GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jake Is Not Ready to Welcome Back Jason with Open Arms

Courtesy/ABC

On the Monday, April 1st episode of General Hospital, Jason (Steve Burton) shows up at Elizabeth’s (Rebecca Herbst) house to thank her for being present at his arraignment. In true Jason fashion, he is sorry he did not come by sooner. Liz indicates that now is actually better timing than previously.

First, Jason acknowledges how Epiphany would be so proud, now that Liz is head nurse of GH. At that point, Jake (Hudson West) comes down the staircase ans is not happy at all to see his father standing there.

Then, the series finally leans into some of the unresolved issues facing this father and son.  Jake asks where Jason he had been; citing he did not bother to send any emails or try to call him or the family. Jason says he had to take a job he didn’t want and he swears to his son that he could not get in contact with him for many reasons. He asks Jake to please believe him.

Jason truly wants to spend time with Jake, but Jake says he can’t trust his father; especially since he has no idea how long he will be in town. At that point, Jake points out that Jason didn’t come back for him, and he is in front of him now and he still won’t explain anything to him. Liz chimes in that she understands Jake’s point of view, but she is very happy to see Jason is alive.

After Jason leaves, Liz sits down with Jake so the young man can air out his feelings about Jason. Jake gets angry with her for not coming down harder on Jason. Jake asks if she knew all along where Jason was and covered it up and lied to him. She swears to Jake she had no idea Jason was alive.

At the end of the scene, Jake says he feels guilty.  In Jake’s mind, he feels it was better when Jason was believed “dead” than him being alive and committing crimes. To try to build a bridge, Liz swears to Jake that Jason truly cares for him even if he doesn’t say it much.  She promises that in the future Jake will see that Jason will keep showing up for him.

What did you think of the scenes between Hudson West, Rebecca Herbst and Steve Burton? Will Jake come around and find common ground with Jason?

As long as Jason keeps showing up for Jake, Jake will believe it. The problem is, Jason hasn’t ever done that in the past. Carly, Sonny, and Michael have always been first. No man should choose another person over his own kids. It’s wrong. Jason has a lot to make up for. I do love that Elizabeth’s faith in Jason is still as much front and center as it has always been. She knew immediately that he was different. they have always had this amazing bond. I want this show to finally write for this amazing couple. They have been star-crossed for 25 years. Even when Jason came back the last time, Danny got all the attention and it seems the same this time around. Jason needs to dedicate time with Jake cause this is his last chance I am afraid. The problem is, once it’s revealed that Jason went away to save Carly, I don’t think his son is going to be so understanding.

I take back what I said. Jason Morgan is the biggest piece of crap on the face of the Earth. I hope Jake hates him forever. I cannot believe he chose Carly over his kids. They should have kept Jason dead.

I’m glad Jake let his dad know how he felt, it was nice for liz to be there for her son, and still let Jason know she was happy he’s alive, hope there’s more scenes w/this trio.

I’m not watching GH but I tell you Becky should be front and center she and Steve have chemistry but I do know that their are fans for Sam and Jason so yes I said nope and stepped out ! Good luck to all of you

If I was writing this Liz needs to tell Jason you are the father of my child but please leave us alone it’s over . You chose your life and unfortunately so did cry baby Lucky

Becky loves her kids and she can handle it but please give me just one scene where she tells Carly to go to hell do not pass go do not collect any money just leave me and my family alone

Hudson West is a talented young actor. He was fantastic is the scenes with Steve and Becky. It’s hard to believe he’s been on the show for about seven years now. I hope we get to see more of him in the years to come as Jake is part of the next generation.

I can see why Jake is upset. Like I figured, he is angry and hurt that his dad let him believe he was dead and feels like Jason abandoned him. And he isn’t wrong for feeling that way. Even Jason said he understands if he feels hurt and angry. I’m glad Elizabeth sat Jake down and told him Jason loves him and explained that his dad doesn’t make things up, he tells the truth, and he doesn’t lie. She also told him that Jason won’t give up on him and will keep showing up until Jake realizes he loves him. I just hope the writers give Jason and Jake a chance to rebuild their relationship.

Glad that this is becoming the Jason arc instead of a returning to the canvas Jason

There’s PLENTY of story Jason can have and I’m glad the writers are going down a route as to where is presence is needed more than his countless explanations of why he disappeared.

The storytelling of Jason’s return so far has been fruitful with endless potential if continued.

I don’t have much patience with Jake whom I’ve always liked, especially with Franco. This boy is old enough to understand where his Dad’s coming from, Danny does and he’s much younger. Jason tried to explain that he would have gotten in touch if he could have but it was impossible. Jake is being a little self-centered and immature.

The issue isn’t the situation Jason is in. It’s about the decisions & choices he’s made in life & it’s having a negative effect on his family. You can’t pop in and out of people’s lives and expect for them to welcome you back with open arms. That’s not how real life works.

At least his scene with Jake was emotional; you could feel Jason’s love for his son even though he didn’t move toward him physically. I didn’t get that with his reunion with Danny. There was literally no sense of feeling. I get that Jason was hurt and Danny just wanted to help his dad. But at SOME point there could have been a hug; a father and son moment since Danny wasn’t brimming with hostility like Jake is. Same with Liz. Liz was in love with Jason; she’ll always have a love for Jason. To see him alive after believing he was dead should have been portrayed with much more emotion. Everything feels flat to me other than Jason and Carly’s scene when she first saw him. Everyone else acts like he was just out of town for a while.

I blame the writers. They wrote the scenes to play out that way. It odd that no one seems happy that Jason is alive! And the fact that everyone except Carly, Michael and Joss was against him is out of character for Sam, Liz, Jake, and Sonny, etc. It has ruined Jason’s return.

I really want Jason and Jake to be close again and here’s some advice to the father and son pair start loving each other again and work it out for once because life’s to short.

Jason needs a legit HOUSE for his kids to come over.

They practically don’t know who he is

Jason chose to leave his children. Jason decided on his own that Carly was more important than his sons. Jason Morgan used to be my favorite. I loved and adored Liason. They had this sweet, blossoming friendship that grew into love. She saved him from death so many times, and yet Carly, the one that cheated on him and betrayed him time and time again, is what he chose to stick around. Out of misguided promise to Carly.

Jason Morgan was so desperate for his own child that he tried to raise Sonny’s daughter by taking in his mistress. Every wrong decision Jason has ever made comes back to Sonny and Carly. Jason literally gave up a life with his son, for them.

That entire danger danger story was the most ridiculous thing ever. Michael was shot. Carly banned Sonny from his room. Elizabeth got to watch Jason hold Carly’s hand while she was dumped and his child was pushed aside. That is NOT and never will be Jason Morgan. Jason Morgan would have loved his child.

This man that is walking around in Jason Morgan’s body is a pod person. Personally, I think when they were in Mexico, I think he was drugged and or brainwashed cause what came back was a transplant. He was POD Jason and he has been ever since. This show is going to meet it’s end really soon. They may have just recently resigned another deal, but mark my words, this shoving Jarly 24/7 down our throats will be the death of this show. Very few want to watch this incestuous relationship.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Kristina is Rocked By Sonny’s Behavior, Finn Teeters on the Edge as Gregory’s Condition Worsens

Monday’s May 20th episode of General Hospital brought with it emotional moments featuring excellent performances by Kate Mansi (Kristina), Maurice Benard (Sonny) and Michael Easton (Finn).

In the pick of Friday’s cliffhanger, Sonny goes postal on Dex (Evan Hofer) and Jason (Steve Burton), until he sees that Kristina heard and saw the whole thing. She runs into the bathroom, while Sonny goes after her.

Sonny is begging Kristina to let him explain. He goes on to say how Dex and Jason both turned on him, and to please not be afraid of him. But, all Kristina can do is cry as she begs Sonny not to touch her, and with that, he walks out.

Alone and frightened, and trying to calm herself down, Kristina phones Blaze (Jacqueline Grace Lopez) and tells her to come to the bathroom. Kristina is worried about her unborn baby, and cannot believe her father’s behavior.  It’s at that point, Kristina voices she feels like a fool because everyone was warning her about her father. She thought he had a code of ethics, but the man she saw threaten to kill Dex and Jason is nothing like that, leaving her bewildered and stunned.

Jason calls Carly (Laura Wright) and she comes running to the Metro Court to find Sonny, while Jason follows her, but remains sight unseen. Carly finds Sonny at the pool area. Sonny says he thinks no one loves him anymore. Carly says Kristina just needs some time. Carly tells Sonny to not act like that again, but Sonny says he can’t promise that.

Following Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) and Chase’s (Josh Swickard) wedding, Gregory, Finn and Violet (Jophielle Love) come home.  When Violet  goes to bed, it leaves father and son to have some very heavy moments given Gregory’s battle with ALS. Finn tells his dad that he appreciates the time they have together now after years of being apart. Gregory tells Finn he is proud of him, which brings the good doctor to tears.

After Finn helps Gregory get ready for bed, he leaves and calls Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn). Finn admits he threw away 7 years of sobriety by somehow taking a sip of champagne at the wedding reception. Alexis wonders if subconsciously he wanted the drink but says that doesn’t mean he failed.

At the end of episode, Gregory is in bed, and has flashes of his own life from a child till now, and of his children, Finn and Chase. He finally closes his eyes. Will Gregory not wake up sending Finn on a complete downward spiral? Stay tuned!

GENERAL HOSPITAL Preview: Alexis , Finn, and Kristina Face Life-Altering Moments

This week on ABC’s General Hospital could bring a shift in the lives of several lives in Port Charles. In the latest promo for the daytime drama series, Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) is seen in court facing her accuser, the brother of her former lover, the late Neil Byrne, in the form of Lane Davies as Fergus Byrne.

Will Alexis finally be reinstated as a lawyer? Will Fergus and Alexis actually hit it off since Lane and Nancy Lee Grahn played the beloved Mason and Julia Capwell on Santa Barbara, and Davies was previously on GH as Dr. Cameron Lewis?

Meanwhile, a pregnant Kristina (Kate Mansi) is reeling after seeing her father, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) lose his grip and threatening to kill Jason (Steve Burton) and Dex (Evan Hofer). Will her unborn baby be in danger?

Photo: ABC

Finally, Finn’s (Michael Easton) sobriety is really tested and it all seems to be inadvertently caused by the Cerullos. First, at the wedding reception of Brook Lynn and Chase, Carmine hands Finn a glass of champagne after his daughter Violet’s performance. Not paying attention, he takes a sip of champagne during a toast.

Now, Carmine and Gloria send a bottle of bourbon to Finn with their “warmest regards.” However, Finn can’t stop himself from pouring himself a drink.  Will Finn finally give in, and we are off to the races with another addiction storyline for the good doctor? Stay tuned.

Check out the latest GH preview below.

Now, let us know. What do you think will happen with Finn, Alexis and Kristina on this week’s GH? Share your theories in the comment section.
