I watch both shows so it doesnt matter to me which one wins…lol

CONGRATS to both General Hospital and Days of our Lives !!

General Hospital’s writing has been suburb !! outstanding!

Days of our Lives, I have not watched but-
Its’ fans speak highly of their soap so no doubt the writing of Days of our Lives has also been good..

good luck to both 🙂

days all the way

General Hospital of course.

It speaks volumes that when there are only four soaps left, two of them don’t make the cut for a nomination. B&B, in particular, recycles tired stories and tries to pass off exotic locations as a storyline. I’m glad WGA didn’t reward them with a nomination. Brad Bell may be good at giving his audience pretty people in pretty settings, but he can’t write a decent story to save his life. Y&R was a mess all year and just fired its HW. What’s B&B’s excuse?

Agreed and agreed. When was the last time that B&B actually told an original story? I’m three weeks behind & don’t feel any rush to try to catch up. Sad when there are now so few choices to watch.

THANK YOU WRITERS my #GH & #DAYS.Deserve to win! Thank you Michael for letting us know!!

Good to cite GH and DAYS. They are the best among the four soaps remaining.

GH may not always be my cup of tea, but darn! Those writers can tell tall tales and keep that supersoap cast in motion, spinning like plates. And with a nod to history. I just wish we would not rely so on resurrections and baby-stealing.

DAYS remains old-fashioned in its storytelling but oh, the suspense and buildup and dialogue those characters say (especially in the heat of the moment!). There remains a strong sense of humanity is Salem this latecomer to the proceedings has come to appreciate.

@ Iakovos

way to go on the marquee for both shows

it could be any day of the week. when one against the other just fulfills and takes first

these two above and beyond take over the CBS shows

I have to pull from your DAYS cull : “… DAYS remains old-fashioned in its storytelling ”

I don’t know that the numbers 3 and 4 respectively will ever overtake… CBS #1 and #2… but that’s because of mindset …

days and GH have never lost their or wavered less than the audience take

they’ve both maintained their draw… and it’s because of word of mouth

I WISH that these two would overtake and cement their loyal following as we deserve it… that GH and DAYS be lauded

And I think the Writers Guild has more cred than the Emmy nominators. That is why I am so pleased with how this is going. Thanks for the comments, Patrick. Maybe GH and DAYS will rise up, huh? I am doing my best to make that happen. Will admit I follow the other two and watch them some. Y&R was once my favorite. I miss ATWT the most.

CONGRATS TO GENERAL HOSPITAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They DESERVE TO Win For This Too

Since They Were Shunned At The 2014 Daytime Emmy Award WHICH WAS A TRAIN WRECK…. Because They Didn’t Give General Hospital And Equal Fair Chance To Win Anything

It Was All About Jill Farren SOAP OPERA KILLER Phelps

I Am GLAD That The Young And The Restless WAS NOT NOMINATED

That Show (Y and R) And Jill Farren Phelps Don’t Deserve Another Damn Award.

I am a big fan of Days of Our Lives. It should win big.

Way to go “GH”s Ron Carlivati and Crew, You guys are totally awesome, keep it up…

Now I wish We could have Laura(Genie) and steal Greg Vaughan from “Days” and bring Him back as Our Lucky!!!

Hope You win Ron, and keep up the great work…

Glad to see GH finally getting some recognition for the tremendous work they’ve been doing. A very well deserved nomination! Hopefully the Emmys will follow suit when those nominations come out in the spring.

Great news for Days of our Lives and General Hospital!!

Congrats to both but I am a Days Fan all the way <3

Congrats!! 🙂

I have never seen general hospital
I love days though. Have been watching on and off for 30+ years

It’s reallyr nice to see a thread where all the comments are overwhelmingly positive! Congratulations to all involved in both shows – good to see that there is some positive recognition for all the hard work put in to these long running and great shows.

Love both shows & both are winners to me. Congrats & good luck.

Days of OUR Lives supplants and steers trigger

enigmatic imagination wild one hour of dream

quality ON

OF COURSE YOU SHOULD KNOW THAT I ALWAYS WILL PICK GH. THEY’VE ALWAYS BEEN THE BEST IN MY EYES, AND ACTUALLY FEEL LIKE THEIR AN EXTENDED FAMILY. THAT’S HOW MUCH I’M ADDITED TOWARDS GH. THANKS FOR SHARING AND KEEP US UP TO DATE. THANKS AGAIN.

I love General Hospital, primarily due to most of the brilliant cast members, but I feel the show is all over the place, too many characters, subplots. Days has more structure, and surprisingly I care about the characters more on Days. My vote is for DAYS!

I guess congrats to both. I don’t watch GH but hear good things about it.

I hate to rain on the parade, but as a long-time DOOL fan, I thought I had to comment. DAYS right now is awful! I have no idea how they were nominated for the award!! Their current storylines are a mess and really boring. The vets are underutilized while dull newbies keep coming onto the canvas. Jordan & Rafe’s relationship was super boring; no doubt she’s better with Chad. But the thing is, we’ve been waiting for her secret to come out for over a year, and frankly, we just don’t care anymore. She’s a good actress, but the material is awful and boring. The same goes for Ben–his only storyline is having sex with Abigail.

JJ and Paige suck. Really. Paige claims to love JJ and trust him, but always lets her conniving mother and classmates stir up doubt in her. She’s supposed to be a nice, smart girl, but she comes across as judgmental and bland instead. No wonder her and JJ keep taking breaks! He’s had a bad past but he did change. However, I’m really disappointed that he crawled into bed with the much-older Eve, the mother of his girlfriend, former stepmother, and the arch-enemy of his mother. She’s been trying for months to break up him and her daughter’s relationship. Their romp was absolutely disgusting. And as for Eve…a brilliant actress, but her storylines are boring. I think she should’ve mixed it up with Sami before her departure, as well as interacting more with Kristen. But for now, why not have her share scenes with other powerhouse characters like Nicole, Clyde, or Kate? Heck, maybe even her and Rafe would have cool interactions.

The Daniel & Jennifer storyline has been really beating the dead horse. Very few people enjoy their relationship. I used to when they first got together, but Jennifer’s been acting like a shrew while Daniel is simply getting too much airtime to truly be enjoyable. I’d like to see him with Eve or Nicole; they would bring out the joy in him, whereas Jennifer only stresses him out.

Similarly, Eric & Nicole, who could’ve had a great relationship, have also been destroyed. Eric is constantly being a jerk to her–yes, what Nicole did was wrong, but how did this man ever become a priest? He’s whiny, hypocritical, and judgmental. Nicole forgave him for the false rape accusation, but he can’t forgive her for shredding some papers that he once told Jennifer that he didn’t care if he came upon again? Moreover, how could he be fine with his sister marrying the man who knew Kristen raped him, AND forgive his rapist, yet not give Nicole a free pass? It’s high time that Nicole found some happiness, and I think she should either be hooked up with Rafe (which fans have been requesting since at least 2010), or be paired up again with Daniel or Brady.

I think we’re also not seeing enough stable relationships. The only one right now is Maggie & Victor, who we barely see. Both Sonny & Will and Hope & Aiden, both of which the audiences love, are going through really rough times. I don’t count Abby & Ben (because they always just have sex) or Chad & Jordan, since he’s using her. I know its a soap, but it would be more enjoyable and realistic if we had at least 4-5 couples that actually stay together. There’s also hardly any, if any at all, of an element of family or friendship on the show: just constant conniving, bed-hopping, and doom & gloom.

We’d like to see more of the vets. They’ve all been backburnered in favor of showing more boring characters like Ben and Jordan. I mean, John just returned from many months in Europe only to land in a coma quickly for a long time, then wake up and none of his issues with Brady were resolved, nor did he truly reunite with Marlena. Then, he leaves off to Europe again with no return in sight for now. Huh?? WHAT was the point of even bringing him back?

Lastly, the storyline of Kristen’s scheme before leaving town again was predictable and just plain bad.

TOO much doom & gloom on DAYS and a lack of realistic storylines. I haven’t watched in weeks, but instead keep up by reading daily summaries. Please fire the writers and replace them; maybe then DAYS won’t be in last place anymore in terms of the ratings.

John is coming back for Christmas and so is Kimberly! Also, Doug and Julie are going to have a storyline!!!
