It speaks volumes that when there are only four soaps left, two of them don’t make the cut for a nomination. B&B, in particular, recycles tired stories and tries to pass off exotic locations as a storyline. I’m glad WGA didn’t reward them with a nomination. Brad Bell may be good at giving his audience pretty people in pretty settings, but he can’t write a decent story to save his life. Y&R was a mess all year and just fired its HW. What’s B&B’s excuse?

Agreed and agreed. When was the last time that B&B actually told an original story? I’m three weeks behind & don’t feel any rush to try to catch up. Sad when there are now so few choices to watch.

Good to cite GH and DAYS. They are the best among the four soaps remaining. GH may not always be my cup of tea, but darn! Those writers can tell tall tales and keep that supersoap cast in motion, spinning like plates. And with a nod to history. I just wish we would not rely so on resurrections and baby-stealing. DAYS remains old-fashioned in its storytelling but oh, the suspense and buildup and dialogue those characters say (especially in the heat of the moment!). There remains a strong sense of humanity is Salem this latecomer to the proceedings has come… Read more »

@ Iakovos way to go on the marquee for both shows it could be any day of the week. when one against the other just fulfills and takes first these two above and beyond take over the CBS shows I have to pull from your DAYS cull : “… DAYS remains old-fashioned in its storytelling ” I don’t know that the numbers 3 and 4 respectively will ever overtake… CBS #1 and #2… but that’s because of mindset … days and GH have never lost their or wavered less than the audience take they’ve both maintained their draw… and it’s… Read more »

And I think the Writers Guild has more cred than the Emmy nominators. That is why I am so pleased with how this is going. Thanks for the comments, Patrick. Maybe GH and DAYS will rise up, huh? I am doing my best to make that happen. Will admit I follow the other two and watch them some. Y&R was once my favorite. I miss ATWT the most.

Since They Were Shunned At The 2014 Daytime Emmy Award WHICH WAS A TRAIN WRECK…. Because They Didn’t Give General Hospital And Equal Fair Chance To Win Anything

It Was All About Jill Farren SOAP OPERA KILLER Phelps

I Am GLAD That The Young And The Restless WAS NOT NOMINATED

That Show (Y and R) And Jill Farren Phelps Don’t Deserve Another Damn Award.

I love General Hospital, primarily due to most of the brilliant cast members, but I feel the show is all over the place, too many characters, subplots. Days has more structure, and surprisingly I care about the characters more on Days. My vote is for DAYS!

I guess congrats to both. I don’t watch GH but hear good things about it. I hate to rain on the parade, but as a long-time DOOL fan, I thought I had to comment. DAYS right now is awful! I have no idea how they were nominated for the award!! Their current storylines are a mess and really boring. The vets are underutilized while dull newbies keep coming onto the canvas. Jordan & Rafe’s relationship was super boring; no doubt she’s better with Chad. But the thing is, we’ve been waiting for her secret to come out for over a… Read more »

Victoria Konefal Will Be Back On Days of our Lives

This week Days of our Lives viewers saw the exit of both Theo (Cameron Johnson) and Ciara (Victoria Konefal), much to the chagrin of Cin fans everywhere! But hold on! Days head writer, Ron Carlivati revealed that Victoria Konefal will be back on-screen this summer on the NBC soap opera.

In an interview with Soap Opera Digest, Carlivati revealed: “From the moment we were coming to that point and we knew Ciara was going to exit town with Theo, we were immediately pursuing the next chapter with Victoria: When would she be available or willing to come back, and when could we tell the next chapter because I knew that would feel unfinished and be unsatisfying to a lot of people. So that’s why I’m happy to announce here that Ciara is coming back and we are going to tell that next chapter of the story and hopefully, this time, the audience will get the payoff that they’re looking for and hoping for.”

And as to just how long will Konefal who chose to go on recurring status with the show be back for her summer run, Carlivati shared: “At this point, and I can’t speak for Victoria and I can’t speak for the show, and this is not an official announcement in any capacity, but I will say at this point, there is not an end date. We are working with Victoria to keep the story going and keep Ben (Rob Scott Wilson) and Ciara’s love story alive.”

Cin fans should note that Carlivati added, “I would encourage the audience to remember that they (Cin) have an important anniversary coming up this summer that may figure into their story, so she will be back sooner than you know.”

So, happy to know there will be more of Ben and Ciara? Where you upset to see Ciara exit the canvas with Theo? Share your thoughts via the comment section below.

DAYS Jackée Harry to Appear in Final Season of FX’s ‘Pose’

You can never get enough Jackée, right? Right! The popular actress who recently made her daytime drama return in a new role on Days of our Lives as Paulina, will also be seen next month in the third and final season of the hit and groundbreaking FX series, Pose.

The final batch of episodes bows on May 2, 2021, and Entertainment Weekly revealed that Harry will be part of the last season.

In a tweet on social media, Jackée expressed: “And I’m SO relieved to finally tell you to catch me on the final season of #PoseFX  Consider me honored and over the moon!!!!””

For those who don’t know, Pose is a drama spotlighting the legends, icons and ferocious house mothers of New York’s underground ball culture, a movement that first gained notice in the late 1980s. Making television history, Pose features the largest cast of transgender actors in series regular roles, including Mj Rodriguez, Dominique Jackson, Indya Moore and Hailie Sahar, who co-star alongside Billy Porter, Angel Bismark Curiel, Dyllón Burnside, Sandra Bernhard and Jason Rodriguez. The Golden Globe-nominated drama also features the largest recurring cast of LGBTQ actors ever for a scripted series.

In the final season of Pose, it’s now 1994 and ballroom feels like a distant memory for the character of Blanca who struggles to balance being a mother with being a present partner to her new love, and her latest role as a nurse’s aide. Meanwhile, as AIDS becomes the leading cause of death for Americans ages 25 to 44, Pray Tell contends with unexpected health burdens. Elsewhere, the emergence of a vicious new upstart house forces the House of Evangelista members to contend with their legacy.

Pose was co-created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Steven Canals, who executive produce alongside Nina Jacobson, Brad Simpson, Alexis Martin Woodall, Sherry Marsh and Janet Mock. Our Lady J is co-executive producer.

Excited to see Jackée featured in the upcoming season of Pose? Enjoying her as DAYS Paulina? Comment below.
