GH's Marc Anthony Samuel Confirms He Is Off-Contract & On Recurring Status Stating: "Onward and Upward!"

There will be a little less Felix is Port Charles, as Marc Anthony Samuel confirmed via his Twitter account that he has been taken off-contract at General Hospital and that he has indeed gone to recurring status with the ABC soap opera.

Marc tweeted after the outpouring of love and support shown to him by GHers,  “Hey fans, thanks for the support. GH is just a small part of a great and ongoing journey. Onward and upward! To be clear guys, I’m recurring. Not on contract though.”

With so many stories playing out on GH these days, and the series at this point playing the romance of Brad (Parry Shen) and Lucas (Ryan Carnes), is Felix now truly the odd man out?

So, what do you think of Marc being taken-off contract? Would you like to see more of Felix on the Port Charles canvas? Comment below!

I would have liked to see more of Marc/Felix. He is such good support for Lucy and Sabrina. I hope that he would be put back on contract soon. I’m going to miss him!

The actor has charisma & talent. He should find something on primetime soon. Felix’s days were numbered when he hitched his wagon to the Sabrina train, who herself is left without much to do these days.

KansasGuest said it perfectly!

Isn’t RC and PS also recurring? I am sure they will still use Felix.

It’s too bad, the character had potential that was never realized due to the writing. First as Sabrina’s propper and then part of a very poorly conceived and extremely stereotyped gay triangle. Very unfortunate because Marc is a very good actor as well.

What is all the high priced “talent” getting the show anyway? The ratings are no better since Stafford has been on and Billy Miller did absolutely nothing, just like Howarth and Easton etc did nothing. All these so called “great actors” just come to GH and play themselves portraying their former characters and don’t bring any viewers, or they drive away as many as they bring because the ratings are stagnant and at times worse, so take your pick.

You mean to tell me you don’t like Carly from Oakdale, Phyliss, Billy & Abby from Genoa City, Todd, John & Starr from Llanview in Port Charles taking up all the oxygen say it isn’t so.

The actor Rick Hearst/Ric has played on B&B DOOL & Y&R also and each role he played was totally different the only way you could tell it was the same actor was his face. He would be what I would say a good solid performer and yet RC brings him back to quick write him out in some silly plot. This is the stuff that makes you go WHY?

Yes, Rick Hearst is a fantastic actor. It is an insult to actors of his caliber when people refer to Howarth as great. When you watch Rick Hearst, you see the character he is creating. When you watch Howarth, you see the actor doing stuff, doing schtick, hamming it up for the camera and his fans. When you see the actor and not the character, it is a fail.

That’s what TPTB think people want. To have a segment of fans watch their actor crushes and pretend they are great. How much was made of Howarth pretending to eat popcorn and talking about it as some great acting performance. I’ve never seen anything so ridiculous.

If these actors have brought any fans to the show, they have driven away just as many if you do the math on the ratings. It’s too bad that a great actor and GH vet like Ric does not have a major role, same goes for John J York’s Mac Kristina Wagner’s Felicia, Lynn Herring, Jon Lindstrom etc. All fine actors and soap icons. And it’s a shame about Marc/Felix because he’s a young talent.

Instead we get a freak show of characters played by scenery chewers and hams, and the new/younger actor they focus on is an underwear model.

Ha I thought I was the only one that notice these people basically come on another soap and play the same character they formally played. In my opinion it’s kind of how you can tell if someone is an outstanding actress/actor or not.I think Mrs.Tamara Bruan is one of the few who played different characters and you could tell the difference. She played crazy dark haired Ava Vitali on Days in 2008. Then came back in 2011 and played a sweet blonde haired Taylor Walker etc. I really hate when actors/actress do not differ their multiple roles in Soaps..

This is a tad off point but as long as we’re speaking of vets…I never realized how…errrr…not good an actress Kristina Wagner is. She was the gorgeous love of Frisco’s life…the adventurous…and back in the day she was a pivotal and great character to watch. But in the few scenes she’s had since her return I find her so over-the-top…even in the smallest scenes. If she cries she looks like a quiveering-lipped little girl, if she’s supposed to be talking to her campaign supporters she looks like she’s in a musical bobbing her head to some accompanying beat from The Music Man. Love that she’s back for the nostalgia…the wistful look back.

GH50 In case you might not have caught my sarcasm because as I read my post again it came out different then I intended I agree with you completely about the actors from the other soaps. They do not work for me at all!

Agree completely and now I am going to go have a glass of wine to salute another poster who thinks like me. 🙂 i

GH50, always such a positive and pleasant poster!

GH has been fantastic lately, sorry you’re not enjoying it.

To answer one of your comments, the GH vets have been used very well in the recent storylines. Everyone has been acknowledging the work of Kin Shriner, Jackie Zeman, Lynn Herring, Finola Hughes, Ian Buchanan etc. I love John York, Kristina Wagner, all the names you mentioned, beloved, iconic characters all. But unfortunately, it’s not 1994 anymore. They’re not leading, front burner characters in 2014. But as supporting players, absolutely, and the show has done a great job using it’s very deep and very talented pool of veteran actors. They did a storyline about Felicia running for Mayor, so it’s obvious they still plan to use and write for the veteran characters.

But the GH you seem to want, the GH of old, that’s not realistic anymore, I’m sorry to say. Everything moves with the times, and as a show you can either keep up with the times, or you don’t exist anymore. Plain and simple.

Yep you need to accept leftovers for fillet mignon! Not! Hang in there GH50 you are not alone!

Dan, what is keeping up with the times? Having Todd Manning and Y&R’s Phyllis dominating the show? They started out around 1994 didn’t they? They’re actors who are around 50 years old aren’t they? And then there’s 74 year Old Donna Mills right? All very new and fresh. And of course the point was about the caliber of acting which is sorely missing,

GH50, I’m curious and I ask this in all sincerity in an effort to understand better where you’re coming from. If you were in charge of GH, which characters would you like to see featured?

As far as the caliber of acting, in my opinion as someone that has watched the show for about 20 years now, and the opinion of the vast majority of the comments and articles I’ve read on this site and others, the acting on GH is the best it’s been in years.

The show has been getting rave reviews not only from fans, but from people that cover soaps for a living. Michael Logan from TV Guide whose opinion I respect very much called last week’s episodes the best week GH has had in years, he even said perhaps the best since 1994. That’s very high praise coming from someone like him, who has been covering soaps and TV in general for decades.

So while you are certainly entitled to your opinion, you and k/kay are in the small minority on this one.

What is this storyline your talking about for the vets? Being throw in one scene and rehashing what just happened on screen is not a storyline. Maybe if they were air hogging your post would be true. One scene in 6 months is not a storyline.

Ps Dan GH50 and k/Kay’s opinions are hardly the ” small majority” Look around you’d be surprised how many actually have those same opinions

Well Dan, I’ve seen plenty of reviews from fans discussing GH that don’t find it great. The one’s who do are mostly Roger Howarth fans who followed him here and will basically watch him do anything and applaud but even more than that love to see him do his Todd schtick and that’s what he has been doing.

It depends what sites you go to, if you are talking about SoapCentral, Kroll has shut down all critical thought, deleting post after post, thread after thread and even banning people for doing nothing more than being critical and expressing their dislike of certain things. All that is left are the cheerleaders and very few who are not.

That is why I have so much respect for Michael Fairman. He has an open forum, he does not censor people who are critical like me and that is why I always read his columns and why I only post from time to time, when I really have something to say, as it is not my intention to turn Michael’s site into a war zone between people who like or dislike the current show. I certainly have more opinions than I post here, but out of respect to Mr. Fairman, I pick my spots.

What are some of the things i would like to see on GH in terms of characters?
I want to see GH core families built and thriving. The Q’s, Scorpios, Spencers, Webbers etc. I want to see Lucy running her company with Maxi and Felix. I want to see Kevin as the psychiatrist on staff at the hospital. Mac and Felicia in their rightful roles as a patriarch and matriarch of their family. I want to see Ned and Michael at ELQ for real. The hospital to not be a joke with Dr.O running things and drooling over Franco. Bring on Tommy Hardy and get rid of the day player doctors. Anna as the smart ex super spy she is, with Duke and her family. That would be GH, with new characters, younger characters coming on as members of those families, helping to drive story with the vets, their families. Of course that would all depend on good writing which doesn’t seem possible with this crew anyway.

I’m not interested in Nina and Franco. I’m not amused by Howarth’s Todd sctick. I don’t find him funny and I can’t ever buy Franco because he is Todd. I don’t see the character, I see the actor and that doesn’t work for me. Same for Nina. I have no use for her and her lunacy. On top of that, she is given all this family and screen time for what?

You say Dan how great GH is being received and that I am in the minority, well then where are the ratings? GH was at 2.8 million viewers in Nov of 2012 and two years later still at that number. What has Michelle Stafford done to increase viewership? Or Billy Miller who just came on, another actor who is playing his old, affable/funny/charming character that is so inappropriate for the role he was contracted to play.

Dan, I have to echo what GH50 is saying. If the majority of the comments you are seeing are praising GH, you may need to check out some other sites for contrast (Serial Drama, for example, which has a link from this site—the posters on there are almost uniformly negative about current-GH, so much so that when I pipe up with my “well, it’s a mixed bag” opinions, I look quite positive by comparison). What I’m seeing is a strong split—substantial numbers who think it’s great, substantial numbers who think it’s awful—with someone like me, who sees a good bit to praise and a good bit that’s seriously wrong, seemingly being in the minority at this point. I do respect Michael Logan’s opinion, as you do, but I’ve also noted through the years that he occasionally goes overboard and into hyperbole and gush mode, and I’ve also started taking with a grain of salt the (public) opinion of anyone whose livelihood is tied to the survival of the soaps (they really do need to be cheerleaders and emphasize the positive). I don’t begrudge them the need to temper what they say, but I do try to keep it in context and remember that they may not feel as free to share negative opinions as the rest of us might, and that when they do find a positive, they may feel compelled to amplify it. I take your point about soaps needing to change and evolve, but I think any viewer who has been watching for a while could legitimately gripe about the number of new characters introduced over the last two or three years and the way they have taken over the show; it’s possible to change things and keep the show fresh, but do it with more balance than has been shown (case in point: RC/FV’s first year or 18 months on the show, which struck a much better balance between new characters and existing characters). I have very few complaints about the acting specifically, but I do see Howarth playing Todd rather than doing anything I haven’t seen him do over and over before, and it doesn’t work for me because with the exception of this latest plot point (the failed wedding and the aftermath, which I’d say is a well-executed story with some interesting ramifications), Franco still seems pointless and peripheral, somebody who exists purely so that RH can be on the show. (I will never understand, really, why Franco was the character they chose for him.) I’d still say the show is better than it was during the dark years when it was Sonny-Carly-Jason-All-Mob-All-The-Time (when you think about it, what does it really mean for Michael Logan to say it’s the best it’s been since 1994 when for most of those 20 years it was just awful–certainly I found it difficult to watch and often chose not to), and I’m at least occasionally entertained by it (which I could not say before), but I’d still have to say it’s fairly shallowly written and tends toward caricatures rather than characters and camp over substance, so I can’t disagree with the critics/detractors even though I’m finding a little more to like than many of them do. And I try to weigh carefully how much of the blame I put on FV and RC because I suspect they’re being meddled to death by ABC and doing the best they can under the circumstances. But that’s not to say that I don’t see significant problems.

I just CANNOT BELIEVE THIS…it’s only been six months…SIX MONTHS…and GH50 is trying to introduce a slew of his/her own characters and sending the vet’s off to LALA LAND…UGGHHHH…no sense of continuity or love of fans AT ALL…that’s what we were told to look forward to when he/she took over the show….FIRE GH50…NOW!!! And what’s with all those terrible stories written for the vets??? THIS ISN’T THE RADIO ERA….

I really like Felix but more upset about John York. Mac is an excellent character. they need to man up and write a decent storyline for him. The guy is very cute, and a very good actor. Why don’t they write him a storyline. What an insult. Anyone over about 40 is relegated to the margins except for Sonny.

You must be joking. Alexis, Julian, Ava, Nina, Silas, Jake/Jason, Tracy, Luke, Ned, Olivia, Nicholas, Liesel Obrecht, Carly & Franco have had the majority of the storylines on GH for the past 3 months….and they are ALL over 40 years old. In fact, GH has concentrated less on the age group of 25 & under, & played more to “older” characters lately. Michael, Lucas, Dante, Lulu, Britt, Elizabeth, Patrick & Sam are not exactly teenagers either. They are all in their mid-30’s.

Sorry to see Felix go to recurring. But GH is so overloaded with characters and talents, it figures some are placed on the back burner. Do wish GH could identify and focus on a few core characters and maybe clean house some more. With so many characters and plots, it is difficult to really become fully engaged as I once did. Minority opinion perhaps, but my opinion nonetheless.

I agree with you Marcia. I hope they see the error of their ways and put him back on contract soon. He’s too good to lose.

Marc Anthony Samuel /Felix is still with us!!:)
the recurring have many stories, are active..
All is well … gives him a chance to find other projects..
young actors seem to like that option..

I agree – this is not a big deal. They can still use Felix as much as they want/need until he finds another gig. Many GH characters are recurring, such as: Dr. O, Brad, Milo, Felicia, Lucy, Duke, Epiphany, Diane, etc. and we still see them often. Some (like Dr. O) we see more than some contract players!

Felix was written way too “one note” to have longevity. He was supposed to be Sabrrrrrrrrrrina’s bestie but really all he did was over involve himself and belie their friendship by constantly outing her secrets. He was way too stereotypical. Hopefully RC writes him with a bit more depth or cuts him loose so he can shine elsewhere.

I’m Caucasian, but I fully appreciate & recognize the need for diversity & ethnicity on soaps. When Sean’s character was introduced I thought he showed potential with the PTSD material. Now the character is a boring dud. TJ & Taylor do well, but we see less of TJ these days. I say all that to say that less of Felix/Marc means less representation of AA/ethic characters. I know the character annoyed some but I thought it was a nice change of pace from the usual suspects. And it seems as if RC never intended for his character to find love. Please, do not replace him with more new characters unless they are strongly tied to the core families. Example- Tommy Hardy JR or a long lost son of AJ.

Recurring characters often play major roles in more than one episode, sometimes being the main focus.
Felix will be on screen..
recurring is not as bad as some believe it to be..
a high percent of soap casts are recurring..
Full contracts are for the popular stars, usually..

su0000 how astute of you!!! You are so right. Recurring often means less salary and suddenly a surge of your character all over every story on the canvas. Most actors I venture to say would contemplate what’s worse..a little less money or the chance to sink your teeth into multiple story arcs and suddenly become a contract player all over again?? That’s how it usually works. Expect to see Felix in the coming months in another big storyline…I have no doubt it’s in the works as other stories play out and Spring or Summer comes back around. As an actor i would LOVE LOVE LOVE IT…enjoy the holidays…enjoy the down time and get ready to be front and center once again.

GH could find a way to reintroduce long lost/forgotten grandkids of the Mary Mae Ward and Edward Quartermaine love affair.

DO YOU WATCH SOAPS!!! Nothing was more exciting than when Agnes Nixon introduced Carla, Sadie and ED…then to keep up with the times…Jesse and Angie…that was late 60’s into the 80’s along with Frank and Nancy on AMC…ROFLMAO…diversity…by the 80’s diversity meant invent another FULL family…NOT hire ethnic actors…OMGEEZY WEEZY!!!

Yes, davlestev1, the characters you mention were big parts of those soaps back in the day…. and despite being very young at the time, I remember them all well. I also recall how they had integral storylines that meshed with the rest of those from their perspective casts….I never looked at them as being “minorities” solely put there for the sake of “diversity,” quotas or trying to prove a point. It was simply good storytelling with fine actors…much like GH’s Asian Quarter arc or SB’s many Latin characters back in the 1980’s….that’s why I am so against the current craze of stunt casting just for the sake of saying a show, any show, has that much ballyhooed and hackneyed term, “diversity.” It has too often become the main goal instead of actually producing a great show with gripping drama and the best performers possible.

(PS) Brad and (MS) Lucas were always on recurring. So now all the gay characters are even. But they get no screen time.

This is too bad he has so much potential so much more than yucky brad

Personally, I hoped so much that Brad and Britt would go down for their crimes against Lulu and Dante’s baby, and then Lucas would be with Felix, and they would move back to Seattle together. Good way to get rid of 4 underused, and not really needed characters.

I always enjoy Felix, but they haven’t used him much lately.

I’ll miss Felix. His character had such a nice disposition without being sucky in the middle of all of the other drama and chaos that’s been going on. But I do agree with others that he needed more of a storyline beyond a temporary love triangle and Sabrina’s bestie.

The GH cast needs purging and Felix was a good place to start. Hope Sabrina is next.

Couldn’t have said it better myself. Felix isn’t an important enough character to keep in contract. Britt too, I’m glad she was demoted. After Sabrina, I predict it will be T.J. (since we see so little of him anyway, and I believe Tequan Richmond is on contract still) and then Shawn and Jordan.

Now all the gay characters are recurring. We barely see them now. I just fear that we will see them even less and they will never have a story of their own. Even Brad’s friend Britt is now on recurring. They were gone for 6 weeks not that long ago. If that’s going to be the norm, what’s the point of having gay characters at all.

I don’t think this is a slam against gay characters, and Britt’s demotion doesn’t have anything to do with it. Kelly Thiebaud expressed the desire to branch out of daytime, and I think Marc Antony Samuel should do the same. He’s a good actor and I think he would do very well in primetime.

As for the storylines, there is so much going on right now, and so many important plot points, like the fallout of the Hallowedding, Fluke’s reveal, Jake/Jason, Nina stealing Ava’s baby, etc… that it’s hard to incorporate every contract character. And being on recurring isn’t a bad thing. Kathleen Gati (Dr. O) is on recurring and we see her all the time. Felicia, Bobbie, Scott, Lucy, they’re all on recurring and have stories of their own. So this isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

Jimmy…Felicia, Bobbie, Scott, Lucy…yes…we “see” them all the time. That’s all we do. See them. And, it’s barely sometimes. When was the last time a major story involved any of these characters. Mac and Felicia pop up occasionally in his bar, Lucy goes to see them at said bar, and Bobbie is either wearing a bathrobe at Scott’s or sitting on the couch at Carly’s house. Not exactly scintillating stories or much airtime. They’re just fillers who add a touch of vintage GH.

@rebecca1…..As you know, I am always one with a wish list for legacy characters to return to GH….Frisco, Noah, Blackie, Scorpio, Ethan, Lucky, Laura, Holly, and assorted Cassadines, et al. (And yes, our beloved AJ?) We could never “see” enough of these reminders of “vintage GH,” as you put it…however, the current crop of oldies to which we are now “treated” do absolutely nothing for me…I have already commented about Felicia, and I’ve also found Mac to be immaterial for quite some time. I never hide the fact that I consider Scotty to be a loathsome, foolish blowhard and Bobbie and Lucy as over-the-hill harlots trying to call attention to themselves in any immoral or outrageous manner required just to be viewed as alluring and relevant. (Uh…..they aren’t.) The last two are especially grating….Nurse Jones looks like an over-inflated blow-up doll plying her past trade, particularly when as she goes strutting around town in that tacky red get-up and Lucy isn’t far behind with her pathetic over-the-top wardrobe and antics, literally champing at the bit to get her hooks into the down-on-his-luck Duke. (Hey, Ms. Coe, keep your grubby man-hands off Mr. Lavery, you sex-hungry shrew, you!) So while you lament that these players of yesteryear are simply filler, I say they are more like a waste of space. (And, no, this is NOT an “age thing.” Some of my favorite characters are Dr. O., Anna, Magda, Heather, and Robert Scorpio, who we need back STAT!)

As for Mac; always love him. He’s, well, Uncle Mac! Love his face, his demeanor…he just adds a sense of stability, reliability, likebility and ocntinuity…all in a very attractive look.

Lucy? Ahhhhhh, Lucy. Love my Lucy Coe! She’s attractive smart and goofy with a heart of gold.

And, yes, I know you don’t like Scott. Love him. He is another character that was always “picked on” and belittled…whichis always frustrating for me because there are NO characters on these shows who can afford to throw stones. They just form a clique and aim at the lone wolf. Scott, too, underneath it all is a good guy who is thwarted at every turn to do his job. And when he’s underhanded? So what…they all are!

I miss many of the characters you mentioned. Until GH wins the lottery, I’m afraid we’re going to have to resort to our scrapbooks as we look back fondly on our past…

I am not surprised. After the fiasco of a feasible (3way) this is not a surprise.I think he deserves,a much better story than that mess. But,he is a very funny, cute,a nice, emotionally good actor sandwich I’m hoping he will be able to get a juicy good SL on another soap,or over @ GH.

The threesome “storyline.” It just seemed as though the writers tried to convey every homosexual stereotype-ridiculous! Came across as awkward and unenjoyable. Not even funny.

Love Felix! He brings a touch of sincerity….there’s something very warm about his eyes…and yet he brings on the levity as well when the scene calls for it. I really hate to get invested in characters that leave or get less airtime way too soon. They should just put all the characters are recurring and rotate the stories so that the “announcements” either to actor or viewer aren’t as upsetting!

Answered you below, rebecca1….for some reason, I could not get my reply posted here…..

on recurring not are

Soooooo let me understand this. One of the few moral characters with a sense of decency who wants a real relationship needs to be seen less often. All the crazies stay on almost daily. Nice!! Just like real-life, I suppose, nice guys finish,,,

I didn’t realize that Marc was even on contract. I don’t recall him being pictured in the opening credits. I thought only the contract actors were featured in the opening credits. Guess not! It’s too bad. I liked the character of Felix-mostly his friendship with Sabrina and Carly and his few scenes with Lucy while planning the Nurse’s Ball. I can’t stomach Brad and Lucas (not because they are gay); I just don’t care for them individually or as a couple. Brad’s best scenes are with Brit-IMO.

This doesn’t surprise me and to be honest, I don’t really care. Felix is not a main character, and even though Marc Antony Samuel is talented, it doesn’t mean GH should keep him on contract. There are so many other storylines going on right now, so many other, more important characters to focus on.

Hopefully Teresa Castillo is next, and she will be gone soon. I can’t stand Sabrina at all, I never liked the character but now after what she did to Ava, I loathe her. She needs to go ASAP.

GH has a lot of characters, and some really have no purpose being on contract. Felix is one of them, so are Sabrina and Britt, and my prediction is that Shawn and Jordan will be demoted next.

Seriously, what is their purpose? Shawn has been a stand-in Jason since he became Sonny’s enforcer, he has no story of his own. And all Jordan does is sleep with Shawn, then hold a gun up to him and say they shouldn’t be sleeping together, and then does it again. Her only tie to the canvas is T.J., and that’s flimsy at best, because we never see T.J. anymore. A side note, is Tequan Richmond still on contract? We haven’t seen much of him or Molly for months now.

Please let him stay and write more good parts for him. He has already proven to be an excellent actor.

BMWMAMIREDHEAD, your post says it all, what your saying tonight to sandwich before.
i agree on each word. and your right, the dumb sill 3some imo was a big joke, waste. i wish felix luck, cute, and diversity is needed,so i m hoping RON CARLIVATI,keep up with the yes diversity, mixture. Many boards agree we need that more. i m agreeing on all that.and he should have a great juicy type story again,he is a fine actor.

the head writer cant write for characters of color and the lGBT characters. he has done a very poor job with Epiphany, Felix, Shawn, Carlos…all interesting characters who are used very little and never have stories of their own. We have been promised a backstory for Sabrina for more than a year and got nothing Jordan has come in with a bang, but I wont hold my breath. The threesome with the three gay male characters was insulting on every level. Its 2014, and this soap has spent more time on short-term actors like Levi than re-occurring minority characters. More troubling the SOAP press never addresses it.

Keep Felix on gh he is Sabrinas rock but I love him keep him in port Charles

Well, rebecca1, you already know my opinion of Felix, as well as his sidekick, Sappy, so I won’t bother to go there again, although suffice to say I certainly wouldn’t be sad to see either one go…okay, I would be ecstatic!!!! Heck, I would consider that an early Christmas present, but what I really wanted to comment on was your assessment of Felicia….oh yeah, I noticed—a LONG time ago– how woefully wanting in the acting department KW was and remains to this day.. Quite frankly, at best I begrudgingly tolerated her only because of Frisco, and once he was gone from her midst, she became an annoying non-entity to me. The very notion that this chirpy chipmunk should be running for mayor is totally ludicrous. Exactly WHAT makes her qualified? Having a history that includes being a terrible, absent mother, demonstrating repeatedly questionable taste in men through the years or just coming off as an otherwise complete ditz???? This is the most contrived, ridiculous storyline, particularly since PC has no shortage of awesome, accomplished women who would make a great “mayoress,” like Anna (despite her recently being dumbed down by Cartini….) Tracy (also despite recently being dumbed down by Cartini….) or my personal choice, Diane Miller!!!! Not only is the lusty lady lawyer fierce and fabulous, she is also smart-as-a-whip and gives great soundbites!!!! Having said that, I, for one, am truly hoping that Felicia loses the recount!!!! Me thinks it’s time for her to take a long trip away from GH along with her hubby, Mac!

GH50 has hit the nail on the head. Seems to me Re-Ron finds old stories and just rips them to pieces. The show stinks. Ric H is a very talented actor , I watched him on GL and he was fine. They keep Mr mumbles and send JJY back to recurring ? Felix and Shawn they can just let go, nothing to do with color, Felix is just a nosey busybody and Shawn I liked at first now he is Jason 2 .They can both leave. All killers for hire can leave no matter what color they are. I like Jordon and TJ .not because of color but because they can both act, and they are not under Sonny’s thumb. FrankenRon have really dumbed down the show.. Serial killers , mobsters , killers who can’t hit the broad side of a barn, and babies , babies, babies. Nina and Franco, etc the show could just film in the mental hospital and be done with it. Half the show is just plain evil and most of the rest is nuts. Anna is also dumbed down so badly keystone cops come to mind running around chasing their own tails. Give me one reason to watch this. Ya people wouldn’t have so many complaints if they didn’t want better for the show they have watched for years. I haven’t been able to care anymore. As for Michael Logan, I guess what someone said is true .If your job is depending on keeping soaps on you have to play the game. we are just viewers we can say what we see. Also, bringing everyone back from the dead. where does Ron get this from. The Walking Dead.?

Previously, in speaking with Soap Opera Digest on the impetus of the event, Grahn recalled, “I was actually doing Zoom events during Covid and I met this woman that I just fell in love with, Michelle Strojny. At the time, Michelle had been living with ALS for four years. Now, it’s five years. She is a mom of a teenage son, she has the most wonderful husband, and she has been dealing with this [disease] for quite a while. And obviously, there isn’t a cure yet. It’s not survivable yet. But as she says, it’s not incurable. Nothing is; it’s underfunded. But anyway, I just really dug this woman. She is so grounded and filled with grace, and she spends all of her time working to raise money for the cause. We did a fundraiser for her last year and then I thought, ‘You know what? The soaps don’t ever get together to do something for charity.’ Collectively, we have this amazing community and we don’t collectively use it for a good cause, and I think it’s such an easy thing for us to do and we could potentially really make a difference.”

As GH viewers know, Gregory Harrison is playing the character of Gregory Chase, who is also battling ALS in a touching storyline that is currently playing out shedding a light on this disease.

‘General Hospital’ Writer Shannon Peace Let Go, and Shares on Sprina: “One of My Only Regrets is to Not Have the Opportunity to Develop That ‘Ship’ Further”

As General Hospital’s new head writing team of Elizabeth Korte and Patrick Mulcahy gets off the ground and running, there are still changes a foot on the writing team.

Now comes word via breakdown writer Shannon Peace that she is no longer on contract with the long-running ABC soap heading into its 61st season. Peace shared a heartfelt message on her Instagram, thanking the fans, and the show for the opportunity and the importance of diversity in the writers room.

Peace began, “After almost 3 years on staff and 106 episodes penned, I am no longer on contract with General Hospital. Writing for this country’s longest running television serial drama has been an education of epic proportions; I will forever be grateful that I earned my WGA card on a daytime fixture that holds memories for so many.” (Peace pictured below with GH EP Frank Valentini and script writer, Charlotte Gibson from about ten months ago).

Shannon added “Even more importantly, as the sole Black breakdown writer (and only POC in the writers room) during my tenure, I pushed for vital interactions and discussions that prioritized inclusion, visibility, and representation”

The writer pointed to the example of vital interaction when in story, “Stella and Portia’s frank July 2022 conversation about the role race played in Esme’s framing of Trina is just one example of the impact I’m gratified to have had.”

Acknowledging former GH co-head writers was also part of Peace’s farewell expressing, “Appreciation to my former bosses, Chris Van Etten and Dan O’Connor – not only taking a chance on me, but for valuing my opinion and championing my voice.”

Many GH fans know that Peace was key to the development of the love story between Trina Robinson and Spencer Cassadine as played by Tabyana Ali and Nicholas Chavez. Shannon gave a special shout-out to ‘Sprina’ fans, “I also want to thank fans who were supportive of my work, especially the recognition of my love for ‘Sprina’. One of my only regrets is not having to develop that ‘ship’ further.”

She concludes her statement with,”In the aftermath of a historic writer’s strike that shed new light on the troubling ways writers are regarded in daytime, my sincere hope is that General Hospital recommits to valuing staff writer efforts and input, with a more intentional focus on diverse viewpoints — and thrives for another 60 years.”

Accompanying her post, Shannon added, “Thank you all for the love and support these last few years. I hope GH fans get all they hope for and more!”

So, what do you think about GH not renewing Shannon’s contract? Will there be more continued changes afoot? What do you think is the future of ‘Sprina’ anyway at this point as viewers wait to see if Nicholas Chavez officially returns to the show?  Comment below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Learns Britt Died and Tells Anna He Has Been Working For Cates Since November 2021

On the Tuesday, March 26th of General Hospital, Anna (Finola Hughes) and the viewers learn about where Jason (Steve Burton) has been for over two and half years. However, Jason gets some news of his own.

Anna is visiting Jason at the PCPD interrogation room. She asks him if he shot Dante (Dominic Zamprogna), which he flatly denies. Anna believes him, but she tells Jason it doesn’t matter, because video footage shows him on the roof at the time of the shooting

When talk turns to Jason not willing to speak without his lawyer present, Anna can’t grasp why Jason would instead spend an hour alone talking with John Cates (Adam J. Harrington).

It is then that Anna brings up that John went by “Jagger” and that the two of them knew each other in high school. Jason doesn’t recall much of his time in high school following his brain injury, but then he gets furious realizing John knew about “Jason’s” past. That is when Jason slams the table and tells Anna, “I’ve been working for John Cates since November 2021.”

Next, Jason explains further that he has been working as an informant for the FBI. Anna wants to know how this came about and he tells her that after the tunnel collapsed, and he couldn’t make it to Britt (Kelly Thiebaud)… all of a sudden he sees Anna’s face drop.  Anna is the first person to tell him that Britt died and was murdered. She tells Jason the killer is in custody, but he continues to be shocked, overwhelmed with tears welling up in his eyes. Realizing he has to pivot to save his life, Jason continues telling Anna how he wound up working with John.

Jason explains that after the tunnel collapse in Greece, FBI agents grabbed him and placed him under arrest and took him to Quantico where he met John. At Quantico, John played a recording of RICO violations and offered Jason a deal if he agreed to be an informant against Pikeman, the illegal arms dealer.

Anna hears from Jason that he thinks Pikeman is selling illegal arms to anyone flagged by the NSA but has ties to the WSB which they needed a civilian to infiltrate their organization as a military soldier, a mercenary.

Jason tells Anna he was a part of the team brought into eliminate Sonny (Maurice Benard). Every time an attempt was made on Sonny’s life over the last two years, a different team was sent to do the job. Anna gets furious when she learns that John told Jason his job was to kill Sonny and she was with John at the warehouse that night. Jason ensured the sniper missed Sonny and left the rifle behind. However, they were supposed to meet an extraction team. Before he was shot, Dante saw it was Jason on the roof and when he turned around with his hands over his head, Dante was shot by the other guy. Jason says if Dante dies, he’ll be charged with capital murder and then will be useless to the FBI.

Meanwhile, John visits Bobbie’s and runs into Carly (Laura Wright). She learns Jason is in custody and is going to head to the PCPD. Before she does, Carly has some words with Cates when she learns not only does John have a vendetta against Sonny, but Jason too.  Carly tells John he should recuse himself from the case.

So, what did you think about the moment when Jason learned Britt died? What do you think of Jason’s return storyline thus far and what we learned about Jagger/Jason and more? Comment below. But first, check out a moment from today’s GH with Jason and Anna.
