Trevor St. John Announces His Departure from The Young and the Restless

In a shocker, Trevor St. John revealed on Tuesday that he is leaving the cast of The Young and the Restless and his role as Tucker McCall.

The popular actor took to his account on X and in a series of posts said his “thank you’s” and bid farewell to the top-rated soap opera.

St. John shared, “As you well know, Tuckers come and Tuckers go, and so the cycle continues… this Tucker is in his go phase… I thank each and every member of the wonderful cast, the crew, the directors, the producers and production staff, and CBS/Sony for the great experience from day one to the last. I feel so fortunate to have played such a terrific role.”

Trevor continued: “Most importantly, I want to offer my heartfelt gratitude to you the (Y&R) fans. THANK YOU!” Tucker might be gone for the time being, but I’m not going anywhere. I’ve got projects in the works, and if you haven’t seen my film, A Good Enough Day, it’s now available to stream for free on Tubi!”

The news of his exit comes just two years shy of his time on The Young and the Restless.  St. John made his Genoa City debut in September of 2022 as the new Tucker, last played by Days of our Lives, Stephen Nichols (Steve). The role was first played by actor William Russ.

No word from St. John or Y&R as to when his last episode will air on the top-rated soap opera.  In story, Tucker is losing his company to a takeover by Audra and Victor, while Ashley is finally getting help she needs after her personality split.

So, what do you think about Trevor’s departure from Y&R? Comment below.

He was so great on OLL – but sadly the writing for Tucker was so so disappointing. It’s thanks to a dvr that I can “run” through the soap for select scenes. One would think being “Catherine’s son”, they would have written him with her style and techniques in business. All we had was months and months and months of a grown man whining. Trever, send your resume to GH -maybe they can come up with a new character worthy of your talent.

I agree!

I agree also he can’t wait for losing. He can’t find love in his life. He can’t move on from Ashley. Somebody needs to come in whenever he comes back. He should come back with a new company and a new wife

Trevor is a wonderful actor, I will miss him as Tucker McCall. I am hearing rumors, that Roger Howarth will come to Y&R. I hope this is true. Maybe he can be Jordan’s son?

This seems to be yet another Y&R fail to establish a lasting strong nemesis to the Genoa City establishment. It disappoints more because of the character connections to Katherine Chancellor and Devon Hamilton and the capacity of the actor. I had high hopes and they are dashed.

I feel the same way

Me too

Love Trevor St John. I met him years ago at the Disney Soap Opera weekend. He was so kind and sweet. Stayed open until everyone had a talk with him. Hopefully, he will show back up soon. Sooo much talent !!

This seems to be a pattern when Josh Griffith’s signs actors to contract roles.

Gee, I was starting to like him and hate to see the slut and Victor get the best of him at the end. Good luck to him in his future endeavors, he’s a great actor.

Yes, Violet, I also liked him but the writers let him down. It seems all Tucker could do was prowl around the Club issuing vague, empty threats which never materialized. Too bad.

Yes, the riders did let him down. I don’t understand how they are Writing the roles that he has to play. At this point, they need to get new writers. I’m becoming very disappointed

Well, maybe that’s one reason he’s leaving. Thought he was worth more than what he was being given.

Soaphound, Hi, have missed you! Now, this will sound really stupid, but I think you’ll understand. I hated a lot of the things he did, including his obsession with Ashley, etc. but I always felt sorry for him, when the tables were turned. Does that make any sense? Hope to hear more from you.

Hi VIOLET.. I feel sorry for Tucker in regard to seeing Dom. I mean the hypocrisy…does anyone keep Dom away from Victor Newman? I can’t think of anything Tucker’s done that compares with the Moustache. And what exactly is Tucker going to do that will scar a 2/3-year-old for life? Take him our bar-hopping?

Soaphound, exactly right! I think I’d rather have Tucker for my kid’s grandfather than Victor Newman who ,

Hi, Violet. I feel sorry for sorry for Tucker in regard to seeing Dom. I mean the hypocrisy! Does anyone have any qualms about Dom being around Victor? I can’t think of anything Tucker’s done that compares with the Moustache. And how exactly will Tucker permanently scar baby Dom… take him out bar-hopping?

Well honestly a really good actor but boy that did not work almost as bad as when the great Maura west played Diane the character of tucker has been a bust and the playing from Trevor came off as creepy young and restless really needs to take a good look at itself he won’t be missed but the show has other problems and remains a hard watch

Buh bye. I really disliked his portrayal of Tucker. Always mumbling and it felt like he was phoning it in and didn’t wanna be there. I think it just might be his acting style because I remember thinking this same thing when he played Todd on OLTL. But there the character was supposed to be aloof. Tucker McCall is supposed to be charming and a cutthroat business man. This version went from one failed scheme to the next.

I definitely agree with you

Such a shame someone so talented leaves. He was so fun to watch.

I do like Trevor but I never got into the character of Tucker.

Hope we see him in a new show very soon.

I never understood this casting decision. TSJ is 20 years younger than Stephen Nichols, who did very well in the role. Tucker is supposed to be the exact same age as Jill, yet that fact seemed to not matter anymore. And he was never written with any teeth – he’s supposed to be a ruthless businessman and provide a true nemesis for Victor and Jack, yet he was always moping around trying to win Ashley back. Ironically, Ashland Locke was supposed to be the same type of character, but he was also a bust. And yet, I think Richard Burgi would have been a much more appropriate casting choice for the role of Tucker.

Well said!

Richard Burgi is my choice for any role, except for this real mean S.O.B he played on the old defunct TV Nighttime show, Las Vegas, when he tried throwing , Samantha, played by Vanessa Marcil, out of a moving plane. Anyone that watched that show, remembers hm, I’m sure.

I am sad Tucker is leaving. He added humor with his remarks. He is a great actor. Wishe he would stay but if he must move on I wish him the best and will be looking for him in other shows and or movies

Josh Griffith’s loses another top actor, Trevor was awesome, and Gina was awesome.
Can we lose Josh and get someone who can give GH a run for its money?

Y&R casts good actors and hands them lousy scripts

I never forget how Noah and Allie were written off just to give Summer and Kyle a story. That does the same stuff over and over again by doing nothing that stand out for me. I fear the same for HE (Claire) that’s going to be in a storyline with them which they think it makes a good T.V. Griffith cast two great actors who played Ashland and Jeremy also gone. Then the actress who plays Elena, and sidelined other actors who play their characters without given a story. Still there, Trevor is a wonderful actor with talent. You can tell I’m sad and disappointed that he’s leaving.

I am mad that the killed off Jeremy (JH). At the very least, recast James Hyde as Jeremy’s “good twin brother” (Joseph perhaps) and open up the GCPD again to replace the Chief of Police. I’m not liking that everyone is either at Society, The Athletic Club, Crimson Lights, Victoria’s or Victor’s place. There are no more courtrooms or jails. The hospital appears to be gone as well.

SO unhappy (and frustrated) to hear this. I didn’t know him before Y&R, absolutely loved him immediately.

This makes me tremendously sad.
Young and the Restless wasted this extremely talented actor on a nothing story that went nowhere for two years.
I’ve been a TSJ fan since he started on OLTL and was thrilled when he came back to soaps, but Y&R really blew it!

Thank you! He was the worst! Stephen Nichols set the bar awfully high but Trevor never sniffed the essence of TM! None of the characters liked him. I really dont want another recast. The character did his dirty deeds, be gone!

I am going to miss you terribly. You are a wonderful actor. I hope you come back. All the good ones leave. Y&R are blowing their chance letting you go. Good luck and many blessings to you.

He is better off this show is like watching paint dry

When Victor Newman gets too uncomfortable with his revenge schemes I always need to take a break from Y&R. Guess I am being penalized by the loss of Trevor St. John while on my unpaid sabbatical. For me he was a delight. I would have loved to see him go after Victor’s purchase of whatever that other company was called. Of course, we all love Eric Braden, but Victor often is too much for me. Hope Jack doesn’t crumble under the new multilevel attacks.

Michael Easton Exits General Hospital

UPDATED: Early Wednesday morning, Michael Easton revealed that he has already taped his final scenes as Hamilton Finn on General Hospital.

The popular actor, who arrived at GH after his enduring run as John McBain on One Life to Live, took to his Instagram and announced his departure from the ABC daytime drama series, following weeks of rumors that he was out at the show. Reportedly, Easton’s final airdate is Thursday, June 27th and the video Easton posted was pre-taped awhile ago.

Standing outside the entrance to the set of General Hospital in what seems to be the wee hours of the morning, Easton shared the following message to his fans: “I’ve always been partial to the Irish Wish goodbye. That’s where you leave the party without actually telling anyone you’re gone. But I thought you all deserved better.”

Photo: MEastonIG

Easton then expressed, “So, I just wanna let you know, I just filmed my final scenes here at General Hospital. I’ve loved every minute that I’ve been here. I want to thank the entire cast and crew for allowing me to share their stage this past 10 years. Most importantly, I wanna thank all of you for the kindness and love you shown me and my family. I won’t ever forget you.”

In an emotional closing, Michael ended his video message, with, “As I walk out here for the last time, and with apologies to the great Lou Gehrig, I feel like the luckiest man on the face of the earth.” Ironically, the former New York Yankees baseball star in Easton’s reference, died of ALS (also known as “Lou Gehrig disease”), which was part of the storyline Michael recently played out on-screen with Finn’s dying father, Gregory, who had the same disease.

Michael punctuated his thoughts within the Instagram post with one final goodbye, “Thank you for your kindness. My heart is filled with love and gratitude.”

Currently in story, Finn has lost his sobriety after seven years, and is in the midst of a serious downfall after his father, Gregory passed away and his daughter, Violet (Jophielle Love) has been taken out of his home and has been served a restraining order to not come near her. How will Easton depart GH? Is Finn exiting the Port Charles canvas to get the help he needs?

Clearly, this marks the end of the line for Finn and Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) as they just had it out over his drinking, and with yesterday’s announced return of Jonathan Jackson (Lucky) to GH this summer.

Photo: ABC

Easton’s GH journey started when he took Llanview’s McBain to Port Charles after One Life was canceled. He debuted on the long-running soap in March 13, 2012. However, due to the legal disputes with ownership of the characters from One Life to Live, between ABC and Prospect Park, he had to leave the series. Michael’s last episode as McBain was in March of 2013. Next, General Hospital brought him back as a new character, Silas Clay, in May of 2013. Two years later in 2015, Silas was killed-off.  Easton made one more GH run, this time as Dr. Hamilton Finn which he had been playing since the spring of 2016.

Throughout Easton’s time on General Hospital, he has earned a Daytime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Daytime Drama Series back in 2018.  Given his recent performances, many suspect that Michael might close his time on GH with another Emmy nomination in 2025.

You can watch Easton’s emotional goodbye below.

Now let us know, what are your thoughts on Michael Easton’s exit from GH? Sad to see him go? How do you think the show will write-off Finn? Share your thoughts in the comment section.

Jonathan Jackson Returning to General Hospital as Lucky Spencer

The big return that General Hospital’s executive producer Frank Valentini teased after the show won Outstanding Drama Series at the 51st annual Daytime Emmy Awards has turned about to be, as promised, a true fan favorite and beloved actor for longtime fans of the ABC daytime drama series.

Five-time Daytime Emmy winner, Jonathan Jackson is on his way back to the ABC soap in his signature role as Lucky Spencer, the son of the iconic supercouple, Luke (Tony Geary) and Laura (Genie Francis).

According to Deadline, Jackson’s on-screen return will happen later this summer and is expected to be for a “long run.” This announcement comes on the heels of yesterday’s GH casting news when they revealed that two-time Daytime Emmy winner Bryan Craig was coming back for a one-day appearance in the role of Morgan Corinthos.

Photo: JPI

As for Jackson, he began his GH career at 11-years-old back in 1993, winning viewers hearts and captivating the audience with his brilliant performances. In fact, his on-screen dad, eight-time Daytime Emmy winner, Tony Geary, has many times said that Jonathan is his all-time favorite scene partner.

Jonathan stayed with GH until 1999. The role was then recast with Jacob Young and later with Greg Vaughan. Eventually, Jackson returned to the role of Lucky for another run in 2009 to 2011.

After his GH departure, Jackson went on to star in ABC’s country music soap opera, Nashville in the role of Avery Barclay for six seasons playing opposite another soap alum, Hayden Panettiere (ex-Lizzie, GL). Jonathan returned once again to GH for a limited run back in 2015. Jackson has won five Daytime Emmys for his work as Lucky in 1995, 1998, 1999, 2011 and again in 2012.

When Valentini told ABC7 ‘s On the Red Carpet at the Daytime Emmys, “A former cast member is coming back, and I think that the audience will go crazy for him,” speculation was rampant of just which male actor was coming back to the show. Many fans hoped and many predicted Jackson, and now they will get their wish. Could Lucky finally reunite with Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) when he returns to Port Charles? Stay tuned.

Recently, Jonathan has appeared in the film Unsung Hero about the family back-story of the hit Contemporary Christian/Pop duo For King and Country, plus has appeared in numerous other TV, film and music projects.

Jackson continues to perform as a musician around the world with his band Jonathan Jackson + Enation, plus several tours with cast members from Nashville, and is also an accomplished writer penning the theological prose, The Mystery of Art.

So, are you excited for Jonathan Jackson’s long-awaited return as Lucky Spencer? Comment below.

Bryan Craig Returning to General Hospital as Morgan Corinthos

It looks like the teases Bryan Craig was dropping on social media were true, sort of.  According to TV Line, Craig is returning to the ABC daytime drama series to reprise his two-time Daytime Emmy-winning role as Morgan Corinthos.

However, it looks for now as if Craig is returning just for one episode. Circle August 1st for when he reappears on the long-running soap opera.

Now, it remains unclear if Morgan will come back as a ghost or vision from beyond, or if it will turn out that he is alive and well after everyone believed he was killed when a bomb meant for Julian Jerome blew up the car he was in. That incident took Craig off the show was back in 2016.

Photo: ABC

Speculation was high that Bryan could be the actor, GH EP Frank Valentini was referring to when he dropped the bombshell in an interview at the 51st annual Daytime Emmys that “a former cast member is coming back…and I think the audience will go crazy for HIM.”

Photo: BCraigIG

Craig continued to fuel the fire that he was on his way back to GH with a Father’s Day with himself and GH on-screen dad, Maurice Benard (Sonny), and then an image on his Instagram which looked like the GH set.

Photo: JPI

The actor began his TV career in 2013 when he took on the role of Sonny and Carly’s (Laura Wright son. After departing General Hospital three years later, Craig was cast on ABC’s Grand Hotel, and most recently appeared on Freeform’s Good Trouble, plus several independent motion pictures.

Now the question becomes is Bryan Craig’s one-day appearance who Valentini was referring to, or is there another male actor from the past still on their way back to Port Charles? Comment below.
