Former DAYS Stars Chandler Massey, Casey Deidrick & Their Band "And Still I Rise" Cover Miley Cyrus "Wrecking Ball"!

So what have Chandler Massey (Ex-Will) and Casey Deidrick (Ex-Casey) been doing since they both departed Days of our Lives?  Well, partly they are making music and a new music video with their band, And Still I Rise!  And today, the band has released a music video of their cover of Miley Cyrus top hit, “Wrecking Ball”!

Now, And Still I Rise version of the Miley tune is quite different than the original … think the sound of rock band Linkin Park with a more heavy metal twist!

The band consists of:  Casey Deidrick (Vocals), Chandler Massey (Keyboards/Vocals), Stephen Haynes (Guitar/Vocals), Michael Gross (Guitar/Vocals) and Josh Bonaparte (Bass/Vocals).

In the newly released music video it seems like a night of pseudo-frat boy fun, complete with liquor and a bong, goes awry when a ghost joins the party!  However, take a listen as you watch the video down to the great vocals of Chandler Massey and Michael Gross!

Now, watch “Wrecking Ball” with the guys after the jump! Then, let us know what you thought of the bands sound, seeing Chandler and Casey again, the video contents, and if you like And I Still Rise version of the tune better than Ms. Miley’s?

Loved it.

love the guys and miss them from days of our lives but hate this song wished they would get out of this kind of music

I thought the guys did a great job on the song and the video was hilarious.

I really liked that, the song and the video. I would definitely like to hear and see more of them!

Loved it!

It is sad to see these guys collect money through Kickstarter to produce ridiculously poor music videos like the last 2 I have seen. They are awful in my opinion.

I sincerely hope the other guys follow Chandler Massey’s lead and enroll / or return to college for an education and an earnest future.

What a shame and a waste of time and resources.

Wow you sound miserable, Go have your cereal. Maybe you will feel better. This was fun to watch, I hope they do, more stuff together.

Different strokes for different folks, I agree with you Libby.

Chandler has an awesome voice. Would love to hear more of him.

Awesome incredible talents

That stuff is dope, like Casey would say and the lyrics fit perfectly! 🙂

Thank you Michael for being so supportive of what they do!

Libby, for the cover of Miley Cyrus’ song, they didn’t collect money through Kickstarter. They did that for the song “65 Roses” and it was to raise awareness for the devastating effects that Cystic Fibrosis (CF) has on people that suffer from it. The music is metal and probably not your type of music but it was certainly not a ridiculously poor music video! The acting was to show a person with CF, struggling to stay alive and I think it was ridiculously WELL DONE! Matter of taste I guess.

The “Wrecking Ball” song was hilarious and it seems like the guys had good fun making it and why not! And I think there is more to that song/clip, than you probably care to know.

Wrecking Ball is good fun but what’s with the “ghost” symbolically I guess for something the group conquered? Or someone. Like to know if you do. All big fans here.

I think the “ghost” conquered one of the band’s members. Symbolically and literally..

Chandler is a good singer, i also loved the video. great work guys.

me encantooooooooooo
y mas Chandler

I am far from a metal fan but AISR is really doing a great job. Yea I listened because of Chandler and Casey. They made a video that is a riot. Absolutely is a frat party. And really after seeing that skank Miley doing Wrecking Ball. These guys totally improved on the song.

silly fun!!!

True, we all have different tastes. I am familiar with CF. We had a member of my extended family pass away from the disease at age 18. It was tragic. I still think that there are much better ways to bring awareness for CF – especially with $30k. Chandler Massey is a multi talented individual. I know very little of the other members of the group. These are young guys with potential and hope they all pursue worthwhile endeavors.

This version…WAY better than anything Miley Cyrus could have done! I am a rock/metal fan, and this ASIR version makes me like the song; the bands’, not MC’s version. Casey and Chandler are doing a rockin job with their band, and I cant wait to see what else they release. I cannot stop listening to “Sixty Five Roses”, and their video for that song is bitchin’! And Still I Rise is one of my new fave bands, and I think Chandler has a great voice! Casey is rockin it too! Way to go guys! Congrats, and keep on ROCKING!

I would like to hear them sing a more conservative song – one without such background noise because the voices sound nice, but background noise took away from the song. As for the video, it was not my cup of tea, but I don’t begrudge others who enjoyed it. Do a different song/video so I can enjoy the voices.

Not a fan of the drug use in this video, at all. Major turnoff.

I agree didn’t like that.

OMG, that was hilarious!! BAHAHAHA, good video guys!

I was so disappointed when days of our lives lost chad and will. I thought you guys were (are) mega talented actors. Although I enjoyed your music, I’ll be watching for your return to the screen.

Love it and i really miss both of you on days of our lives please come back. Dont like the new chad and will.

I think they did great!!!! I wanna hear more from them, the did amazing on the cover! I bought all their music Like Sixty Five Roses or the Orchard Road EP, I want hear from these guys!!!

“Daytime television invites viewers into the private lives of characters, often bringing important issues like cancer screenings into living rooms and around water coolers. Soaps debuted the first cancer storyline in 1962 – years before the topic was discussed in the mainstream, and it left an indelible impact: a whole generation of women who scheduled a potentially life-saving Pap smear for the first time,” said Daytime Stands Up host Alan Locher. “For so many viewers, this brought the issue front and center,” added co-host Michael Fairman. “Today, it’s become almost impossible to avoid; but there is hope with cancer research, thanks to organizations like Stand Up To Cancer.”

SU2C Co-Founder Sue Schwartz, SU2C President and CEO Julian Adams, Ph.D., and SU2C Health Equity Committee Member Elizabeth Jaffee, M.D., will also participate to speak to the importance of early detection, exciting scientific breakthroughs, and the ongoing work yet to be done to make screenings and treatment equitable for all.

“This year, an estimated 2 million people in the U.S. will be diagnosed with cancer, presenting an opportunity for the public to stand with us and rise to the occasion,” said Adams. “We’re thankful to Alan Locher, Michael Fairman and our friends from the daytime television community, who will raise critical funding to honor those we’ve lost – and to propel new scientific breakthroughs for current and future patients. Everyone has a story, and we’re grateful to all of you for sharing yours.”

For over 15 years, SU2C has leveraged its relationship with the entertainment community – which includes more than 1,100 celebrity ambassadors – to generate public donations, increase awareness and fund cutting-edge cancer research. SU2C research has contributed to the development of more than 10 scientific breakthroughs that have significantly impacted the field and provided new treatment options for breast, colorectal, lung, melanoma, pancreatic, pediatric and prostate cancers.
