Y&R's Kristoff St. John Posts Message On Facebook On Backstage Drama "War Zone"! Stresses "We Want This To End As Much As The Fans Do!"

Daytime Emmy winner Kristoff St. John (Neil Winters) of The Young and the Restless continued to share this sentiments on the social media outrage that has hit the series with a new lengthy post and commentary on his Facebook page.

The outrage has occurred since the dismissal of Michael Muhney(Adam Newman) from the number one soap opera, and the information that came to light that one of the reasons for his axing had been his groping of his co-star, Hunter King’s (Summer)breasts.  But as has been made public by other Y&R cast members, Muhney had apparently been problematic on the set getting into heated arguments, etc, that also were a main part of his axing.   It also seems the backstage firing of Muhney and the circumstances that led to it have become something some people want to see play out before a judge and jury.

Outspoken St. John first took to Twitter a few days ago asking for Muhney to come forward to help stop the fan backlash om the cast, that is something that has not been seen in quite this way before, and to tell his side of the story.  The fan backlash has been filled with hateful comments to both King and Muhney,  the cast, and the show executive producer, Jill Farren Phelps, to name a few.

Now on Facebook,  St. John appealed to the audience of the show stressing on all the backstage drama, “We want this to end as much as the fans do!”   But simply adding, we are now all in a “War Zone”.    Below are just a few key excerpts from the post!

Kristoff:  “What does anyone on the periphery of this whole episode really know? We are a company who have worked closely together for many, many years. Some, as in Jeanne Coopers case, may she rest in peace, for 40 long years, since the inception of the show in 1973. Eric Braeden has served 34 years at his post, Doug Davidson 36 years, Melody Thomas Scott 35 years, Jerry Douglas 33 years, and many other cast and crew members who have committed and dedicated MOST of their lives to bring a complex, colorful story to life every day, 52 weeks a year, for 40 years. This is a HUGE chunk of our lives. We know each other, our families, and the show intimately. We have struggled through the good and the bad, professionally, and personally. I cannot speak for those that I have just mentioned, but I imagine the feelings are similar, and run deep. To think that these professional, honest, hard working people are trying to deceive, cover up, misguide or misdirect the public in ANY way is blasphemous, and simply not true.”

He later added: “The implosion at Y and R, has caused fans to seek an even bigger explosion, one that is unwarranted, and without real merit, based on what little information has been given or leaked. Because of this soap opera behind the scenes hysteria, we are now ALL in a WAR ZONE. Can you blame the actors when under fire and being attacked, for putting on flak jackets, arming themselves with the only weapons available, (social media) and firing SOMETHING, anything back? The problem here is that we have very little artillery. Our hands are tied, beyond belief. Beyond our control. WE WANT THIS TO END AS MUCH AS THE FANS DO. But I’ll be damned if I allow a FEW OF THE MANY THAT HAVE HELPED TO CONSTRUCT THE HOUSE THAT WILLIAM BELL SR. built, along with his precious wife LEE PHILLIP BELL, with THIER own hands, from the ground up, to BULLY ME, SCARE ME OR MY FAMILY, AND IMPEDE MY PROGRESS IN THIS ONLY LIFE THAT I/WE HAVE. I have worked for 40 years in this Hollywood machine and have never witnessed such senseless, misdirected anger and discontent. It reminds me more of a Shakespearean play, where misunderstanding and deceit are played out on stage by colorful characters with much charm, but with insidious intentions.”

So what do you think of Kristoff’s latest plea and comments on the difficult situation behind the scenes at Y&R? And asking for everyone to be understanding towards the cast without name-calling, bullying, and insinuating that they all had a hand in Muhney’s dismissal and are part of a cover-up? Comment below!

I think that if Sony or Jill or CBS came out and said, we’re handling things, etc. that would help. Even if they said, it’s an internal matter, blah blah blah, but to say nothing just flames the fire and the fire is outta control.

Meanwhile, I think the cast needs to stay off of Twitter, FB, etc.

This just shows how incompetent JFP is as an executive producer. She fired Michael, then the story of him allegedly groping Hunter King’s boobs came out, and has she made a public announcement? Has Sony or CBS? No. Why? All the higher-ups at these companies need to realize they are really traumatizing the families of King and Muhney, and the fans are getting fed up. Since last month there’s just been one new thing after the other, and I think it’s good MM and HK aren’t getting involved in all this twitter/facebook crap (the rest of the cast shouldn’t be either) but MM, in my opinion, is innocent until proven guilty, and as the EP of the show, JFP needs to do something productive for the show she’s on and clear the air on all accounts.

as more time passes… with no resolution… FROM Jill Farren Phelps… she is the executive producer… after all… is she not?

the further… division… between Fans and the Y&R production.. yields.. dissension.

we, fans, may very well be on the peripheral… outside the confines… and looking IN… so be it… it’s always been that way…

Fan introspective… online.. internet.. blogs… this IS OUR outlet. I commend.. FAN appeal

I am dissatisfied that fan discord… is left hanging… in limbo…

The troubled family… at CBS – Sony – Y&R has done nothing to assuage the goings on…

The actors… should have just all stayed out of this… this may very well be the downfall… of Y&R… the year 2013… is the year, no one will forget… or survive?

hard working… family… the cast deems… and it’s all so blasphemous.. to think otherwise… ??? what? you were all standing in the line of fire… and

“…the problem here is that we have very little artillery. Our hands are tied, beyond belief. Beyond our control. ”

and you spout… MM… please correct this…. ??? LOL… why not JFP

“… It reminds me more of a Shakespearean play, where misunderstanding and deceit are played out on stage by colorful characters with much charm, but with insidious intentions.” ”

by all accounts… on whom the game players… TPTB.. orchestrated? and/or your colorful way of laying out the who will bite first… and playa this mess… and/or one’s way of laying at one’s path… a tread on waylay and alleging that MM fire away and let the games begin.. and/or let the chips fall where they may…

Insidious: proceeding in a gradual, subtle way, but with harmful effects.

I agree with you on this: “… have never witnessed such senseless, misdirected anger and discontent. ”

the production… being what it is… and fan upheaval… won’t go away… discontent… with the moral fiber… and reputable transition… with new regime… is too disastrous

I am sooooo over this. Who cares about Michael Muhney . He is gone lets all move on

Michael Muhney has on;y been on this show for 4 yrs. he is a nobody. Please people come and go. Enough. Replace him and be done with it. I can’t stand his character these days anyway with them putting him with Chelsea and this Delia killing still going on. Enough please. Leave Hunter alone. She is a victim

Well said KSJ! Leave HK alone. MM done wrong and was let go. Now can we stop hearing about him . He wasn’t the best. I been watching for 31 yrs and there was far better talent like Victoria Rowell I wish was back so please al let it go

Jill Phelps is an incompetent manager. She has damaged or destroyed more shows than I can count.Only in television is failure rewarded.A Megan McTavish or a Jean Passanante (these are only two egregious examples) can drive one show into the toilet and they are hired on another one.The stupidity of network executives would result in firing in any other business.Don’t get me started about the execrable Brian Frons.Katie Couric is what in the movie business was called “box office poison”but continues to go from one failure to the next continuing to earn millions of dollars.Jeff Zucker decimated NBC and is now paid obscene money to destroy a cable network. The television industry continues to insult the audience.

BETRAYAL! REVENGE! SCANDAL! No, im not talking about primetime series…im talking about Y&Rs new spinoff…’Behind the Scenes,!!!(original title: The ‘Wicked & The Witch’…depends which side your on) and its so much better than the original…lol

The Victim & The Vixen or The Pretty & The Perv are other titles you can choose from depending on which side you believe…im not picking any sides(but…?)

LOL! Very funny, Jimh!

This is one HOT MESS!!

The new spinoff should be called “Aspen” because it’s all downhill.

Oh its a big mess that’ for sure but IA that the cast/crew shouldn’t be subjected to the brunt of it. I can understand why Michael didn’t give any further statements. He’s been fired from his job so what can else is he suppose to say after already making statements re: his part …. he took his share of the blame. I’m just hoping that he didn’t lose his job because of an untruth. If he indeed did sexually harass that young lady and groped her then he deserves what he got. I’m just sorry I as a fan had to privy to this. I don’t know who leaked this out but it isn’t a good look all around.

That is so true. We certainly did not need to know the details of the firing. However, am really sorry this is happening.

The more these a***s talk the more I’m inclined to believe Muhney was set up.

All KSJ is doing is increasing his FB views. He needs to stop.

Really. He needs to get over himself. Maybe if the writers can writer him a decent storyline he can stop over acting his role as a set prop for this play within a play.

“BULLY ME, SCARE ME OR MY FAMILY, AND IMPEDE MY PROGRESS IN THIS ONLY LIFE THAT I/WE HAVE” When did this become all about you Kristoff? Why do you keep posting? Are you that lacking in attention? This was the only life Michael had too. It isn’t about you believe me!!

I agree Sandy!! There’s always someone trying to get their 15 minutes, I just didn’t expect this from a soap star.

would like to see some positive for MM…lots of fans upset hes not on the show anymore, and lots of fans upset that the other actors are being rude to them. All shows need fans…just would like you to address this…thanks.

No positive here for Michael M. he is gone get over it. He is a easy replacement

You will eat crow over that assumption!!!

Adam Newman played by M.Muhney is a complex character and NO it will not be easy to replace him. It was alleged that Eric B set this bogus plan up to get rid of MM because a his ego. They set him up and used Hunter to finally get rid of him because all their other attempts failed. This is a serious charge that they’re trying to stick on this man. His career is another issue that will be affected. They’re snakes and I don’t agree with this witch hunt on M Muhhey. I’m so angry with that crew that I can’t even watch Y&R anymore. I show that I’ve been watching for 3 decades.

You are wrong. MM is not an easy replacement and Y&R will suffer for firing him and all the other talented actors. This is not going away any time soon! Y&R should be canceled! It is over for them!

There are two reasons why this situation has exploded OUT OF CONTROL in my opinion.

A) Because everyone was already fed up with JP being there and her numerous, unwelcome, cast changes to give her friends jobs at the expense of the veterans. This was just the straw that broke the camel’s back.

AND

B) Because the cast themselves, not to mention the leaks coming from the people there, won’t shut up about it!

I think JP tried to use this situation to get herself out of the fans hot-seat and it back fired big time. This story was leaked for one reason only, and that was so no one would blame JP for MM leaving.

100% Agree!

I am not pro JFP or against her…but when people talk about these veterans that she has supposedly pushed aside….that is just false and not true. Yes…she did that on General Hospital…no doubt. But on Y and R under her tenure, all of the veterans have been front and centre. Jack, Victor, Nikki, Paul, Lauren, Michael, Nick, Sharon, Jill, etc are the vets and they have not suffered at all. I was not a fan of Josh Griffith’s writing at all…he wrote awful non- stories for most of these people…so the complaint is with the writing…then I agree. But takig JFP to task for cuttiing or firing vets from this show is just not truth.

Well I blame all the people over there that stood back, watched and didn’t defend or help MM. The execs right down to the crew.

From what I understand there has been infighting, back biting, cliques, and jealously for years on Y&R. Because of MM firing, it has all been exposed for all of us to see now.

Agree 100% also!

I think the actors have a right to state their opinions. I think some fans are too insensitive. I also think the show is not just one actor or one story. Eventually they will weather this storm but as any human knows…when you are in the middle of crisis, your instinct is to feel like it will never end. I must say though…from some things I have seen written by “fans”, I’m not so positive the police shouldn’t take note of some of the threats. I enjoy the show so I will simply watch, enjoy and sit on the sidelines and hope the best outcome for all involved happens when this has all blown over.

KSJ stated he wants this to stop, but then proceeded to compare the MM scandal to the LA Riots, and being in a war zone where the cast has to don flak jackets – the LA riots??, Really? – this story won’t end because every day somebody else throws another log on the fire – today was KSJ’s turn, I would suggest if the cast want to free themselves from the social media ‘war zone’ they simply turn off their computers and stop talking about this, then the fire will die out on its own – this is not the first Hollywood sex scandal and it won’t be the last.

I agree, Luke. KSJ’s heart may be in the right place but his comments are over the top and unnecessary. This isn’t the soap version of Armageddon. Y&R isn’t the first soap to spark fan ire for having to release a popular actor for behind the scenes issues and they surely won’t be the last. Guess what…the show must go on. KSJ could have pretty much summed up his thoughts with those five words along with assuring fans that the rest of the cast and crew would continue to give it their all to put out the best show they can in the Bell family tradition. ‘Nuff said.

Bravo,Bravo, well said.If the actors and KSJ would stop talking this mess would eventually quiet down.Like a smothering fire if you stir it it will continue to burn. MM is not talking it the Y&R actors and it’s what fueling the fans and keeping this going. My granny use to say”Just cause you invite to an idiot party dosen’t mean you have to attend. KSL ,LA Riot comment leave me speechless.

Well said! This is like the Energizer Bunny it keeps going and going. Hope soon the battery runs out.

In some ways I prefer the pre social media days when we had no clue what celebrities were thinking or feeling or saying. Then I think….oh wait…these people get paid to ACT for a living…we still have no clue what they are REALLY thinking or feeliing or saying or doing. I am sure this is causing stress and turmoil at the show. Job disruptions do that. But his has NO impact on any viewer whatsoever. It is a fictional show where actors come and go. If you know Michael Muhney personally…then go have a beer with him and get the scoop. If nlt…seriously…GET OVER IT.. Go to work…raise your kids…love your family….go for a walk in the park….go visit your grandma…..bake a cake….live YOUR life! Dont obsess over people you dont know….likely never will…and who will be just fine without you.

It seems some of the cast are blaming the fans for the upheaval..

We the fans did not create this mess, it is not our mess.

The mess is the Y&R backyard, not with the fans.
Look at Sony/CBS, the Y&R betrayer leaking to TMZ, , and a couple of cast members who keep putting fuel to the fire..

Soap fans can be vicious, and yet full of love..
don’t blame us for the mess and don’t plead to us to fix it..

We didn’t want MM gone, and he was taken from us,,
you guys have to deal with that mistake, not us..

Don’t care that they fired Mm. I do feel bad for the girl that is being bullied though.

Oh sure, the girl that lied?

Some attorneys are having a field day planning their vacations & second homes on the fees they are getting out of this mess. I am sure on both sides (Sony/CBS & MM) they have been given gag orders. Too bad they didn’t do it sooner before some of the actors started commenting.

My prediction….unless she covered her ass in a major way….Ms. McDaniel is going to be job hunting soon. How many people do not think it was she who leaked that story to TMZ…both the general public or TPTB?

I feel sorry for both MM & HK regardless of the veracity of the story. They have both been tarred & feathered and ripped to shreds because of that TMZ story. MM was let go….people were upset. Then, that story comes out and cast begin commenting and all hell breaks loose.

We have all probably seen blind items about *stars* behavior….be it ego, drinking, drugs, attitude…..and we go, hmmm…..wonder who and move on. The constant attention to this by fellow castmates has done nothing but exacerbate the situation.

I don’t think KSJ meant to fan the flames….I get the feeling he is extremely frustrated by all parties involved and probably dreads going to that studio at the moment. He was unloading….but maybe should have hit that delete button.

As an aside….I find Michael Logan’s behavior as disgusting as anyone else’s. He is a journalist (supposedly) yet seems like a gleeful tyke with his snippy, “I know something you don’t” comments & twitter posts. Maybe time for him to step away from the keyboard as well.

Its over MM is gone, let its go now please!!!

Thank you!

He wants attention and a storyline so badly

He really hasn’t had a decent storyline since Drucilla left. Bring her back and maybe this guy will STFU about a matter which does not involve him.

Please, for the love of God, SHUT UP! Enough.

This situation that has come up reminds me of story a friend stated to years ago about EB (she was on the set at that time probably in the early nineties). She said she saw him ***king off in his dressing room with the door wide open & how it made her sick. So it seems to be some of the people criticizing MM have absolutely no room to speak…with some of the other situations mentioned in previous years written here & elsewhere…bandwagon jumping seems to occur to these individuals only when things are made public..as for social media…Social media doesn’t seem to have made our lives any better jmo….

Gloria please tell me that you were kidding?

hmmm….why would that not surprise me!!!

TOTALLY DISGUSTING!!!!!

I didn’t know Twerking was around back then.

LOL.

i’d rather go blind…

than watch the “old” lion twerking himself UP in to a frenzy!

lol

That right there is why the internet is such a freakin scary place! ANYONE can post ANYTHING and ruin someones life and career in one second!! Eric Breaden jerks off! Major news flash! So does every man who has a hand. But post that his door was open while doing it and suddenly he is a dangerous pervert. This is unbelievable and disgusting.

hey I realize that men do this all the time…but usually not in front of other people..does this make him a pervert?,…no just very indiscreet…I sincerely doubt EB’s career will be ruined..but MM’s career shouldn’t be ruined by one person’s accusations either..I just don’t thing EB or these other co workers of his should bad mouth him either when they haven’t any room to talk..everyone has skeletons in the closet not just on soaps..

KSJ makes a lot of good points. good for him for standing up for himself and his coworkers. The public needs to get a grip and but out of this work place situation. Commenting that it’s sad or they feel disappointed or supportive is fine espousing on a topic they really know nothing about is arrogant and inappropriate.

Melody Thomas Scott is that you?

I hope the fans that have vowed to stop watching do just that. I have said it before and shall again, after nearly 40 years of viewing I will tune Y&R out and remove it from my DVR Effective January 31, 2014. CBS, SONY, and anyone else involved needs to witness a huge ratings dump after this entire senseless tactic. I literally despise JFP and dislike Jean Passanante almost as much. The actors from Y&R need not defend either of these individuals for my benefit it only adds fuel to the fire. KSJ is ridiculous for comparing this crap to the horrible LA riots. REALLY? Get Real KSJ no one was killed in your petty agenda dictated backstage drama. Appalling!

How are you being any less melodramatic and drama queen-ish than him?

He really is a drama queen.

I wonder how the poor citizens who actually lived in the war zone feel about his comparison ? A millionaire comparing this situation to the LA riots. pleeeeeaaaaassse

If KSJ wants the show to be saved, he best look the other direction at his bosses. Many viewers have/are waking up and unwilling to accept the craptastic content his bosses are serving up. The fans HAVE supported this show for 40 yrs, but now we are faced with the question of “What is the reward for our loyalty?” This is not the soap it once was and if it was better than it used to be then things would be different.

I couldn’t agree more. This is definitely not the show it once was. It’s a mere shell of it’s former self with horrible sets, bad and boring s/l’s and no attention paid to the history of the show.

Poor Baby.
I don’t think any of us need to feel sorry for him, he’s doing just fine in that regard all on his own.

And now he blames the fans. He’s right to do so if people are being ugly to him or to others, which is so very easy to do on the internet. But if he’s blaming those who are asking WHAT HAPPENED, he’s misdirecting his anger. TPTB that leaked this are the ones he should be angry.
None of this would be happening if they’d just KEPT THEIR MOUTHS SHUT. Which is something he should be doing right now.
As to his seeming claim that cast members are all saints simply because of the longevity of their jobs, and those with less seniority, less “saintly”, that’s even sillier.

If TPTB won’t address the facts – which is their responsibiity since the leaks are their responsibility, then the cast should act with the class they find lacking in others online and just be quiet – or at the very least, refuse to respond to anything they find posted about this dustup.

His pity party isn’t doing him or the show any good.

And I, for one, find it more than a little peculiar that all this has happened since JFP took over the show. This isn’t the first show she’s been in charge of that has imploded on a personal level.

I completely agree. I also noticed that he didn’t mention PB (Jack). PB started in 1989 and KSJ in 1991. I guess he included him in the many others category or is not part of the clique. PB imo still has it and is a great actor.

I would rather see the all the Newmans go with their pompass attitude like they own everything than see Adam go he came in a sicking role and was able to warm the hearts of fans and just then he is being let go what gives and where is redemption sorry but when there are no more Adam i certainly wont be watching or taping the show

O cry me a river– poor baby. If he thinks he is living in a war zone he should move somewhere where people are actually living in a war zone and then maybe he would stop the melodrama. Yes they all put into a chunk of time into the show, but you got PAID handsomely to do it. Some actors in Hollywood would LOVE to have a steady paying gig like KSTJ has.

What about fans– I have invested years myself in watching a show, for free, did not get paid to watch, and to see it torn to shreds by incompetent management is frustrating. A lot of the anger Y&R is getting right now isn’t reallly just about MM– his firing was the proverbial straw that broke the camel’s back. Fans have been frustrated for years and I think all of that pent up frustration is coming out in this time. Lately the cast has been blaming us the fans for all this– trying to manage us by feeding us spin— which is making it worse.

the fans have kept all of you in a decent job for years– so what you are sensing back stage is perhaps fear— realizing all of you could lose your nice jobs not just MM, if management doesn’t wake up and realize you don’t have a show if you alienate the fans away from the show– and you alienate us when you give us lame stories, you kill off legacy characters, you bring on newbies that make the show totally unrecognizable, and you can’t kept your talent happy and you lose them. But most of all you piss us off when you disrespect us by blaming us instead of accepting responsibility for all these blunders.
I don’t want to see the show cancelled either– but honestly I do hope this show loses its number one spot, then maybe, just maybe, someone at CBS or Sony will realized they have the wrong people managing this show and replace them with someone who knows this show, OR better yet, someone who knows who their fans are and what they really want. If GH can do it, so can you.

End of rant. Thank you.

I am definitely in agreement with you that this whole thing isn’t just about Muhney or Hunter King; that may have sparked it, but massive fan frustration with years and years of bad decisions (going back before JFP), and things just getting worse instead of better every time the creative team changes, have played a significant part in it as well. I think if the show were in good shape creatively, people would still have been POed, but this whole sad, sad episode would not have exploded the way it has.

Well said, Mary, well said.
It sounds like the only adult on set is Peter Bergman, who has admirably kept silent.

And a great rant it is. I loved it.
And consider this–I highly doubt the actors who are not involved and not speaking out publicly about this issue are being abused and harassed. For instance, I doubt Peter Bergman is being harassed about these allegations and the subsequent firing.

You are so right… they forgot who butters their bread!

But is it a sex scandal?? We don’t know the truth about what happened so everyone should just cease and desist spreading rumours and reacting on social media!! I hope for MM that it isn’t the truth ! My full support to HK if it is true!

While it’s admirable that Mr. St. John has spoken his piece and asked that fans be understanding, etc., other stars have soundly jumped onto the “Muhney must be wrong, King must be right” bandwagon without honestly knowing what happened, if anything.

ALL of this mess is because of an anonymous rumor started by a post on Soaps.com, and unless someone with some massive power, such as VP of Daytime Programming Angelica McDaniels, CBS President Steve Kent or even executive producer Jill Farren Phelps (whom, I’m sorry to say, most fans wouldn’t believe if they her do something with their own eyes) come out and give a statement, this is going to continue to fester and grow and just ruin Y&R and it’s wonderful, Bell-created 40-year image.

But then again, wasn’t that what Phelps was hired for? To “destroy” Y&R within a couple years? That’s what so many articles stated when she was hired on in August of 2012, and started her work in October of the same year.

Unless someone directly involved in this whole mess speaks out, either directly to the public or through a spokesperson (representative, attorney, whomever), it’s going to continue to grow and fester and roil. CBS, Sony and Y&R, seriously, need to end this by making some kind of statement themselves, not by asking their stars, who may be risking their own jobs/careers by doing so.
wolfy

Sorry.

Meant to say “Most fans wouldn’t believe her if they see her do something with their own eyes.”

My mistake in faster brain than fingers…
wolfy

UGH!

“Most fans wouldn’t believe if they see her do something with their own eyes.”

Man…today isn’t my day to write!
wolfy

I wish that Kristoff St. John and those other Y&R cast members would just SHUT UP ALREADY!!!!! They are N-O-T helping matters…at all.

why do they always have to bring in shakespeare? he wouldn’t have touched such petty transparent characters with a bargepole

Outside of Twitter, where is all this backlash and attacking taking place? How about the actors step away from social media and I’m sure this will die down. They’re all feeding it and allowing the “fans” to rile them up. Step away from the computers and phones folks at Y&R.

Memo to all actors at Y&R if you want to stop the madness in the words of Jesse Pinkman/Breaking Bad Yo Bitches shut up!!!!!

Yeah Bitches!!

Folks my goodness its just a show, yes they let an actor go, big deal it happens all the time daytime or night time, WOW ……let’s move on!

Some of you make the actor who play Adam GOD, he was not the show, my goodness!

Personally, I believe that TPTB at Y&R/CBS/Sony are basking in the publicity and actually think it is going to draw more viewers to this flailing show. Too late, I believe. I think because of the way this has all been handled Y&R is now dead in the water and we will see it finally bite the dust before the year is over.

I hope that is not true. If the number one soap for twenty-five years goes down–trust me the rest of them will follow. If CBS cancels the highest rated soap it will give the rest of them ABC and NBC the excuse to finally get out of daytime dramas– because right now no network wants to be the one that plugged the plug on daytime dramas altogether– but if CBS cancels Y&R, B&B will go because it loses its lead in– then CBS is drama free– giving the other networks the excuse and out they been waiting for. So be careful what you wish for all you say Y&R should go, because your soap will be next if it does.
But I do hope they lose their number one position because that might be the kick in the pants CBS needs to really get behind this show and put people in charge that will strive to make it the best and not rest on laurels of the past.

Disagree. The other soaps are not crazy enough to fire one of their leading men. MM is not the issue (above comment); this has been building up over a long time. Y&R writing sinks and has for a while. MM was just the straw that broke the camel’s back. If Y&R makes it through 2014, I will be surprised.

I do believe this nasty information was deliberately leaked to cause irreparable damage to Muhney’s career
A deliberate leak by a hateful insider, someone who really has a major bone to pick with MM. Management placed a gag order on two parties BUT not the other employees, fishy.
This underhanded, backdoor if you will, angle, is coming back in spades to hurt Y&R.
I’m sure the intention was to cover their butts when they fired him. A nice explanation, no problem, no consequences.
But viewers are upset, the show won’t be the same.
The girl will get work, but MM has been branded, I hope he is given another opportunity and learns to keep cool, chill, not to take things to heart, be professional, a paycheck is what is needed at the end of the day. He needs his next opportunity.
Hey, even felons are returned to society after doing their time. They are given a second chance. That is the way our civilised society works.

As for this thread, shove it KSJ.

PS
Michael and family, if you are reading this, all the best.

Let’s review:
“Fans” complain that information is being held from them when actors/producers/ won’t talk about this. But when someone from the show says something, fans are mad.

I agree that one or two actors have been unnecessarily rude in the way they have handled the Twitter comments. While I don’t agree with how one or two have responded, what do you expect? They are supposed to take constant attacks and just smile?

Everyone wants to know the gossip & juicy details but fail to realize that people from the show REALLY CAN get in trouble for sharing information. It’s easy for all of us to be arm chair quarterbacks… saying what needs to be done and how it should be done when we are not the ones actually having to deal with it.

I dont know where Kristoff St John is getting all this from, but you reap what you sow, if it is a war zone behind the scenes , I am glad to hear it. Oh by the way Kristoff you better hold on your hat, because you really are one of the characters who should be taken off. You not had a decent part since Driscilla died, when you come on the show I change the channel and go back when you are off, because you have no role, and these people like Eric, who plays the same lousy role over and over again just a little bit different each time arent you getting sick of it , god you are in your seventys. Melalnie Thomas Scott oh where do I begin, you were a wonderful actress years ago, forget it now, same old whinning parts, like victor just a little different.. Your brillant part now, all of a sudden you remember you had a child about 35yrs ago and go looking for it, how many other children do you have out there you had in the past.. You should be embrassed to keep playing the stupid parts, looking up to victor him kissing you on the cheek, omg sick.. There is only one man on the show I like and that is Jack the rest of you could all go away and get new people and no one would even know you were gone. So stop asking Michael to come how, why would he God he was fired why would why would he care, I just hope he got a real good lawyer, I dont know how this business goes but I pray there is something he can go.. A WAR ZONE YOU DONT KNOW WHAT A WAR ZONE IS IF US HIS FANS COULD FIGURE OUT HOW TO FIX ALL YOU TO GET HIM BACK!!!!!!! I never thought Michael was a quiet. stand offiish man, he is no wimp, I imagine he did speak up to Eric B. You are going to be sorry people if he dosent come back and it doesnt look like anyone behind the scenes is doing anything to make this right Gail P

I completely agree with you Gail P. It’s a complete disgrace what they’ve done to MM. I can’t even stand to watch this show anymore. The sight of them makes me angry. I don’t think I’ve ever been this angry about something like this before. I just don’t like snakes.

I have never read such self indulgent nonsense in my life. Comparing the Y&R scandal to the LA riots? Kristoff takes narcissism to new lows.

I’m am not a fan of this actor. HOWEVER, I pretty much agree with his statement. The fans who have made his show #1 for 25 years are pissed off. He has to realize, we dont work on Y&R but WE to have invested years of viewing and are hurt by all the backstage drama that is going on. SOMEONE needs to stand up for the show, Sony, CBS, whomever and address this, put it to rest, recast, apologize and put he drama BACK into the SHOW!

yeah, lets compare a bunch of entitled spoiled actors and their backstage antics with the LA Riots.

I see the comparisone. Idiot.

Just shut up, the cast is making this worse.

how can MM or HK clear things up when they have had a gag order puut on them? EB the
bully Diva gets to malign anyone especially the talented..Great way to treat actors and fans

they to tell their actors to stop commenting on this story I believe their is more to this story then this if mm was so arrognant and bad as they say he was why didn’t they fire him before signing him to a new contract I believe all those castmembers speaking against mm didn’t like him kristoff st.john is showing all this support for hk but when Victoria rowell was being talked about and done the same way they are doing mm I didn’t see him or any of the cast members standing up for her it’s obvious you have to be a ass kisser on this show they don’t like people who speak their minds

I don’t like Kristoff St. John (Neil Winters) in Y&R. I consider him arrogant in the show. Now I know why. He is just playing himself.

St John is just trying to protect his job.

Acting is cut-throat work. MM and BM out shined all the other characters including EB and St John. Jealousy is a green eyed monster and it is clear St John is the color green. He should keep in mind that when you tick-off the fans you are putting a nail in your own coffin. If he, and the other characters, lecture the fans the viewers will just turn the show off. Then he can join MM and BM in the unemployment line.

i used to love this show in the days of snapper jill greg foster. and the actresses trish stewart, janice lynde pamela solow playing sisters. and jeanne cooper as mrs chancellor with brett halsey as phillip chancellor. then donnely rhodes as mr chancellor. those were good times watching this soap.

Haley Pullos Receives 90-Day Jail Sentence Following DUI Charge And Wrong-Way Car Crash

Former General Hospital actress, Haley Pullos (ex-Molly Lansing-Davis) is going to be doing time in jail, exactly one-year after her arrest from a hit and run wrong-way car collision.

The crash resulted in bodily harm and damages to the other driver, and now Pullos who pleaded “no contest” to the charges and will serve 90 days in jail. She was taken in custody on Monday, April 29th, after the ruling.

According to Haley’s attorney, Mark Daniel Melnick, the 25-year-old actress struck a plea deal and after her three months in jail will be sentenced on July 29th. As part of that sentencing, she must serve five years probation, 200 hours of community service and pay $8,260 in restitution to Courteney Wilder, the other driver in the crash and her driver’s license is revoked for a year.

According to TMZ, the plea deal for Pullos has the “no contest” to one DUI, while the judge dropped the felony DUI causing bodily injury and misdemeanor hit and run charges.

Melnick said in a statement to PEOPLE, “Haley is very grateful to the court for a minimum sentence and for recognizing her remorse and the strides she has made in her sobriety.”

Pullos had played the daughter of Alexis Davis (played by Nancy Lee Grahn) on the ABC soap opera since 2009, but after her car crash and DUI she was replaced by three different actresses until the show finally settled on the current Molly, Kristen Vaganos.

Back in April 29 of 2023, and at the scene of the crash, the police found edibles and mini-bottles of tequila in Pullos’ vehicle and that she was intoxicated. As it turned out, this was to be the second hit and run in the evening for Pullos who had an earlier collision with another car.

The courts decision follows a year-long legal battle with Haley’s pleas changing throughout it, ranging from “not guilty” to “no contest”. She sought treatment for her drinking at a rehab following the crash.

Nancy Lee Grahn, who portrayed Pullos’ on-screen mom took to X on Monday night, April 29th and shared on the sentence and the specific jail, Haley will be serving time: “As Haley’s TV mom I can tell some truths about her as I’ve loved her since she was little girl. She made a HUGE mistake, knows it, owns it & has spent the last yr doing EVERYTHING imaginable to take responsibility 4 it. It’s not that I oppose jail. It’s that I oppose this jail.” The jail in question by Grahn is the L.A. county jail.

So, what do you think about Haley Pullos serving a 90-days jail sentence, and the other rulings that will be part of her sentencing? Comment below.

Kimberlin Brown Back to The Bold and the Beautiful

As expected, although viewers didn’t know exactly when it would be revealed, on today’s April 29th episode of The Bold and the Beautiful, Sheila Carter is found alive and well.

Finn (Tanner Novlan) and Deacon (Sean Kanan) make the discovering that Sheila didn’t actually die; and that it was her plastic surgery makeover lookalike, Sugar, that met her maker. That means, Sheila’s portrayer, Kimberlin Brown, is back on the show and Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) killed Sugar in self-defense, not Sheila.

Speaking on what was a shocking return for her, Brown chatted with Deadline about her getting the opportunity to resurrect Sheila one more time and with a new contract to boot.

When asked if she thought B&B’s executive producer and head writer, Brad Bell changed course midstream in the story, Kimberlin expressed, “Either that or he had this in mind all along and just didn’t tell me about it! But I can’t see anybody doing anything that evil, however. That would be a Sheila moment.”

Kimberlin also shared how she first learned she was being let go from the show, recalling, “Brad called me upstairs to talk to me about what he had in mind for Sheila. It was a hard pill for me to swallow. It had been years of playing Sheila, and I consider her my baby, so to speak. And that was definitely not news I was anticipating or hoping to receive.” She added “When I walked into his office, he looked at me and went, ‘We’re killing off your character.’”

As to what the future holds for Sheila, enduring villainess and fan favorite, Kimberlin Brown, shared some intel: “I am happy to say that I have been asked to negotiate another contract.’

So, glad to know that Kimberlin Brown is back as Sheila Carter? What do you think will be Sheila’s next move? Did you believe for a second, maybe two, that Sheila would really be ‘dead-dead’ on the soaps? Comment below.

(INTERVIEW) Y&R’s Eric Braeden Chats on His First Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination in 20 Years, Why He Entered the Race After Voting Reform, and His Enduring Legacy as Victor Newman

The Young and the Restless’ iconic Eric Braeden (Victor Newman) received his first Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination in 20 years, when NATAS and the 51st annual Daytime Emmy Awards revealed who would be going for gold at the upcoming ceremony on June 7th live on CBS and streaming on Paramount+.

The iconic Braeden is a past Lead Actor recipient having won back in 1998. However, the last time Eric was nominated in the category was 2004. Throughout his enduring run on the top-rated CBS soap opera, he has now received a total of 9 Lead Actor nominations and a 10th, when back in 2002, along with Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki), they were nominated in the now defunct and then special fan voted category for “America’s Favorite Couple.”

This year, Eric’s nominated reel features scenes between Victor and Adam (Mark Grossman) where they discuss their fractured relationship as father and son, and the struggles and conflicts they have had personally and in business. In addition, Braeden also shares scenes with Melody Thomas Scott’s Nikki, where Victor voices his disappointment that the Newman children seemingly can’t get along and work together within the Newman dynasty. In Eric’s reel, the only characters who make appearances are the aforementioned Adam and Nikki.

Michael Fairman visited the set of The Young and the Restless for a special video sit-down with the legendary star exclusively for the Michael Fairman Channel.

During the conversation, Eric touched upon why he will participate in the Daytime Emmys at this point in his career due to changes in the voting procedures, his most embarrassing Emmy moment, how he feels about his fellow nominees, and that he wilattending this year’s ceremony.

Here are a few excerpts from the interview below, followed by the full video interview in its entirety.

How does it feel to get your first Lead Actor nomination in 20 years?

ERIC: You can’t help but feel very good about it. I had not submitted any stuff for more than 10 years, because I didn’t believe in the voting process. Finally, the academy had the sense to invite outsiders to widen the circle of those who vote for this. You cannot ask for objectivity when you vote from within only your company. That’s nonsense. Then, personalities play a role in who likes who. I’m very happy about the nomination, though.

You had some scenes between father and son on your nominated reel, as Victor and Adam (Mark Grossman) discuss their complex relationship and history. How was working with Mark?

ERIC: Mark Grossman is a wonderful actor. He’s a good actor.

You would up this year in a Lead Actor category that also features: John McCook (Eric, B&B), Thorsten Kaye (Ridge, B&B), Scott Clifton (Liam, B&B), and Eric Martsolf (Brady, DAYS). I think you know some of these gentlemen?

ERIC: Thorsten Kaye is a very good actor. I’ve known John McCook for 150 years, I think 140 years, maybe. And the other gentlemen, I don’t know, but I’m sure they’re all worthy of receiving the same award.

I talked to Eric Martsolf after he received his Daytime Emmy nomination, and he said he’s so honored to be in the category with you, and that his late mother would be so thrilled that he’s in the category with Victor Newman. My late mom felt the same way when she came to the set and met you years ago. For so many people, you are the guy they all want to meet.

ERIC: That’s nice. That’s really very touching to know. This medium in that sense has been wonderful. As I’ve told you before, I joined this reluctantly and signed on for three months, and here I am 44 years later. That’s very nice to know about Eric’s mother, and your mother.

What was your reaction to finding out you were nominated?

ERIC: To be very frank with you, I was very happy. I said “Oh, that’s nice.” Someone had listened because I’d complained for years about the voting system, and it was based on pure laziness as far as I’m concerned. There are 150,000 registered actors in Hollywood. You can’t tell me that you can vote only from within your company. It’s nonsense. It’s not right. You know, let other actors from the outside be judges of what they see.

Photo: Courtesy/NATAS

I believe when you won in 1998, you didn’t go to the Emmy’s, right?

ERIC: I was doing a Shakespeare play that evening, if I recall. However, I’ve got to tell you about the most embarrassing moment. Aretha Franklin was a big fan of the show and of mine. She had asked me if I would present with her at Radio City Music Hall in New York. These producers when you accept an award, be it the Oscars or whatever it is, they will sit in the booth, and they say, “Move on, move on, move on.” They want you to get on and off stage very quickly. That should not be allowed. When you receive an award, then it should last a little. So, there’s a ticker thing in front of me, and you look at it and kept on saying, “Eric Braeden move on.” I’d hardly been there with Aretha Franklin and I wanted to thank Bill Bell (co-creator and former head writer, Y&R). We owe everything to him. We owe everything to that man’s foundation and his genius. So, I stood there with Aretha and I saw again “Eric Braeden.” So I said, “And I would like to thank Eric Braeden.” The moment I said it, I wanted to sink in to the ground. Fortunately, it was a long time ago, but I had to bring it up again because I’ll never forget it.

Photo: CBS

You’ve done so much for this industry, so much for Y&R, and the soaps. You’re an icon in it. It must be nice to get recognized by your peers, at this point in your career.

ERIC: It felt wonderful, no question. I even sent the nominating announcement to my brothers in German. I’m very happy about it, very proud of it, you know.

So, will you be rooting for Eric come Emmy night to take home his first Lead Actor Emmy in 20 years? Share your thoughts via the comment section below.
