This fall, new talkers from Tamron Hall and Kelly Clarkson will be part of the daytime television landscape, and now comes word that Drew Barrymore may enter the space with a new talk show for her that is in development with the pilot being shot this coming week.

According to Variety, details of the proposed one-hour show are not all clear, but Drew is said to be one of the executive producers of the pilot episode and yet there is no showrunner attached to the project at this time.  Barrymore’s company, Flower Films is likely attached as well.

Back in 2016, Barrymore had a deal in place with Warner Brothers Telepictures for a talk show, but that never came to pass, in part to a lukewarm response from TV station groups at that time.

However now the new regime at CBS’ syndication arm is said to have ‘high hopes’ for the show and they feel that Drew will appeal and do well in the daytime arena.

Barrymore recently appeared in her third season of  Netflix’s Santa Clarita Diet in its 30 episode season. Through her Flower Films she was been an executive producer on unscripted series including TLC’s Rattled and VH1’s Tough Love.

So, would you be interested. or intrigued to see what kind of show Drew Barrymore has to offer in daytime? Think she would be a good host? Share your thoughts via the comment section below.

No no no, we have enough talk shows. I love Drew, please stick to acting.

Stefano…oh I agree…TOTALLY!!!!! I cannot imagine Drew having her own talk show. Nope. To me, Drew needs to stick to acting…PERIOD!!!!!

I don’t understand how anyone can sit through an hour of mostly bs opinion talk lol
that is so crazy..
Seriously- can anyone tell me the entertainment worth of listening to gossipy opinions ..
Perhaps lonely people feel it’s their company of the day, a conversation brought into their home or some such thing.

ie( The view is way off the track its stupid arguing and stupider opinions, and now another one!
I just don’t understand that mindset.
but- some love that stuff, go figure..

I don’t watch but many times there are clips in news stories etc, they’re all loonies! lol
perhaps that’s the entertainment- watching the loonies!

It’s too bad that Drew’s zombie sitcom got cancelled, but a talk show is a bad move for her. It’s already an over saturated market and most of them fail.

Please no more talk shows crowding up tv lineups. If I am going to spend 1 hour watching tv, it will be binge-watching one of my favorite drama soaps.

Instead of continuing to go down the talk show route, why are more networks not chasing more game shows. It seems “Jeopardy,” “Wheel of Fortune,” and “Let’s Make a Deal” have been successful for years. I would love to see “Concentration” and “Password” come back.

I can’t imagine any news with less impact than a new talk show!

Today, if we had known then what we know now, all of those choices, they lead us to where we are presently.”

With that, Tamara said she is going to start, “where I am presently with some memories from The Young and the Restless.” From there, the accomplished star shared a a montage of moments with her cast members including: Lucas Adams, Matt Cohen, Sharon Case, Nathan Owens, Roger Howarth, plus series head writer, Josh Griffith, Y&R publicist, Matt Kane, and many more.

GH FOUND THEIR NEXT CARLY

Before she came to Genoa City, Braun played GH’s Carly from 2001-2005. That was followed by a stint three years later in 2008 as Days of our Lives Ava Vitali, in which she won her first Daytime Emmy Award. Then later in 2008, she moved to New York City and joined the cast of All My Children in the role of Reese Williams and was a part of the groundbreaking same sex wedding between Reese and Bianca Montgomery (Eden Riegel) and stayed with the show until 2009.

Later, in 2011, she came back to Days of our Lives in the short-lived role of Taylor Walker, Nicole’s sister. However, Braun was not done with DAYS when in fact she returned in 2015-2016 to reprise the role of Ava Vitali.

Tamara even made a return trip to General Hospital in 2017, but this time as a Dr. Kim Nero, since Carly was being played by Laura Wright for many years since Braun’s exit. She won her second Daytime Emmy for the final part of her run as Kim dealing with the aftermath of the death of her son, Oscar Nero. Tamara exited the show again in 2019.

Accompanying her video post on the milestone, Braun wrote, “Happy Friday everyone! In honor of my 25 year anniversary of my start in daytime TV I thought I would begin with where my choice to say YES 25 years ago has brought me today. Having so much fun on The Young and the Restless. Grateful, Love Be Kind.”

On the Friday, May 8 Mother’s Day episode of The Price is Right, a retired veteran won over $240,000 in cash and prizes making her takeaway the largest prize ever won in a single pricing game in the 54-year history of the daytime version of the CBS game show.

The contestant, “Vanesa from Virginia” bested the previous record of $210,000 in a single pricing game of Cliffhangers set over a decade ago in 2016. The moment occurred when Vanesa played “The Lion’s Share,” the new high,” the new high-stakes branded game that debuted this season through a partnership with BetMGM.

In the game, contestants have to guess the prices of grocery items to earn up to five balls. Each ball is then dropped into a wind tunnel, revealing a hidden prize amount. After each reveal, contestants face a tense decision to walk away with their current winnings or risk it all to continue.

Vanesa went for the gusto! According to BetMGM and TPIR producers, Fremantle, “The Lion’s Share” is the first custom-branded game in the show’s history, and the first new pricing game on the show since 2021. BetMGM and Fremantle sealed a multi-year deal last year that lends  The Price is Right and Family Feud intellectual property (IP) rights for slots, table games and non-traditional casino games.

The Price is Right is broadcast weekdays on CBS and streams on Paramount+* (11:00 AM-12:00 PM, ET/10:00-11:00 AM, PT). John Quinn is the executive producer. Drew Carey is the host.
