SNEAK PEEK: George Clooney's Guest Spot On Downton Abbey!

George Clooney is the perfect fit with his dashing good looks to be a part of ITV’s period drama, Downton Abbey!

The actor who wound up doing a guest shot on the British soap due to his friendship with series star Hugh Bonneville (the two appeared together in the film The Monuments), will appear as part of a sketch that will air on December 19th in the U.K in a special, sort of, episode.  The motion picture actor, director, producer, and Oscar winner, will play an American guest who is attending a wedding at the Crawley estate.

The sneak peek clip comes from the charity film set to debut during the holidays on the British network ITV, which is also a part of a fundraising drive called Text Santa which encourages U.K. residents to give to those in need.

In the video, it is none other than Elizabeth McGovern’s Cora who has some words with Clooney, and at the end of the video it says: ” George has done his bit, now you do yours!” with the Text Santa logo on the title card.  Pretty clever we must say!  As to who Clooney is playing … that will be revealed during the special!

Now after the jump watch the ultra-short teaser of George Clooney’s Downton Abbey bit!  Then share your thoughts below! Downton Abbey returns to the U.S. in a months time on January 4th when season five debuts on PBS Masterpiece Classic!
