Photo: MEastonfacebook

This past week saw fans of General Hospital’s Michael Easton’s (Dr. Hamilton Finn) poems and written works breaking the sales record for his limited edition 20th anniversary edition of his book 18 Straight Whiskeys.

According to Easton via a post on his facebook page,  “The Bowery Press just informed me “18 Straight Whiskeys” broke the one day sales record for their limited edition books.  At some point the mobile site even overloaded from the traffic (you can still order on a computer or laptop). As way of apology for the inconvenience we are extending the one day sale (10% off and free shipping) for two weeks. Thank you again and I hope you enjoy the book.”

Michael posted his appreciation relating, “THANK YOU TO ALL THE AMAZING FANS…”

You can now go directly to Michael’s website www.michaeleaston.com and also purchase this 2oth anniversary edition version. On the site if you order the book it says, “Collectors Edition Limited to 1,000 copies signed by the author. Twentieth anniversary edition of the acclaimed poetry collection plus thirty new poems.  First two printings sold out.”

Easton appeared on the season premiere of the podcast series, Soap Nation Live! back in August discussing his work and the edition of the new poems to the collection and the significance these writings have had in his life.

So, excited to see that Michael’s collection is doing so well? Will you purchase your own copy? Comment below.

‘Ryan’s Hope’ Star and Soap Vet, John Gabriel Has Passed Away at 90

Heartbreaking news Monday morning and to start the week. Beloved Ryan’s Hope soap veteran, John Gabriel (Ex-Dr. Seneca Beaulac) has died.

His daughter, actress Andrea Gabriel (Lost) shared the news of his passing via her Instagram account.

In her statement, Andrea shared: “It is with an unspeakably heavy heart that I share the news of my father’s passing.  John Gabriel was my hero, my role model, and my champion, but above all, my daddy… I will love you forever.”

Gabriel’s run on Ryan’s Hope was in two parts.  He started with the ABC daytime drama series in 1975 and stayed till 1985.  He then returned from 1988 to 1989.  Seneca’s love story with Jillian Coleridge (the late Nancy Addison Altman) was often front and center on the series.
