Tyler Christopher Now ON CONTRACT With General Hospital!

Fantastic news today via Soap Opera Digest! Fan favorite, Tyler Christopher the dashing dark prince of the Cassadine clan, has signed a new contract with General Hospital to stay put as Nikolas!
Tyler expressed his enthusiasm for working with head honcho Frank Valentini and the entire GH team when he related to SOD: “It took us a few months to work out the details, but I signed last week. I’m really happy about it. I love the show and I’m having a great time.”
So that means Nikolas will be sticking around in Port Charles! Who then should Nikolas be paired up with romantically? Elizabeth, or someone new? Share your thoughts!
Actually, I think that Nicolas and Sabrina might make an interesting couple. I’m not really sold on her relationship with Patrick. Another possibility would be Britt. I know there are people who love his relationship with Elizabeth, but there’s a sense of entitlement with Nicolas and it comes out in a big way with Elizabeth. I’m also a little tired of women dating multiple men in one family.
great news! love him and as more leave…Steve Burton, Brandon Barash, Scott Reeves…Bradford Anderson going off contract…it’s nice to have a familiar great character come back on board!
I still kinda like the Liz/AJ pairing so I’m curious to see where that’ll go. Unless…they can find someone else great for AJ because I really want to see him treated fairly this time ’round.

GH needs one man, just one, who doesn’t tie up his life with one woman, and go through all the trauma of a love that will surely have tons of problems and end..(they all do)

Could NOT be more thrilled over this development! Tyler is a beautiful actor and Nikolas is a legacy character that can work in so many facets on the show. I am LOVING the Nik/Liz/AJ triangle and love how Ron Carlivati has written for and how Tyler and Becky have played this round of the Nikolas and Elizabeth relationship. If it had been done like this the first time around, it probably wouldn’t have offended so many fans. Also love how Nik has been interacting with his family like Laura, Alexis, and Lulu. Bravo GH, great job!
I couldn’t agree more. When they first hinted at a Liz/Nik pairing (when Lucky was still around) I could see the chemistry. They just went about it the wrong way. They ruined what could have been an awesome pairing. I hope they, the writers, will do it right this time. I like AJ & Liz, but I have a feeling they will do a Carly & AJ thing since Carly & Franco will not make sense at the moment. Now, if only they will break Sabrina & Patrick up. That pairing just feels icky.

Good news but now gh needs to show more of Laura, Scotty, Duke, Anna, Lucy, Kevin and Leslie! Then it will be great again! Would like to see Nik paired with Ava for awile…i feel they could have great chemistry…then maybe later he could hook up with Liz but i like Liz with A.J. at the moment!

I know Laura is supposed to be on her honeymoon with Scotty but why cant they show them having romantic moments like Scotty wine and dine her, take her dancing or just walking along a moonlite beach? Im very much for romance…something lacking in all soaps including the two online reboots.
I agree Jim, if they were trying to sell Scotty & Laura again, at least SHOW why she fell in love with him again. Then again, I don’t believe she did fall in love, just felt convenience with him, but surely they didn’t bring her back for this.

I have been watching it since I was about 15.That’s about 40 years. It has always been a great show. Are they ever going to bring Robin back?

Anyone BUT Liz please!! There’s something really sleezy about taking up with the love of your brother’s life- Liz seems to know this as she pursues her relationship with AJ. There are a few single ladies such as Maxie, Samantha, & Christina- or maybe bring someone new & exciting to the show. But, leave the trainwreck that was Nik & Liz just where it is- a mistake in the past!!!

Thrilled to hear that Tyler (Nikolas) is staying in Port Charles. He has always been a favorite of mine. I like him with Elizabeth, and I do think they will probably have the Elizabeth/Nikolas/AJ triangle play out a bit, but whether or not they ultimately pair him with her, we shall see. I think he would work well romantically with most any one. I just hope he does not end up with Brit (aka Britch), although that could be an interesting move, as he certainly will not take her nonsense.

I think Nikolas should be paired with a new character that has a familiar face. I thought he had a lot of chemistry with Sarah Brown when they shared a short storyline several years ago. Sarah is such a chameleon she could easily come back as a third character and possibly even play Claudia’s long lost sister. With so many high profile vacancies left at GH Sarah Brown is exactly what the show needs to fill the gaping whole it has on the powerhouse front and the chemistry between Sarah and Tyler is undeniable.
Hello….. Nikolas cannot be with Sam. They are cousins or something like that. Alexis is Sam’s Mother & is she is Nikolas’s cousin.. Creepy! Can’t stand Elizabeth, never have been able to stomach her. Sorry 🙁 I loved him with Emily & with Courtney. Carly, no way…. Nikolas is classy, even though she tries, Carly is not. Maxie is too young for him I think. Sabrina maybe. A real twist would be Brit since she is Faison’s daughter. Wow wouldn’t Helena have a royal cow with that???? Hmmmm, Sabrina, someone new or Brit would be my vote. This could be interesting. Have Brit straighten her crap out & start a relationship with someone besides Patrick. I think underneath her Mother’s Witchy influence, she might actually be decent. We’ll have to wait & see though.
They’ve never revealed the father of Britt’s baby. What if she and Nicolas had a one night stand and she has no idea who he is. I don’t think they’ve had scenes together yet. That would be a hoot.

Welcome back Tyler, but does that mean that Bunheads has been cancelled? 🙁 Loved you on that show too! I like Nik & Liz, but think AJ deserves a break. Now that Steve is gone, how about Olivia & Nik? She’d be a great mom to his son. Connie would be good too, like a second chance at motherhood, but Sonny needs a strong women in his life to ground him. Ava & Luke would be great too! Although I do like Luke w/ Tracy. Right now I see the direction of the writers is to get a younger audience to watch. Lots of teenage romance going on. 🙂

My first wish if for Elizabeth. No, way with Britt unless she REALLY cleaned her act up! I’m new to the show so I can’t say about any of his past romances. I know one thing for sure she needs to be special. It could be that girl next door scenario or somebody he just met that seems to give him grief.
When is Laura (Genie Francis) going to get a chance to ask her two children how they are both progressing????? Talk about a fractured show! Doesn’t matter who is supposedly on “contract” (as I understand Genie Francis is also), they have very precious screen time. It’s the tweens and teens that are hogging the air. Why???? They are NOT the ones that are watching the show. They are “otherwise engaged.” Why are TPTB so out of touch? Don’t they know their audience is the people who have watched for many years–and are looking–in vain–for the characters they love? Too simple for TPTB to understand that, I guess.
The show is no longer GH. It’s filled with characters from other shows whose just come on the show with no background or no connection–or a tenuous one at best– to the GH we have watched so many years. Nothing or no one of substance to identify with or feel empathy for or root for. Everyone of the “new” (from other shows) characters are distasteful, unlikable, or plain mean. That’s not what I tune in to see. We were all duped during the 50th anniversary happenings/bringbacks into believing that our favorite characters were going to be given something to do and be treated with dignity at least. Look what they have done to Laura’s character (dressed Genie Francis in appallingly unflattering clothes and made her empy-headed and dull–the cardinal sin. Pity poor Genie! Why is she always treated so shabbily after helping to save the show and giving so many years in service to the show. Shame! Shame!

please tell me this is true… and most off Tiffany and SEAN coming back would make it even BETTER… Rumorville: According to a tweet from @max_tuneage, John Reilly (Sean Donely) is taping two episodes for GH in mid-July. Apparently, this tidbit comes via Sharon Wyatt (Tiffany Hill). If you recall from our earlier Rumorville items, Sean and Tiffany’s daughter is due to arrive in Port Charles this summer.
This is great news. As a longtime TC fan, it’s gratifying to see him so valued by TPTB. As far as couplings go, I have no real preference. Having said that, though, I wouldn’t mind seeing what kind of chemistry Nikolas and Ava (Maura West) might have.
Love it! I was sad to see him go in the middle of a great story. This is out chance to see the Liz/Nick story play out the right way.

GENERAL HOSPITAL Preview: Serena Sets Her Sights on Michael; Jason’s Emotional Exit from the Mob
This week on all-new episodes of General Hospital, new and old motivations come into play with dangerous consequences. According to the just released GH video spoilers video for the week of August 3-7, a bailiff calls out, “All rise!”
Now it’s Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson) vs. Curtis (Donnell Turner), as the surgeon is suing the owner of the Savoy for assault that ruined is ability to operate. At the end of the day, which of these men has enough evidence against the other? Portia (Brook Kerr) is by Isaiah’s side, while Jordan (Tanisha Harper) is with Curtis.
Next, Lucy (Lynn Herring) has a plan to get the controlling shares of Deception away from Michael (Rory Gibson). She wants her daughter, Serena (Kelly Kruger) to seduce Michael. She tells her, “Pick out your most seductive suit.” Soon, we see Serena in her bathing suit at the Metro Court face to face with Michael.
Later, there is a small baggie containing three blue pills. Nina (Cynthia Watros) ask Willow (Katelyn MacMullen), “What did you do?” We also see Michael asking the same thing of Jacinda (Paige Herschell). Leading into this week, viewers know that Willow doesn’t want the former escort anywhere near her children, Amelia and Wiley. Is this how she stops her, or is Jacinda up to old tricks and wants to frame Willow? Remember when Jacindsa drugged Drew (Cameron Mathison)? Stay tuned.
Finally, in the pick-up from last Friday’s cliffhanger, an emotional Jason (Steve Burton) continues to tell Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he cannot work for him anymore. Sonny ask, “So that’s it? You’re Out?” We fade to black.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 7
Josslyn is taken aback. Ava courts a new ally. Jordan and Anna catch up. Isaiah vents to Lucas and Elizabeth. Michael questions Jacinda.

Fans near and far attended the weekend held this year at the Burbank Marriott Hotel. Vincent Pastore of ‘Sopranos’ Fame and ‘General Hospital’s’ Maximus Giambetti Dies at 80
Vincent Pastore, best known for his memorable role as Salvatore “Big Pussy” Bonpensiero on HBO’s The Sopranos has passed away.
The veteran actor was found dead on August 1st in his home in the Bronx, New York. Pastore was 80-years-old. The cause of death is yet to be determined.
As well as his role on The Sopranos, many soap fans will recall he played multiple smaller roles on the beloved One Life to Live from 1995 and 2004. However, in 2008, he landed the short-term role as Maximus Giambetti on General Hospital.
PASTORE WANTED TO BE ON GENERAL HOSPITAL
Maximus was the mobster father of Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) bodyguards: Max (Derk Cheetwood) and Milo (Drew Cheetwood)
According to Soap Opera Digest, Pastore told Soaps In Depth back in 2009, after appearing in a SOAPnet promotional campaign as a celebrity fan of General Hospital: “‘I’d love to be on the show. So they called up GH’s casting director (Mark Teschner) and Bobby (Robert Guza Jr. ex-head writer, GH) and they wrote me in!”
Pastore was a huge General Hospital fan from way back, who at one point told producers that he would watch the ABC soap opera while working in bars and nightclubs in the 70s and 80s.
Throughout his decades long career, Pastore appeared in films including: Goodfellas, Carlito’s Way and Men of Respect, The Jerky Boys: The Movie and the 1996 HBO TV movie Gotti.
In TV, besides The Sopranos, Pastore’s credits included: Law & Order, The Practice, Son of the Beach, Queens Supreme, Hawaii Five-0, Wu-Tang: An American Saga, plus the miniseries The Last Don II. Most recently, Vincent was a series regular on Gravesend and guest starred on Yellowjackets.
Pastore is survived by his daughter, Renee, son-in-law and granddaughter.
