Y&R’s Michelle Stafford Pens Farewell Message to James Hyde: “Thank You For Being Such a Positive Spirit On Set and a Great Scene Partner”
Monday’s episode of The Young and the Restless brought with it what appears to be the shocking death of Jeremy Stark (James Hyde) at the hands of Phyllis (Michelle Stafford), or is it?
During the disturbing and emotional scenes, Phyllis wants to let her children know she is alive and return to the land of the ‘living’ after she and Stark made it appear she died, in their efforts to frame Diane (Susan Walters) and put her behind bars for good.

Now, hiding out in a motel room, Phyllis had let Jeremy know she wants out, and yet he won’t let her leave. This leads to showdown where Stark grabs a scissor and goes after Phyllis who runs into the bathroom. In the scene that follows, Phyllis is covered in blood, and so too is the scissors, and a body is wrapped in sheets on the motel room floor. Phyllis drags the body out and her cover-up begins. Looks like in self-defense Phyllis killed the guy!
Later, Michelle Stafford took to her Instagram account to share a few words on her co-star, since this would mark James Hyde’s last airdate. Stafford shared: “SPOILER ALERT!!!!” Ok, just so folks don’t get mad. Hey @jameshydeofficial thank you for being SUCH A JOY to work with!! We ALL love you! Thank you for being such a positive spirit on set and a great scene partner. I’m sorry the marriage was short lived and I’m sorry I stabbed you to death ✂️ Those scissors sure were sharp 🥴But… ya know, Jeremy can always have a twin brother. 😉 Go Kill it! 🖤 ”
Meanwhile, on an Instagram Live, Hyde confirmed his exit by answering a fan’s question: “This is the end for him.” But later added, “We’re doing a soap, so you never know.” He then requested of his ‘live’ participants to let the powers-that-be at Y&R if they want him to return: “Whatever you guys want to happen, join forces and let them know.” James also revealed that he ‘loved the character’ of Jeremy Stark, adding, “It’s unfortunate the way it happened, but that’s the way it goes.”

I was hoping this scene was just a bad dream ! I love his character, you never knew what to expect. I have seen James through the years on other soaps , I just got to say he was amazing!! I love to watch him . Please bring him back

I agree. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone. There are so many hypocrites on this soap. Victor faked his death, but somehow he is forgiven for all his sins. Everyone on that show has done despicable acts but somehow they are forgiven. People do change and deserve a 2nd chance. Give Diane a break and let Jack be happy!! Phyllis is a complete nut case!

Well now that would be a good story too. I love Michelle Stafford as Phyllis and James as Stark. First off what a great looking man, look at his younger pictures he was absolutely gorgeous, still is and seems like the nicest sweetest human on the planet. I hope they bring him and Phyllis both back in some way because I loved the storyline it kept me on the edge of my seat for weeks.. they both were, are such great actors! Good luck James and Michelle and whatever endeavors you pursue next.. we who have been watching y&r for 50 years,love you both and hope to see you return..

Kyle is forgiving because he missed her growing up and he got his mom back. Look at the dumb, bratty Summer, with all the horrible things her mother has done, including faking her own death, I don’t see her having any problem forgving Phyllis. Everyone deserves a second chance, including Diane, if it all comes out that she’s been truthful and repentant. “The Young & The Reckless” bc they all seem to get a little Reckless with the Restless!! Been watching for over 42 years now! Keep em’ coming! Not ever a bad episode. I feel like I grew up w/Christine on the show bc she & Danny, they are who I started watching during summer break from middle school.. then called Jr. High; I was 14 & loved that it came on 5 days a week! I had to start recording it later on but that was one ☝ great summer and I love that some of the same actors like Nikki, Victor and Jack are still on the show! Love my CBS Soaps and my Paramount App! I agree. She was fighting for her life. Let him stay dead and never come back. Let Diane come to her true self and let us see what Alley is truly about. Don’t think she can be trusted. It would serve Jack right. He falls for anything and anybody. Let Tucker find him a real woman cuz Ashley is not worth the trouble. Tucker has his issues but he can do better than her. Last but not least bring Devon to his senses and let the spoil brat go back to her daddy so Elana can have Devon again and Nate and Victoria can lose EVERYTHING.
We need some real time and some excitement and happiness with the right people on this soap.

I would love for Phyllis to pull off a self defense claim, blame stark for framing Diane and get Diane freed. Phyllis becomes a hero for being the one to free Diane and absolve herself. Her children are thrilled and Kyle & Jack along with Michael get to be right about Diane’s innocence. Then just when everyone thinks it’s all done with, Chance finds out that it was Stark AND Phyllis. When Stark saw that Phyllis was about to flip, he sent breadcrumbs to Chance to cover his butt. Lol, I know Y&R is not going to read this. Just my version of events.
Now that’s a plot line I can agree with. Phyllis is nothing if not smart. There’s anyways a method to her madness!

On soaps you never if a person dead for sure. They didn’t show what or who rap in the Sheets. Who no he could pop up months from now. How’s now going show up alive with Jeremy already dead. How can she say Jeremy dead?? First, let Victoria fall off her throne. Victor did his son wrong again. Leave Victoria’s assistant alone and let them be happy. Let Diane sweat it out a little longer. Michael shouldn’t have taken her case. Jack acts like a love sick fool. Don’t like Sally Spectra w/Nick at all. Two brothers that’s nasty. Give Nick something else to do.

Phyllis should have called the police and acted like Jeremy had held her hostage and forced her to marry him, staged her death to get Diane put in jail. He tried to kill her when she tried to escape, they fought and she stabbed him. Could gave been her way home.

I am tired of Phyllis and her obsession with Diane. I don’t like Phyllis or Nikki or Ashley. I was not watching when Diane was on years ago and so I don’t share their hatred for the character! All of these petty women have done comparably bad things and their characterization of Diane as the worst person ever born on the planet seems hypocritical! Do I want Stark to return? Not if this ridiculous feud with Diane continues! Also did they use a real corpse to fool the cops into thinking Phyllis and the other ambulance person were dead! I don’t get that part!

I was surprised, it was an unexpected ending for me, but it worked. I thought he would kidnap Phyllis and hold her captive for awhile. It will be fun to see how she spins her return to Genoa City.

I don’t understand this story line. Her being able to get Stark instead of him getting her gave her the perfect out! She could have blamed it all on him, and went home! She could have stated he kidnapped her from the ambulance, and was holding her captive. She could have stated he forged the marriage to him. The whole thing is a really big mess now! Very frustrating! Like no one is going to see her dragging a dead body? Walking around with blood all over her!? Truly unrealistic story line!

Been watching Y&R since day#1 and I’m sorry to say this, but I’m happy to see Jeremy Stark go. One problem, though….I do find it somewhat difficult believing Phyllis able to overtake him alone and killing him. Then, again, I’ve been surprised before at storyline endings. So, what will be, will be. Just ❤️ this soap!!

Honestly, Phyllis should have made it look as though Stark was holding her captive/kidnapped her to set Diane up, but she was able to turn the tables on him before he could kill her! This whole scheme would have been put on Stark and she would have been able to come back to her kids…..no harm no foul!!

REPORT: Nicholas Chavez Not Returning to General Hospital
For those who were holding out hope that Daytime Emmy winner and fan favorite, Nicholas Chavez would be returning to General Hospital after filming his leading role in Ryan Murphy’s Monsters anthology, it looks like those hopes have been dashed.
According to a report from TV Line, although unconfirmed from General Hospital or a representative for Chavez, the actor will not reprise his role as Spencer Cassadine on the long-running ABC soap opera and continue the love story of Sprina opposite Tabyana Ali (Trina, GH).
Chavez was cast as Lyle Menendez over the the summer of 2023 for the second season of Murphy’s limited Monsters series on Netflix. In the upcoming season, the series will focus on the the case of Lyle and Erik Menendez, the two well-to-do Beverly Hills brothers accused of murdering their parents in 1989.

After word from Chavez casting was revealed, GH fans were concerned over the fate of the Sprina story, a spokesperson for GH shared, “We support Nicholas’ endeavors and look forward to having him return to General Hospital once this project is wrapped.”
In story, the series “killed off” Spencer when he went overboard with Esme to the steely waters below after being injected with a drug, thanks to Esme and falling into the Seine River in France. However, his body was never recovered, and believed to have drowned or washed away. Thus, leaving an opening for Spencer to return in the form of Chavez or be recast down the line.

TV Line shared that ‘multiple sources’ are confirming that Chavez is not returning to the ABC soap opera, which is what many had suspected might be the case once he left for this major starring role in a Ryan Murphy project. Chavez has been relatively quiet on social media for months.

The Michael Fairman Channel spoke with Nicholas Chavez for a virtual interview when he first joined the show in 2021, and spoke to him right after when he won the Daytime Emmy in 2022 – you can see those below.
No word yet on when Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menéndez Story will debut on Netflix, but it is assumed later this year.

DAYS and ‘Supernatural’ Alum Jensen Ackles Joins the Cast of Justin Hartley’s CBS Series ‘Tracker’
Look who’s joining Justin Hartley’s hit freshman drama, Tracker! None other than another soap alum, former Days of our Lives and Supernatural favorite Jensen Ackles.
In a reveal via Hartley’s Instagram on Thursday, Ackles is set to play Hartley’s on-screen brother on the CBS procedural drama. In Tracker, Colter Shaw is estranged from his brother, Russell, which has been a big part of the mystery of season one.
Ackles is best known for his long run as Dean Winchester in The CW’s Supernatural, a role he reprised in the prequel of the series The Winchesters. He also recently starred in ABC’s Big Sky as Sheriff Beau Arlen and in The Boys as Soldier Boy.

Jensen was the original Eric Brady on Days of our Lives, a role he played from 1997-2000, before departing for the world of primetime and film. Eric was in love with Nicole played by Arianne Zucker. The part of Eric was recast with Greg Vaughan taking over the role in 2012.

In his Instagram post, Justin thanked everyone for watching Tracker, and then revealed Ackles as the surprise casting announcement in the role of Russell, while Jensen was playing pinball in the video! No word yet on when Jensen’s first episode as Russell will air. Stay tuned.

Jack Wagner Open to Making an Appearance in ‘Melrose Place’ Reboot and Shares, “You Never Really Die on a Soap”
With the Melrose Place revival the talk of the town, now Jack Wagner (ex-Frisco, GH, ex-Nick, B&B and ex-Peter Burns, MP) has weighed-in on it and if he would show up in the new series if it should find a home.
Currently, CBS Studios is developing a reboot starring Heather Locklear, Daphne Zuniga and Laura Leighton. But what is Dr. Peter Burns were to show up alive?
As those who saw the end of the original MP know, Peter and Amanda (Locklear) faked their deaths and then tied the knot with Peter on a beach, supposedly in a “happily ever after” scenario.

Speaking with PEOPLE, Wagner expressed, what we all know who watch the soaps, that no one is never, ever really gone for good. Jack expressed, “You never really die on a soap, right? How they unfold those two characters (Peter and Amanda), it’d be fantastic how they sort of tell that story.”
Wagner added, “That was a great finale to be included in, especially with Heather. If I’m asked to come back, I’d absolutely entertain that.”

The original Melrose Place aired for seven seasons from 1992 to 1999. The story featured the residents of an apartment complex, whose lives were intertwined. Eventually Wagner and Heather Locklear dated fro 2007-2011.
As previously reported, the new Melrose Place share that some of original neighbors and friends reunite after a death. The loglines add, “The pressure cooker of a reunion soon uncovers old traumas, rekindles old romances, reignites old resentments, and reveals new secrets… throwing our characters into chaotic drama that’s reminiscent of the past, but with a much more modern perspective.”
