It turn out it’s not Rosie Perez, that is leaving ABC’s talker The View, but the other Rosie … Rosie O’Donnell!

In news Friday evening, O’Donnell’s publicist released a statement saying her client is calling it quits  from the daytime talk show, and also revealed that indeed Rosie has split from her wife Michelle Rounds.

The statement read: “I can confirm that Rosie and her wife Michelle split in November. Rosie has teens and an infant at home that need her attention. This has been a very stressful situation. She is putting her personal health and family first. ABC has been wonderfully understanding and supportive of her personal decision to leave The View.”

Meanwhile the alphabet network released this statement:  “Rosie is an immensely talented star who comes in each and every morning brimming with ideas, excitement and passion for the show. When she told us that she wanted to exit The View, we respected and understood her desire to put her well-being and her family first. We’re delighted she’s still part of the ABC family with upcoming guest appearances on The Fosters. And we know she’ll return to The View often with her unique point of view and updates on her work and her family.”

O’Donnell will wrap up her current run next week as co-host.  As to who will replace her, Naya Rivera seems to be a frontrunner, but who knows when it comes to the casting of the gals on this morning show.

What do you think of the news of Rosie O’Donnell’s exit? Comment below!

The View would be smart to just bring Joy Behar back, long with Mario Cantone.

and/or bring on Laverne Cox!!!

Laverne 100 %

Joy Behar is a venom spewing, grotesqueharridan who couches her looney tunes far left-wing views in a cloak of so-called comedy so that she can get away with the most vicious and slanderous statements.Whatever viewership this tedious program has is because of the guests ABC provides not for the dangerously mindless chatter of its moronic hosts.

I will grant that I am perhaps a tad naive. I always try to see the good in people. I used to VDR THE VIEW on a regular basis because I liked the idea of women exchanging thoughts. I did not always agree with the panel’s opinions. But, I have a more than open mind….always giving the benefit of the doubt. It seems I have a lot of growing up to do . I will admit that the show’s sails have lost most of its wind, but I am all for having a second, third and fourth look-see. Comedians people hide under the cloak of comedy? Perhaps, but in my naïveté, I never looked at it that way. I wish I knew what these lies were? First time I have heard this….

Robert Seganti…you nailed it!!!!!!!

Your your mouth to God’s ears, Jeremy. I would just love to have Joy back. Personally, I have always maintained that she made the show….I Mario. Later.

Ps and lol…I meant to say…I love Mario, Jeremy.
@Robert. Joy Behar Shares her VIEW, as you are doing right now. We all have our opinions….she makes me laugh, but i always thought her jokes were within the realm of decency. ‘Different strokes for different folks’. However, with all due respect, if anyone is spewing hate and venom on another human being, it is you, sir. Live and let live.

I’m all for “live and let live” but Joy Behar and Rosie O’Donnell spread lies and engage in uninformed (stupid actually)character assassination.Sharing her views is fine but not lying and slandering and then hiding ,as does Bill Maher, behind the fact that “it’s only comedy”.

As Sherri Shepherd pointed out The View lost 30% of its audience when they fired Elizabeth Hasselback. The daytime audience is not interested in the far-out ,paranoid,left-wing views of Behar,O’Donnell or Whoopi Goldberg.

Robert…you MUST be kidding! You’re offended by Joy Behar, Bill Maher, Rosie…but you like Sherri Shephard and Elizabeth What’s-her-face? Elizabeth thought she was on the Billy Graham show .The View was not a platform for her self-righteous religious beliefs and asinine comments. One in particular that I loved…and I say this in full sarcasm…she asked an Italian Catholic actor if it bothered him that people think he’s Jewish. Donu have any idea how anti Semitic that comment is ??? She also said she wouldn’t send any Jewish people Hannukkah cards because it’s not her hoiiday. I’ve sent plenty of Christmas cards to friends because it’sTHEIR holiday! She’s an attention-seeking, opinionated, full of herself loud mouth. Sherri? Ditto for her constant talk of religion and race. The whole show is way too focused on racial issues…but if it’s to survive Mario would be a great addition.

Robert Seganti…you are correct on ALL counts!!

What meant about hiding under a cloak of comedy is that Joy Behar,Whoopi Goldberg,Bill Maher,Jon Stewart are able to say vicious, dreadful, malicious and, most importantly,FALSE things about major and minor public figures and get away with by having others say “they’re only comedians-it’s a joke”.If someone who is not identified as a comedian says the exact same thing it might be actionable in a slander suit in court. And when comedians enter into political discussions in a public forum they should state their views freely and debate fairly but not hide behind the facade of their comedy careers to evade responsibility for their words -state their honest opinions but don’t
expect the latitude (because they are comedians )to lie and slander and pretend it was “comedy”.

please hire Jennifer Tilly… if she wants the job!

Only if she dresses like the Bride Of Chuckie and brings Chuckie with her…lol

Really, Patrick? I can’t think of anyone more annoying. Okay, maybe I can think of a few but she’s right up there. And then they should negotiate a deal with The Voice to buy the name and change it from The View. Between Tilly and Nicole…shudder!

Don’t forget Fran Drescher.

I thought Jenifer Tilly was a cartoon character.

I never said I liked Sherri Shephard or Elizabeth Hasselback.I simply recounted that Shephard that said that the View lost 30% of its audience when Hasselback left.As a matter of fact I find Sherri to be obnoxious and Elizabeth is a bit of an air-head more suited to her current early morning job.
But the far left views of Goldbergand especially,O’Donnell and Behar are offensive to a large percentage of the American viewing public and when no conservative counter balance is present a hefty percentage will and do find the show unpalatable.Nichole Wallace is billed as a conservative but she,of course,is not.Her primary role seems to be to dish dirt on Sarah Palin.

Robert…my point of “view” is that the show is way too political overall. And by that I don’t mean political as in govt politics but both politically correct and incorrect ad nauseum. The show should either be an authentic discussion with people who have more than their own opinions that they try to pass off as fact. Either they are too liberal and certain groups get a free pass for anything and everything…or they’re spewing their religious views as if it’s the only valid faith, etc. the show ceased to be entertainment years ago…just a bunch of people given a platform to yap about things from their own perspective and an audience that’s prompted to applaud for each slanted “view” they have. Hoping it’s tossed off the air and replaced with a less offensive offer.

ABC should turn the View into a morning soap opera.

I totally agree..we can only WISH ABC/Disney would agree!

AGREE! The View has turned into a soap opera, but one that has run it’s course.

Good riddance to this disturbed, boorish woman.she is a none too bright, twisted, hateful woman who always seems inches from a nervous breakdown. The idiocy of bringing this crazy woman back to the show after her
insane behavior in her previous stint is just another example of the out of touch stupidity of most tv executives today.
The View ,always an off-kilter enterprise, should be put out of its misery .

Perfectly stated. Glad she is leaving and wish they would just cancel the show!

I’m with everything you say about that stupid show, Robert.

As for Ms. O’Donnell, I lost ALL, and I mean, ALL respect for her when she had Tom Selleck on her talk show and degraded him because he is a member of the NRA. She just wanted to get on her soapbox and talk about her issues not promote the work he there for.

Tom Selleck. A class act always. Rosie, disgusting. I still laugh when I think about how awful her primetime variety show was in the ratings and when she lost out to Drew Carey to host PRICE IS RIGHT. It proves her time has passed.

THE VIEW drew its last breath when Meredith Vieira left, but even before then I could only watch a few episodes back when it originated because I cannot stand how they talk over each other. They do not act like ladies and it is nothing more than a vipers’ nest.

Hi Chrystie,
It is one thing to call a show stupid, or a character on a show, but, completely another to call a real person stupid, as Robert S. has.
Your perspective is not as personal as Robert’s. I “hear” the hate in his writing….it reverberates. You, on the other hand, put your point across gently; you say what you must, how you feel, without that horrid undercurrent. Robert S. attacks, period, which makes me very uncomfortable. Perhaps I am the only one who feels this way, but I doubt it. I try to stay away from angry dispositions as much as I can….mocking someone sarcastically is one thing but intentionally crucifying is something else. JMO.
I do agree with you that I do not like when the women talk over each other…that is just rude on their part. That has gotten better since Barbara left. Yet, the show is falling. I am so disappointed because I FEEL I have to watch out of loyalty…..silly, isn’t it? Peace. Later.

Good grief, Robert. Why so high and mighty? And, why so angry?
So, in your estimation, everyone is stupid? Are you, perchance, a member of MENSA? To be intelligent is to be clever….read between the lines, Robert.
You are preaching, sir. Is your pulpit your cross to bear?

I referred to the stupidity of tv executives who continually reward failure and make dreadful decisions ou of stupidity.e.g. canceling One Life to Live and All My Children to make way for the Chew and the Revolution (this type of show should be on an off-beat cable channel not on a broadcast network).Th stupidity of saying that one Live to Live was too expensive to produce and then canceling it to produce a show with Katie Couric -proven ratings poison at NBC and CBS-and then pay Couric and her producer Jeff Zucker (who previously had driven NBC’s ratings down the drain) obscene, astronomical salaries equaling nearly the total budget and entire salaries of the hundreds of people who were put out of work at One Life only to watch that show fail miserably in short order.I did not say “everyone is stupid”
As to Rosie O’Donnell it is apparent that she is a disturbed, unbalanced woman who does not belong in a high pressure situation with debate and heated differences of opinion. She,herself, acknowledges her emotional difficulties.I don’t know how you read anger and worse still “hate”in what I said.I was simply offering my opinions and my observations-I’m not angry-I don’t hate

I stand corrected, Robert S. I do not follow all the behind-the-scenes’ goings-on. I have no interest. Therefore, I do apologize….you do have issues with personalities and management. I honestly thought you were just venting unreasonable anger on this site. I get it, now. Sorry, again for “shooting” off my mouth. Peace.

Thank you and good luck to you
I’m sorry if I came on too strong

DOES ANYONE REALLY WATCH THIS SHOW OR CARE???????????

Well, clearly Robert Seganti watches and cares a great deal.

I neither watch nor care.

Although I have respect for the endeavours for which Rosie is known including phenomenal philanthropy and having raised and donated over 500 million dollars for excellent causes, have always found her presence on The View most irritating. It seemed The View is still controversial without Rosie, but the undercurrent of tension is missing among the other woman who chair the show.
Given she is now 52, the number of children she has with multiple relationships and marriages, (2 marriages & one longer relationship) I think is 7, including now a young infant. It seems the ‘other’ women who some had the pregnancies are ?not in the picture now; leaving Rosie to be the main parent. This seems odd given this woman is so busy with many projects at the same time, that there isn’t more child sharing with previous partners for her to remain on The View. Even though she’s not my favourite, it seems unfair she has to leave in order to care for this young infant and the other children at her age alone. Given her obvious wealth, it seems reasonable to assume these other women did not reach her expectations as partner parents leaving her alone as a single mom yet again. I’ve no doubt she is an excellent mom and therefore I wish her well. No doubt from her home base she will still find ways to have her voice heard effectively.

I agree with most of what you say …

However a 50-year-old who already has kids has no business adopting an infant. It’s just selfish. As it is selfish for all the 50 and 60+ actors and rock stars who get together with their umpteenth partner and have a baby. Given the facts that her new partner has a life-threatening disease and that Rosie herself has suffered from a heart attack, not to mention she is obese, she should be ashamed.

Thank you for your thoughtful reply to my comments. I do agree with you about the older folks having either their own babies or else adopting. It seems unfair that a child growing up has a parent in their 60’s and 70’s when still in school. Even my grandparents were a bit older than that when I was in school.
However, I do believe the last infant Rosie shared with her now gone partner, was one her partner gave birth to herself. When I read some background of Rosie’s, I recall that fact being stated.
Seems more suitable that the infant would go with the biological mother, don’t you? And obviously she is much younger too.
Still fame, money are contributing factors in these celebrities lives and I guess they have these children thinking they can provide well for them. It seems Rosie is trying to do this to the best of her ability, hence her leaving The View. Although there may well be some other reasons for the departure which include difficulties with the other hosts. Again, we will never know.

Where on earth did you get this figure of $500 million dollars?

To break it down for you:
Here are some facts:
She used the book’s $3 million advance to establish her For All Kids foundation and promoted other charity projects, encouraging celebrities on her show to also take part.
and some more facts about her philanthropy which up to this date with her Kids Foundation the total is correct:Charitable work[edit]
Over her career, O’Donnell has developed a reputation for raising funds and her own philanthropy to charitable causes. In May 1996, Warner Books advanced O’Donnell $3 million to write a memoir.[85] She used the money to seed her For All Kids Foundation to help institute national standards for day care across the country.[85]

Since 1997, Rosie’s For All Kids Foundation, overseen by Elizabeth Birch, has awarded more than $22 million in Early Childhood Care and Education program grants to over 900 nonprofit organizations.[97] On October 30, 2006, she was honored by the New York Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children.[98] “It’s our privilege to be honoring and hosting Rosie,” said NYSPCC president David Stack in a statement.[98] “Her Rosie’s for All Kids Foundation has awarded more than $22 million in grants to over 1,400 child-related organizations, and that’s just one of her many impressive activities on behalf of children.”[98] In November 2006, Nightline aired a video report about the opening of The Children’s Plaza and Family Center in Renaissance Village, a FEMA trailer park in Louisiana.[99] This was an emergency response initiative of Rosie’s For All Kids Foundation with the help of many local nonprofit organizations and for-profit businesses, all efforts were to assist the families displaced by Hurricane Katrina.

San Francisco public relations firm Fineman Associates awarded top prize to Procter & Gamble’s designation of O’Donnell as “unkissable” in a promotion for Scope mouthwash on the 1997 annual list of the nation’s worst public relations blunders.[100] In response to the promotion, O’Donnell partnered with Warner–Lambert’s competitor Listerine who donated bottles of mouthwash to the studio audience and donated $1,000 to charity every time a hosted guest would kiss her in exchange for O’Donnell promoting their product.[3] On occasion, the guests would offer multiple kisses and People reported O’Donnell “smooched her way to more than $350,000.”[3]

In 2003, O’Donnell and Kelli O’Donnell collaborated with Artistic Director Lori Klinger to create Rosie’s Broadway Kids, dedicated to providing free instruction in music and dance to New York City public schools or students. Rosie’s Broadway Kids serves more than 4,500 teachers, students, and their family members at 21 schools.[101] Currently programs are in Harlem, Midtown West, Chelsea, Lower East Side, East Village, and Chinatown. All net profits from O’Donnell’s 2007 book Celebrity Detox are also being donated to Rosie’s Broadway Kids.[44]

In December 2006, at a one-night charity event on the Norwegian Pearl cruise ship, Elizabeth Birch, executive director for the Rosie’s For All Kids Foundation, confirmed that $50 million from O’Donnell’s five-year contract were donated in an irrevocable trust to charity.[102] She is also reported to have contributed several hundred thousand dollars for rehabilitation therapies for war veterans who have lost limbs in Iraq and Afghanistan wars. On The Tyra Banks Show,[103] Banks brought up to O’Donnell that people don’t realize that O’Donnell has given more than $100 million to charity.[104] In May 2007, O’Donnell and Pogo.com announced a joint-effort to raise money for Rosie’s All Kids Foundation.[105] EA, which owns Pogo.com, committed $30,000 and more money can be raised based on the amount of playing time people spend on certain games.[105] They also held a sweepstakes in which winners get to fly to New York and meet O’Donnell and attend a charity function as her guest.[105]

During the summer of 2007, O’Donnell was a guest on the multi-artist True Colors Tour, which traveled through 15 cities in the United States and Canada.[106] The tour, sponsored by the gay cable channel Logo, began on June 8, 2007. Hosted by comedian Margaret Cho and headlined by Cyndi Lauper, the tour also included Debbie Harry, Erasure, The Gossip, Rufus Wainwright, The Dresden Dolls, The MisShapes, Indigo Girls, The Cliks and other special guests. Profits from the tour helped to benefit the Human Rights Campaign as well as P-FLAG and The Matthew Shepard Foundation.[107] She appeared again on True Colors Tour 2008.

If anyone can say they don’t like her, then that’s fine with me but there is no arguing about her generosity in many areas of life to help those less fortunate and increase awareness about important issues.

Wendy-
Very interesting and laudable but it still doesn’t add up to anything close to $500,000,000.You destroy the credibility of your argument when you throw around inaccurate, preposterous numbers.

It seems your interest iin commenting further is to discredit my statements about the actual total in millions of Rosie O’Donnell’s philanthropic endeavours. With my last post, there were facts about involvements of hers in fund raising that were not numerical figures but obviously were events which raised millions more than all the figures I provided. It seems to me that you are requiring accounting results which of course is an impossible task. Be it known that this woman has raised millions, didn’t have to spearhead various endeavours at all. So, please do not attack me personally with your “inaccurate, preposterous numbers” comment as I find it bullying and just plain nasty.
Obviously you are out to discredit Rosie’s efforts for some reason unknown to me.
Perhaps put your energies into attempting to raise even $1,000,000 yourself for a good cause. That may get rid of your need to somehow attack my kind and complimentary comments about a side of Rosie O’Donnell which others may not have been aware as she is most modest about her fundraising.
Enough said. Please refrain from making any more aggressive comments on this forum, it is not appropriate.

If expecting people to be truthful and accurate is now somehow ‘nasty’ and ‘bullying” i must be a nasty bully. However in the real world it is just rational behavior. You are not the arbiter of what is ‘appropriate” in this forum or anywhere else.I made no” personal attack” on you-expecting and demanding accuracy i neither personal or an attack. But if you think thatTyra Banks is a source authority I guess a rational discussion with you would be fruitless.I will not refrain from demanding accuracy in public discourse and where i “put(my)energies”remains none of your business.

I’m heartbroken over this

Rosie O’Donnell.. perhaps not fault of her own… upbringing is what it is

has she bit off more than she can chew? coin the phrase… too much?

all those kids… two failed marriages

will her health prevail?
is she strong enough to mind her choices? the surgery wont befall

I’ve never felt her to be so opinionated that it lessened her passion
kids, LGBT, awareness… bringing to the forefront issues that her public persona disqualified her because of overbearing… she cares

she spoke out … and yes, pioneered… I laud her

I’m disappointed : my morning lineup doesn’t include her… even I could tell that she seemed off kilt.. off balance… would spew … documentary to give meaning to her voice

as an LGBT person… I cared that she bring

Rosie O’Donnell… cull from what motivated you from the outset

may your flight plan soar

This show has run it’s course.

Don’t we all have personal and family problems at one time or another? Do we have the option of abandoning our job to deal with them? Sorry, but Rosie has been a train wreck ever since she “came out.” What happened to that delightful talk show hostess of years ago?

It wasnt until she came out that she felt comfortable to spread her outrageous brand of hatred and intolerance.

Thank you for your previous comments Aden.Glad we’re on the same page.

And helped to give “gay” a bad name.

I think that The View needs to call it a day. The show has become unwatchable and has run its course, imo. It’s not the same show without Barbara, Joy, and even Elisabeth. There’s zero chemistry on the panel. How can more cast additions and departures can they have? I think that The Talk on CBS has become the far better show.

It’s time to pull the curtain on The View. It is no longer an enjoyable programme to watch on television. O’Donnell’s exit is disappointing, but I understand her reasonings behind her, and wish her nothing but the best in her future with her children.

It just never ends!

I think the view has run it’s course… Time to put it to bed!

Surprise surprise…NOT. ABC…fool me once shame on you….fool me twice shame on me…THey need to hire Alexanda Wentworth.

And maybe missing from the official press release is the real reason: Rosie and Whoopi did not get along at all! I knew from the outset that Rosie would not want to take a backseat to Whoopi. Whoopi is the moderator (Rosie’s old job), and Whoopi bullies her way through every show, every discussion. I knew that they would butt heads, and indeed they have over race, Brian Williams, and a myriad of issues…

James, your comment is probably the only one that makes the most sense…and with which I agree.

I agree with James and Cee Cee. I have loved Whoopi Goldberg for forever it seems. However, I saw a side to her I did not like when Rosie came back on board and it wasn’t flattering to Whoopi at all. There was one time where Whoopi cornered Rosie on race relations. Whoopi shouted her down and gruffly yelled,”You’re a white woman, you do not know what racism is!”
Rosie looked like she was on the verge of tears because she believed she was on the side of righteousness.

Thanks, CeeCee and Harry for your replies! Harry, your assessment of the heated argument on race is spot on! Rosie was showing empathy and was not well received by Whoopi (to say the least).

Race has become the predominant topic on that show…has been for a while. My mom watches…I am beyond sick of racial discussions. The Talk never focuses on it and if the subject comes up it’s a very different dialogue.

No surprise there. Her attitude was too big for the show and now it seems her marriage as well. I wish her and her family well during this difficult period in their lives.

What a loss! I know Rosie’s voice will not be silenced, it has been toned down.

Will will miss you Ro!

I am sorry that Rosie is leaving, she as far as I am concern she is the only honest voice on that panel. She has never hidden the fact that she is dealing with some personal issues and I am glad that she is one of the few people in the world who have the ability to walk away from a high paying job without having to suffer financial consequences. I wish Rosie and her family the best in healing, strength and love.

Time to cancel this shipwreck. I still watch it, about once a month, but only when a favorite guest is on. I never watch the first half hour, where they spout their warped opinions of the day and talk all over each other. I DVR’ed Friday’s show only to see Kim Cattrall and Martha Stewart. I gotta admit, I enjoyed Martha and Rosie O’s craft segment.

Oh, and I don’t buy that Rosie’s leaving the show because of family needs. Being on the show is probably 3 hours of her day—an hour to tape the show, 30 minutes hair/makeup (tops), and 1.5 hours prep.

People still watch that show? ABC should bring back AMC and OLTL!!

I wish, Linda!…..sigh…

Why don’t the View fire or buy Whoppie out of her opinionated contract!!! Bring Joy back to the table and Laverne Cox along with Rosie Perez and the republican Nicole Wallace

It’s time for this show to tape its final episode. They should have done it when Barbara Walters retired from it.

Time to pull the plug…..

Why watch the view the price is right is better and a lot of fun and rosie is a fool

Rosie is jumping ship again how surprising, she’s really unreliable that’s all she has been consistent about, betcha Elisabeth hassleback is jumping with “joy” this news made her day.

why not get marie osmand, dolly parton, cher, or reba macintirer would be cool or sarah pallian

KUDOS FOR HER CO-STARS

Speaking with Access Hollywood, Deidre shared how affected she was by seeing those she work with taking time to honor her five decades contribution to the soap. “You look out and see this face, and this face, and this face, and think, ‘I know all of you. I’ve worked with all of you.  I’ve suffered with all of you.  I’ve wept with all of you. I mean, it’s just a family.”

Deidre was surprised by videos played to her during the celebration from Alison Sweeney (Sami), Thaao Penghlis (Tony) and Leann Hunley (Anna), plus The Young and the Restless icons, Eric Braeden (Victor) and Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki).

Speaking to the Access Hollywood cameras, Eric Martsolf who plays Deidre’s son on the show, Brady Black expressed, “My first day was with her. I walked in and she gave this giant just enveloped hug. I knew right then and there that this was probably a place I was going to be for a long time.”

Susan Seaforth Hayes, who plays Julie Williams and is the current longest running cast member of the soap, added, “When I was losing my husband (Bill Hayes) in real life, who was also my husband on the show, she came to be at Bill’s bedside. The support and the the tenderness, that outpouring has stuck with me a lot.”

Stephen Nichols (Steve “Patch”Johnson) said, “It’s the queen, the diva of daytime television, Deidre Hall. I had to dress up and I know that she’s the kind of person who would appreciate that because she’s always so perfectly coiffed and beautiful.”

RYAN GOSLING/DEIDRE HALL COLLAB UPDATE

With 50 years and showing no signs of slowing down, Hall recently learned she had another big star who also admired and adored her, three-time Oscar nominee Ryan Gosling.

Hall gave an update if a collab with Ryan is in the cards? We know Ryan’s partner, Eva Mendes is all for it! “I’ve been in touch with Eva, and she’s amazing and generous, and kind and thoughtful,” teased Hall. “So, I hope we all get to go toe to toe at some point.”

Patrick Muldoon Laid to Rest in Celebration of Life Attended by ‘Days of Our Lives’ Stars

Published

Over the weekend on May 16, former Days of Our Lives and Melrose Place star, Patrick Muldoon (ex-Austin Reed) was laid to rest in a celebration of life service attended by many who worked and knew him in the DAYS family. The mass was held at the St. Monica Catholic Church in Santa Monica, California.

Muldoon passed away back on April 19 when he had a sudden and fatal heart attack. The fan favorite actor was 57-years-old. The coroner’s report and death certificate reportedly indicated that underlying causes included: pulmonary embolism and coagulopathy disorder, a genetic condition that impairs the blood’s ability to form clots properly, were involved.

Galen Gering (Rafe, DAYS) posted an incredibly touching video montage, showing the handout of the celebration of life mass for Muldoon. Then, the lyrics to one of Muldoon’s beautiful songs, as he was also an accomplished singer and songwriter. That was followed by a photo of Christie Clark (ex-Carrie, DAYS), Alison Sweeney (ex-Sami, DAYS) and himself, and then one of Patrick with Kate Mansi (ex-Abigail, DAYS, now Kristina, GH). At the end of the compilation, Gering wrote, “We will never forget you, Bruv.”

Photo: KMansiIG

Kate Mansi shared a photo on her Instagram Story with Galen, Christie, Alison and herself from the the Celebration of Life expressing, “One beautiful day celebrating the spirit of Patrick Muldoon. No surprise it was as authentic as you my friend.”

Rodney Peete, the former USC football star also attended and took to his Instagram and shared, “Tough Day saying goodbye to my friend Pat Muldoon!!! He was my Teammate, My Brother, My Friend🙏🏾 miss you already brotha!!” It should be noted that while Patrick made his career in acting, he was also quite the athlete when he was growing up, including playing tight end for the USC Trojans in the 80s.

In addition, Patrick Muldoon’s ex-girlfriend and dear friend Denise Richards’ (ex-Shauna, B&B) daughter Sami Sheen was also in attendance and shared a snap of the handout for the service on her Instagram.

Soap fans first saw Muldoon as Kate’s (Lauren Koslow) son on DAYS back in 1992, where he quickly became pat of the love story between Austin Reed and Carrie Brady and of course, Carrie’s sister, Sami, wanting Austin for herself! Patrick left the series in 1995. He later made a comeback for appearances in 2011 and 2012.

On Melrose Place, Muldoon played bad buy Richard Hart from 1995-1996. He launched his acting career while in college landing the role of Matt in the 1990 sitcom Who’s The Boss? alongside the likes of Judith Light (ex-Karen, OLTL) and Tony Danza. Following his graduation, Patrick nabbed a recurring role as Jeffrey Hunter in Saved By The Bell by 1991 and the rest was history.

Now below, take a look at the images from Patrick Muldoon’s celebration of life and remembrances from Galen Gering. Then let us know, were you touched to see Patrick’s DAYS colleagues in attendance to remember one of their own? Share your thoughts in the comment section.

The on-screen father/son combo of General Hospital’s Dante and Rocco Falconeri as portrayed by Dominic Zamprogna and Finn Carr were part of high emotional stakes scenes on episodes airing May 11-15.

First, Finn Carr’s Rocco is so guilt-ridden and burdened with the secret that he shot WSB director, Ross Cullum that it’s eating him alive. So much so, that he gets into a heated argument with Charlotte (Bluesy Burke) and Danny (Asher Antonyzyn). Rocco feels so badly that Danny’s father was taken from him for parts unknown by the WSB, all because Jason refused to implicate Rocco as the shooter.

In a heartbreaking scene, Rocco shows up at Britt’s door and lets her know he can’t take it anymore and that the secret he is keeping is tearing him apart. The fear is palpable in Rocco’s eyes. Britt calls Rocco a hero for saving her life and Jason’s and he has to remember that. Britt hugs him and promises that he can come talk to her anytime. In that moment, Rocco felt seen and felt safe.

ROCCO ON THE EDGE

All of the beats mentioned above were played with depth and acting maturity by Finn Carr; that it is so very clear why the writers and the producers are so comfortable giving him the ball in this umbrella story. He steps up to the plate every time and hits it out of the park.

Rocco also overheard his parents fighting over him after Dante figured out that Rocco was responsible for the shooting, and confronted Lulu (Alexa Havins) for withholding the truth from him. As their argument escalated and their relationship was further threatened by the lies, Rocco listened to the whole thing from the outside porch.

Eventually Dante, who had learned the truth by having Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) help him piece together what happened the night Cullum was shot, has a heart to heart with his son. He asks Rocco to tell him in his own words the events that transpired, and promises Rocco, that even though he is the police commissioner, he is going to help him. Rocco goes step by step over how Cullum was about to strike Jason with a weighted-baton and how the gun was loose on the ground and he shot him. Dante says his actions saved Jason and Britt’s life, and that he is going to help his son from here on out. He just wished everyone had come to him sooner, because as the father it’s his job to protect his son, not the other way around.

DANTE COMES TO TERMS

Still later in the week, Dante is visited by Elizabeth, and they discuss how they are going to cover-up any evidence that Rocco was at the hospital the night of the shooting with a hand injury, and that Dante is going to make sure the evidence against Rocco disappears. Something that is a huge disconnect for anyone that knows what a fine and upstanding cop Dante has been through the years, but he is determined to help his son stay safe and to keep him close.

However, Cullum is on the hunt for said evidence, and thinks Danny may have shot him in the back (or does he … and he knows Rocco shot him?). He visits Dante’s office and wants the evidence in the shooting. Meanwhile, bets are we are a few story beats away from Danny learning Rocco shot Cullum.

Throughout all the material given to Finn Carr and Dominic Zamprogna they rose to the occasion. Finn, getting the opportunity to play the often uptight Rocco on the edge, and Dominic, showing us how he can make us feel what Dante is feeling just by watching the emotion and hurt in his eyes. Therefore, Michael Fairman TV names Finn Carr and Dominic Zamprogna our picks for the Power Performances of the Week.

Now below, let us know if you agree with our picks of Finn and Dominic as the standout performances of the week, and if so, what moment really tugged on your heartstrings featuring Rocco and/or Dante via the comment section.
