WATCH: Days of our Lives Alum Peter Reckell in COVID-19 Short Film, ‘Permanent Resident’

Leave it to the creativity of former Days of our Lives fan favorite, Peter Reckell (Ex-Bo) and his wife, singer/songwriter, director, Kelly Moneymaker!

The two collaborated on this just released short, three-minute film about a man who must deal with an unwanted guest in his home during the coronavirus pandemic.

Moneymaker announced the news of the film via Twitter here late last week.

Really like Peter as an actor. I agree with a previous comment, I would like it to be
longer to see more of Peter’s acting. Just as your getting into the story line, the piece was over,darn!!!

Jacob Young Joins Cast of ‘The Walking Dead’ For Its Final Season

Daytime alum, Jacob Young (Ex-All My Children, The Bold and The Beautiful and General Hospital) has landed a role on the upcoming final season of the hit series, The Walking Dead.

According to Deadline: Young will play the role of Deaver.  However, details on who Deaver is, or may be related to, are being kept under wraps.

The upcoming AMC series final season will include a 24-episode order and it is set to premiere on August 22.

Jacob took to Twitter once the casting announcement was made and shared: “Beyond excited to be apart of such amazing and long running franchise!”

Young has won a Daytime Emmy for his role as Lucky Spencer on General Hospital and has also recently been hosting and producing his own podcast, Real Conversations with Jacob Young.  You can listen to the episodes here.

‘Hollyoaks’, ‘EastEnders’, ‘Coronation Street’ and ‘Casualty’ Receive BAFTA TV Award Nominations in Soap and Continuing Drama Category

The nominations have been announced for Britain’s the 2021 BAFTA TV Awards, and while dramas, Small Axe and The Crown, nabbed the most nominations with 15 and 10 each respectively, there was also a soap opera and continuing drama category which saw many beloved favorites from across the pond scoring a nomination.

The BAFTA TV awards ceremony are set to take place June 6 on BBCOne and BBC One HD, while the craft awards will be streamed on BAFTA’s social channels on May 24.

CASUALTY Simon Harper, Loretta Preece, Sarah Beeson, Jenny Thompson – BBC Studios/BBC One

Carrie Ann Inaba Takes Leave of Absence from ‘The Talk’

In a surprising announcement on Monday, Carrie Ann Inaba has revealed that she will be stepping away from her co-hosting duties on The Talk for now by taking a leave of absence to concentrate on her health and well-being.

This was also echoed by The Talk co-host Sheryl Underwood who let viewers know of the change and Inaba’s exit for now with the series.

In a post on her Instagram, Inaba shared: “I have decided to take a leave of absence from @TheTalkCBS to focus on my health and well being. I appreciate the support from you and my family at The Talk and hope to be back soon!”  Then in a follow-up post, Carrie Ann added: “I appreciate your support. I appreciate the love and support for The Talk family and I hope to be back soon. Take care and I’ll keep you updated.”

Underwood expressed: “We’d like to let you all know at home, Carrie Ann is taking a leave of absence from the show to focus on her well-being. She appreciates the support from all her fans and her family at ‘The Talk.’ We miss you Carrie Ann, and we look forward to having you back with us soon.”

Inaba’s departure for the moment comes on the heels of Sharon Osbourne departing the series for good, following the controversy that arose with remarks Osbourne made to Underwood on the March 10th episode of the afternoon series.

No word yet on who will replace Inaba temporarily.
