GENERAL HOSPITAL: Dante Takes A Tumble, Fluke Becomes Unhinged, Bombs Are Set!

Courtesy/ABC

Courtesy/ABC

On Thursday’s episode of ABC’s General Hospital, it looks like Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) will be spending a lot of time, or whatever time he has left with his MIA father-in-law Luke Spencer (Tony Geary)!

After taking a horrific fall down the flight of stairs to the basement courtesy of Fluke, and where Luke has been help captive, Luke is shocked to see that first Dante made down the basement, but after his tumble, Fluke mercilessly knocked him out cold! And thus Fluke, who has slowly but surely become more unhinged, unveils his plot to Luke that all of his loved ones are going to die tonight at the party at the Haunted Star.

Fluke admits Dante was sniffing around Bill Eckert’s grave and it was empty, to which Luke shouts at his imposter to finally admit that he is actually Bill Eckert, but Fluke instead gives us another creepy and chilling look.  Is this doppelganger under mind control from Helena (Constance Towers)?  What is the vendetta stemming from?  In a juxtaposed scene, we see Tracy (Jane Elliot) and Michael (Chad Duell) talking about Bill Eckert. Tracy recalls Bill always had an edge and always came out to the short end of things all through his life, and took a bullet meant for Luke via Frank Smith and his crime clan!

At the end of the episode, Fluke now dressed in a tuxedo reveals that he also has plans for Luke and Dante, and he takes a bomb and puts in Luke’s lap and it is set to explode!  Luke is horrified as Fluke leaves to go to the party!

Meanwhile, after planting the bomb on the Haunted Star courtesy of Helena, Jake (Billy Miller) is arrested by Nathan (Ryan Paevey) after a tip from Carly (Laura Wright)! And the prison break came to fruition and worked leaving Madeline (Donna Mills) in the dust as Julian (William deVry), Sonny (Maurice Benard), Franco (Roger Howarth) and Ava (Maura West) escaped!

Whether you love or hate, Fluke, Puke, Luke, whatever you want to call the character, this has truly been a showcase for the extraordinary talents of seven-time Daytime Emmy winner, Anthony Geary.  When all is said in done, its hard not to believe his eighth one is about to be added to his record-breaking collection!

So, what have you thoughts of  Tony Geary’s performances? And, for our update on your thoughts on “Who is Fluke?” here are some of the theories our there:  Do you think it’s really Bill Eckert? A Cassadine?  Patricia?  Damien Smith?  Anthony Zacchara ? Someone else?  Will Dante save the day for Luke?  Comment below as it looks like the storyline is finally, finally, set to blow wide open … literally!

It reminded me of the scene in MISERY where the sheriff is standing at the top of the stairs and is just about to find James Caan’s character in the cellar, but Kathy Bates shoots him at the top of the stairs. In other words, you knew it was too good to be true that the victim would be rescued and then …

Im in misery because of this storyline…lol

Dante is the worst cop EVER. You knew Fluke would free himself from the staircase. I wouldnt let Dante take Rocco to the park alone!

I love, love, love Tony Geary……but for Pete’s sake can we PULEEEEZZZE
end this storyline – it’s dragged on way too long.
The people of Port Charles will solve this whole thing just in time for Tony to take another one of his Amsterdam vacations ….. 🙁

Sounds like its going to be EXPLOSIVE!…lol

I bet the substitute is right…instead of fluke(really luke) talking to an empty chair like some of us thought, luke as fluke has gone norman bates and that pshyco has been talking to the decomposed body of Bill Echart…lol

Exactly, jimh.

RC has us guessing, and that is good.. and- rare !
We always know ”’who”’ because we are soap experts and we just know lol, but not this time..
Tony was leaving GH.. He said his character had become stale/go nowhere and it was time for him to go..
RC and FV wished him well, etc..
Then 4 days before he was to exit RC presented Tony with this story.. Tony was very thrilled to be able to have a really intriguing bad guy story and he stayed..
I believe this is Tony’s exit story.. His Last hurrah ..

Also– I do not believe Fluke is Bill Echart, not gonna happen.. to obvious.

GH was great today…i was entertained the whole hour…loved the suspenseful build up to the dead body of Bill…great job to the poster…the substitute…who said the chair will contain Bills body…now substitute if you are reading this are you really a gh fan watcher or are you fluking us and really Ron C. who wanted us to know…just jokin’…lol

As I said on another post…I think they might change the history. Luke was really shot all those years ago and Bill Eckert has been living his life all these years…either purposely or because he was brainwashed into believing he really is Luke. Meantime, The real Luke had gone crazy, escaped from witness protection or wherever he was all these years…and has come back to take revenge and claim what he feels should have been his. To top it off…TG indicated he wanted his run on the show to go out in a blaze…perhaps he’ll die in the explosion and then we’ll finally learn who he was…

My question for RC would be did you always intend for it to be Luke or not? I think if he was honest their were a lot of rewrites because of TG’s health issues. I do believe however with others this will be TG’s exit storyline. I mean really where do you go from here now?

Maybe Luke has DID and actually he is Luke AND Fluke. Tied-up Luke is a figment of his messed up mind. Whatever they come up with, it’ll probably be anti-climactic. I’m just glad I can watch today because Brad and Lucas have their clothes on now. That was gross!

Maybe its Richard Simmons. lol

LOL

The dead body of Bill Echart(spelling?) is in that chair…which is what another poster predicted while some of us have been discussing Luke has always been fluke!!!

I feel sorry for people like you. What a terrible comment to make in this day and age.

To whom are you speaking, Katie? I cannot see any comment which I find offensive. I think you might mean the Richard Simmons comment and if so remember: 1. When Sharon wrote that comment it had not yet been revealed that there was a dead body, possibly Bill Eckert’s in that chair. And 2. Richard Simmons has been a guest star on GH on and off for the last thirty years.
It was just a harmless little joke–no harm, no foul.

I agree with you Katie. That comment was not necessary. That proves that they are very good actors.

lol
Brad a Lucas rocked it!!
They are an awesome couple and that scene was real, realism is a good thing ..
Too may whine about the make believe, then they are presented with something real and they can’t accept that either, go figure..
I hope there is a good story on the horizon for Lucas and Brad, and I am straight woman and I luv the couple ..

RC has us all guessing; ”who is Fluke?”
sorta like; ”who shot JR?” ……………….. 😉 lol

Yes well, compared to Fluke talking to a decomposing corpse, Bobbie in the shower is Shakespeare.

I agree. Lucas and Brad are good together. Most of us know they are “ACTORS” just doing their job.

Hey, Su.
As you know, I am also straight…married to a man.
I am glad you brought this up. I was actually waiting for Lucas and Brad to continue with their relationship. I’d like to see where it goes. I’m just not into a ménage a’ trois sex. That is icky. Let’s keep it between two people.
Is this what Katie is talking about? Now, I get it….duh !!…LOL.

Yeah I was glad I could watch today too cause the straight couples had their clothes on. #disgusting What a narrow minded person. I have never heard a gay person say they can’t watch a show cause all the straight couples are clothed. WTF?

You should be careful. Some people don’t realize others aren’t used to seeing certain things or they may not realize you are deeply rooted in your religion. I’m just glad you didn’t suggest any harm to certain characters. BTW, Sonny will be attacked on DAYS!

careful? why, because the PC police might arrest me? LOL .. I speak for the majority of fans, everybody I know is disgusted by these types of scenes. Even if most people support gay rights, that doesn’t mean most people want to watch them going at it.

I was aroused… turned on immediately

SERIOUSLY??? Seriously? Seeing 2 men in love and expressing love for each other is considered “Gross” to you? WOW! Just proves that there really are small minded HOMOPHOBIC BIGOTS still to spewing their hate. I TRULY feel sorry for you and your small feeble mind. I just pray that your polluted uterus didn’t produce any offspring because I would hate to think that your spawn would have you as a parent. And that’s MY opinion of your gross self.

I thought it was hot!!

I don’t buy Carly going to the Police. Since when? That is not how Carly does things, ever. Sure Jason isn’t around and neither is Sonny, but then she would have gone to Shawn. And considering the circumstances, what about Sam? Of course it’s just a plot point to get Nathan involved so he can help save the day, which is annoying on its own, but another example of characters acting OOC to move along the plot, which in this case involves another way to prop Nathan.

Carly sees what she is doing as her only option to protect Jake from Jake. Its actually a pretty darn good move by her.

I need this dumb story to end already; it’s boring and drags for unnecessary amounts of time. Kill off Luke/Fluke and just say goodbye for good.

I’m with you, Scott. So over it. It’s dragged way too long. I care more about other interesting storylines and characters, than Luke/Fluke, etc. I’m totally loving Johnny Zachara back with us, though. Hopefully, he’s around on the canvas for a while.

Really over the Fluke storyline. As endless as B&B’s love triangles. Really hope the endgame might be salvation and reconciliation and reunion of the Spencer family. They seem so disjointed and disconnected. What happened to the joy with these crazy capers?

Maybe Fluke is the sister Patricia they
keep talking about? Apparently they didn’t
Talk about her for a reason. Maybe she
Had plastic surgery over the years to perfect
Her “Luke” face/body and took Bill’s body
To talk to it or put it in a place she felt more
Appropriate for Bill to be buried. Fluke hates
The family and maybe Patricia had a close
Relationship with Bill and is paying them all
Back. Who knows – just a theory.

I’m just hoping Dante dies.

Noooooo. Love Dante!

YES! Lulu and Johnny! Dante is a stick in the mud!

As much as I do like Dante & Lulu together… I would like to see Lulu get a dirty… with Johnny.

I like me some Johnny, too. Quite the bad boy.

*I would like to see Lulu get a little dirty… with Johnny.

Why, Charday? The, there will only be one detective in PC….LOL
Besides, Dante is OK. And, I like him with Lulu.

This show is such a joke, and not a funny one. Bill was not the evil pig RE-Ron has tried to write. Maybe we will be lucky and the whole show will blow up, and ABC can just start over. Dante at the foot of the stairs done in by a man old enough to be his grandfather. A cop who tells all the evidence. FrankenRon are exactly like Guza. No respect for the law. All the cops are dumb and evil and the evil killer mobsters are the hero victims. No more GH for me. The walking dead, and the godfather. Plagiarism at its best.

Right, Janet? Very campy…BTW, what’s up with Dante’s hair, anyway? ….looks like a toupee. LOL.
I do like Dante, though.
His vision is impaired by the blow on his head, so he has not really focused…he probably thinks he’s seeing things.
Are we sure this is Bill’s cadaver?
You’re right….no originality. Sonny doesn’t even come close to ” il padrino”.
Regardless, I am interested to see what happens.

Maybe the body is really Luke and fluke is Bill…maybe the body is neither Bill nor Luke but Lukes abusive father…actually it looked like a doll made of dried veggies i had seen at the local farmers market…lol

Yeah, its like Heather in the loony bin, she walks out whenever she wants when the story dictates her to do something. I really dont mind. The cops are useless BUT lets remember if they were allowed to get their man, where would half the cast be? Yes, in jail. They all broke out so lets see what crazy loophole they come up with now!

I’m always usually loving Heather, and was hoping for her to pull a knife out of that knitting bag in the Nina scene. She always manages to have a big knife, especially when it came to Carly. That knife is her character’s gestus. Well, I’m loving the scenes between Nina and Heather. Michelle and Robin work very well together…just saying.

How right you are, Timmm and Jeremy. Well said.
I love Heather also. For some inexplicable reason, her devilishly wicked being cracks me up; not at all scary. She is like a Tasmanian devil…here, there and everywhere.
When she was painting Nina’s fingernails, for a minute there, I thought Heather was using blood instead of polish…LOL.
the ‘sprinkling’ of the concoction spilling on the cell floor was a ‘fittingly nice’ touch !!

I’m really enjoying the progression of this Jake/Jason story. Even thought is is airing on the side of ridiculousness and implausibility, it’s moving at a good pace and it makes me feel like Jake’s real identity will be revealed sooner than this whole Fluke/Luke story. Speaking of which, I feel like this is definitely Fluke’s final stand, I can’t see any way the writers can continue the story even longer after this. I’m hoping by the end of February, we’ll know who Fluke is, and if he really is just a figment of Luke’s mind or a real person.

I answered you about your reply to my post, Su….but, it has yet again vanished. LOL. all I asked, jokingly, of course, was how well-learned you are on anything GH……and, did you have inside info? You seem to know every move these execs make….LOL. I was just being facetious…I always bounce stuff off you, su, right?

Everyone on this site comes across as knowing what he/she is saying. Every written opinion is sound, making perfect sense. Yes, the mystery goes on, Su, but you seem to be so self-assured that it is your way and your way only. This is not a criticism, by any means….I just wish I was able to be aware of what TPTB were doing. I suppose the “not knowing” keeps us tuning in and going back for more, regardless of the ridiculous twists and turns. I am glad you are part of this site, Su. I learn much from you, and from so many others.

@Jimmy. I’m enjoying the Jake/Jason plot as well. I have a reason…BILLY MILLER. He just has that “it” factor, that is, indeed, intangible…..so rare!!
He has been arrested…but, observe him….impassively calm. However, his eyes; his facial expressions and lack-there-of, speak volumes. He has me transfixed. He has this internal turmoil; battling these visions of himself doing exactly that of which he is being accused. Did I? Or didn’t I? From the little he knows; feels of his own character, Jake fights against any possibility that he could be such a monster. Then, again, there are these disconnected images; a puzzle where he cannot seem to put the pieces together.
It is a very compelling storyline. A struggle which any Shakespearean tragic hero goes through. More power to the writers for re-creating the tragic hero; if that was, indeed, their intent. It is certainly working for me. This is exactly how I see Jake. Billy Miller was the best choice “they” could have made. He is playing this role like a fiddle.
In the end, when his story reaches its climax, I hope the descent takes Jake/Jason straight to Elizabeth.

I am tired of the Fluke storyline as well, but Geary is a great actor! I am thinking either the dummified Luke is a figment of Fluke’s imagination OR Fluke did something w/the real Luke …or maybe the real Luke has finally gone insane & that is really Luke (whom we think of as Fluke)…wow… Anyway, I still want to see where all this goes. Also 1) Who is Nathan’s real father!? & 2) What is Rosalie’s secret? How is she really involved? I bet she could be key to all of this.

yeah, for me, I’m more interested in the secret Rosalie’s got, and how Nina and Helena know all about it. How did they learn her secret…maybe there’s a Nina and Helena connection? I’m more fascinated by the Rosalie character, than Luke/Fluke. Perhaps you’re on to something with her possibly being a key to that storyline, too.

With Rosalie’s connection to Michael, this possibly could be the start of Michael transitioning to the ‘dark side’ -that would be something! It would be understandable because of all the things he has had to endure over the years. The news about Sonny killing AJ put him over the edge. Rosalie could be important to the storyline (depending on who she is/what her secret is…)

I doubt the writers know who Nathan’s father is, Pat. They haven’t come up with a plausible sire yet. Remember what Liesl said?…..”someone so much worse than Victor”,….or something to that effect.

Rosalie is another puzzle. Again, TPTB neither know where this girl’s place is nor what her ‘real’ function is. JMO. At the moment she’s just a prop to be used later, if need be. If not, they will dispose of her as they did Rafe. Poor kid! She will eventually fade into the background, into oblivion.

Also; mummified, (or dummified, as you put it) Luke, has to be a figment of Fluke’s/Luke’s fried brain. What other explanation could there be, considering the fact that we had a glimpse of someone’s rotted corpse?

OR…. It’s just someone’s dream…ahem; nightmare. Perhaps, this is all playing out in someone’s head. Who is the craziest of the crazies on GH? HEATHER? FRANCO?….could be his tumor is back. How about Laura? Wasn’t she locked up in an asylum?….Sorry, guys, I’m just rambling. I’ve been up all night with the baby.

Yeah- definitely miss poor Rafe. The kid had potential. I think they did away w/him too fast. Scenes btwn Heather & Nina are great. Heather looks like a cat about to swallow her Nina-canary…lol! As for Nathan’s dad…someone worse than Victor-? Was thinking maybe Faison, but then that would be kind of obvious & Liesl would’ve told Faison he had a son (since he dissed the Britch.) But I was thinking Nathan’s parentage may be Jerry Jax …or maybe even Robert(?) if Liesl said it’s “worse” -she probably meant worse for HER.

@ CeeCee – I hope Rosalie comes back into the fold full speed. I can’t recall the actress’s name, however…she’s really great. She was very effectively in the introduction of Nina. I’m hoping the revelation of her secret isn’t another dragged out story. Rosalie is great addition to GH, it’s time they focus back to her and showcase this talented actress.

@CeeCee….You may be rambling due to a baby all-nighter, but I suspect you could still concoct a more cohesive and logical scenario than this convoluted Fluke caper to which we have been held hostage for far too long. That rotted corpse tied to the chair on Friday’s cliffhanger was one gross insult to the viewers too many….when it was previously mentioned here, I simply took it as a longshot theory, since everyone was trying their mightiest to come up with the most creative interpretation to the puzzling personage of Fluke, and how his maniacal miscreant had materialized. I can only hope it was a hallucination on an injured Dante’s part, or another one of seemingly endless red herrings from Cartini, because it was neither amusing nor entertaining, just nauseating and macabre….if I wanted to watch a “Nightmare on Elm Street,” then I’d locate the original film by that name! At any rate, I’m still not convinced that a DID Luke is in reality Fluke or any such nonsense. I remain firm in my belief that if this wigged-out weirdo is not Bill Eckert in the flesh, then he is another double, a long-lost twin to the real Luke…or Bill? (Even a “trans-formed” Patricia would be preferable to the idea of an evil Luke….) Given the way that Julian set up this storyline way back when with his recollections of his first introduction to the misanthropic menace, there was at some juncture another totally different, yet identical, pretender in the image of the Port Charles personage, since it would truly beggar belief that the real LLS was up to his hair plugs in this scheme years and years ago. If, by chance, that man now roaming the Haunted Star as Fluke is, in fact, the real Luke, then I suggest that he is the brainwashed product of Helena from his incarceration in that padded cell for all these past months…maybe the genuine article was actually released and returned to Chez Quartermaine after his programming was complete, which would explain why some of the previous gaffes by Fluke have now been corrected….such as finally calling Tracy “Spanky,” and occasionally displaying his typically humane, humorous aspects more reminiscent of the actual animal. That would at least make some sense…which also leads one to wonder then what has become of the physical incarnation of Fluke? Perhaps Helena has already helped him assume room temperature and placed his former earthly being in the form of that decomposed decoy in the basement or maybe she has him stashed alive somewhere in captivity….The Ice Queen seems to be the one in charge of this party, after all. In terms of honoring the history of the show, not to mention, the time-revered character of Luke, this is the only explanation that would make some semblance of sense to me, although neither of those considerations appears to necessarily matter to the current regime, so I guess we shall just have to wait and see what else they plan to throw at the wall to see if it will stick with faithful—and especially long-term—viewers. All I can add is that for those of us who grew up with Luke, the notion that Fluke could be a part of this man’s psyche is an incredulous one….whilst Lucas Lorenzo Spencer has been many things during his remarkable GH tenure, including a rogue, rebel, rascal (and even a one-time rapist) he remains at heart, a romantic, redeemable anti-hero, not a repulsive reprobate with no regard for anyone or anything save his own revolting rage for revenge. Hence, what we have seen thus far should only be the tip of this twisted tale, not a cold, calculated conclusion to the fate of one-half of the soap world’s most beloved super couples.

Lawd!!!! Luke “Fluke” done flipped out of his mind. Why is he talking to dead man in an orange jumpsuit?

I forget who suggested a ‘Psych’ copycat possibility a couple of days. Remind us, and take a bow! Plus the way Helena’s talking to Fluke there is a familiarity that makes me think Mikkos?

I did when I saw todays show! My clue was the conversations between the two Luke’s how would Bill Eckert know all this bad history concerning Luke and Bobbie’s family and then the constant references to the smell then the digging up of the grave and the chair and finally the Luke we all know would let someone keep him tied to a chair. Not a Chance!!!

It was me, Rose! I take full credit. Just kidding. It was someone called “Substitute.”

there is indeed a familiarity there. though, not sure if it is Mikkos.

The entire show is heading in a direction that I don’t like. I stopped watching it ever since Tony Geary came back. I believe, he receives too much space for his characters in this serie.

Kalle,
If you do watch, as you said- you stopped watching since Tony returned then you have no idea which direction the story is heading LOL
You need to watch and have your own opinion and not someone elses to know about anything that is happening 🙂
so far, nobody is sure what is actually going to happen- the unveiling of Fluke is still a mystery and for a soap to have a ”nobody knows” is very rare ..

February Sweeps Everyone.

Luke talks to a chair? Does that mean Fluke is really Clint Eastwood?
Seriously, of course I think Tony Geary is genius. He could read the Yellow Pages and make it riveting. However, given the quality of the writing, I think I’d rather hear him read The Yellow Pages.
Yesterday Traci told Michael that Luke became involved with the mob and Frank Smith the day Bill Eckert was shot in 94. Any GH viewer, even those who did not watch in the day, know that Luke worked for Frank Smith since 1979. This is GH History 101. Then Traci tells Michael that Sonny worked for Frank Smith. Also untrue–Sonny worked for Joe Scully and had nothing to do with immersing Luke into the mob or introducing him to Frank Smith. Traci’s re writing of history leads to Michael viciously sputtering,”There’s another life Sonny has ruined” thereby offering us a viable explanation as to why Fluke hates Sonny. This is writing at its worst and tells us that Ron is desperately trying to force feed the jigsaw puzzle while also demonstrating the truth that the writers have been making it up as they go along contrary to the head writer’s assertion otherwise.

Clint Eastwood. Chair. Lol. Yep…that was hilarious

Dear Harry..
you said;
”Yesterday Traci told Michael that Luke became involved with the mob and Frank Smith the day Bill Eckert was shot in 94. Any GH viewer, even those who did not watch in the day, know that Luke worked for Frank Smith since 1979. This is GH History 101.”
//
that is correct.. Frank was the mob back then and Luke did become involved with him back then and ‘during the time’ Luke was in with Frank, Bill was killed instead of Luke..
History is correct 🙂
(all is well and as it should be ..

and- RC presented/created this story well over a year back and he knew from day one where he was taking it..
It is great story- nobody knows ”who” who? who? who? lol
The story is full of twists and turns, and I love that!! ya gotta keep up 🙂

Sue, no, you seem to not understand. Traci’s dialogue completely rewrote GH’s history. I realize you are a new viewer but even new viewers know that Luke was involved with the mob and Frank Smith at least fifteen years before Bill Eckert was gunned down in a case of mistaken identity.
And no, Sonny did not arrive in town as Frank Smith’s henchman because he worked for Joe Scully. And no again, Sonny was not responsible for ruining Luke’s life. All of the aforementioned was wrong.
I have never seen such blatant and obvious rewriting of a soap story before. Even Jane Elliot looked a bit pained as she delivered lines that she knew were not true because she is well aware that GH viewers have long memories. That demonstrated an appalling lack of fidelity toward GH’s history and I am not the only one who feels this way. I do not care for this paint-by-number-set approach to scrip writing.

Hey Harry, well said. Thanks for being there for us long-time and loyal GH viewers. Your posts are right.

I didn’t see the scene with Tracy and Michael, but Sonny did work for Frank Smith. Perhaps “re”-immersing Luke in the mob and “re-“ntroducing him to Frank would be more accurate. From “General Hospital: The Complete Scrapbook,” in 1993: “Arranging to meet with Luke through Luke’s sister Bobbie, Damian informed Luke that his father, Frank Smith, would guarantee the Spencer family’s safety if Luke would help smuggle certain people into the country for Frank. Luke’s liaison with Frank would be Sonny Corinthos, who became Frank’s front man in Port Charles after his strip joint had closed. Luke agreed.” I remember it clearly- Sonny worked for Joe when he was younger. They brought it up again when John McBain and Joe Jr. showed up.

That’s a huge stretch Erick. It may have been a six degree of separation kind of deal which doesn’t explain the huge obsessional hatred Fluke harbors for Sonny.
And Sonny had nothing to do with the murder of Bill Eckert. Traci clearly said the day Bill was killed was when Luke first became involved in the mob. It didn’t transpire that way under that time line at all.

I just told my friend today that I could watch Tony Geary read the phone book. I may have been the only person rooting for Fluke to be a back from the dead Bill Eckert.

Regarding Tracy’s recollection to Michael, I actually thought it was perfect. The return of L&L was one of my favorite eras on the show and brought me back as a viewer (I’d given up when they “killed” Robert and Anna in 92). I will confessing to watching a bit of recently on YouTube. I’d never actually seen the episode where Bill died, but knew what had happened.

When Luke and Laura returned in 1993 the story was that they’d been on the run from Frank Smith for most of the years they spent off screen. Every time Frank’s men found them they’d take off again. They resurfaced in British Columbia in 93 with Lucky and after a very brief re-introduction they were on the run again and headed back to Port Charles. Lucky was separated from them and met Ruby, Sly Eckert and eventually Bill. When Bill tried to call the cops Lucky and Sly took off.

Luke and Laura found Bill, the three of them figured out Sly and Lucky probably went to the catacombs and L&L took off to find them. Bill eventually followed on his own and found the boys first just as Frank Smith’s goons showed up. They shot Bill, thinking he was Luke. Luke and Laura showed up and Bill died in Luke’s arms.

To keep his family safe Luke went back to working for Frank Smith under Sonny who very much worked for Frank in 93. Eventually the two broke Frank out of prison, he then went on the run. Working for Frank was the start of Luke and Sonny’s friendship, in fact Sonny warned Luke that Frank planned to kill him during the break out. In late 94 Luke tracked Frank to Puerto Rico where he killed him to save Sean Donely and Sonny took over the organization.

I tend to agree, the idea the Sonny ruined Bill’s life is a stretch, but maybe Michael’s anger has warped enough that the mere association with Frank Smith is enough to taint Sonny… He really is looking for any reason to hate him.

I can’t come up with a good reason for Fluke (assuming he’s Bill Eckert) to be after Sonny. One theory I read somewhere was that Bill would be seeking revenge on Sonny for the way he treated Brenda. Brenda’s sister Julia was one of Bill’s love interests and the argument went that he would be acting on her behalf. It was even suggested she’d taken her father’s place in the Cartel with Ashton, Faison, Jerry, and Helena. I think it’s a stretch…

I don’t remember much about the details of the Joe Scully storyline, but I do recall him being the guy who “rescued” Sonny from his abusive step-father Deke and brought him into the organization. Later when Sonny surfaced in Port Charles he owned a strip club and by the time Luke and Laura returned it became clear he was or had gone to work for Frank Smith. Scully showed up in mid-95 to challenge Sonny for Frank’s territory and so began the rotation in and out of new mobsters to challenge Sonny.

I am not familiar with all the intricacies of GH’s history, Harry. You sure know your stuff…thank you. Nonetheless, I have said a few posts ago that although I am no expert, I can easily discern when plots and twists to a storyline are being written minute by minute. There is no format. It is so obvious, it becomes frustrating. We are not stupid and we cannot be fooled.
I just wonder, at times, if the top guns read these comments. Dis they get the idea of a decomposed body (probably Bill’s) occupying the infamous chair, as firstly suggested by the substitute? ….or did they think of it all on their own?
Whether Geary will continue to be part of the cast, remains to be seen. If he does, he needs to be de-activated….as does Jake/Jason. What will happen to Helena….will she decompose, as well…LOL. this i “gotta” see ! I feel as if I’ve been holding my breath since this nonsense started….I am just “waiting to exhale”.

Hi CeeCee..
you said; ;; I can easily discern when plots and twists to a storyline are being written minute by minute. There is no format. It is so obvious, it becomes frustrating. We are not stupid and we cannot be fooled.”

Naww, that is not at all done, can not be done lol
Here is the way it goes, and nothing is minute by minute..

First; RC has to meet with the GH sponsors and give them the years lay out for the direction the stories will go giving them a window of the years stories..

And for the weekly daily stories– RC sends his synopsis to various associate writers who write all the dialogue …
The head writer writes long term story projections of up to two years. Following these story lines the head writer maps out the week scene by scene. RC has a staff of six to ten associate writers. Each writer writes one day of the week. There are breakdown writers and scriptwriters. Breakdown writers write the narrative script and the scriptwriter dialogues it. There is also a script editor who makes sure all the days track. It’s like an assembly line

RC assigns specific episodes or scenes to his writing team.
The show’s writing team discuss each episode and decide on the overall flow of the dialog before individual writers write certain sections of the script.
RC does not write dialog for all the Characters..

It is impossible to write GH minute by minute or even month by month .. 🙂

The scripts are assigned to the individual writers and when they are turned in, it is approximately 8 weeks before they air so I doubt that the writers are reading comments on posts and making it up as they go along.

Hi Harry.. 🙂
GH’s writing can not be all that bad- 🙂

The 2015 67th Annual Writers Guild of America Awards;
the daytime nominees are…

General Hospital, Written by Ron Carlivati, Anna Theresa Cascio, Suzanne Flynn, Kate Hall, Elizabeth Korte, Daniel James O’Connor, Elizabeth Page, Katherine Schock, Scott Sickles, Chris Van Etten.

Days of our Lives, writers Lorraine Broderick, David Cherrill, Carolyn Culliton, Richard Culliton, Rick Draughon, Christopher Dunn, Janet Iacobuzio, Ryan Quan, Dave Ryan, Melissa Salmons, and Christopher Whitesell.

On Valentine’s Day/February 14 we will know of GH or DOOL won..

((GH will bring it bring it home 😉

Word on the street is Jane Elliott/Tracy is not a hampy camper at all with this storyline!

Happy!

@ the substitute – yeah even Jane knows, and sees that the writing is all over the place, there’s usually not that much consistency. As much as GH leads the pack with an ensemble to die for, however, the writing on a whole is average, it’s highly over ambitious. Days of our Lives succeeds as they really know how to write effective and consistent stories.

Im so totally, on the edge of my seat… Yikes lol Sooo, loving my GH right now.. 🙂

I don’t find Geary’s acting Emmy-worthy at all here. No offense to the actor, who’s giving it his all. But to me, Emmy-caliber acting involves using real emotion and reacting with and portraying the real, deep, difficult emotions: Fear, pain, etc. This is chewing the scenery — it’s not really meant to be believable on any level — and Geary’s highly entertaining while he does it. But Emmy-worthy? No.

I hear what you’re saying, and I’m sure GH, or AG will submit himself for Lead Actor. And, I think Roger Howarth is a viable candidate that will also be included in the submission. I’m not a Franco fan, but I do believe Roger will also be pre-nominated alongside AG.

I respectfully disagree. Those scenes in the basement are very convincing. AG gets my vote.

You don’t think Geary’s showing fear and pain as the imprisoned, tortured Luke? If he showed any more I’d be calling my local police dept to save him! The man has shown nothing but pure, unadulterated emotion in both roles…complete tour de force.

The only prob with the DID theory is that whoever fluke is showed himself to Julian years ago and offered him a new life as derek wells; Luke isn’t rich, doesn’t have that kind of power and even if he did would mean he has had DID for years; none of this makes sense

And, what’s Ivy’s deal? She appears at NYE, to be Sloane’s date, but instead she’s “taken” by Prince Nicholas and becomes his date. And, nearly four weeks later, and she re-appears in today’s episode with Nicholas. I feel like maybe she’s in on it with Helena? All of a sudden Nicholas is seeing Ivy? I’m waiting for a secret meeting with Ivy and Helena, their “introduction” today…was mysterious. Is she a plant, to keep Nicholas in line? On NYE she goes from a date with Sloane, then dumps him on the spot for Nicholas? Hmmm.

Wow! Who’s in the chair? Why would it be Bill Eckert’s dead body? Who is Fluke? Does Helena know Fluke’s been talking to a dead body in the basement?

I think (though I’m ready for this to end) that this is a great story. We’re all still guessing. We don’t know.

Also–everyone assumed Sonny & Julian were going to ride to the rescue. But now what? Will the bomb go off? Will some people die?

Does Johnny know Fluke’s planted a bomb?

I cannot wait until Monday!

O.m.g!!!! So over this story,,, please please please finish it already!!!

Good news Tony is acting his you know what off; Bad news this might his swan song for GH. As for the story now we just have to find out if Luke lost his mind, suffers DID due to an abusive childhood, or was brainwashed by Helena when he was first kidnapped from the Quartermaine’s boathouse, whichever it is I hope we find out soon.

My thought is helana is brainwashing the real luke to be fluke and that is bill e dead body in the chair

picky, picky, picky–at least it is better than Erica’s unabortion on All my children. If it turns out to be bill echert it will be a bit of a let down, but the fact that people are still guessing is some good writing and Tony geary’s selling a variety of possibilities. and no soap has every had effective cops (think of how often mitch lawrence reappeared on one life to live, or billy what’s his face on amc,–) and helena’s mind control has been a theme since lucky–if a gal’s got skills let ‘er use ’em

I may be one of the few, but I have enjoyed every aspect of this storyline from the get-go. And Tony Geary, as usual, has blown me away. I think Ron Carlivati has done an excellent piece of story telling with many twists and turns. My hats are off to the both of them!

Well said, Beth. I couldn’t agree more. Lots of people complaining, as usual. I’m one of those people that, like you, has enjoyed every twist and turn of this wild roller coaster of a storyline. Tony Geary should have an 8th Emmy statue on his mantle when this is all said and done. Exceptional performance from him, as always! Can’t wait to see what happens next.

Agreed – it has been well played and written every step of the way. Great example of umbrella storytelling that involves most of the cast.

What I have really liked is the forced comradiere of Sonny and Julian in Pentonville. Add Franco, and now Ava, it’s been funny seeing them “work together,” especially in the van. Then they have to ruin it with the d*mn, overused car crash! Guess that’s the only way they can get them into GH, since that’s the name of the show. At least, for a little variety, it didn’t seem to be on the same dark road where the crashes usually occur.

I actually enjoyed the banter in the van among the jailbirds. The exchange between Franco and Ava, with a little bit of Sonny, was classic. I actually thought I saw a hint of a smile on Sonny’s expression…as if he were trying to hold back his amusement…his laughter. I think he was getting a kick out of it. I like that.

BRAVO BRAVO!!! Tony!
Tony gave us his performance of a life time..
His wish granted– to once again be a bad guy, a real bad guy..
Tony is always at his best being the dark one..
How awesome RC & FV gave Tony an exit story where he could be the good and the evile…
He will be happy to leave this as his last great performance before he retires in Amsterdam..
Tony gave a good part of his life to General Hospital..
(( people show respect (you know who you are grumpy whiners)

@ CeeCee – it was indeed fun. I watched it twice. It’s nice to see Sonny with a little bit of a sense of humor. I read the interview with him from last month how Maurice was incorporating some humor, here and there in the prison scenes, to feed off of Roger Howarth. Good call. Nice to see Sonny a little bit more free. It’s working.

CeeCee…I really liked it for the same reasons. Wish there was no crash so we could have had more of the “banter” while they drove to The Haunted Star to save the day, and thus redeem themselves, resulting in lighter/suspended sentences with community service at the new Clinic. Wish they would have kept Madeline in the loop. When else would you have all of them “in the same room” again when they weren’t trying to kill each other.

Yes, CeeCee!…I’m with you that Madeline would have made a fabulous addition to the “Pentonville Posse” escape escapade.I suppose being on the lam didn’t appeal to this high-maintenance socialite since it would’ve wreaked havoc with her impeccably immaculate hair, nails and maquillage! (As if donning that tacky orange jumpsuit weren’t enough of an indignity for this usually impossibly soignee standard of sartorial splendor!)

Fluke getting a award for boring us with this dragged out story. GH fans should get an award for trying to be patient with Fluke. It wasn’t General hospital it was a one man show. I’d always end up forwarding his scenes.

suzanna lol
there are many other stories going on besides Luke/Fluke, many..
Ava’s, Sonny’s. Jake’s, Maxie, Sam/Patrick’s, and the long list goes on..
It is your own fault if you chose to only watch the Luke/Fluke story and none of the other stories 🙂

@Rose…The “Pentonville Posse’s” escape definitely provided some welcome comic relief, although I would have liked to see Franco tossed to the side of the road once he surrendered his cellphone to Sonny. Not because I don’t enjoy RoHo….I simply would like to see him delayed in arriving at the loony bin to save “Phyllina” from Heather’s crazy clutches. As far as I’m concerned, Ms. Webber would be performing a public service if she knocked off the “Cray Clay” from the GH canvas! But I’m with you about the vehicle crash being too formulaic and predictable….oh well, it was fun while it lasted!!!!

I swear when I watch Anthony acting as two characters in the basement I forget its the same actor. Say what you want about this story, Anthony Geary is sailing off into the sunset with his eighth and final Emmy. What a career!

A classic GH cliffhanger on Friday’s episode. I loved it! Can’t wait to find out what happens on Monday. That’s when you know you’re in the middle of a good story. At least I think so, anyway. I get the complaints about the story going on too long, but that’s water under the bridge at this point, and they do seem to be getting very close to a conclusion. I’m enjoying being on this wild and crazy ride. I watch GH for an escape from real life, I don’t want it to be like real life. So the wild and crazier, the better, in my book! This storyline has been that and then some.

I like the idea of the real Luke having been brainwashed and now totally unhinged being the Fluke, (which is a word I’ll assume we know can mean serendipity or a twist of fate) all the while talking to a decomposed Bill Eckert who sits in a chair (a la Psycho). What lends some credence to the scenario is that Helena would not be able to resist visiting the real Luke in that basement while he was being held captive and tortured; and if my memory holds true, I don’t think she has once stepped foot down there. She doesn’t even seem to be concerned with what or who Fluke is hiding in the basement, and sets forth the plan to have the building demolished. I don’t think she would do that if the real Luke. were living down there.
She also hasn’t shared who her “soldier boy” is with Fluke, and does actually talk to him as though she has power over him, – he seems to listen to what she has to say.
It’s really been made too easy for us viewers to assume that the Fluke is Bill Eckert. (though that might be a ploy to help shed doubt) Still there are too many things that don’t add up and there were several other villains that were part of this story line, such as Jerry Jacks. I hope they wrap this up yesterday. I ‘ve loved AG for a long time but he is over- eating the scenery and getting on my nerves.

I’m just gobsmacked by fan recall and fan vigilance

CHEERS

I soapbox press and laud how staunch we surround

it’s treat time to be in this 5th serial

If it turns out that Luke is himself and conditioned by Helena, I think that storyline is an insult to viewers. There is no way that Luke could have been conditioned for years. Why would he and Laura have saved Lulu from Stavros. Why would Helena poison him with plutonium if she had been conditioning him.

Folks, this is why I have to watch vintage episodes of ONE LIFE TO LIVE. I keep trying to like GH but failing. No real characters to root for. Bring back Robert, Laura and have some storylines for Mac and Felecia, etc. It’s not all about the twenty somethings.

Heather and Nina:

Although I am thoroughly enjoying the scenes between Heather and Nina and LOVE the fact that “Diana Taylor” was mentioned in the script, the writers made a mistake when Heather explained her association with Diana Taylor. Georgianne LaPierre (Cher’s sister) played the first Heather, and Valerie Starrett played the original Diana Taylor. When Heather (and Jeff Weber’s) baby was sold and Diana ended up adopting him, she and her husband Peter Taylor (Craig Huebing) named the boy Peter, Jr. (“PJ” for short), NOT “Steven Lars,” as Heather stated in this episode. Heather is the one who always referred to her baby as Steven Lars, with “Steven” referencing Steve Hardy (John Beradino), who was found out to be Jeff Weber’s biological father.

I know all this because: (1) I watched GH starting in 1969; and (2) I am probably the biggest fan ever of Valerie Starrett. She played Diana Taylor from 1969 to 1977. Starrett was a beautiful, popular, great actress. The storyline of Diana and Peter Taylor was extremely popular in the 1970s. Yet she was fired by the producer at the time, and the part was recast in the form of Brooke Bundy, who played the role until 1981 when “Diana” was murdered (a very long story…).

Yet it gives me tremendous pleasure that the current GH writers have mentioned “Diana Taylor,” so I will forgive them their mixup in Heather’s baby’s name!

James…W-O-W…when it comes to watching GH, you certainly and clearly know your stuff!!!!! VERY IMPRESSIVE!!!!!

James, have a good one, buddy. Peace.

Thanks, Jay! I think it also means that I’m…not as young as most fans!

Peace to you, too, Brother!

Can we please move on to another story line please. We ve definitely been watching the same story over and over again. Maybe the writer needs a break if he can’t come up with a new story line.

hi sandra,
there are many other stories taking place, also..
Nothing in this story has been ”over and over again” lol
Fluke story is at its end and many other stories have already started,,
Anna’s firing, Jake’s identity, Patrick and Sam, Sonny and Julian, Johnny Z and Lulu, Franco and Nina and Heather, Brad and Lucas, Ava and her baby, the free clinic will open and Sabrina and Carlos will get hot, Jordan and Shawn, and the list of ”’other”’ stories ”now” in progress will move upfront..
All through the Luke and fluke story there have been ”many other stories” taking place, also.. 🙂

On a Fluke (couldn’t help myself), I googled Anthony and read an interview he did withTV Guide, June 2014. Lots of discussion on the then upcoming Fluke story, and his discussions with Ron about the idea for a story that would really interest Tony…he was getting bored playing the same old Luke character for so many years. He did make on cryptic comment…”It’s gotta be Luke who takes him (Fluke) down.” If you haven’t seen it, it’s an interesting read. Also, for the comments. Like our comments, yeas and nays re Tony/Fluke, but lots to say about Laura/Genie, much of which I agree with. Especially how like many of the GH vets she was under-used during her most recent trip back to Port Charles. And some still are.

Hi Rose..
I also read that interview..
I was mostly shocked when Tony said he quit GH and Amsterdam was waiting, so to say..
He was about 4 days from leaving when FV and RC gave him the Luke Fluke story and Tony was very excited to do it!! and he stayed on with GH..
but I do believe he will now retire 🙁

There may many opinions on the Fluke story, but I think Tony has really made the most of his role(s). So if he is really leaving, what a way to go for an actor. And best of luck and health to him for his future.

Glad it’s coming to an end. Good job luke on your 8th acting extravaganza ,hope you never leave general hospital.now it’s Jakes turn to be revealed, hurry up writers!!!!

When we will fine out how the real lucke is am glad sonny gets to stay out will he fine out he is not the father of the baby

I hope Michael will for give sonny for him to be a dad to him

General Hospital

Tristan Riggs is General Hospital’s New Aiden

Looks like there is another new actor in the younger set on General Hospital. Tristan Riggs is taking over the role of Elizabeth Webber’s (Rebecca Herbst) son, Aiden.

Previously, Enzo De Angelis played the part of Liz and Lucky’s (formerly Jonathan Jackson) son since 2021. Soap Opera Digest confirmed that Riggs is now firmly in the part.

The switch happened on today’s Thursday May 2nd episode in scenes. Recently, Aiden came out as gay to him mom after admitting his interest in one of his classmates.

Photo: ABC

As Riggs begins in the part, it looks like Aiden is being bullied at school. Elizabeth is trying to get to the bottom of things and made an appointment with school counselors to find out what’s going on, after seeing his book bag had pink paint on it.

Riggs has been acting since he was 7-year-0ld and has appeared on the TV series Walker, True Lies and Best Foot Forward to name a few.

So, what do you think of Tristan Riggs as the new Aiden? Do you hope Aiden’s story becomes more front and center? Comment below.

Juliet Donenfeld is the Temporary Recast as General Hospital’s Georgie

Those who saw the GH preview for today’s May 2nd episode were a bit confused when they saw a young actress sitting with Lois (Rena Sofer) and Violet (Jophielle Love). As it turns out, that young girl is a recast Georgie.

Juliet Donenfeld is stepping into the role temporarily replacing Lily Fisher. As viewers know, Georgie is the young daughter of Maxie (Kirsten Storms) and Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) named after Maxie’s sister, Georgie who passed away.

According to Soap Opera News, Fisher will be back soon in the part.

As for Donenfeld’s credits, she has appeared as JJ in the Netflix’s WWE series The Big Show Show,  Better Call Saul, Good Girls, Station 19, and Sydney to the Max to name but a few.

In addition, Juliet became the youngest nominee for an Annie Award, gaining recognition for voicing the character of Sally Squirrel in the Animated TV/Broadcast Production of Pete the Cat.

Watch today’s GH teaser below, and let us know your thoughts about Juliet as a recast Georgie via the comment section below.

“Daytime television invites viewers into the private lives of characters, often bringing important issues like cancer screenings into living rooms and around water coolers. Soaps debuted the first cancer storyline in 1962 – years before the topic was discussed in the mainstream, and it left an indelible impact: a whole generation of women who scheduled a potentially life-saving Pap smear for the first time,” said Daytime Stands Up host Alan Locher. “For so many viewers, this brought the issue front and center,” added co-host Michael Fairman. “Today, it’s become almost impossible to avoid; but there is hope with cancer research, thanks to organizations like Stand Up To Cancer.”

SU2C Co-Founder Sue Schwartz, SU2C President and CEO Julian Adams, Ph.D., and SU2C Health Equity Committee Member Elizabeth Jaffee, M.D., will also participate to speak to the importance of early detection, exciting scientific breakthroughs, and the ongoing work yet to be done to make screenings and treatment equitable for all.

“This year, an estimated 2 million people in the U.S. will be diagnosed with cancer, presenting an opportunity for the public to stand with us and rise to the occasion,” said Adams. “We’re thankful to Alan Locher, Michael Fairman and our friends from the daytime television community, who will raise critical funding to honor those we’ve lost – and to propel new scientific breakthroughs for current and future patients. Everyone has a story, and we’re grateful to all of you for sharing yours.”

For over 15 years, SU2C has leveraged its relationship with the entertainment community – which includes more than 1,100 celebrity ambassadors – to generate public donations, increase awareness and fund cutting-edge cancer research. SU2C research has contributed to the development of more than 10 scientific breakthroughs that have significantly impacted the field and provided new treatment options for breast, colorectal, lung, melanoma, pancreatic, pediatric and prostate cancers.
