Meghan McCain Exiting ‘The View’

Courtesy/ABC

UPDATED: In a major shake-up at the table again for ABC’s morning ladies talkfest, The View, comes word that Meghan McCain will be leaving the series.

McCain had been on the series for nearly four years.  She is scheduled to announce the move on today’s episode of The View.

According to Deadline, McCain will be taking an extended hiatus that has the potential to become a permanent exit.

Meghan is always at an epicenter of opposing remarks at the table as the co-host panels conservative; something she inherited after the exit of Elisabeth Hasselbeck who had a ten-year run on the show from 2003-2013.

Share your thoughts on McCain’s departure in the comment section. But first, check out Meghan’s announcement on her exit on today’s episode of The View below.

Bring back Jebidiah A bila
Major mistake letting her go for Megan
Jeb is capable of expressing her unpopular opinion with the panel in a cool and calm manor while Megan has tantrums and hissy fits which although makes for great shock value becomes tiresome!
Get Jeb who just ditched Fox for muzzling her and plead and beg for her to come back
Imo Sarahs fine but I’d rather have the other republican who does Fridays ( forgot name) to be fulltime too!

I politically do not agree with Jeb but she is someone I can respect to express her opinions, and better help me understand the other side of political issues from which I lean. Ana brings humor and straight talk. She grew up in Nicaragua, so provides a very interesting perspective. Maybe The View can establish the two of them as the 5th host, every other week, and then also be available to fill in when another host has a last minute absence or previously scheduled days off. I enjoy both Jeb and Ana. And they both have the ability to speak their minds without being condescending, entitled, and basically a spoiled rich bitch, like Meghan, because her last name is McCain. Meghan’s trashing of the Biden Administration reveals how she is being further brainwashed by her husband, Ben. I think her father is rolling over in his grave, and she just needs to shut up and leave. Probably a reaction he is having towards Lindsey as well…

Bye Felicia!

And now we do not need to see all the bizarre and very distracting hairstyles for a tv talk show of intelligent women speaking their “views”.

I think Sarah brings such a balance and gives hope to hard situations. Anna Navarro and Jeb are both good choices too.

No way to Jebidiah Bila! She is on Fox (???!@#).

Was on fox
They let her go
Apparently she was being too outspoken against the typical Fox repitive Trump lovefest script

It was about damn time. She was a stain on The View, and not the right person for the position she holds. Her behaviour is that of a child in an adult-sized body. And while her predecessor, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, was problematic, she at least wasn’t as jarring as McCain has been. Not to mention, Hasselbeck’s mother never had to speak out about her behaviour on the panel.

What Disney-ABC needs to do is give Ana Navarro-Cárdenas a full-time deal with the talk show, or, if she does not want it, try and lure Jedediah Bila back to the panel. She had wonderful chemistry with Joy Behar, Sara Haines, Sonny Hostin & Whoopi Goldberg, and I do believe she and Navarro-Cárdenas could do well together.

I might [finally] be able to tune back into this talk show for the first time in YEARS!

Can’t really work up any enthusiasm for these panel talk shows. Don’t really care at all. They replaced the time slots for our soaps and I’ll never support them in any fashion.

Amen!

I agree with you, Rodd.

I always have enjoyed hearing Meagan’s views. I will miss her on the show.

Finally. She was rude, dismissive, condescending and entitled. I don’t care about her politics, but I stopped watching because of her treatment of others. Maybe I’ll be able to watch it again. . .

I completely agree.
When she didn’t agree with someone, she was do disrespectful and called people names.
She was always having temper tantrums and was so rude. She doesn’t know how to have a conversation with some one and disagree.
She is very unprofessional.

yes!

“She was rude, dismissive, condescending and entitled.” CONGRATULATIONS! You have perfectly described Joy Behar

It’s about time!

Preface: I was a fan of Megan McCain for a long while since her Dad ran for the presidency and liked her on The View for the first couple of years but she’s got issues… major issues. I try to understand her POV however, it’s so much more enjoyable to watch the show when Ana Navarro is filling in or on during her regular Friday shows. Megan has definitely changed to an angry and un-enjoyable cohost. And I’ve been done with her for the past few months- she’s so angry at a Biden administration yet she was so close to President Biden and his family including, her Dad, the late Senator John McCain and her family. Joe was really there for Megan and her family after John’s passing. Now every moment she has, she attacks the Biden administration and Cindy McCain has recently received an offer to be on the cabinet- I think it has something to do with helping hunger globally. When Cindy pops up on the View she’s lovely and mature and respectful- whereas her daughter used to be fun spirited and sometimes interesting to listen to but not now!

Lately, she looks checked out and looks like she doesn’t want to be there anymore. Her “reason” to leave kinda based on her now living in DC is a bit strange because I don’t think the others want to return to the New York studio anytime soon. It’s only a few months until September and Sarah is the only one at studio. Unless, the show is hoping the other ladies will consider filming in the studio come September when the show I believe will turn 25. So, if that’s the case, I can see maybe why Megan doesn’t want to commute to NYC- but she ousted her friend Abby Huntsman and became the only republican on the show full time. Then they brought Ana on for Friday’s or to cover Megan during her maternity leave. Apparently, Megan wanted a longer maternity leave. She looks miserable on the show and awkward often. I think ABC knows fans of The View don’t like her immaturity at times and disrespectful ways, and there’s that change.org petition that has gained a lot of traction.
Bye bye Megan. Hello Ana?

Yes, she’s abrasive and often impolite and cynical. But her voice was much easier to absorb than Elisabeth Hasselbeck, who was simply obnoxious. I enjoyed hearing stories about Megan’s life in politics and, of course, about John McCain — a gentleman and true American the likes of which we just don’t see much anymore. Hopefully, Ana Navarro will fill in more.

Nah….Ana Navarro isn’t going to get that slot. Unless she bleaches her hair. They always have had one blonde Republican in that chair. It must be in the contract or something. As much as I hate to even verbalize such a thing, I suspect that Trump shill Kaylee Mc A-ninny (or however you spell the obnoxious twit’s name) is going to get the job. And she’ll make you nostalgic for Hasselbeck…. let alone Meghan.

Not that I ever watch The View, but it’s a great tool to torment the damned down here.

I may not align politically with McCain — and I do admire her late father, but (1) she is constantly outnumbered and thus ganged up on; and (2) moderator Whoopi Goldberg constantly cuts her off and abruptly goes to commercial anytime McCain says something Goldberg doesn’t like, as though Goldberg’s position is all that matters. So it’s a tough gig…

Well, Jamesj75, after all this time, we finally DISAGREE about something. As the “moderator” in my book club, I feel empathy for Whoopi’s position. It’s TOUGH trying to keep people on topic in any situation, let alone on live T.V. while some producer is probably constantly reminding her to “go to break. NOW!” Kind of a thankless task at times. In fact, I think Meghan was given too much latitude when she began talking louder and more rudely when she felt challenged. But I respect her views. It’s when we CAN’T express different opinions that I start to worry. On another topic, thanks for a recent post of yours about some of your posts not making it to site. I thought it was just me (usually when I compared an actor’s performance to a junior high drama club tryout). Always love reading your posts, especially about classic shows like DYNASTY and KNOTS LANDING. Cheers!

Hey Soaphound! So great to hear from you! And it’s quite alright to disagree at
times, isn’t it? I knew I was going against the grain here, a role I don’t mind on occasion. I often agree with what Goldberg says, I just think she’s too dismissive of different opinions (IMHO). I do understand the points you’re making about the moderator position, and your points are well taken.

I always like reading your posts, too, so thank you for that, Friend! It’s very rare that something is not deemed acceptable. But in the post where I lamented (to Steve, I think) that one of my posts wasn’t published (a brief negative comment on a certain “star” of a certain “medical facility” show), I was still able to make my point — and get my digs in — within that particular discussion. So it all worked out.

One last thought: speaking of Dynasty (the 80s series), Fairman had a couple of features on an upcoming Zoom chat with many Dynasty stars. I was fully expecting a follow-up feature after the event, but he didn’t write one. I don’t know whether you participated, but I was blown away by the event and glad I bought a ticket. There were so many stars, including a brief appearance by Linda Evans and a pre-taped segment by Joan Collins. The actors were all so charming, respectful, and down to earth. That show was so important to me during its run, as was that certain “medical facility” show for quite a long time… Take care.

Good,its about TIME!

I’m thrilled with her departure. Until she matures and can control her emotions, she does not belong on a show like The View. She is far too quick to emit a condescending tone and her need to constantly prove that she is friends with virtually everyone is borderline pathetic. She’s bright and well informed, but until she can control her temper, she needs to lay low for awhile. I’d like to see another younger woman (28-35) on the panel who can represent the younger perspective.

I always enjoyed hearing her view. So refreshing compared to all the others.

Hallelujah!!!

Who really cares? Please cancel The View!

I’m glad she’s leaving. Just didn’t like her attitude, “communication” skills, and the scowl she always seemed to have on her face. She is surely is not Cindy, or John McCain.

When I heard that someone was leaving The View I prayed that it would be Joy Behar. Instead it is Megan. This goes to prove that prayers are not answered.

Ana Navarro is not getting the gig. First of all she lives in Miami full-time with her husband. She would have to move to NYC to take it. Plus she’s too much in agreement with the ladies as she shares too liberal views with them. They need someone who can present a very different view. As much as MM is hated by viewers she brought ratings to big highs. When the View had everyone with the same View the numbers plunged. Honestly I think Jeddediah Bila is perfect. She has built in chemistry with those four ladies and I loved how she broke down an issue and presented it on the other side. She was fun and totally respectful. She just left Fox news so she is completely available. Bring back Jed.

They need a black or latina conservative on the show and a a straight down the middle independent. The show needs more balance and they need to let each one of them moderate. That would make them try to be fair to everybody.

While Adam Sharp shared, “Lidia Bastianich’s astounding success combines her love of cooking while simultaneously entertaining millions each day. It is an honor for us to say ‘grazie’ for the many fine meals borne from her TV kitchen and cookbook pages.”

“Daytime television invites viewers into the private lives of characters, often bringing important issues like cancer screenings into living rooms and around water coolers. Soaps debuted the first cancer storyline in 1962 – years before the topic was discussed in the mainstream, and it left an indelible impact: a whole generation of women who scheduled a potentially life-saving Pap smear for the first time,” said Daytime Stands Up host Alan Locher. “For so many viewers, this brought the issue front and center,” added co-host Michael Fairman. “Today, it’s become almost impossible to avoid; but there is hope with cancer research, thanks to organizations like Stand Up To Cancer.”

SU2C Co-Founder Sue Schwartz, SU2C President and CEO Julian Adams, Ph.D., and SU2C Health Equity Committee Member Elizabeth Jaffee, M.D., will also participate to speak to the importance of early detection, exciting scientific breakthroughs, and the ongoing work yet to be done to make screenings and treatment equitable for all.

“This year, an estimated 2 million people in the U.S. will be diagnosed with cancer, presenting an opportunity for the public to stand with us and rise to the occasion,” said Adams. “We’re thankful to Alan Locher, Michael Fairman and our friends from the daytime television community, who will raise critical funding to honor those we’ve lost – and to propel new scientific breakthroughs for current and future patients. Everyone has a story, and we’re grateful to all of you for sharing yours.”

For over 15 years, SU2C has leveraged its relationship with the entertainment community – which includes more than 1,100 celebrity ambassadors – to generate public donations, increase awareness and fund cutting-edge cancer research. SU2C research has contributed to the development of more than 10 scientific breakthroughs that have significantly impacted the field and provided new treatment options for breast, colorectal, lung, melanoma, pancreatic, pediatric and prostate cancers.

Haley Pullos Receives 90-Day Jail Sentence Following DUI Charge And Wrong-Way Car Crash

Former General Hospital actress, Haley Pullos (ex-Molly Lansing-Davis) is going to be doing time in jail, exactly one-year after her arrest from a hit and run wrong-way car collision.

The crash resulted in bodily harm and damages to the other driver, and now Pullos who pleaded “no contest” to the charges and will serve 90 days in jail. She was taken in custody on Monday, April 29th, after the ruling.

According to Haley’s attorney, Mark Daniel Melnick, the 25-year-old actress struck a plea deal and after her three months in jail will be sentenced on July 29th. As part of that sentencing, she must serve five years probation, 200 hours of community service and pay $8,260 in restitution to Courteney Wilder, the other driver in the crash and her driver’s license is revoked for a year.

According to TMZ, the plea deal for Pullos has the “no contest” to one DUI, while the judge dropped the felony DUI causing bodily injury and misdemeanor hit and run charges.

Melnick said in a statement to PEOPLE, “Haley is very grateful to the court for a minimum sentence and for recognizing her remorse and the strides she has made in her sobriety.”

Pullos had played the daughter of Alexis Davis (played by Nancy Lee Grahn) on the ABC soap opera since 2009, but after her car crash and DUI she was replaced by three different actresses until the show finally settled on the current Molly, Kristen Vaganos.

Back in April 29 of 2023, and at the scene of the crash, the police found edibles and mini-bottles of tequila in Pullos’ vehicle and that she was intoxicated. As it turned out, this was to be the second hit and run in the evening for Pullos who had an earlier collision with another car.

The courts decision follows a year-long legal battle with Haley’s pleas changing throughout it, ranging from “not guilty” to “no contest”. She sought treatment for her drinking at a rehab following the crash.

Nancy Lee Grahn, who portrayed Pullos’ on-screen mom took to X on Monday night, April 29th and shared on the sentence and the specific jail, Haley will be serving time: “As Haley’s TV mom I can tell some truths about her as I’ve loved her since she was little girl. She made a HUGE mistake, knows it, owns it & has spent the last yr doing EVERYTHING imaginable to take responsibility 4 it. It’s not that I oppose jail. It’s that I oppose this jail.” The jail in question by Grahn is the L.A. county jail.

So, what do you think about Haley Pullos serving a 90-days jail sentence, and the other rulings that will be part of her sentencing? Comment below.
