The Young and the Restless, and all of daytime for that matter is becoming the place to be for actors for quick arc, stunt-casting jobs.  CBS’s number one soap, Y&R, has brought into the fold motion picture star, Eric Roberts to play villainess attorney, Vanice Adams, who comes on board defend another slice of evil, Adam, played by Michael Muhney.

TV Guide Magazine spoke with Roberts about returning to his daytime roots.  Roberts started on Another World as Ted Bancroft at the age of 19.  Now this July 23rd, Roberts gets a taste of the fast-paced world of soaps circa 2010.   Here is what Roberts says about how he came to the decision to come back and try some soap suds for awhile:  “I made a list of pros and even stronger pros about doing Y&R and I couldn’t say no. I’m crazy about the people there. I worked with [co-executive producer] Paul Rauch way back on AW. And as much as I like seeing the world on location, it’s nice to have a job in town. I’ll be with Y&R through the summer. I’m one of the lucky ones, man. I really am. Everybody’s going on and on about why I’m on daytime TV now. And, through you, I’d like to take the time to answer them: I’m a human being living on planet Earth with responsibilities and bills to pay and I’m very proud to be employed. [Laughs] I wish such a good job on everybody.”

And, on another tidbit, according to EW.com , Sean Young is extending her stay on Y&R as Meggie the barmaid,  the woman who attempted to pick up billionaire, Victor Newman, played by Sean’s real life friend, Eric Braeden.  Young is now expected to stick around the soap through August.
