‘Dr. Oz Show’ Taken Off the Air in NY and PA Due to Senate Run; Daphne Oz ‘The Good Dish’ to Fill Time Slot

In light of his announcement that he will be running as a republican senate candidate in the state of Pennsylvania, Dr Oz’s daytime talk and medical show, The Dr. Oz Show, is being taken off the air in key markets in New York and Pennsylvania, according to the Fox Station Group.

According to Deadline’s sources, Fox TV Stations proceeded with pulling the Sony Pictures TV-distributed syndicated series because of the prospect of being forced to give other political candidates running in Pennsylvania equal time, expressing that it “would be a nightmare for us, there was no way we were going to be able to do that.”

In its place, look for Dr. Oz’s daughter, Daphne Oz, to be the fill-in with her show.

Starting on January 18th, Daphne’s The Good Dish, will take over the time slot during the duration of her father’s political campaign.  This potentially could go all the way through November of 2022, if Oz remains in the race through election day.

Last fall, Fox TV Stations renewed The Dr. Oz Show for two more years which gave it life through 2023.

So, do you think more stations will go bye-bye and have The Dr. Oz show pulled? What do you think of daughter Daphne’s series as the fill-in? Comment below.

In the past, TV stars who became political candidates had to leave their TV shows. Pat Robertson ran for President in 1988, so he brought his kid in to run the 700 Club. Pat Buchanan ran a couple of times and took a leave of absence from CNN’s Crossfire, which he was hosting at the time. Of course neither of those guys were successful, so they went back to their old gigs after primary season. Oz should do the same. It’s not like he needs the money or anything. As for his kid… I had no idea that somebody gave… Read more »

I try not to think about Dr. Oz. And Pennsylvania deserves far better than the likes of him.

I stopped watching Dr. Quack after he plied one too many magic potions. I think he’s a charlatan. Then he joined in with other Dr Quacks claiming the orange obese one was a physical specimen of perfection. Long ago he sacrificed his medical integrity for the all mighty dollar.

Most interesting that he doesn’t even live in PA. He did use his in-laws address there to vote (how is that even legal?).

Sadly he’s not the first to do that. Mitt Romney had issues in past election cycles deciding which state he would register to vote in, since he had mansions in half a dozen states. And none of them were in Utah, at the time that he decided to run for an open Senate seat there. Though at least his family had historical ties to that state (before his great-grandfather moved to Mexico, rather than give up his spare wives) And then there’s Hillary Clinton, who never lived in New York for one single day of her life, before 2000…. but… Read more »

B&B’s Katherine Kelly Lang and Ashley Jones Reveal They Want Brooke & Bridget To Deal with Their Shared Past with Deacon

Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke) of The Bold and the Beautiful was last Friday’s guest on BOLD Live, and during her interview with B&B supervising producer and host, Casey Kasprzyk, none other than Ashley Jones (Bridget) made a surprise appearance.

Once Jones arrived on the livestream (late in the episode), the discussion turned to wishing that Brooke and Bridget would get the opportunity to deal with the fallout from years ago between mother and daughter.

If fans recall, Bridget was married to Deacon (Sean Kanan), and then he had an affair with Brooke, and then Brooke became pregnant with Hope.

On BOLD Live, Lang said, “There is so much good story there.”  She then added, “I honestly feel Brooke and Bridget never dealt with that. It’s honestly something that was pushed down.”

Ashley shared on the current state of B&B’s episodes: “This is the juiciest the shows been in a long time.”  And on Brooke/Deacon/Bridget, Ashley concurred with Kelly: “Oh. 100% … they never dealt with it.”

Watch BOLD Live with Katherine Kelly Lang and special guest Ashley Jones below.

Then let us know, would you like to see Bridget return and in-turn bring with her some meaty scenes between mother and daughter, especially given Brooke’s temptation with the bottle again? Share your thoughts in the comment section.
