Y&R Cast Zuleyka Silver In New Role
There will be more new faces this fall on CBS’ The Young and the Restless. In casting news, the daytime drama will welcome actress Zuleyka Silver to the cast.
Silver will play the role of Audra Charles, who is said to be, a high powered executive who’s lured to town by one of Genoa City’s business icons.
Zuleyka has previously been seen on CBS’ Young Sheldon, Hawaii 5-0, Code Black, and The Mentalist.
In addition, late night talk show fans may recall her recurring role as “Mrs. Guillermo” on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
Look for Zuleyka to first air on the Friday, September 23rd episode of the top-rated soap opera.
So, which Genoa City business icon will bring Audra to town? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
I understand the need to continuously refresh the cast and bring in new characters. But Y&R is hardly firing on all cylinders lately, and I think a major reset is badly needed – not another new character who will either be poorly utilized (like Ashland) or underutilized (like Sally). It would also be nice to see the show bring back some classic characters and lean into its past more, like other soaps tend to do. Y&R used to be great at this, but the show has definitely regressed in the last few years.
So…another new character we don’t need. And just who will this Selena Gomez/Camila Cabello lookalike belong to? Since we haven’t even developed the Allie character, I hope we don’t have another unknown sister/daughter/niece story brewing. Just means less time for Lauren, Traci, Kevin, Christine, Esther, Gloria, Jill, et al. This is no judgment on the actress; it’s not her fault our show is dying on the vine.
Except for Kevin, all the characters you list are grandmother age or beyond. The show is called The Young and the Restless, it needs some more young blood. Now whether anyone can write a proper story for this new character is the million dollar question.
I don’t care how old they are…Maybe they’re the “restless” component. Wow, that sounds corny. But the younger generation just isn’t cutting it lately. Noah and Allie are cute and beautiful but dull as dishwater. Kyle and Summer are saddled with a child and consuming careers…not much happening there. Sally is softening quicker than margarine…And Diane is transparent and odious. Rejuvenate the Abbott and Fisher/Baldwin family, including Fen, and deep-six Imani, too.
I don’t think “more new faces” is exactly what Y&R viewers have been clamoring for.
No faith in Josh Griffith or this character tbh.
Mariah , Tessa, Ally, Noah and even Moses and Faith are m.i. or have no real purpose on the show . He cant write for any of them. I gaurentee here comes another dud
He canned all the Rosales which Mal Young fleshed out only to can them and then bring on all these other newbies
Looking forward to some new faces and compelling storylines. Hopefully they won’t disappoint as done with Ashland Locke chapter. Maybe this new character will add some buzz to that drab Devon-Amanda tale.
lakovos
The only buzz created will be when we hear that Devon, Amanda and her pushy sister are leaving Y&R altogether.
Y&R is about as bad as I’ve seen these past months. The storylines are just mind-numbing to watch. I can’t imagine the cast is happy about this. Certainly the vets see how bad the show is. Josh Griffith has truly sent this show into the ditch. I think people only turn it on out of habit. Just nothing to look forward to.
Everytime I see a post under y n r with the iconic logo I anticipate saying ‘ headwriter out’!!!!
The show is embarrassing
I have carpal tunnel for how much my fingers press the FF button
No new love to root for
Noah and Ally are boring
Kyle and Summer have turned into a old married couple who only talk about their inlaws and work
Tessa and Mariah haven’t had a real story since they got together
No intrigue or suspense
Production is stiff and awkward
The background music just sad
Sylvia, that’s exactly how I feel..nothing to look forward to. Remember those Friday cliffhangers from days past? The Adam rejection story is on its umpteenth go-around. Another Victor cover-up of a self-defense killing? Wow, it’s been at least three years since the last one. Sally and Chloe are in limbo, Devon is pulling the same autocratic crap he did with Anna and Fen, and this awful Diane is running roughshod over the whole city! Nothing to look forward to, indeed.
Just an observation about the future of cable. In a word, SCARY. I just watched the last Reliable Resources with Brian Seltzer after 30:yrs on CNN this Sunday morning. Then there is NBC putting DOOLs onto peacock…for the time being. I’m worried about what is going to happen to everything else we like since hedge funds and big business seem to be only concerned with ratings and dollars. And maybe political influence. I remember it started years ago when I think it was GE at the time bought the NBC newsroom.
Hello Rose! So glad I noticed your commentary here. I certainly agree with your concern about the future of cable as well as the influence of big business and politics in media. I have watched Reliable Sources, well, reliably, over many years, including the last 9 years helmed by Stelter. I think CNN made a big mistake canceling his very popular (longest running on CNN) show.
You can’t blame Stelter, or CNN as a whole, or journalists in general, for calling a liar a “liar,” a racist a “racist,” a criminal a “criminal,” an insurrection an “insurrection,” an election lie an “election lie.”
Jeff Zucker expertly managed CNN and brought the cable channel its highest ratings. This new regime is unfortunately dismantling it. You need to have news as well as commentary, and CNN has commentators from the right in virtually every panel discussion.
Jamesj75…Thanks for your reply. Feel sorry for Ted Turner. He gave us CNN and TCM. They’ve already started ruining access and format to TCM. Sad.
My earlier comment cowers in light of this thrust into reality. Have no understanding of reasons why programs get cancelled. Reliable Sources was a most important program. The intent unlike most any other. This moves into reality and philosophy. Thank you for adding to the dialog here. As said before, know little about this. Thanks!
Thank you for your reply and input, Tani. I don’t pretend to know or understand why certain programs get canceled either. Thanks for saying, “Reliable Sources was a most important program.” I agree. Take care, Friend!
How long have Chance, Noah, Ali, Sally and, in one sense, Diane been around? They feel pretty new to me. Still a few days behind in viewing but so dislike this Victor thing. Years ago I stopped watching for a bit due to Victor’s script. Of course, I don’t recall what it was all about.
Over the years of viewing certain actors seem to “spark” upon occasion. Often it is the role and writing which brings notice. Adam has stood out recently and Diane is a very talented performer. I don’t recall watching when she was previously on camera. When Sally appeared I wrote she was either the best or the worst actress because I disliked her so. She rests upon the side of the best.
Did Zuleyka Silver ever play in any Tyler Perry’s sitcom in her earlier years of her life.

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).
Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.
Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON
Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”
Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).
Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.
“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?
During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.
Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.
You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.
Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.
