GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Recalls His Promise to Michael, Josslyn Calls Willow “A Skank”, Carly and Drew Have a Showdown
At General Hospital, Anna (Finola Hughes) and Chase (Josh Swickard) are checking in on the situation with Michael and talk with Carly and Josslyn, promising to get to the bottom of how this explosion happened in the first place. They assure the two they will do everything they can do figure out who perpetrated and set the explosion to go off.
Next, Diane (Carolyn Hennesy) arrives. She looks into Michael’s room and sees that he is hooked up to ventilators and badly burned. Diane then says that Michael filed for divorce and Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) was served with the papers last night while in her hotel room with Drew in D.C.
Josslyn, who has been on the edge over Dex’s death, can’t take it, and walks away pissed off by what she heard. Diane has a legal plan to neutralize Willow by seizing custody of Amelia and Wiley and informs Carly.

Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Jason go back to the penthouse and each blame themselves for Michael being collateral damage. Then, Sonny says he wants them to go after who ever did this to Michael, but Jason voices his concern and reminds Sonny they talked about an exit strategy, and they have to get out soon, because Jason can not risk something happening to Danny as it did to Michael.
Willow is trying to get to the hospital to see Michael. Drew (Cameron Mathison) is already there and runs into Curtis (Donnell Turner), who wants him to leave. Back at Nina’s (Cynthia Watros), Martin (Michael E. Knight) shows up and tells Willow they have to move fast for her to be granted temporary custody of the children, which will help her case later on to get full custody. She doesn’t agree, and heads to the hospital.

Then, Martin shares a huge piece of intel with Nina – Michael made Willow his medical proxy. He says that when things get ugly, they can use Willow’s position as leverage. Martin says Willow needs to know about this power, but Nina thinks she would never use it unless faced with no choice. However, Nina looks like she has a plan.
Now at GH, Willow runs straight into an upset Joss and asks how Michael is. Joss says, “Like, you give a damn!” She goes in on Willow that while Michael was getting burned in a fire, she was in D.C. having sex with Drew, and with Wiley in the next room, no less. Willow says she thought Joss, of all people, would give her some grace knowing relationships can be complex and difficult.

Joss admits it was wrong of her to cheat with Dex, while she was still seeing Cameron Webber, but they weren’t married, and they didn’t have children. Willow says she and Michael are separated and he served her with divorce papers. At that point, Joss is angry and in tears, going on on Willow for her thinking she’s better than everyone else. She yells, “Wake up! You lying, faithless skank. Michael gave you everything, and you repaid him by literally screwing him over.” Willow tells Joss, there are two sides to every story and Michael was not perfect in their relationship.

In a heartbreaking moment no mother should have to bear, Lucas (Van Hansis) tells Carly the debridement team will be coming to do a check on Michael and his burns. He feels it’s better for Carly to step away from the window and to not watch this as it will be very difficult for her. She doesn’t want to leave her son, but hugs Lucas, and leaves and exits.
Now, in the hospital chapel, Carly prays to God for her son. Suddenly, Drew shows up He says wants her to know how sorry he is about what happened to Michael. Carly says she can’t believe she missed how self-involved he is. Drew reminds her that he cared enough about her to go to Pentonville to protect her!
Carly tells Drew that he took the rap for her because he thought he would get a minor slap on the wrist, and instead, he got to be a martyr. Drew says she can attack him all she wants, but Michael is lying in critical condition in the burn unit because of her, and she knows it!
Jason has arrived at the hospital, and gets an update from Lucas that the debridement team is taking care of Michael. In that moment, (GH did the right thing here), Jason flashes back to when he held Michael as a baby, and promised to keep him safe. Coming back to the present, Jason asks if he can sit with Michael after the team is done. Lucas says that he can. Next, Jason with tears in his eyes and in a hospital gown sits down next to Michael. In that moment, Michael opens his eyes while in unimaginable pain.
Elsewhere, Kristina (Kate Mansi) has been unable to bring herself to see Michael. She is up on the hospital roof where Sonny finds her, and gets her to admit what she’s scared of. Finally, she looks through the hospital window and sees Michael, as her sister, Molly (Kristen Vaganos), shows up to support her.
At Nina’s, Diane arrives with Chase and a second officer. She announces they have to take Amelia and Wiley home where they belong and produces a court order. Nina says Willow is at the hospital checking on Michael and begs Diane not to do this to the kids.
So, what did you think of the emotional moments featuring Jason, Carly and Josslyn and how this exit story is playing out thus far for Chad Duell as Michael? Share your thoughts in the comment section.
Slight wardrobe error there. All the visitors to Mikey’s room have to wear gloves and the disposable yellow gowns which is standard protocol, but they also have to wear surgical masks for the same reason. How did Jason get in that room without a mask on?
As for the “faithless skank” Willow and Hallmark Drew blaming everybody but themselves… don’t even get a Devil started.
It’s kind of like SVU and other cop shows. The day players are in full tactical or hazmat gear while the stars all have clear faces and no helmets.
Kudos to Eden for nailing her scenes.
Willow deserves every condemnation that comes her way.
As for Drew – how did the grandson of Edward and Lila Quartermaine turn into the most disliked character on the show? Is there any possible redemption?
The writers had an interesting pairing with Drew & Nina, then threw it away for a pairing disliked by so many. Drew is almost the new Peter.
If I didn’t know better I would think they brain mapped Drew again when he was in prison and this time the upload was either from Shiloh or the Billy Warlock version of AJ. Because he’s acting more like a hybrid of those two than the older version of Drew Cain.
I see the string Shiloh resemblance but I don’t see Warlock’s AJ. Thought he brought a vulnerability and sweetness to the role and I don’t see that in Drew.
Willow’s response perplexed me. I saw no guilt, no remorse, no tears but I did see incongruous self- righteousness as seen when she told Joss that she and Michael are separated and that he served her with divorce papers. Willow was presenting her case as if she were served with papers BEFORE she slept with Drew in the playroom. The actress is perfectly capable of emoting so it must be both the writing and the direction that is making her play this part as an unlikeable shrew.
This Friday’s show was hot, hot, hot! The confrontations were loaded, and no one was holding back. The heart strings were tapped hard as Diane showed up to take the kids from Nina and family was there to support each other. Great show!
Joslyn did herself proud by telling off that skanky Willow !
I think Kate and Cynthia deserve Emmy nods for keeping straight faces when Joss shrilled,” Lying liars who lie!” In a delivery reminiscent of a 12 year old having a tantrum.
I wish Joss could have found a better name to call Willow rather than “skank.” That’s low brow middle school mean girl speech. It kind of ruined Joss’s tantrum.
Oh but Harry, it fits Willow so perfectly! I can’t even think of an “adult” term that works for what she is.
You’re right. I guess Jezebel, trollop, cheap tart, strumpet or hussy would be sound a bit old fashioned.
Hey you guys, being a lot older than you, I kind of just like SLUT myself, The first kiss could have been an “oops” BuT after that, it was go for broke, no accident there., like eating potato chips!
I have no problem with Willow having shared custody. If she uses her medical power of attorney to hurt Michael’s family, they need to bring this to the Judge’s attention. Drew needs to be gone and not raise Michael’s kids. Sleeping with his niece is disgusting. I hope they write the character out soon.
Drew and Willow are nasty. What she’s done to Michael because of Drew shame on them.
Drew is reminding me of Cyrus. Acts like a savior then shows true colors when confronted. I can’t remember his connection to Cyrus when he was in prison. Are we going to learn Cyrus blackmailed him or programmed him in some way? I mean Jeez! Even when Sonny was doing insane things last year at least we eventually learned his medication was being compromised.
Drew is a Narcissist and he is manipulating Willow. She was in a cult so she dose whatever Drew & Nina tell her to do. I think it was very odd that Willow and Michael haven’t even talked since the video came out at the Quartermains. Willow doesn’t even know that her mother sent divorce papers to Michael first. Had they talked they would probably still be together. Let’s not forget Willow is going to feel the shit when she finds out Nina & Drew were sleeping together. That’s so gross how Drew can Sleep with Nina then turn around and sleep with her daughter.♀️ I hope Michael gets better and ends up with Sasha and has full custody of his kids.
Love Eden Mccoy. This girl is a power house actress!
I goofed up below. Was trying to say, can’t wait until she nails Cyrus, not bails, and then I almost made it worse!
I don’t like the new guy playing Brennan. Just doesn’t have the the same sex appeal! What happened the the other guy?

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).
Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.
Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON
Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”
Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).
Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.
“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?
During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.
Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.
You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.
Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.
Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.
As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY
Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.
Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.
Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.

WSB WAR SCARS
Then, in one of the best parts for longtime fans of the series, Elizabeth talks about her legendary grandparents, Audrey and Steve Hardy and she tells Tracy they would have wanted Sonny to have a seat on the board for all the good that he has done for the hospital. After Elizabeth states Sonny’s case, things took a turn and Tracy and Sonny wound up shaking hands as Sonny is board member #16.
In the how great was it to see Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) together scenes department, the pick-up of last Friday’s cliffhanger is played out as the two former lovers fill each other in on what has gone down in their lives in the last several months including Valentin admitting he had been living in Carly’s attic, and Anna realizing she was kidnapped by Cullum, Sidwell and Cassius Faison. During their conversation, Anna sees the hallucination of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) right while Valentin is standing there.

Courtesy/ABC
Later Anna was on her way to saying goodbye to Valentin, when the two share an emotional hug. After Valentin made his exit, Peter reappeared and warned Anna to not let Valentin distract her because she has important work to do. Anna answers, “I know.”
So, what did you think of General Hospital’s 16,000 episode? What do you think is wrong with Jason? What is the important “work” that Anna has to do? Were you glad to see Sonny get a seat on the hospital board, or not so much. Weigh-in via the comment section. But first, check out the scenes on Jason and Tristan’s long flight to Port Charles.
