B&B Joins Forces with United Friends of the Children for Special Episodes Next Week!

Three-time consecutive Daytime Emmy Award-winning, The Bold and the Beautiful, adds another page to their history book of bringing public awareness to serious social issues as they join forces with United Friends of the Children (UFC) for two very special episodes to air on Tuesday, December 13 and Wednesday, December 14, 2011.

“Through our partnership with UFC, we are able to alert our viewers to the predicament facing our nation’s young adults who have aged out of the foster care system”, says B&B’s Executive Producer and Head Writer, Bradley P. Bell. “It is also another step in the journey of the character of ‘Stephanie Forrester’ to continue to keep her promise to help those less fortunate than herself.”

In these stand-alone episodes, Beverly Hills socialite and matriarch of one of the country’s most successful fashion houses, “Stephanie Forrester” (portrayed by multi-Daytime Emmy Award-winner Susan Flannery), along with “Hope Logan” (portrayed by Kim Matula), follows former foster child, “Beverly” (portrayed by Gina Rodriguez), and “Dayzee Leigh” (portrayed by Kristolyn Lloyd) to the transitional living facility that “Beverly” has been living in ever since she aged out of California’s foster care system.  At this home, known as “Pathways”, Stephanie and Hope meet with real-life residents of the facility and listen to stories about how they have been coping with life after foster care with the assistance of United Friends of the Children. The United Friends of the Children is a nonprofit organization dedicated to bettering the lives of foster children and supporting former foster youth in their journey to become successful and independent adults. Through their programs, advocacy efforts, and direct involvement with youth, United Friends of the Children seeks to be a catalyst for change.

I am sorry but Brad Bell is all over the map this show is so out there. We do stupid campy storylines and then throw in infomercials! And if they do have the Emmys and he gets another one I will know they are all nuts!

This will not happen if Steffy succeeds in sabotaging the gondola Hope and Stephanie need to ride to the transitional living facility.

And when all is said and done, can everyone turn off the good will and get back to the endless family bickering and near incest?

It really could be different and a truly winning serial.

I think it is very admirable that Brad Bell & Company will highlight an issue not many people are aware of. I will be watching these episodes and if they live up to the billing of their last couple of Emmy winning reels that they end up submitting, do not be surprised if they’re in the hunt for another Outstanding Drama Series Emmy. Will they get it again next year? That all depends on what the other shows who end up being nominated submit for Emmy consideration. I watched Y&R all year and they don’t have a leg to stand on as this show was one HOT mess all year and not in a good way either. OLTL had BETTER be nominated. This is their second to last year in being eligible for Emmy consideration. We can easily forget AMC. GH MIGHT be in the running but the one show that I’d like to see rake in a lot of Emmy’s next summer is Days of our Lives. Ever since they did the reboot, they have been firing on all cylinders and I see Emmy gold for them next year! Any other thoughts on this?

Here we go again with the emmy baiting shows. Brad Bell really truly knows how to manipulate and deceive this terrible flawed system better than anyone. It’s so obvious and clear what goes through his mind with these social issues. Just slap together his annual PSA episode and submit that one single reel and get unfairly undeservingly rewarded when the rest of the year is the most boring recycled sleaze on the air. It’s a complete and total joke that best drama series isn’t based and judged on the full year. B&B would never get a nomination or a win if you looked at the body of work over the course of the last 12 months. All of the soaps have better reels to submit from 2011 and at least those episodes were apart real legit storylines that lasted longer than a few days. Brad Bell winning yet again for his one day infomercials has made the daytime emmy awards a millon times worse. The homeless thing and now this foster care thing is emmy baiting at it’s worst. Both of these so called storylines came out of nowhere. It’s nothing more than a cheap lazy way to have a episode reel to suck in voters.

Days of Our Lives has always been treated as the step child. For some reason voters treat this show like dirt, when I use to watch it and I am going to start again, their actors etc. were always snubbed. I am sorry but I still don’t get B&B it is crazy then you throw a social issue at us strictly for an emmy it turns me off. But that is just my opinion.

Yawnsville. Enough is enough. I just want my regular B&B and not these PSAs.

Maurice Benard Confirms Steve Burton is Upcoming Guest on ‘State of Mind’

Over this past weekend, General Hospital’s Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos) revealed that he is finally going to have longtime co-star, Steve Burton (Jason Morgan) on his State of Mind You Tube series for a sit-down interview.

While speaking with Soap Opera Digest at Nancy Lee Grahn’s (Alexis, GH) ALS fundraiser, Maurice confirmed the taping is happening this week and should be posted in about three weeks time.

Benard shared, “I wanted Steve Burton and I’m shooting him Tuesday, my good friend, but he’s been through a lot and I’ve been asking for three years, but he’s finally going to do it.”

In addition, to the episode, it appears Maurice also confirmed he will be doing a You Tube live on Tuesday, May 7th as well at 3 pm PT possibly with Burton.

As GH viewers know, for year Jason was Sonny’s henchman, and his right hand. Now upon Jason’s return, the two are at complete odds, due in part to Sonny’s medication being completely manipulated by Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) and his growing paranoia.

As for what Burton will discuss, as Benard teased Steve has gone through a lot of personal ups and downs as well as professional, over the last three or more years, but has always landed on his feet. It will be interesting to hear this thoughts on those matters and how he soldiered through.

So, excited to see Maurice and Steve have a serious chat on State of Mind? Comment below.

Tom Selleck Continues to Think ‘CBS Will Come to Their Senses’ Following Cancellation of ‘Blue Bloods’

The Young and the Restless alum, Tom Selleck (ex-Jed Andrews), who has starred on CBS’ police procedural Blue Bloods for 14 seasons, is speaking out on the decision by the network to cancel the show.

During an interview with CBS Sunday Morning Selleck expressed his thoughts on if the show might get a last minute reprieve as Shemar Moore’s (ex-Malcolm, Y&R) S.W.A.T. has.

Tom shared,”I will continue to think that CBS will come to their senses. We’re the third-highest scripted show in all of broadcast. We’re winning the night. All the cast wants to come back. And I can tell you this: we aren’t sliding off down a cliff. We’re doing good shows, and still holding our place. So, I don’t know. You tell me!”

Selleck has been with Blue Bloods since its inception and its premiere in 2010, in the role of Commissioner Frank Reagan.

Aware that the cast has asked CBS to reconsider its position, CBS Entertainment President, Amy Reisenbach said, “We love this cast, we love their passion for the show. All shows have to come to an end. It’s important to us to refresh the schedule. We are going to end the show come December.”

Blue Blood also stars Donnie Wahlberg, Bridget Moynahan, Will Estes, and Len Cariou. Selleck is pictured above with former Y&R stars, Deidre Hall (now Marlena, Days of our Lives) and Jaime Lyn Bauer (ex-Lorie).
