Margot Robbie to Make Unexpected Appearance in Australian Soap ‘Neighbours’ Finale

The producers of Australian’s long-running soap opera, Neighbours, have a few more surprises for longtime fans of the series before it signs off later this week after its 37-year-run.
Oscar Nominee, Margot Robbie, and the co-star of the new Barbie motion picture, will be making an appearance in the Neighbours finale, after all! Robbie had gotten her first major acting part in the role of Donna Freedman from 2008 to 2011 on the Aussie soap.

As her career highlights go, after Robbie’s Neighbours contract came to an end, she was offered a renewal pick-up, but turned it down. She went on to be cast in the ABC’s series, Pan Am, and from there her motion picture career began to take off.
Robbie filmed her part of the Neighbours farewell from Los Angeles. According to the Neighbours Twitter account, Margot joins other alumni including: Jesse Spencer, Delta Goodrem, Kym Valentine, Carla Bonner, as well as previously announced former cast members: Natalie Imbruglia, Kylie Minogue, Guy Pearce, Jason Donovan and Holly Valance, who will all make guest appearances as we say goodbye to Ramsay Street.
As previously reported, Neighbours was cancelled earlier this year when UK’s Channel 5 decided not to renew its contract with the show. What followed was attempts to secure another broadcaster and funding which failed, ultimately calling a halt to the iconic series.
Neighbours airs its final episode on Friday, July 29th.
So, what do you think about Margot Robbie remembering her soap start and making an appearance in the grand finale of Neighbours? Comment below.

This is fantastic news. After hearing Kylie Minogue was returning, I was hoping to see Delta Goodrem return, as well! And I think it’s awesome to see Margot Robbie return, as well. THIS is how you send off a soap opera. Lots of returns everyone wants to see!
That’s great! too bad more ex- US soap actors didn’t return for their former show’s endings.I was hoping Judith Light would make a good-bye appearance on “one Life to Live” as well as Ryan Phillippe.
Didn’t I read somewhere that Judith Light was willing, but the show could not accommodate her? I’m vaguely remembering something like that. She’s been very willing to embrace what playing the part of Karen Wolek did for her career, so it would surprise me to learn that she was approached and was not interested.
I guess Judith sort of made a good-bye appearance on the “View” with Robin Strasser and Erika Slezak. I forgot as well that Sarah Michelle Gellar and Josh Duhamel returned in AMC’s final days.
It is the sheer volume of A-List actors that are returning to neighbor’s that is so impressive. It seems that Australian actors have more appreciation than American actors for their former soaps.
