NEXT WEEK: Sean Kanan Returns To The Bold and the Beautiful!

Courtesy/CBS
After taking his last breath on General Hospital as AJ Quartermaine several months ago, and then signing back on to reprise his role as bad boy Deacon Sharpe on The Bold and the Beautiful, look for actor Sean Kanan to begin to air in all new episodes of the CBS soap opera next week on Friday, June 13th!
B&B will also be having a live CBS Connect Chat that day with Kanan to usher in his return starting at 1:30PMET/10:30AMPST
In the latest issue of Soap Opera Digest on newsstands now, Kanan reveals it is none other than Quinn (Rena Sofer) who he first cross paths with when he returns: “I’m initially working with Rena Sofer’s character. He meets her in a bar, which is a shocker for (alcoholic) Deacon, meeting a pretty woman in a bar, but for me, I am very happy to work with Rena again because we have a long history.”
Kanan is referring to the fact that both he and Sofer worked together for a time on GH wher she played Lois Cerullo, and the fact that Sean produced a film that had Rena as one of the three female leads entitled, March.
After the jump, watch the latest promo from The Bold and the Beautiful which promises Deacon’s return will be the surprise of the summer to the characters on the canvas! So are you looking forward to Deacon mixing it up again with the Spencers, Logans, Forrestes et all? How will his re-emergence affect his daughter Hope (Kim Matula)? Do you think Quinn and Deacon will be a twisted love match? Weigh-in below!

‘The Bold and the Beautiful’s’ Heather Tom on Working with TV Son Crew Morrow: ‘I’ve Always Wanted to Play an Overprotective, Overbearing Mother’ (Exclusive)

In an ironic twist of fate, and only in the soaps, The Bold and the Beautiful’s Heather Tom’s (Katie Logan) on-screen son is played by Crew Morrow (Will Spencer), the now 21-year-old son of her former TV brother on The Young and the Restless, Joshua Morrow (Nick Newman).
For those who have followed the six-time Daytime Emmy-winning actress’ career, Tom began on Y&R back in 1990 as Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) and Victor’s (Eric Braeden) daughter Victoria Newman. She played the role until 2003. Four years later, she joined the cast of The Bold and the Beautiful and has been there ever since.
Next month, at the upcoming 53rd annual Daytime Emmy Awards, Heather might add two gold statuettes to her collection with nominations for Lead Actress in a Daytime Drama Series (which would be her record-breaking 7th for an actress), and one for being a part of B&B’s writing team.

WHICH MORROW IS IN THE ROOM?
In a new livestream conversation on You Tube’s Michael Fairman Channel, Heather recalled her reaction to seeing Crew Morrow on set when he started on B&B over two years ago, and pointed out the uncanny similarities between her TV son and her former TV brother.
“I just can’t even tell you how genetics is weird,” explained Tom. “Because it’s like they are the same person; the cadence and his voice and the way he laughs. When Crew was on the shows for the first couple of months, it would take me out of the scene. I would be like, ‘Oh, my God! It’s Joshua.’ It’s crazy. It’s so wonderful to have him. I love having him there. We’re so lucky to have Crew. I think he’s a wonderful addition to the Spencer family. I love that Bill (Don Diamont) and Katie’s son is on the canvas in a real way.”
In recent weeks, fans of The Bold and the Beautiful have seen a different side of Katie in regards to her son, Will. She simply does not approve, and does not trust Melissa Dylan (Sydney Bullock) as far as she can throw her. That puts a wrinkle in the mother/son relationship.

HEATHER TOM IS THRILLED THE CHARACTER OF WILL SPENCER IS ALL GROWN-UP
“Honestly, I’ve been waiting for this story since Will was born,” exclaimed Heather “To be like the overprotective, overbearing mother, momma bear, I love it!”
As for Katie’s attitude. which many feel may need an “attitude adjustment,” Tom has it all figured out on just how she is tackling her scenes! “I have all kinds of justifications for it,” reveals the multi-talented star.

KATIE SEES ALL SORTS OF RED FLAGS WITH DYLAN
“So. it’s not just Katie being the b-word,” proclaims Tom. “It’s that Will, her son, whom she loves and supports so much, has been constantly saying about Electra (Laneya Grace), ‘This is the love of my life. She’s broken my heart. I love her. All I want to do is get her back.'”
“So I think Katie could be like, ‘Okay, well, Electra’s a little flighty, but my son loves her, so I’m going to try to support that relationship,” explains Heather. “In addition, Will has never told his mother, ‘I love Dylan,’ at all. I think Katie is thinking of telling Will, ‘You should run, not walk, from this girl who seems somewhat obsessed!’ I don’t know where they’re going with the Electra/Will/Dylan triangle, but I think Katie’s very focused on Dylan for a multitude of reasons.”
So, do you like seeing Heather Tom as Katie going into overprotective momma bear-mode, now that the series has a major young triangle between Electra/Will/Dylan? What do you think about the fact that Heather has been a long-running scene partner with father/son across two different soaps in Joshua Morrow and Crew Morrow? Let us know in the comment section, and in case you missed it, check out our full conversation with Heather below.

‘General Hospital’s’ Finola Hughes Delivers the ‘Power Performance of the Week’

There was never any doubt that in watching the riveting and emotional scenes on General Hospital which featured Finola Hughes as a PTSD-driven and mentally tortured Anna Devane, that when the climatic moments in Anna’s story aired, that we would not be singing the praises of Hughes. Once again, Finola showcased why she is one of the soap opera genres greatest assets and actresses.
In the key scenes, Anna has had a complete breakdown as she has lured and cornered Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) on Mount Emerson, and even thought through how she would kill her and cover it up, all thanks to hearing the voice and seeing a dead man, Peter August (Wes Ramsey). It’s visions of Peter that keeps egging Anna on to pull the trigger on Britt while in her delusional state.
Before Britt realizes that Anna trapped her in meeting her in Mount Emerson, she is very confused as to why she was all the way out in the boondocks to talk about what happened to her brother, Cassius Faison. However, Britt soon learned that what Anna was about to do is personal, and not professional, as she pulls the gun on her.

Courtesy/ABC
ANNA FIRES HER GUN IN GAME-CHANGING MOMENT
When Jason (Steve Burton) shows up to save the say, he tries to talk Anna off the ledge, begging her to not shoot Britt and make one of the greatest mistakes of his life. When Jason figured out Anna felt she needed to kill anyone related to Cesar Faison, he made her think twice, because that would mean, she also would need to end the lives of two of Maxie’s children, James and Bailey Lu.
Anna can’t stop seeing hallucinations of Peter pushing her to shoot Britt. Suddenly and completely overcome, Anna fires bullets straight in the direction of where she sees Peter as she declares this all must end tonight.
After the shots are fired, Anna realized what she had done and just sobbed and shook. It was a devastating and heartbreaking moment for longtime General Hospital fans to see the beloved Anna Devane, super spy, so lost. Anna explained to Jason, after he was able to disarm her, how she was being pushed to kill Britt by her visions of Peter.
EMMY-WORTHY SCENES FOR 2027
In another hankie-inducing moment, Anna just grabs Jason and breaks down in his arms. If these weren’t Emmy-worthy scenes, we don’t know what is, and it must be remembered by Hughes, General Hospital, and hopefully the voting body of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) when Emmy submissions and voting get underway in 2027 for the 54th annual Daytime Emmys.
From everything we noted above, to the sheer brilliance of her work, Michael Fairman TV names Finola Hughes, this week’s Power Performance of the Week.
Now let us know, do you agree with our pick of Finola? Were you moved to tears during the gut-wrenching scenes? Should Finola include these scenes in an Emmy submission in 2027, should she decide to compete for Lead Actress gold? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

RATINGS: ‘General Hospital’ Shows Most Gains in Total Viewers Week-Over-Week and Up in Key Demo

The ratings are out for the week of August 24-28 for your favorite broadcast television soaps, and it was ABC’s General Hospital which added the most total viewers and planted itself firmly in third place in its battle with Beyond the Gates in the key demos of women 18-49 and 25-54.
According to Soap Opera Network, all daytime dramas were up year-over-year, and General Hospital was joined by The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful with gains in their total audience viewership, while Beyond the Gates was only slightly off pace for the ratings week.
Let’s take a look at what had viewers tuning-in, starting with General Hospital, who added +79,000 viewers. While still under the 2 million viewers mark (which they can hopefully return in the coming weeks) their overall tally was an average of 1, 935,000 tuning-in, while still up year-to-year +136,000.
GENERAL HOSPITAL
In addition, GH while actually down from the previous week in the 18-49 ratings share, they still out performed Beyond the Gates for third place. However, GH was firmly in third place for the 25-54 ratings share.
The stories that were featured for the week included: Anna’s (Finola Hughes) PTSD and struggle with painful memories tied to Cesar Faison, and her concocting a plan to get rid of Britt (Kelly Thiebaud), Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) recording Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) threatening her, and later running into a severe threat from Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) regarding Kai (Jens Austin Astrup) and Drew’s (Cameron Mathison) shooting, and Drew enlisting Ava (Maura West) to gain leverage over Jack, which resulted in Ava drugging him, while Drew went snooping for the evidence Brennan had against him.

THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS
Y&R remained in the top spot amongst all the soaps once again with 3,062,000 tuning in, and up +35,000 for the week, while year-to-year still showing strong gains at +231,000 viewers. However, while Y&R remained #1 for the 25-54 ratings share, it fell to #2 in the 18-49 ratings share behind The Bold and the Beautiful.
In story for the week, Nick’s (Joshua Morrow) sobriety in rehab was a focus, as was Victoria (Amelia Heinle) and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) hitting the Jabot office couch and having sex for the first time, and Lily (Christel Khalil) and Billy (Jason Thompson) battling over control and ownership of Chancellor Industries.

THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL
B&B is continuing to be inch closer to Y&R for the top spot, separated by a little more than 300,000 viewers. For the ratings week, the series posted a total audience of 2,719,000 adding +31,000 eyeballs overall, and like Y&R, is up year-to-year in its performance.
The CBS soap now , now in its 40th season is +217,000 from the same time last year. In the key demos, The Bold and the Beautiful was in the top spot for the women 18-49 ratings share and number two for women 25-54.
In story, the major threat to Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and Finn (Tanner Novlan) and Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor) and Daphne’s (Murielle Hilaire) marriages continued as Steffy and Carter swore they would not tell their spouses that the two had a drunken hook-up. But as viewers know now, Steffy is pregnant!

BEYOND THE GATES
Beyond the Gates tallied an average of 1,611,000 total viewers for the week, up +72.000 year-over-year and down slightly in tune-in for the week losing just -36,000 viewers. The CBS soap came in fourth place in the key demos for the week behind General Hospital, with whom they are often trading places for the third spot.
In story, after Bill Hamilton (Timon Kyle Durrett) was released from the hospital, Hayley (Marquita Goings) stuck to her plan, doubling down on poisoning him and even getting caught in a major lie or meeting with Randy (Maurice P. Kerry), as Vernon (Clifton Davis) may be on to her machinations.
The ratings report is generated from Nielsen (Live+Same Day Big Data + Panel) for the week of August 24-28, 2026
So, what did you think of the performance of General Hospital for the ratings period? Which daytime drama has you most likely to tune-in each day? Which has you tuning-out? Let us know what’s working, or not working for you in story, via the comment section below.

Quinn will get Deacon in a pickle and ill relish it…lol(only gh fans will get it…lol)
I like it Jim!!
Funny! I just welcome new faces RS & SK together should be fun so tired of the Brooke & Hope show the two most uninteresting characters on the show. I see TK being paired with Heather Tom was short lived and we all know who is responsible for that.
Brooke is the one who shouldve fell out of the plane and went missing but then again Ridge often looks like he could use a bath…imo!…lol
The wrong character fell and went missing from the plane…imo…lol!!!
GH’s loss, B&B gain.
I may have to tune into B&B just to see Sean Kanan, whom I desperately miss on GH (they should have vindicated AJ and let him be a contender).
He’s an amazing talent with a natural charisma.
I agree..GH drop the ball big time with this wonderfully talented actor..Good luck to him.
I was hoping for AJ to resurrect the Quartermaine legacy. You know, bad boy come home, redemption. Really disappointed when writers killed him off. And all they have left us with is very dark, gangland, and more hospital visits. Not a good balance.
There was great chemistry between Sean and Maura West…all i can say is here was GHs chance to give us our next Alan and Monica and they blew it big time…imo!!!
Remember, the plan was to vindicate a falsely accused AJ and use it to reset AJ and give him a stronger relationship with Michael and a firmer place among the Quartermaines. When Sean Kanan asked to leave the show, they decided to take it a completely different direction rather than recast, simply killing AJ off. I’m pretty sure we’re now seeing AJ’s entire redemption re-packaged as Ric’s story–falsely accused, losing Liz in the process, wanting to rebuild a relationship with the family he’s disappointed and the child he barely knows. I’m pretty sure were about to see the rough outlines of what they had planned for AJ play out as Ric’s story now instead. Sean Kanan quit, I respect that he had his own reasons, but remember, they were not planning on killing AJ off until Kanan asked to be let out of his contract. Clearly they saw the potential to use that money for someone like Ric Hearst and took it. My only regret is that they killed off another Quartermaine. I do wish they’d found a way to have him just leave town.
Yes, but he quit because he was frustrated with the direction they were taking AJ. He also though the writing for the character was sub par (ie, the idiotic Pickle Lila storyline).
Had he stayed on, AJ would not have ever been vindicated in his son’s eyes and would not ever be allowed to win one over Sonny. Sean knew that which is why he left.
He didn’t ask to leave…he asked that they not make his character a loser again. He came back with the assumption…perhaps intel…that AJ would be give a new lease. Instead, they had him once again drinking, accused of a crime he didn’t commit, a punching bag for his naysayers, he lost the girl (Liz)…it was Sean who said he didn’t like the way his character was being written…and it was Ron who said if you don’t like it there’s the door. He took the door.
As a fan of Sean Kanan and AJ…I regret the loss of both from GH.
Hope the Deacon storyline is worth the wait. The character is not one of my favourites, though, I hope it welcomes to return of Bridget!
He will be treated much better at B&B than he was at GH!
Please don’t pair with him Brooke! Please don’t pair him with Brooke! Please don’t pair him with Brooke!
If there are Soap Gods out there, please, I beg you; LET ONE MAN ON B&B NOT BE PAIRED WITH BROOKE!!!!! Please let Rena Sofer have a chance to shine with another great actor! Enough with the KKL worship on that damn show.
mk…YES…MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY!!!!! At this point, Brooke works my nerves too damn much!!!!! BLECH!!!!!
Rena Sofer is still so utterly gorgeous and she’s a pretty decent actress. I don’t watch B&B but have seen snippets of it. I don’t understand the constant focus on that thin lipped blonde, who, despite being on this soap for a very long time, is still a vacuous and shallow actress. How can someone be in the acting profession for soooooo long manage not to improve even a little bit? She’s just a terrible actress.
The same can be said of the actress who play Lily on Y&R. Anyway, back to your point, MK, yes, I hope Sean will be paired up with another GH alumni, Rena Sofer.
@ Harry he will not be paired up with KKL probably will not have a scene with her. She is on to the nu/Ridge!
Thank you. BB has also become the Hope Logan show. So sick of Hope & Liam everyday. Bring Steffy and Bridget back and put Hope on the backburner where she belongs.
Fans have been wanting more Hope on DAYS and less Hope on B&B. DAYS is now featuring more Hope, but B&B continues to be all about Hope, which is hopeless.
Brad Bell has named Hope his central character. You will not get your wish.
Kristian Alfonso is a very focused actress with a realistic portrayal of her tortured character.
The dingbat at B&B shows unprofessional confusion in her scenes. Does she always look at the camera? I laughed at all the times she looked into the camera in her emmy nominated scenes! What a joke!!!
I agree , WHERE IS STEFFY???
She is on the opening credits. Also if they are going to film in Paris, then why aren’t STEFFY (and Thomas) going to be there filming
The show is so boring with Hope and her storyline! Anyone else agree? Or have an answer to , where is STEFFY
Debster…I, also, am so sick of Liam and Hope. To me, Hope is EVEN MORE ANNOYING than Liam…if that’s even possible…LOL!!!!! And…instead of putting Hope on the backburner, I wish that the show’s writers would write out that BORING AS HELL Hope altogether. To me, that would be W-A-Y BETTER!!!!!
Problem solved.
Amen, if I c Brooke with that stupid tear going down her cheek one more time I am gonna hurl….I love the Quinn character..at least she has some depth..I only started watching B&B when my soaps were canceled but the endless triangles are soooo boring..Hope went back w/Liam…gag me..I don’t think I can watch that again..
Ditto!
Sean Kanan’s heart/home was with B&B..
He called Bell and asked to go back to B&B..
So.. he is very happy to once again be Deacon..
I’m happy he is back where he wants to be and wish him the best ..
He was always Deacon not AJ ..
at least he got to walk of GH in a bag not a whimper!
actors all love to go out the way Deacon/AJ did ..
S.K. might have stayed at GH…he was disastified with his poorly written storyline…he was a great A.J.!!!
How do you know that? Do you work for both ABC and CBS !??
SKanan came to GH, with the hope of more story driven stories and possibly having been transformed and GH, plain and simple, squander it! His return was good and the end was horrible at best!
Clearly you see nothing wrong with your GH.
WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? I am sorry for yelling but you consistently playing the part of the GH apologist is irksome as hell.
AJ was not originally written to be killed he was written to be found innocent, RC said so in an interview.. And he had some very good stories ahead..
It was SK who wanted to leave GH, he called Bell to go back to B&B and his leaving gave RC and FV and staff a need for a quick write out for him… Not by their choice.
By killing AJ it left GH with a great ongoing story..
I am a fan of GH, I like GH, I have fun watching GH, I do not complain about GH because I am happy and content .. 🙂
What’s the chances that su0000 and the English teacher are one in the same? LOL!
You sure you really aren’t Ron C.,…lol
SK said in an interview that he was contacted by BB first and decided to go back. The way GH treated SK sucked. I’m glad he is going to BB. GH’s loss.
You’ve ruffled their feathers! They would like to tar and feather you! You may want to ease up on the smiley faces because they’re not smiling!!! LOL!!!
Those smiley faces do hit a nerve with me. It reminds me of when my English teacher gave me an F on my composition and wrote,”Possibly the worst writing I have ever had the misfortune of coming across.” Then she writes a smiley face.
Yeah, that made me feel A LOT better!
@Harry. Hahahahaha…I’m sorry. Did your teacher REALLY write that!!!???
You should have sent her a little thank you note:
Thank you for the most DEstructive criticism I’ve ever had the misfortune of receiving. And then added a smiley face, of course….
Rather reminds me of The Mentalist’s “Red John,” and we all know what a complete nutter he was!!!!!!
Hey, I totally agree with you. I wish GH could have done something with A.J., because the show needs all the Quartermaines they can get. But, it was a mutually decision and I hope he finds success with B&B. But, I have my doubts because they continue to focus on Brooke, Hope, Wyatt, Liam and Guido (oh sorry, Bill).
Fact is, we’ll never really know what transpired behind the scenes at GH in regards to Kanan’s departure, but we are sadly aware that his absence has left a huge hole in the Port Charles landscape! Even now I’m still missing AJ and keep thinking how his presence would have so naturally fit into the existing and emerging storylines. Additionally, I will never forgive or forget how callously and permanently the character was dispensed from the canvas….that much we were painfully and publicly privy to, and it remains a very immature, vindictive and contemptible chapter in the history of the show.
Agree Shay. AJ could have been convalescing somewhere…Carly and Franco could have still found his phone with the evidence against Ava and the storyline could have played out as it is…the difference being at the end of it AJ would have been vindicated and able to start anew when he was up ‘n’ running again.
What a waste…
@rebecca1…..Exactly! What a waste, indeed!!!! I’m beginning to think that the tacky send-off for AJ….in addition to simply being purely punitive and incredibly insulting to Sean (and all of his devoted fans)…..was designed solely so the twisted “crypt sex” scenario could play out….there was a real rage and deep depravity behind that scene, and it extended far beyond what the characters of Sonny and Ava were supposed to be experiencing. Heavy psychological stuff there….
YAY!
I hope Sean gets treated very well. But B and B is legendary and notorious for wasting top notch talent. It baffles my mind that Sean consistently gets the short end of the stick by soap execs who cast him as a character that are maligned and considered losers. He is a great actor, a commanding presence, and I would love to see him be a powerful leading man who takes names and rules the roost as he should have as the triumphantly returned AJ. Carlivati’s decision to kill AJ was a hate filled short sighted last minute decision because Sean dared to disagree with the direction his character was taking. I wish Sean all the best as Deacon although that characters track record is fairly abysmal. Days of Our Lives, as the only remaining soap that has not squandered his talent, should snap him up and let him shine!!
See, Johnny? Sean really is AJ.
Thats my biggest fear. I just have a bad premonition that Brad Bell will screw this up, like he has everytime he got a fan favorite to return or grabbed a big name. They all come on with HUGE FANFARE, only to be written out 6 months later. I mean in the past 5 years he has had some of the best in daytime, only to squander their talents. I mean he had Rick Hearst & Sarah Brown in the same family and did nothing with them. He brought Amber back, and she was gone within 6 months. He had the Epic Eileen Davidson & basically wasted her. There was so much crossover material by having Ashley at Forrester, but nope he went back to the reliable Ridge/Brooke merry go round that is so PLAYED OUT. Leslie Kay delivered during the cancer storyline, and he basically said he couldnt write for the character anymore. Wtf? I mean Felicia should be taking her mother’s throne as HBIC. But nope I have to suffer through HopeLESS and all her silly weddings.
This show makes weddings so uneventful because they happen every few months. I keep saying to finally take this crap off my Dvr, but I keep holding out hope I will get back the BB I loved for so many years during college. I just shake my head everytime I watch this show. People meet, and within 3 months they are in love and engaged. I never invest in any SL because 2 months later it changes direction.
People complain about the Music Box SL on YR taking to long, but I would prefer that over this Blink and You missed style of Storytelling. I maybe the last of Daytime viewers that LOVED LOVED LOVED, Bill Bell’s pacing, never missing a beat, Long form style of Storytelling. It made me invested. Sigh, this show is like a bad drug I know I need 2 quit, but I keep hoping for a different result.
Thank you. Yes, Felicia, we need a real Forester woman….Stephanie “part deux”, instead we get Hope & Liam all day; useless Donna; men fighting over Brooke. Enough already.
You might like DAYS, especially when Eileen Davidson returns in July!
Kassie DePaiva’s premiere as Eve is June 18th!
su0000…kanan said:
“I was utterly thrilled to be brought back to GH………. and really enjoyed working with [executive producer] Frank Valentini, but I was not over the moon about the writing.
“Doing stories about panic attacks and relish was not what I thought I’d signed up for. I feel I brought everything I could to the character yet it was obvious they weren’t going to give me a great love story, which I found very disappointing.”
Romantic relationships, he said, are “the bread and butter of daytime, and you can only survive on a show for so long without one. I could see the writing on the wall. I spoke with Frank and we mutually agreed that if I wasn’t happy, and they could find a good way to write me out, that it was best to wrap it up.”
To me that implies he didn’t like his storyline or where it was heading. If it was heading in a better direction as you suggest, they would have told him so. To my way of thinking it appears hew wanted to stay…aired his feelings about his character and the writing of him…and would have stayed if there was some promise of a victory for AJ in a lot of respects down the road. Doesn’t appear there was and basically they said, “sorry…if you’re not happy, leave.” And he did.
As for Ron…it appears they “got into it” when Sean made his feelings public and Ron made snarky tweets about him.
I agree Johnny…plus i would love to have seen Sean K. on Days as Scott Banning or some other Horton!!!
That’s kind of unfair. The decision to kill AJ wasn’t made after Kanan expressed concerns about the direction his character was going, the decision to kill AJ was after Kanan quit the show and they were deciding how to write him off. Lots of reasons not to like RC or any headwriter, but headwriters don’t get to override the network or the executive producer just because they don’t like certain actors. Kanan quit and RC pitched a way to write AJ off, the EP and network signed off on it. Before Kanan quit, AJ was going to be vindicated–RC even previewed the long arc of the story in ABC SOAPS IN DEPTH and the improved relationship Michael and AJ would have as a result, the week before Kanan asked to be let out of his contract and quit the show. I personally would have liked a recast or sending AJ out of town instead of killing another Quartermaine, BUT given that they apparently used the money to bring Rick Hearst back–an actor and character (Ric) who fills a similar role on the canvas, I’m not complaining as loud as I might be.
Jeffrey…I replied to your post above…and I’m replying similarly here. Unless you have some info the rest of us don’t have…the only reason Sean Kanan quit was because of the way his character AJ was written and the way it was going moving forward. When he complained about it and suggested that AJ finally catch a break…he and Ron got into it. THAT’s when he left; he had no intention on leaving until he saw the writing (pun intended) on the wall…
Sean Kanan wanted a romantic roll, probably like he had at B&B..
SK quit before he was found innocent, RC had him written as innocent, upcoming, but most likely not a love story for him at that time..
Although RC had a long term story written for SK..
So, Sean Kanan called Bell and wanted back in at B&B..
SK left RC, FV and staff empty handed with having to re-write him out..
I never once read any interview or article that said;
”he and ron got into it” …
ALL soap actors will you– they do not know what what will happen to their characters, as they are not informed ahead of time..
To say SK knew what his upcoming story would be is not probable that he would even know..
su0000: would you either please stop with your nonsensical theories about what did or did not happen at GH, or just be honest that are some hack working at GH? Sean Kanan specifically said what led up to his leaving GH and he did not say he quit. It was not Ron he went to, but Frank. SK has explicitly stated that he expressed concern about where they were taking AJ, because the direction was OPPOSITE to what they told him to get him to come back in the first place. Frank made it clear that they decided NOT to go that way with AJ after all — probably BECASUE SK challenged the direction the character was going — and SK and Frank mutually agreed that if AJ was going to remain as currently being written (as a pathetic drunk with no planned redemption) it would be better if SK left. Story in SK’s interview with TV Guide. Instead of making up nonsense, GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT, as they are in the public record.
SK did NOT contact BB, as both SK and BB have stated. Again, get your facts straight.
So right you are, Johnny! Sean is a classic, leading man type that used to rule the soaps in their heyday….he has that naturally masculine, All-American appeal and now his kind seems to be on the endangered species list, as the only desirable starring roles (particularly on GH…) appear to be that of pc-approved characters that can advance agendas as opposed to great stories. All we see anymore are gangsters, dope dealers and various forms of neutered, cowtowed males…..gentlemen are all but gone, unless you count the clearly courtly but unmodern Duke and maybe, just maybe, Nathan….he is becoming the strong, silent John Wayne of the Port Charles police force….I am actually coming to like him, but perhaps that has more to do with his recently revealed family ties than the man himself.
I love Sean Kanan and I’m very happy he’ll be on the show again. Quinn keeps singing the same song, every day, “I sent the selfie accidentally!” and it’s boring. Time for her to move on to another man in another story. At the same time, we’ll have Deacon on the show while Ridge is off somewhere, so while B&B loses a leading man for some unknown period of time, B&B is welcoming one back. Can’t wait to see SK again as Deacon.
I am happy to see Deacon come back. He always makes things interesting whether he is playing a good guy or bad guy and we know hes good at both! I can see him and Quinn conspiring together to keep Bill and Brooke apart as he still Loves Brooke and Keep Hope with Wyatt, now that she has hurt any chance Wyatt had left with Hope. She made her choice, but Quinn isnt going to accept that. And bring Steffy back too and let her compete with Quinn for Bill! Her and Bill were a hot item at one time.
I have never been a fan of B&B but I just may tune in. SK seems to be someone who can bring it. TIIC of GH blew it big time. I always liked AJ so who knows I may just like Deacon. I also liked the other two actors on GH ,so Lois and Dillon who are now on B&B three is a good number. Don’t know the other actors names .
Its time B&B recast Hope . JUST SAYING
She has a bad habit of looking at the camera.
Just praying he is involved in an exciting and compelling storyline. B&B’s failing of late have been focus on too many repetitive, near-incest storylines. And no one does anything but talk. Give me romances, redemptions, adventures. Do not give me Brooke Logan and Hope Logan as heroines stuck on repeat. This is why the show seems so tired to me.
I’m only sorry that the writers at General Hospital did not take advantage of Sean’s talent, and that his character was from a core, legacy family. Good luck Sean, at the Bold & the Beautiful.
