AEW REVOLUTION 2025: ‘Timeless’ Toni Storm vs. Mariah May and Will Ospreay vs. Kyle Fletcher Steal the Show
AEW Revolution 2025 indeed brought with it a Hollywood ending, when it was broadcast live on pay-per-view, and for the first time on Prime Video on Sunday night, March 9th. Hailing from Crypto Arena in Los Angeles, California, not only were celebrities (Leslie Jones, Ken Jeong and more) out in full, but so too was the stacked card, which delivered one of the best PPV’s in AEW’s recent history.
This year’s card was headlined by the AEW World Championship battle between Jon Moxley and Adam “Cope” Copeland (the former Rated-R superstar, Edge while in WWE) and the conclusion of a year-long epic storyline involving “Timeless” Toni Storm and “The Glamour” Mariah May with the AEW Women’s World Championship on the line. Let’s take a look at some of the highlights from the best moments and matches of the night.
Swerve Strickland with Prince Nana vs. Ricochet (in the number one contender bout the AEW World Championship)
While the match revved up the crowd to an insane level, yes, you SNL alum, Leslie Jones, Strickland and Ricochet delivered a solid battle in the ring with Prince Nana walking out for a time on Strickland in the middle of the match after Swerve shoved Nana.
Later, Nana returned and made an attempt to steal back Jimmy Rave’s Embassy robe (which earlier, Ricochet wore to the ring adding his own logo to the back of it as major disrespect) from the ringside area, which helped set up the finishing maneuver for Strickland. In the end, Swerve wins the match from his sworn enemy Ricochet and now gets a shot at the title coming up at AEW Dynasty. GRADE B+

Kenny Omega vs. Konosuke Takeshita (AEW International Championship)
Kenny Omega marked his AEW PPV return with this match. This was the first since 2023, and since battling his medical issues where he had two-feet of intestine removed from a severe bout of diverticulitis. In the match, Omega overcame a concentrated effort by Takeshita to target his stomach to procure the victory.
The ever-popular Omega had one of the best entrances of the night and really had the crowd in his corner. Eventually, he beat Takeshita to win the AEW International Championship much to the chagrin of former mentor and manager, Don Callis, who now has his own stable which includes Takeshita. But will Takeshita or Callis turn on one another? Stay tuned! GRADE: A
Will Ospreay vs. Kyle Fletcher (Steel Cage Match)
This was phenomenal from start to finish. Two former best friends, tearing into each others with moves high above the cage, and within it. The blood flowed as these two went all out. Barbed wire, screwdrivers, thumbtacks were the order of the day and a Spanish Fly from the top of the cage; set up one last Hidden Blade from Ospreay and the dangerous Tiger Driver 91, that finally ended Fletcher’s night.
Ospreay should soon get the nod to carry the company’s AEW World Championship, as he is too damn good to be denied and has been a title holder for less prestigious belts within the organization Now is the time to see him elevated further given his popularity, exciting style and in-ring progress on the mic. GRADE A+

Jox Moxley vs. Cope (for the AEW World Heavyweight Championship)
Unfortunately, the final match of the night was a clunker, and certainly paled in comparison to its predecessors on the card. The match moved slow and plodding between Moxley and Cope and really didn’t generate any buzz from the fans in attendance.
Things finally looked like they were about to get interesting when after the referee is knocked out, “Death Riders” lackey, Wheeler Yuta shows up to help Moxley. However, Jay White comes out from the back to fend off Yuta and help Cope set up Moxley for some chair shots, only to have Cope’s former best friend and tag partner, Christian Cage, come out from the back and cash in his title contract. Now the match was made a fatal three-way, but in the end Moxley choked out Cage and he retained the championship. As the show went off the air, Swerve Strickland jumped off a high-perched section in the arena to crash down and take out Moxley. GRADE D
‘Timeless” Toni Storm vs “The Glamour” Mariah May (AEW Worlds Women’s Championship)
This should have been the main event, but was positioned a few matches earlier in the card. The women battled it out to give the fans the “Hollywood ending” they promised in a story ripped right from the movie All About Eve. “Timeless” Toni and “The Glamour” delivered a brutal and bloody battle that was unbelievable to watch.
Both women bleeding profusely (although Storm looked to have taken the worst of it) used steel chairs, tables, ring steps, glass, a champagne bottle and the now famous stiletto white shoe to rain blood all over each other in an attempt to take each other out. This match had it all: brilliant storytelling with a full-circle trilogy, combined with wrestling, revenge and brutality. GRADE A+

MJF vs. Hangman Adam Page
Two of AEW’s all-time stars from the organization’s very beginning, opened ‘Revolution’ with this battle of evil vs. good (although Page has been questionable in that department for many months now), but MJF is so good at being the heel, that you are forced to root for Page, who delivered move after move, showcasing his athletic prowess, which MJF was able to do at times too. Hangman used the Buckshot Lariat to procure the win in a match that had action, story, and heart all rolled into one plus it had the crowd invested in it. GRADE A-
