General Hospital
GENERAL HOSPITAL: Peter’s On Ice, But Is He “Dead” Dead?
Wednesday’s episode of General Hospital provided more to the back-story of what Finn (Michael Easton) and Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) did with Peter’s (Wes Ramsey) body after Finn tussled with the guy and Peter fell down the stairwell and hitting his head on the wall, to his supposed death.
In story, Liz became worried when thinking back to how she suggested to Finn – and that they carried out – putting Peter’s body in a freezer in the sub-basement of the hospital.
As she recalls their plot (to keep Peter’s body from being discovered until they have time to move him permanently), Anna (Finola Hughes) is on the move of the hospital and uncovers a hidden service elevator that might just take her to the sub-basement, where she could discover Peter’s lifeless body.
But hold the phone! While we know it was revealed that Wes Ramsey departed GH, could it be that Anna could discover the freezer with no sign of Peter in it? Do you really think his reign of terror is over given that he is Cesar Faison’s bio-son?
Share your thoughts: Do you think Peter is really dead, or will the character come back to haunt everyone and try to get revenge on all who tried to stand in his way of Maxie and his child? Comment below.
I feel like the writers really botched the opportunity for a great whodunit story involving Peter’s death. There were so many possible suspects it could have been – Maxie, Finn, Liz, Scott, Mac, Felicia, Valentin, Anna, Obrecht, Cameron, a very much alive Drew or Franco, etc. The list would have been endless, and it would have made for great drama. I wish they had capitalized on it instead of having Finn and Liz as co-conspirators in Peter’s demise. After months of his murderous and tormenting behaviour, it felt very anti-climactic for him to fall down a flight of stairs and die. I just hope he’s dead-dead and not soap “dead” because I never want to see Peter again.
They needed a reason for Finn and Liz to have scenes since they are a future couple.
Hi, Timmy
It’s been a while—so happy to “see” you here…
I agree with you about Finn and Liz. That caress spoke volumes.
If true—we shall see how they mesh—better than watching Anna with Finn—it hurt my eyes going through their scenes together.
I liked him with Hayden–albeit, I’m not into characters sleeping with exes’ siblings. Yuck!!
Nonetheless, the best pairing for Michael Easton was with Melissa Archer, OLTL.
Ciao, babe
Celia, so happy to know you are alive! Hope all is well. Yeah, Finn and Anna were a train wreck! Maybe him and Liz will have a go. Matter of fact, you mentioning Hayden triggered a story line that I could see happening down the road. Liz and Finny are knee deep in love and guess who comes home to reclaim her man, Hayden! Sorry babe!
LOL—-very well put, Timmy—yeah, I’m still around!! Imagine that!
Poor Liz; she’s been through so much and wouldn’t it be so typical for these writers to have an ex return and cause havoc —-
Speaking of havoc—my, oh my—Chase and Willow married ( I am loving this), with puppy-eyed Michael lurking in the proverbial shadows, hungrily wishing for some crumbs. Serves him right.
If Chase and Willow do end up in bed, she will probably get pregnant. Right?! Same old, same old. Who’ the Daddy?
Miraculously, after all that trauma, Chase will sprint from his hospital bed into Willow’s.
I think they belong together.
Yes, I so agree with you about Wes’ shortcomings. I doubt I would have liked him any better if he had played a good guy. He simply does not do it for me. Very wishy-washy.
Anders is one of a kind. No comparison. As evil as he was, he was pure entertainment as Cesar. He is a true thespian.
See you soon—-❤️
Hi Jimmy !!
That is 100% — a whodunit!
I just mentioned that, also..
There could be some suspenseful stories -only- if Peter is alive.
I do not believe Peter is dead, nope..
Because the writers can’t be that braindead ((can they lol)
Think about how great the story could have been if it were a whodunit murder! And the culprit? Heather Webber! She would have had the perfect motivation since Peter murdered the son she loved so much. Her connection with Franco was twisted, and it would have been an unexpected twist. Missed opportunity, IMO.
I’m starting to believe you, SusieQ. Do you want Peter to be alive? I am not sure, at this point, if he is or not.
I would think that, in order to appease Finn’s and Liz’s conscience, TPTB may keep Peter alive until he dies by someone else’s hand or by other means. He really doesn’t add anything to the show. As Timmm said, he’s a wimp and a coward.
Plus, when a story keeps going in circles, the viewer loses interest.
I’m just thankful two bad boys are gone.
Heiny’s in Hell. We’re working on getting tighter security down here, so we don’t have escapes like we have in the past.
Seriously though…. how does that (not so) secret Cassidine basement lab still exist, and who in Hell’s name left a working freezer down there??
Could you arrange for Helena Cassadine to make Heiny’s life in Hell miserable?
hey Satan-
There was no frost in the freezer and doubt there would be electricity in a sealed-off place.
Let Peter go!! he has a lot of excitement yet to be delivered!
Peter needs to face off with Valentin over his baby- Anna has to, eventually, kill him. Peter and Dr O need to plot his death. Much more to come-
It could be; A Who Killed Peter !?- A Whodunit!
Let Peter go I desperately need a dark bad guy to keep things interesting!
With Cyrus the Virus running the hospital for the last several months, it’s entirely possible that he found out about the basement lab and was using it as part of his drug operation. Not even Walter White would have had such a sophisticated drug lab!
Of course they sure cleaned up all traces of their activity if that were the case. No equipment of any kind, except for that freezer. And it’s a commercial food freezer, for Hell’s sake! Not even the cryogenic freeze chamber stuff that Helena had built in. Maybe Cyrus kept it stashed with frozen food, so his drug lab guys wouldn’t have to come up for lunch?
As far as a “dark villain” goes, I suspect we’re going to see Valentin embracing the dark side again, once he realizes that Brook Lynn was never pregnant, and that he gave up his control of ELQ for “nothing”. And Nina won’t be able to talk him down, because by the time this happens, she’s going to be too busy dealing with the fallout of her own stupid little game she’s been playing with Sonny & (by extension) his entire family.
Maybe Val will find out who his father is, at some point? It wasn’t Mikkos. I would really hate to see dead Faison getting yet another son that he doesn’t need, but…. as far as old guys (who are probably all dead now) who could have hooked up with Helena back in the day, Faison would probably be the most likely candidate. I don’t see old Edward Quartermaine interested in Helena, though we do know he “stepped out” on poor old Lila on numerous occasions (hence the existence of the Wards, Jimmy Lee Holt, etc.) Also that would invoke the “yuck” factor, since he’s already had sex with BrookLynn. I guess Jax’s father is a remote possibility (and he’s also long dead) but I can’t imagine Jerry staying away all this time, if he knew he had another brother – and one more inclined to help with a criminal enterprise than Jax himself would be.
Satan
I know how much you like Luke, but so did Helena. Is there any way she and Luke might have done the deed which produced Valentin? lol. Is Luke even old enough to be his bio dad?
Luke is technically old enough to be Val’s father…. but in the context of the years that he’s known Helena, that wouldn’t be old enough. Teenage Luke was hanging out in whorehouses somewhere in Florida, not anywhere near Greece or the Cassadines. There’s no evidence that Luke & Helena ever met before she turned up to curse his wedding to Laura (in the form of Elizabeth Taylor)
Satan,
Thanks for the update. Was not watching during that time. I’ve been feeling sorry for poor Val lately .So in love with that baby, but hopefully they find out the truth before Charlotte gets her hands on Papa’s new baby.
If Wes Ramsey is still with Laura Wright then you can bet your bottom dollar that Peter is not dead.
IKR. That’s one way of gauging if Wes Ramsey has really been let go or not. Laura Wright would probably be on Twitter tweeting out her resume to the other three soaps if they had truly let Ramsey go. She’s not. She’s happy as the bees knees which leads me to believe that not only is he still on contract but he’s coming back to the show very soon.
Unfortunately.
Harry
You seem to be right again. I just read a quote from him saying he’ll be back as “Mr. Peter or another character.” I can’t believe this, I thought we finally got rid of him.
Absolutely no sympathy for Peter on my part. Good riddance. Hope he enjoys the new and special version of Hell.
You got it, Anne. After all, he tortured us for three years! No sad songs from me.
Well… isn’t that where the bodies are frozen and held awaiting shipment to Cassadine Island ??!!
Oh, I hope so! Bring back Nell! Now that girl was a hoot! Then Nina could learn the truth about her precious daughter.
I’m with you here, Lew. Nelle is a “fun” villain the way Peter (or Y&R’s Sally) just isn’t. Maybe Cryogenics will bring Peter back? But I can’t imagine Petey Puke being any colder than he was already! Anyhow, I LIKE Elizabeth’s dark side here.
Hi Soaphound!: I hope Sally on Y&R is a short-term character. Loved her on B&B before she went nuts, but I don’t see her purpose. Everyone knows she’s a manipulating winch.
Lew S
Not finding anywhere else to post things for Y&R, I just have to speak of another manipulating bitch, Tara. I knew she would be bad news from the start but with Sally’s help, she’s outdone herself with all her threats to Summer. For once I want to tell her to run to her grandfather. Victor will take care of Tara in nothing flat.I am not a big fan of his, but I know this is something he could fix.
Violet, I had the same thought except I envisioned Phyllis going to Victor and saying, “The one thing we have in common is loving Summer. Let’s wipe this Tara witch off the face of Genoa City.” Or some such Phyllis-ism. Tara is beyond contempt and Sally’s role in this needs exposure, especially to suddenly clueless Lauren.
Soaphound
Love your idea too and speaking of Lauren, I wouldn’t want to be Tara or Sally when she finds out what they’ve been up to. She’ll take no prisoners. She can be a hellcat when prodded. She was not to gentle with Chelsea years ago when she screwed her over.
That’s my thought! Victor would snap her like a twig and send Sally running back to LA!
Ahhhh–Y&R—-Sally should disappear and take Michael Quartermaine with her.
And that other nonentity Tara? I pegged her phony innocent act from day one, and said so. She seduced Kyle who happened to be on the rebound. Are we sure Harrison is really his? It’s a soap—-every citizen of Anytown USA seems to have access to THE infamous lab!!
What is the point? How many times can Summer and Kyle break up?
As far as Peter—-Yuck—had enough of him. Even the name doesn’t suit him—Peter: from the Roman-Latin/Italian word, rock!!
Then, there’s Nina—-why? This sort of double life she’s is neither here nor there. What is the point? Everyone will hate her when the caca hits the fan. She is risking everything for his Hotness, hunky Mike. Not!!
Celia, Celia, this Nina story is a bore, a chore, and a snore. WHO thinks this will end well for anyone, least of all the beleaguered viewers? Painting “Mike” as a wandering heartthrob is laughable… James Dean he ain’t. And I have zero sympathy for bed-hopping Michael. His treatment of the loyal, loving Chase is betrayal of the WORST kind. And Y&R’s Sally and Tara are even more contemptible. No redeeming qualities in either character. They need to clean house over there.
Soaphound, not only is Sonny a hunky hearthrob, but he is also a hero. He saved not only the little town of Nixon Falls from lowlife-thieves ( so fitting, “Nixon falls” and then some) but also all its citizens of two. Business picked up so much, we have seen nary a soul in that fine establishment. And, Nina loves it there. Gimme a break. So unrealistic–I’d die!! Nonetheless, the crux of the matter? Can’t-live-without-you, Sonny—They should play Harry Nilsson’s version of ‘Without You”, right about now.
All Hail to Mike/Sonny. This is so stupid. Is this the end of Nina? She will be shunned —–and all the sophisticated, pretentious prudes ( that’s a hoot, hoot) of PC will say, ” get thee to a nunnery”.
I like Nina—so, I don’t like where this is going. Is this the end for her? Please no!! She should go back with Valentin—he has been “modified” LOL—-or maybe with Austin? I do not like Carly, yet this storyline concocted by ingenious writers will uplift Carly’s status to a glirified victim who can do no wrong!! If she had her way, she would prefer Jason not be romantically involved with anyone. She wants him. Jealous of Britt much?
The same goes for Lizzie—as much as I love the character, we are meant to forget her nasty deeds of manipulations and lies—the vuctim? Drew—lest we forget that little tidbit. She is now portrayed as the exemplar woman, wife and mother.
Both women are laden with righteous scruples.
Chase!! Oh, Chase!! Willow does not deserve him. She and Puppy Michael deserve each other. But, the bi*ch in me would be so gratified if Willow would stay with Chase—-just to stick it to Michael. However, he’s so cuddled by TPTB, no way will PC’s petit prince not get what he wants.
Forgive the typos–it’s 2 AM and my eyes will not stay open—-too tired to back-check. Nite–
The way the decks are being cleared of all things “villainy” at the moment, plus the inevitable fallout of Sonny returning to Port Charles & Nina facing the fallout of keeping Sonny’s whereabouts from his family for several months, it all sets the stage for a Nelle return. Presumably she must have washed up down river, just like Sonny did. Only in some other town that’s NOT “Nixon Falls”.
I do not want to post.
I wish CBS would reboot Guiding Light. Bring WR back as Sam but have him be a villain this time. WR does a villain so well. I don’t think Peter’s dead dead. Maxie will never be free from him.
Peter is Not dead..
The writers would never write Liz or Finn as bad bad bad criminal people.
Peter’s story has not ended..
He will face off with Valentin in his baby story.
Peter is going on into other stories- until Anna kills him/self-defense..
There is more of Peter to come.
I like the character so I’m fine with it.
Long live Peter!
Oh SuOOO, you always take the other side just to piss people off BUT its good to see you post. Short live Peter!
Hi Timmm 🙂
Good to hear from you.
aaawww- sorry I pissed you off with my right-on opinions LOL 🙂
The only side I’m on is mine..
Which other side would I be on?
0ooh I like Peter, that must be it.
Peter is a great character he starts fires and keeps my attention.
I hope the writers haven’t actually killed him off 🙁
Peter is not as good/great as his daddy, but he’s working it.
Nothing better for any soap than a dark nasty character to get peoples blood pressure up 🙂
ahhh what total bore without them—-
You may be right, SusieQ—-Peter may not be dead; even under ice—Peter must have a superhuman ability to play dead? The only discrepancy in this teory is the fact that Lizzie is a nurse, and Finn a doctor. Peter had no pulse. It’s a soap. Anything is possible. However—so glad not to see that face for the time being.
Your adoration of Peter is a little unnerving, but I get it. I like Cyrus—for different reasons. I find Peter’s fake, scary look both irritating and ridiculous— ain’t working for me.
As far as Finn and Liz regarded as criminals? Nah—self preservation. It was Finn or Peter taking that tumble down those stairs.
Hi Celia 🙂
I get a big kick outta Peter lol
I have chuckled and even had a laugh or two over his face/eyes expressions! lol_________________
He comes off as the eerie old B&W horror movies villain, at times. That’s when I have a laugh.
He entertains me ahaa!
I’m hopeful Peter will return.________________
Finn and Liz committed a crime by hiding a dead body- not reporting it-
but yeh there will be no mention of that fact.
__________________ 0ooh horror! that Cameron guy is going to play Drew — issh-
I do not like him.
And then that will bring Sam upfront.
I can not tolerate Sam .. so not happy about that.
That Cameron guy as Drew is so not right, nope.
Sometimes Peter’s eye expressions remind me of
the eyes of Bela Lugosi !!
ahaa haa!
SuOOO, I dont like Cameron at all. I didnt hear who he was going to play but, playing Drew, horrible choice! He is too old! I think Cameron will either be a Q or a Hardy?
hi Timmm–
Cameron will be Drew–
I will bet you a cyber Dairy Queen x-large cone with sprinkles!!
that he will be Drew!!
and–
he will be an awful Drew- totally a UUGGGEE casting mistake.
Where are you getting this from? Any confirmation that he’s going to be a Drew recast?? I’ve only seen that on a certain message board where 99.9% of the “spoilers” turn out to be fan fiction.
And even they didn’t come out and say he was a Drew recast… only vaguely implied it.
I certainly hope he’s not. Drew’s supposed to be Jason’s twin brother. We can suspend reality that he doesn’t have the same face, because of the convenient “accident” of Ava Jerome running over his face in a stolen SUV, just when he was thawed out from being a Cassadine popsicle and making his way home to Port Charles. Billy Miller was able to make that somewhat plausible. Don’t see it happening with a new guy and another drastically different face.
Hi Satan–
Cameron being Drew is just my opinion, the way I see it.
Sam is unless/not needed without a man..
So, bringing Drew back will save the Sam character.
My way of thinking Drew is mostly to do with Sam.
I do not, never have, liked Sam and would be more than happy to have her off my screen but Drew is meant to save Sam–
time will tell if I’m right…
And–
the Cameron guy will be horrible as Drew, totally horrible.
But– I could be wrong- hopefully 🙂
Satan
Check the search at the very top of Michael’s front page, putting in Cameron Mathison and there are three items with his thanks to GH for the opportunity.
This note to Satan was wrong. My apologies. It wasn’t here I read about C M, but another site, I can’t find again.
I did see some vague reference to CM being told to grow a beard before he started filming. Though I can’t remember where I read that either.
I could see where that might be interpreted as an implication of a Drew recast, as beards on soap characters usually seem to only happen when somebody’s being held prisoner somewhere and not allowed anywhere near a razor, because they could be used as a weapon, or a tool to slice up your bedsheets and braid them into a rope to climb out a window (or whatever)
Since we know Whiny Heiny arranged Drew’s plane crash, it would be logical to assume he had some partners ready to take Drew into custody, once the plane was down. Assuming such people are still taking orders from Heiny, they’re probably wondering why they haven’t heard from him recently. (Because he’s in Hell, of course!!)
So based on that, I guess a case could be made for CM being a Drew recast. On the other horn, he could be this new “child psychologist” that Mikey mentioned the other day. A shrink might grow a beard just for the Hell of it, because it’s what Freud would have done. And then there’s this new crime family, the Novaks. Who apparently just blew up a Corinthos warehouse. They’re going to need some on screen representation. Previously we saw some older dude at the “Five Families” meetings, but he could always have a son who comes to Port Charles to handle their “business”. And wasn’t there a new buyer for Heiny’s media business, just before he tumbled down the stairs, and directly into Hell??
So that’s at least three potential new characters that CM could be playing. He doesn’t have to be a “nuDrew”.
You had me at Dairy Queen!
SuOOO
I mentioned on another site about Cameron Mathison playing Drew. He’s a nice guy, but Drew he ain’t and never will be. First we get old Franco playing Johnny Appleseed or what ever and now Mr.Smily Face as Drew, I can’t stand it!
Hi Violet 🙂
We need the original Drew back-
Billy was treated so awfully bad I doubt he will ever return.
A shame what was done to Billy.
We will soon see who Camron will be-
I say he is the new Drew, and if I’m correct that will be a tragic recast.
0oooh and–
I do like Roger in his new character– he brings a smile and his humor is awesome. I envision Rogers’s new character as a winner..
Roger’s new character has just begun and I see Roger owning it ..
Anna and Sam are turning my stomach–
I know some love the two– but I’m not one.
ahaaa Camron as a TALL Drew with minture Sam UGHHH
Sam’s 6” heels will need to be stilts ahaa!
SuOOO
I agree with you about Drew and I’am liking this new Austin, except for his hair. I think Anna and Finn are a thing of the past, he’s already smitten with Liz. I hope Jason and Britt can be a couple, if only Carly can keep her clutches off of Jason. It will hopefully help when Sonny returns, if and when he gets his memories back and his mind off of Nina. I don’t know if he can handle two blondes at once.
You know, Violet, they must really think Port Charles denizens are complete fools. Spinelli can deduce that Jason and Carly are only marrying for business reasons, but Jax, Michael, Joss, and dim-Sam can’t? Britt is a favorite of mine; I think Jason is blowing it big time, rescuing the Shoe Clumper once again. Maybe Austin and Britt? Or Chase? I’d also like Lucas back and Brad, too. He and Britt are really fun together.
Actually, Michael figured it out pretty much instantly, and let his mom & uncle know that he was OK with the strategy. I don’t know why Jason chose to leave Sam in the dark. She obviously knows enough about the “family business” to understand how this works. Joss has been pretty well shielded from the inner workings of the mob so far, but she’s over 18 now, and a smart girl, so I think she could have handled the truth. Probably they left her out of it, because they thought she might have told her father. And Jax is always a “wild card” in terms of what he might do with inside information, if he could twist it to benefit his own interests.
I think the main problem with Peter is the same problem with Nick on Y&R. Nick cannot hold a candle to Victor and Peter cannot hold a candle to Cesar. Cesar was evil scary. Peter is a wimp!
Hi Timmm-
Ahh Peters facial (Villian) expressions are gold in the laugh department!!
I get a chuckle and laugh at his evil eyes ahaa!
Gotta take Peter for what the bad guy gives me- a laugh..
Peter entertains me lol..
Pete’s character is boring. He has done too many bad things and caused too much pain. If they do bring him Back, it should be with him going to jail. Chase and willow deserve each other and make a good couple. Michael does need a good woman as he has had a lot of bad relationships. Feel bad for the guy. Carley wants to control Jason’s life and I want Sonny to return sooner than later. Awaiting the fallout for Nina to get what she deserves.
I agree—my only regret is Nina’s state of mind. She had beome a loving, trusting character, yet the PTB have regressed as far as the character is concerned. Pity!!
When she first saw Sonny at Nixon Falls, she did try to tell Carly, but that insufferable witch started mouthing off—-I think this compelled Nina to stick it to Carly—-never her favorite person. However, what started as a supposed spiteful issue turned into true affection for Sonny/Mike. She shold correct that wrong——not a scrupulous thing to do.
Can’t wait to see how this all unfolds.
I have never liked Michael—-he is the boy who has never grown up —-he seems to always get into the wrong relationship—he has the tendency to pick up every other man’s leftovers/ crumbs. And, he is a hypocrite to boot—-as are Nina and Carly, at this point—“Do as I say, not as I do”.
I do not get any vibe between Willow and Michael. He’s just not the sexy, hunky lover—-he’s too dull ompared to Chace—-the guy could start a fire just with his looks. LOL.
Pardon the typos!!
Celia, I’m loving you even more today! Michael is a dweeb with a big bank account and badly in need of shampoo. What is Willow DOING? Is she so wrapped up in the Wiley-itis that has struck the entire city? I’m surprised Cyrus’s henchmen aren’t wandering around asking if Wiley is safe and happy! Even the royal princes never got this much attention. Meanwhile, when I saw Chase in that poolside lounge on Thursday, I went weak in the knees…while sitting down. The smile, the eyes, the hair, the sweet disposition…Willow needs her head examined. I also feel bad for Nina.. She can’t seem to get a break. For the first time, I envisioned Valentin forgiving anything she’s doing and them reuniting. Anna and he have as much fire as a vacuum cleaner.
HaHa—-I never really noticed Michael’s hair, except that it’s longer. No point, Soaphound —-he has neither the lupine characteristics of ‘love ’em and leave ’em” Don Giovanni, nor the inadvertent exudation of sex appeal regaled to only Chase. He is so beautiful, he doesn’t even know it.
Weeping Willow must be blind—-looks do not the person make, right? —
we should not be so superficial—OK. LOL.
There’s this little imp inside me that wants Chase to meet the love of his life, leaving Willow in the dust. And, alas!!—-Willow realizes what a fool she has been by choosing a toad instead of a prince.
Valentin and Anna—-even more boring than Finn and Anna. Not a fan of Anna. What is her role now? She’s on a quest—-find Louise and Peter, or bust. En garde, everybody!!
Sadly, Nina will eventually get her comeuppance—unavoidably so!! Is the character on her way out?
Then there’s Ava and her demons chasing her everywhere she goes, since she first walked on stage.
Some of these characters are presented as being so obtuse—Spencer is back. Put two and two together—-what do you get? There’s your demon—-albeit I think Nikolas has his suspicions.
At this point, the kids are more grounded than the adults.
Yet, I must say, I have found a newfound appreciation for Brook Lynn. I really like her.
I agree. Do you think Maxie will leave Port Charles? Brook – Lynn is really rocking her role and socking it to Valentin. However, I think that it is going to turn out very bad for her and her family when Valentin finds out. I really like Jason and Brit together. Brit has that Edge to her that makes her understand Jason and vis a vis. Sam has dump Jason too many times and always tries to play the victim. Jason, OMG, he deserves a day time award. He is just FABULOUS. LOL. It is Time to bring sonny back to port Charles. I am literally sitting on the edge of my couch biting my nails each time Sonny is in a situation where he could be discovered. DO NOT WANT CARLY and Jason to MARRY.
If Maxie leaves, I would think it will be on a temporary basis—–Maxie is a major character at this juncture—–it’s Sam who is one character too many, just sparring her nonsense with Dante.
Are Maxie and Spinelli becoming an item for the second time? ( or is it the third?).
As far as Brook Lynn—she’s proving her stuff—
Her return was perfectly orchestrated by TPTB—-what a coincidence! Her appearance indirectly killed two birds with one stone. Pardon the pun ( Peter and the fake nurse). Not only did she pull the wool over Valentin’s eyes ( and the rest of PC) to get her ELQ shares back, but also, helped Maxie.
My head is spinning trying to keep up with all the farcical stuff going around. It’s like an infectious disease. When it rains, it pours.
Then, there’s Curtis and his “Savoy”—really? The name denotes class and money. The Savoy Hotels are quite pricey, as well. Savoia, or Savoy is the name of the Italian Royals ( The House of Savoy, whose dynasty goes back to the 11th Century).
It just doesn’t make any sense—of all possible names?
Waiting with bated breath —hope most of all these mini-plots and suspense get resolved before the school year starts.
I’ll believe Ramsey is gone when he is removed from the Friday cast credits. All that’s been confirmed is that Peter is dead.
Please don’t pull a Easton/Howarth move and bring him back as another character.
With Peter still being considered alive (except by Finn and Elizabeth) the Maxie/BLQ storyline can progress. Anna can go an extended search (allowing for Finola’s traditional months-long summer break).
They will keep him around and he will appear like his daddy did for years to come! The only problem is Wes cannot hold a candle to Anders!
Too good to be true for Peter to be dead–at this point it’s anyone’s guess. Who knows what the mercurial writers will do from one day to the next.
However, I must commend them on Chase’s supposed dying scene. Whether he lives or dies, I was moved to tears —-We’ve all expeienced a scene such as this, so close to home—family members gathered around. It was so real—the acting was exceptional,, as well; especially Josh—and, the make-up people did an awesome job—Chase certainly did resemble someone who is very close to taking his last breath—-
I hope that’s not the case. Please do not let Chase die!!
Celia, you read my mind AGAIN. I was a pile of water when Chase said goodbye to little Violet. I hoped this story would show Josh as more than just an incredibly pretty face and he really delivered. So touching. As for Peter, I’ll be grateful for even just a break from seeing him. The one who’s really on my nerves is Dante. I swear, a garden gnome has better policing instincts!
Soaphound
Hi, I really got a laugh out of Austin and Dante , but whoever cut/chopped Austin’s hair must hate him!
I think I have the answer to the hair issue, Violet. Poor Roger must have gone to a local beauty parlor where trainees can practice on customers in exchange for a free cut. But, this looks like the trainee was blindfolded as well as inexperienced. Ugh! It really stands out since Chase’s hair has grown in the hospital and makes him even more gorgeous.
Soaphound
You are too funny, but glad we can laugh at poor Roger’s expense. Next I’ll be waiting for him to appear in a little green suit like they wear in the Alps.
Seriously though I can’t wait to see what his interest is in the Q’s board meeting that he was reading about.
What can I say, Soaphound—-great minds think alike? LOL.
Even in sickness, Chase is gorgeous—that face looks like it was chiseled by the master-painter himself, il Signor Michelangelo!! Never mind David!! —albeit I’d love to see a facsimile of Chase in Times Square instead of la Galleria dell’Accademia in Florence, Italy.
Seiously, Soaphound—-Josh’s performance brought out every single tormented fiber of my being in which I had not experienced in a very long time ( the passing of my baby), albeit I expected so much more emotional “outbreak” from his “mother”.
Thus, for me, it means only one thing—-in his quiet, unassuming way, Josh outdid himself.
Peter? Oh, Happy Day, if I never lay eyes on him again!!
General Hospital
GH and OLTL Alum Patrick J. Gibbons Reveals the Story Behind Writing Trina’s Song on ‘General Hospital’ (Exclusive)

At the conclusion of today’s August 21 episode of General Hospital, Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) sings a lullaby to baby Dez, that went into a montage to close out the episode as her father Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) reports to Pentonville and winds up in his jail cell.
However, in a fun fact, the song entitled, “A Lonely Heart To Give” was actually written by none other than former One Life to Live and General Hospital actor, Patrick J. Gibbons.
Daytime fans first met Gibbons as Sam Manning on One Life to Live. At the time, when he started on the soap, he was just 5-years-old. Gibbons played the part from 2010-2013 on ABC and Prospect Park’s editions of the show. Fast-forward to 2018, Gibbons shows up on General Hospital as Wyatt Hoover, the scout who seemed always be injured, but in the thick of the drama. Patrick had appeared on GH multiple times as Wyatt including: 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023.

FROM HIS GRANDMOTHER’S DEATH CAME THE INSPIRATION FOR HIS SONG
Now in 2026, General Hospital fans are getting to learn about another side of Gibbons’ talent as a songwriter and guitar player after “A Lonely Heart to Give” debuted today! Michael Fairman TV caught up with Patrick, who is now a senior at Penn State entering his final year as a finance major, to get the back-story of how his song wound up on GH!
Gibbons explained he wrote the song in honor of his grandmother who passed away a few years ago with whom he was, very, very close with. “Randomly, my grandmother had a downfall and passed away during the second semester of my sophomore year. I was in my dorm a lot and I was just playing with my guitar. And at the time, I was really into finger-style playing. I wrote the lyric and music to it (with a little help from my guitar teacher Lou), and my mom showed the rough demo to Frank Valentini (EP, General Hospital). He’s like an uncle to me. Frank loved it so much he said, “Finish that up. I want to hear the whole thing, and I want it on the show.”
MAKING MUSIC FOR GENERAL HOSPITAL
Gibbons and his parents took the next steps! “So now, all we needed was a female voice, because I thought that would fit the song well,” Patrick shared. “At the golf club we go to my parents were at a dinner. They liked the singer that was performing and spoke to her about the song, and she says she would like to bring it to her ‘boss’ who ended up being Eric Bazilian of the Hooters fame!” (Bazilian also wrote the smash hit song “One of Us” for Joan Osborne).
Next, “We went in the studio and recorded it and the song came together and it was beautiful. We loved it. They loved it at General Hospital and now they’re putting it the show and they are coming in with a piano, instead of a guitar. Paul Glass, the GH musical director, has been keeping us updated over the last six months of how it was coming along, and when it would air, and how GH put their own arrangement to it. I can’t wait to see and hear what they did with it.”

PATRICK’S ONE LIFE TO LIVE FAMILY
Everyone knows that the One Life to Live extended family share a very tight bond, and Patrick said he does stay in touch with a few of his former One Life to Live co-stars, especially those from the Manning family! “I stayed in touch with Kassie DePaiva (ex-Blair) and sent her little videos here and there. She was like my second mom for five years. We keep in contact with Kristen Alderson (ex-Starr) over X the most, and she can’t believe how big I’ve gotten. Like, none of them can! (laughs). I also loved working with Roger Howarth (ex-Todd) and Trevor St. John (ex-Todd and Victor Jr.), and to me since I was so young, they were just my friends, ‘Roger and Trevor,’ not Todd Manning or Victor Jr.”
It was a trip to California and a visit to Port Charles that ultimately led to Gibbons second soap role of Wyatt Hoover. Patrick explains, “In 2016, Frank Valentini invited us out to Los Angeles to visit the set of General Hospital. I think he heard me say, ‘This is so much fun. I miss being on the set.’ He goes, ‘You should come out. I’ll bring you on the show. We can make you a character.'”
A few years later, Patrick’s dream became a reality! “Then, by the summer of 2018, I was playing Wyatt, the scout, and shared scenes with Wes Ramsey (Peter August), and the best was when I shared a scene with Roger Howarth and Michael Easton (ex-John, OLTL and ex-Silas, Finn et al, GH), it was like chemistry from the old days.”

IT’S ALL IN THE NUMBERS
As to his future aspirations, it’s a career in the finance game that has piqued Gibbons’ real-life interest. But never say never to a return to acting. Patrick explained, “I’ve always enjoyed numbers. And on top of that, one of the biggest parts of finance is being personable and outgoing.”
He continued, “That’s one of the greatest skills I developed growing up. I really love the markets. I’m super interested. I’m never going to close the door to acting. I’m always open to that because I just love it so much. It’s such a great art.”
Take note! If there are any investment bankers or private equity folks among the GH faithful looking for a young analyst next year, Patrick’s DMs are open. You can find him on X at @PatrickJGibbons.”
So, what did you think of the song sung by Trina on today’s GH that was written by Patrick J. Gibbons? Did you enjoy Patrick’s performances as One Life’s Sam and GH’s Wyatt? Would you like to see him back on GH at some point? Let us know via the comment section.

‘General Hospital’ Alum Chad Duell Admits That He Didn’t Expect the Role of Michael Corinthos to be Recast, and Would Consider Working on Another Soap (Exclusive)

Chad Duell, the Daytime Emmy-winning actor, who stepped away from the pivotal role of Michael Corinthos on General Hospital, opened up about: his previous decision to leave the series after nearly 15 years, where’s he’s at now after time away from the demands of a daytime soap opera, and took a stroll down memory lane with some of Michael’s most-acclaimed storyline during his run, during a livestream chat on August 19 on You Tube’s Michael Fairman Channel.
Viewers last saw Duell on-screen as Michael in January of 2025, and with his successor in the role, Rory Gibson making his debut at the GH Nurses’ Ball in episodes that aired later in May. It was clear that during the conversation, Chad was a bit surprised that the GH brass decided to recast him when he thought he was just taking some much needed time off.
Burn-out of the daily grind of being on a soap was definitely a part of Chad’s decision to take a break. Duell explained “People know when you’re doing something for so long or your character is kind of in the same place for so long or doing the same stuff over and over again, you do get a a little burnt out, you get a little stiff, stale, a little stiff at times. I didn’t want that to be any sort of lasting impression. I have 15 years of a body of work of I’ve done on that show, which is fantastic.”

WHILE CHAD WAS AWAY GH RECAST MICHAEL CORINTHOS WITH RORY GIBSON
Chad shared, his mindset when leaving GH was, “I’m taking some time away, we’ll see what happens.” Then he added, “Obviously, they decided to go in a different direction with Michael when I was gone. I didn’t think they were going to bring somebody back in my place. But you know, it’s the business. You never know what can happen.”
Duell also shared he has not watched a single episode of General Hospital since he left the series, but now feels he reenergized following the loss of his father and stepping away from the GH, “I’m in a place now mentally, where I’m ready to sink my teeth into it again.”

Even though he is no longer Michael on GH, Chad was very happy with his final storyline where Michael was set on fire when a bomb exploded at Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) penthouse. “It was fun to put him in a dangerous situation, because I was wanting Michael to be in something scary instead of trying to be a hero character or just things happening around him, but to be the center point of tragedy happening to him. (I always saw) Michael as the heart of the (Corinthos) family.”
When Michael was badly burned the show chose not burn his face, which normally a soap does when they are recasting role and switching actors. Chad weighed-in, “They didn’t burn my face because I told Frank Valentini (EP, GH) I’m willing to come back. It was just a little bit of a break. So, I assumed that if they would have burned my face, they could have brought somebody back looking different than me… if that’s what their plan was.”

MEMORABLE MICHAEL STORYLINES
One of Chad’s most memorable performances was the in the storyline of Michael’s rape while he was sentenced to prison in 2010 and the confession of it in 2011. “It was so well-written and I was very nervous,” recalled Chad. “When I get really nervous about something, it ends up being really good when I do it, because it just means I care a lot about it”
“I have to put a lot of effort and work into it, and I really want it to be good. I was working with Dominic Zamprogna (Dante) and Steve Burton (Jason) a lot during those scenes, and Laura Wright (Carly). It was great working with Steve and Dominic, especially, during that storyline.
A NEW SOAP ROLE FOR CHAD?
As to a future soap opera role, Chad is open to the idea and would love to jump back in to a juicy role, “I know people over at The Bold and the Beautiful, and The Young and the Restless. They know that if they’re interested, I would love to come in for a screen test or something, and they can see what I’m doing.”
Meanwhile, Chad has been busy putting out new music under the moniker Duelly and during the interview he explains how he creates his EDM tracks and much more. You can stream his latest single, Static in the Quiet Room on Spotify, Apple Music and You Tube Music.
You can check out the full conversation with Chad Duell below.
Now let us know: what show would you like to see Chad cast on down the line? BTG, DAYS, B&B, Y&R, or a new role on GH? What did you think of his thoughts on the casting switch while he was away in the role of Michael? What was your favorite Michael storyline during Chad’s 15-year run on the ABC soap opera? GENERAL HOSPITAL: Ric’s History of Jealousy Where Elizabeth is Concerned Has Come Back Around

On General Hospital, Ric Lansing (Rick Heart) is about to fall back into dangerous old patterns by the foreshadowing during the Wednesday, August 19 episode. After first coming to see his brother, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and telling him of his plan to propose to Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) his longtime love tonight, Sonny has concerned.
Next, Sonny reminds his brother of what has happened in the past, when things have gone south with Elizabeth and wonders if it’s too soon for him to propose to her. What Ric did not tell Sonny is that he has seen the developing closeness between Sonny’s son, Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) and Elizabeth, which is propelling his urgent need to propose.
Meanwhile, Dante ran into Elizabeth at the park during a break from their mutual team softball games. She needs help with a bookcase after the game at her house. Dante wants to put it together for her. Later, Dante arrived at Elizabeth’s house, limping after injuring his knee during the game. Head nurse Liz wanted to check out the injury as much as Dante protested, which required him to take off his pants.

RIC BEGINS TO UNRAVEL
Outside Elizabeth’s widow, Ric arrives with a bouquet of roses and the engagement ring. When he leers through the widow he is shocked to see Elizabeth rubbing Dante’s leg while Dante is in his boxer/shorts. He storm troops into the house, demanding to know what is going on here? Both Elizabeth and Dante look surprised by his reaction. In the pick-up of today’s Thursday, August 20 episode (see GH video teaser below), viewers will learn the upshot for all three characters.
A VENGEFUL PAST
As longtime GH fans know, Ric has done some horrible, vengeful things in regards to Elizabeth starting back in 2003 after she lost her baby after Ric’s ex, Faith Rosco pushed her down a flight of stairs. Ric accused Sonny for the accident and to get revenge, Ric kidnapped Carly (who was married to Sonny at the time), and stashed her in a panic room below the house where he was living with Liz.
On top of that, Ric fed his wife Elizabeth birth control pills to keep her from getting pregnant so that they could raise Carly’s baby together after it was born. Eventually, Elizabeth found Carly in the panic room but ended up having a pulmonary embolism. When she woke up in the hospital, Elizabeth was all confused by what happened, and Ric convinced her that her vision of Carly was just a bad dream. Eventually, Elizabeth learned the horrifying truth and divorced Ric.
Years later, Ric noticed the connection between Elizabeth and “Jake Doe” who eventually turned out to be Drew (Billy Miller) A jealous Ric hired Hayden Barnes to show up and claim to be “Jake’s” wife. Elizabeth stepped aside, and when Ric planned to propose to Elizabeth at the 2015 Nurses Ball, Carly exposed his manipulations, and Elizabeth dumped him yet again. And those are just two examples of the lengths Ric will go to for Elizabeth!
So, we ask you, given the history of Elizabeth and Ric, how do you see this playing out with Dante in the picture? How will Ric derail their growing bond? Share your thoughts via the comment section below.
