Chloe Lanier Debuts In Her New GH Role Of Nelle: What Were Your First Impressions?

Courtesy/ABC
This week on ABC’s General Hospital, viewers were reintroduced to talented young actress, Chloe Lanier, in her new role as Nelle.
If she looked familiar that is because Chloe was a stand-out in the Daytime Emmy Award-winning 52nd anniversary episode of the soap, in which she played a young Patricia Spencer opposite Laura Wright (Lena), Tony Geary (Luke and Tim Spencer), and Joey Luthman (Young Luke). As Nelle, viewers first met the curious young woman as she showed up at Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Carly’s (Laura Wright) saying she believes she may be the mysterious donor of Josslyn’s (Eden McCoy) kidney and found out about the search through Crimson.
Michael (Chad Duell) is also there, who shuttles Nelle outside. It is evident that there is potential romantic chemistry going on between these two characters. When Nelle has her moment to explain why she thinks she may be Josslyn’s donor to a naysaying Jax (Ingo Rademacher) and Sonny, and a more open-minded Carly, she explains how her parents took her somewhere for an operation that she didn’t need. She realized that later that operation made it easier for her to get sick very quickly. Nelle also exposed her scar to Michael, Sonny, Carly, and Jax.
Nelle, who lives in Atlanta and is looking forward to teaching kindergarten come the fall, tells the group that she realized her parents’ money problems disappeared after her operation. They have since died leaving her with absolutely no way to prove it and no answers. She tells Carly that she hopes knowing that good can come out of something bad will give her closure. After having another private conversation outside, Jax wants to pay the girl off to return to Altanta, leaving Carly and Sonny perplexed. They all decide she needs to take a DNA test to prove she is the donor, or not. Nelle is amenable to taking the test and was waiting with Carly for the test results at the hospital. In addition, Josslyn has met Nelle, not knowing who she is or why she is in town, and thinking she is a nice girl for Michael!
Already, Chloe Lanier illustrated a depth in her performance and a multi-layered character that should be interesting as the weeks and months ahead unfold for the character and her story.
But, what were your first impressions of Nelle …. and what did you think of Lanier’s performances? Would you be on board for a Michael/Nelle romance? Share your thougths in the comment section below!
I LIKE HER! SHE’S STRONG, DIRECT AND HONEST! SHE HAS GREAT CHEMISTRY WITH MICHAEL, AND WILL FIT RIGHT IN WITH THE BATTLING QUARTERMAINE AND CORINTHOS CLANS! I think she will be the perfect match for Josslyn, BECAUSE DRUMROLL… they are sisters!! I don’t think it’s an accident that they were dressed alike in red tops! Also, Jacks looks guilty as sin! That’s his daughter and he knows it!! Can’t wait to see how this plays out!!
Wow. I hadn’t thought of that. I was hoping she was a Spencer and tied in to Helena’s goose chase for Laura. I was hoping Bobbi would run into her and freak bc she looks like Patricia.
I think your explanation is more plausible, Michelle.
@Liz….The “SS Spencer” ship has already sailed….if Chloe had just been “Val” it could have worked out exactly as you described. Epic casting fail, but hey, I welcome Ms. Lanier to the GH canvas…better late than never! And finally a newbie who is both beautiful and can act!
I like her as well, Michelle. I especially appreciated the easy camaraderie between her and Joss. Perhaps Joss will be more visible from now on. This would make one compelling storyline, if handled with care.
Although it’s an interesting idea I’d be surprised if Nell turned out to be Jax’s daughter. I think in a desperate act to save Josslyn he searched for a suitable doner by any means possible, offered a huge reward and is the one that paid off her parents. He probably knew that Nell was deceived, or perhaps he found out later after her kidney was removed but paid off a lot of people to keep silent. Thus his guilt and concern about the truth coming out.
You’re right, Rebecca. Everyone shares the same ‘bed partners’, regardless of feelings or relationship. I forgot, for a minute, these characters are marionettes. LOL.
I think that makes good sense. Just wondering if she is for real, because why is she working her way into their lives. She clearly set up the nanny
I think he is freaked out because he paid the parents for the kidney transplant. He told Alexis that he needed her legal help and that he was in trouble. He is doing everything he can to stop Carley from finding the donor.
agree. LOL! noticed the red tops? And I thought Blue was the color of the day!
My 1st thought too. She is Jax’s daughter.
She could be Jax daughter with his ex Chloe Morgan
Excellent addition and love possibility for Michael. Could she be a daughter of Jax and thereby joss’ half sister ?
Of course! Perhaps this is why Jax is acting so mysteriously. Good guess, Brenda.
or Nina’s daughter!!!
@Jimh(leave it to beaver).
Well, now, Jimmy; you know that’s music to my ears. If Nell is around twenty years old, then it could be a possibility to be Nina’s daughter.
It may very well be Nell was adopted….Her parents could have been in the business of taking children in through adoption and then sell their organs. It may explain her parents’ callousness in subjecting her to remove and sell her kidney.
I am not saying adoptive parents are not good parents, because they certainly are. However, there are crazy people out there that would sell their souls to the devil for a buck.
I agree. That WOULD be cool if Nell turns out to be Nina’s! In essence, Nina, by helping Carly find the donor, will have found her own child! Great thought jimh!
@Rebecca1.
What an ironic, dramatic twist that would be, eh, Jimmy and Rebecca? And, who will be the one to discover that fact? None other than, Curtis……
@CeeCee….This desire for turning every young adult GH character into a possible Nina offspring has become a creepy pipe dream…..can we please just leave her barren once and for all, and whilst we’re at it, get her off that ridiculously obsessive baby kick? Unless, of course, she’s written off the show in search of said elusive infant in China or Africa….then I’m all in!!!!!
I THINK JAX PAID OFF THE PARENTS AND HE DOESN’T WANT AMYONE TO FIND OUT
Sounds plausible but I hope it’s not true. Who would do what happened to her to their own daughter? That would totally ruin the character of Jax for me.
fear not clh. I don’t think Jax would knowingly hurt any child let alone his daughter. And, he’d never give up his daughter for adoption. But he definitely has something to do with the “purchase.”
She could be Carly’s half sister. They could share the same father since we have never met Carly’s dad. Jax might know this connection and that adds to his guilt.
Hi Kate…she’d also be half her age but anything’s possible…
We do know who carlys dad is he was that politician .. She is not Carly’s sister she is Carly’s daughter that is why she is a match for josslyn..carly was pregnant between Michael and Morgan and it was sonny’s and drunk AJ pushed her down the stairs and supposedly she miscarried but she was pretty far along ..maybe she didn’t miscarry and she is Nell and when looking for a donor somehow Jax had found her but he hates sonny so why would he want sonny to know he had another kid but yet he’s sketchy enough to use her for josslyn’s donor..Jax has a dark side and this is it and it’s a soap opera so 7 month miscarried babies can show up .. It could happen
Love her! So happy she’s back!
Some interesting possibilities with Nell. She’s very good. Of course, the writing couldn’t have been any more obvious as to where they’re heading with this character. Hope I’m wrong and they throw us a curve ball.
i liked her. but dont know about her and Michael
I think the actress playing Nell is all right, but GH doesn’t need any more characters. I don’t think she is Jax’s daughter, but I think he bought the kidney.
Good one, as well, Wp. Jax could have very well bought the kidney from Nell’s parents and could have possibly kept track of her all this time. Hmmmm, why the secrecy? Was Jax involved in the little Jake kidnapping/debacle?
I have ‘acquainted’ myself with Mr. Jasper Jacks, and contrary to many GH aficionados’ adoration of this guy, Jax’s reputation is not so pristine. What’s he hiding?? I sense he’s hiding something. Methinks he doth protest too much.
Jax isn’t evil CeeCee. He’s a wheeler-dealer…international businessman with a very evil criminal brother Jerry Jacks. Not sure if you’re familiar with Jerry. One of the best “villains” GH has had. If you’re interested and haven’t seen it before, Google the shows when Jerry was first introduced years ago and took many hostage at the metro court. Great stuff. So, though Jax has done some questionable things he’s still a guy with a good heart. He would never be involved in kidnapping Jake…and he’s also friends with Elizabeth ( though best friends with Alexis).
You make a good point, CeeCee!!! I’m not one of those who thinks that Jax is the quintessential white-hatted hero. Definitely grey areas there….it’s just in comparison to Carly’s other deplorable spouses he smelled like a rose. But he’s always operated on the edge of law, often because of his brother Jerry’s influence…..even when he wasn’t directly involved with his escapades, he would get sucked into the action merely to try to save his family’s reputation. Hence he knows how to do the shady when push comes to shove.
@Rebecca1.
Hi, Rebecca,
Oh, I know Jax isn’t evil….that is, from what I’ve read, he seemed to use bad judgment, thus making the not-so-wise choices.
I think his cryptic behavior and guarded actions add drama to this story. Unless I have lost all my sense of instinct , Jax, somehow, knows what went down with both Joss and Lil Jake…..not in a wicked way, mind you; but, involved, nonetheless. Maybe Helena blackmailed him?
Good new characterss are fine, old dead wieght is NOT!
LOVE Jax! No, he’s not perfect but he has a code of ethics and Carly was at her best with him. Moreover, he was a damn good father to Morgan ( this was back when Morgan was played by that cute little kid who looked like Wonder Year’s Kevin Arnold). While Sonny was out killing people and living the life of a criminal, Jax was taking Morgan to Little League, taking him fishing, involving him in Boy Scouts and helping with his geometry homework. He was an ideal father figure for Morgan and they loved each other. I recall little Morgan was devastated when Jax and Carly split up because Jax was the only father he ever knew. However, the other day Morgan and Jax were in the same scene and they did not even say hello to each other, much less hug. In what world does this happen? Where’s the step father son bond which was established a decade or so ago?
In any case, loved the reunion which occurred between Alexis and Jax. Clearly, Jax was a sight for her sore eyes and ailing heart. I recall she used to call him her “favorite ex husband.”
Hey CeeCee,
Totally agree about Michael forgiving Sonny. Angered and disappointed me to no end ( kinda broke my heart for AJ too). Still, he’s a good guy and has gone through a lot. I actually think he’s good-looking as well but they gave him such a “perfect” all-around-nice guy image that it detracts from the “hot” factor. But I can imagine if he played the bad boy his look would change with his image. As for Sabrina sleeping with two brothers…let’s see:
Michael and Morgan (brothers) slept with Kiki
Sam and Alexis slept with Rick (stepdad, husband)
Carly and Bobby slept with Tony (stepdad, husband)
Ava slept with her daughter’s boyfriend
Connie and Olivia (cousins) slept with Sonny…
By the way, before Jax married Carly he was married to Sonny’s half sister
Rick and Sonny (brothers) slept with Alexis
Sooooooo…. Lol. There’s apparently something in the port Charles bylaws that demands “keeping it in the family!” So the road is open for Joe and Sabrina but they’ve GOT to put some life in their story or…you know I love the character’s goodness but they need to, which I commented on someone else’s post, give her a compelling story because she’s just “there.”
Read what Harry wrote about Jax. He’s 100 percent correct about Jax’s character and what a great father he was to Morgan (who really grew attached to him back then). I still really doubt Jax had anything to do with lil a Jake and the kidnapping. Love Jax. Did you happen to watch any clips from his early years? He’s still very good looking but he was gorgeous…long swept back blond hair…charming, debonair, accent, wealth, cultured but always his brother Jerry’s keeper which made it interesting. And yes, he was quite adept at intigue and business…no one’s fool. Wish they’d keep him on…
I agree, GH does not need any more new characters that in the end they will not write for.
The GH cast is so bloated right now that it’s hard to follow the storylines…but Chloe is one of those selective rare exceptions to the ‘no more newbies’ rule. She has great chemistry with Chad & the other actors she shared scenes with her 1st week. I like her a lot & think she’ll do well.
Now if the hospital serial killer would do her job & pick off some of the many random characters who have outlived their storylines? We’ll be back in business…
Agreed with the overflow of characters on the show right now. Top of the list of people who need to go are Amy, Valerie, Aaron, Darby, Andre and Claudette.
Chloe is a great actress and I’m glad they created this role for her. But I can’t stand the name Nelle, I really hope it’s not her real name.
You’re right, of course, Jimmy. Toss Jordan, T. J., and Parker onto the discard pile and I’ll be even happier.
Better than Jellie!
Lol, Shelly.
Amen, Shelly!!! The hospital serial killer storyline could have been so much more exciting—and effective—if it has just included some major characters in the murder mix! All the victims–save for Lucas–were people we barely or never knew….it would have been far better to actually cull the overpopulated GH herd with some nice juicy exits of the many unnecessary characters crowding Port Charles. Plus, it would make room for those rare truly worthy newbies, of which Chloe Lanier is a fine example!
Is she Nina’s daughter???…yes, the serial killer?….we both know who one of the victims should had been-lets just say Tracy could have adopted her child!!!
Yes, halfway through sweeps period and it appears the broom is broken!
Love her! Loved her then and love her now!
She’s a natural. Michael and Nell, Sabrina and Joe? Sigh…and they were so in love only yesterday… Oh well. Or…maybe she’ll be Kristina’s new crush…
“natural” seems to be the consensus on here, unlike other forced characters NINA that try too hard.
Chloe Lanier blew me away as Patricia Spencer ..
She is bursting with talent, a great addition to GH..
Looking forward to her on my screen ..
But, alas, yet ANOTHER lackluster debut–an improbable situation brought Nell to GH and she did NOT make a splash–too bad–another lost opportunity.
Does anyone remember those great entrances by new characters–for instance, John J. York as Robert Scorpio’s brother? Spectacular!
Nancy, I do remember. I believe Mac was wearing acid washed jeans.
And Frisco Jones sauntering into Port Charles with his long black leather coat and silver flask!!! Oh yeah, I remember that!
The writing was pretty heavy-handed, but Chloe did a great job pulling me in to the lackluster kidney storyline. CL seems very comfortable and at ease with the character already. Honestly, she impressed me more than I anticipated. I hope TPTB let “Nelle” develop slowly and naturally and refrain from trying to “force” the audience to love the latest new character.
Finally someone with Chemistry with Michael!!
Can’t wait to follow this storyline. I like her.
I like her and think she’s a great match for Michael, Sabrina has more chemistry with Joe.
Sabrina doesn’t seem to have chemistry with anyone.
She manages to suck the energy out of the room just from entering it. The best part of Sabrina was lost when she lost the glasses.
Please make her go away.
LOL
Touche’, Harry! TOUCHE”!!!!!!!
A snail has more energy than Saaaaaaabrina!
Thinking Claudette should go first
You are making me laugh Harry! Yes, Rapunzel needs to go away with Joe I hope!!
Along with Teduardo, Ces!
I think Jax got her kidney on the black market….cast is too bloated but i like her…as i mentioned before she would make a good Alison Mckensie if ABC did a Peyton Place reboot-this was my first soap!!!…Amy should be dropped=Felix should be the gossipy nurse!!!
I’ve been hoping Ms. Lanier would return to the show since her awesome performance in the (instantly) classic anniversary episode. This woman is a fine actress and I’m looking forward to seeing what is in store for her character. I think the chemistry between her character and Mr. Duell’s has the potential to sizzle. They look really good together.
Regardless, Michael and Sabrina is a pairing that I feel has been a snooze-fest from the get go and needs to be put out of its collective misery. Sabrina looks good with Dr. Joe, though I am highly displeased with him reverting back to looking like sleazy twin Carlos after one episode. This is a strategic blunder, Mr. Valentini, and needs to be corrected. Welcoming back Mr. Parise to the show was a great move, erasing his much-improved new look was definitely not.
She is pretty girl and I think Michael might very well be attracted to her especially if Sabrina hooks up with Carlos brother Joe.
You mean “re-hooks up”…..she’s obviously been there before! Seems to be a pattern with this chick, Sabs.
I like her. She’s a good fit for Michael. Right now there are too many unfinished story lines. What’s up with Aron?
Poor Aaron. I like him and would have liked to see a relationship between him and Kristina. I think he is as he seems, a great guy.
Agree — I like her with Michael.
Aaron who? that stupid coffee business on the pier is a waste of time. It’s obvious that Krissy would rather have Parker!
Yep, she’d rather be with Parker. That’s “obvious.” As a viewer, I like her with Aaron.
And Dylan goes all the way to the Port Charles grill just to get a cup of coffee to go.
Harry, once again on target! I was thinking the same thing @ Dillon getting coffee there! I’d be pissed if my bf constantly showed up at my workplace! Dillon & Morgan both need jobs!
If you’re talking about today Harry (Monday) he went to the metro court where Kiki works …we KNOW he still likes Kiki and Crimson’s office is there.
I thought she was really good portraying Luke’s sister, but my first impression of her as Nelle, I found her performance to be kinda flat. I don’t know if she was holding back or if I was expecting too much.
I have a feeling she’s Jax’s daughter with another woman since he was clearly hiding something when he came back.
What’s the point of jax hiding a secret daughter? He’s not with Carly, why waste time hiding a secret when you don’t owe anyone anything, why would jax be ashamed? The women in his life are the ones who have been unfaithful to him and kept secrets, not jax, so wouldn’t make sense.
While the idea that Nelle may be Jax’ spawn, the idea that a young woman would give up her kidney or blindly follow her parents into getting an operation although she is not sick is a stupid. For one thing, Jocelyn’s surgery was just 5 years ago so Nelle would have been 18, at the most, and unless part of a CULT would have argued over why she was getting surgery.
While I don’t watch GH religiously, this story has peeked my interest to the point where I am perplexed over the need to tell it. If Nelle is the donor of Jax’ young daughter and she is potentially Jax’ older daughter, then why is the character of Jax being jettisoned out of town as opposed to now figuring in how to reintroduce such a great character to the canvas again.
What will happen when the character is written off? Will the adult Nelle – approximately 23 years of age with a teaching job lined up for September (its august) in Atlanta teaching Kindergarten – just opt to stay in town? Sorry, I don’t buy it and truly understand why ratings are not great and why I don’t religiously watch the show.
I don’t think she’s Jax’s daughter; Jax would never abandon or hurt his own child. I think, as I posted at the beginning of this thread (as did a few others) that he bought the kidney either off the black market or , U personalky think he could have put out a search of his own, found a needy family and offered them a ton of money. I’ m not sure if he was aware that her parents tricked her…since the operation was “shady” Nell didn’t t follow blindly. I thought she said she was 15, they told her she was sick…I could be wrong. But how could she have fought for herself? She trusted her parents and before she knew what was happening they put her under anesthesia and she woke up to the horror.
It may have been 5 years ago in the real world, but I doubt GH will tell you it was 5 years ago in soap world. 🙂
I thought about that, as well. I’m waiting for soaps to age a character and forget they were born after their older sibling and now they are older. LOL
The main point for me with GH is make it worth while to bring legacy characters back and not for 6 months. Robin is prime example as is Jax. Not worth returning if I’m sure they are out of the show in 6 months.
I think he paid for the kidney but it would be interesting if she was a relative.
She’s lovely! But. Wait. Does this mean they’re dumping Theresa Castillo?
I doubt…looks like she’ all be involved with “Joe”.
Whew! I’m glad. I like her. She’s such a refreshing character. And I’m so glad they found a way to keep Jeffrey Parise. He’s outstanding!!!
hope so, she ran her course.
Yes, Ces…..about two years ago!
I don’t think so. I enjoy her.
Yes Shay! I’d say @ the time she left when Patrick chose Robin should have been her cue to leave the show.
Isn’t great to disagree, Ces? LOL. I agree with tinafg. I do not mind Sabrina. She’s ok.
We all have our faves….such as Michelle Stafford. I only hope ‘they’ steer Nina in the right direction….enough with the ‘crazy, dumb broad’ thing…..( not my words; my Gran’s..LOL).
Yes, Shay and Ces, she lost me at hello.
I have a robo vacuum which is more exciting than Sabrina is, but still, doesn’t suck as much as she does.
Hi tinafg…there’s always debates on characters…stand your ground. Lol. I like Sabrina too. There are a handful who right from the start didn’t trust her, she was manipulative, she was using Emma to get to Patrick, etc. It was ridiculous. I agree with you. She’s a nice balance…a “refreshing character” as you say and the canvas needs that. But to be honest as much as I like the character her stories don’t draw me in. If they are to keep her I think they’ve got to have her involved in a dynamic storyline or connect her to more people.
Later!
Lol Harry!! Good one.
Yes….. Everyone has a right to their opinions on characters. I’m just saying I find Sabrina to be pointless.
Yes, I understand Ces. She has become so, unfortunately. My point was that there were one or two who thought she was a user, a manipulator, she used Emma, etc, etc which honestly, was absurd to me. We can all agree to disagree on whether we LIKE a character, but it strikes me odd at times when viewers interpret things about characters that just aren’t there. But of course, as said, we all have our likes and dislikes. I can imagine how difficult it is for the writers when opinions are do divided. However, they really should take a hint when the majority agrees…as in the case with wanting our many long lost vets.
Fair enough, Rebecca! It might have been difficult to write for her lately since she was pregnant and ultimately going on maternity leave. Also, in her defense, they have a LARGE cast and it’s difficult to write for everyone. But, if she’s to be a strong character, they need to give her a story, not have her be in the background. Hopefully, this pairing with Jeffrey Parise will work. I adore him and I’m sooooo glad they found a way to bring him back.
I agree tinafg. I have a feeling the writers are going to gage how well the viewers take to Parise’s new character ( so far he doesn’t thrill me) and if they can come up with a compelling story for the two of them. We shall see…
Let’s hope it works!!!!
First impressions? Second and third, don’t matter, she is a keeper! This is one good example why you DO welcome new characters! She can act circles around half of the current cast, she brought Michael to life and her and Joss were cute together! Needless to say, I’m loving Nelle!
I agree with you, Timm.
Not sure how Nelle is connected yet, but really like they found a character for Chloe on GH. Like others, I was so impressed with her as young Patricia. Don’t know what this is going to mean for Sabrina, who I also like. Because there is an attraction between Nelle and Michael. They just don’t know it yet. Now if they could find a spot for Nick Stabile, and Carlos/Joe I’d like that, too. But here’s the conundrum as others have noted…already too many characters, unresolved/unrelated stories, and not enough time devoted to popular stories and characters, like Laura, Kevin, Tracey, And this is with Anna on vacation.
Agree and agree. It looks like they’ll probably pair Sabrina with Joe. People fall in and out of love very easily on GH.
She’s great – a breath of fresh air!
I like her, But keep her away from Michael. I would like Sabrina and Michael together as well as finding out that her son Teddy is really Michaels due to a switch in test results!
Epic fail as a rewrite so we make Jax a bad guy! Yawn
Just don’t get this bunch we have aged Josselyn or whatever her name is to unbelievable age just mind boggling she was a baby now she is older then Jake??
And Emma remains in “real time!” Go figure.
She definitely had a natural ease in front of the camera but let’s be honest — has anybody had real chemistry with Michael? As for that name…um, no. When I hear Nelle all I think of is Jodie Foster saying “chicka, chicka, chickabee.”
And of course no matter how talented she is, she still has the problem of getting lost in that cast of thousands all with no clearly defined stories and all fighting for screen time…
LOL. I must agree, Alan…as usual, your point is well taken. It seems Michael never ages….he looks the same….with his puppy eyes begging for a treat.
The name ‘Nell’ is so passe’ (and why is there an ‘e’ at the end of it?), I actually think of the OLD WEST and saloons. The name does not fit the ‘age’ somehow.
Nonetheless, the character is addictive, and lovely. Also, as I have previously stated, something special is very much alive and vibrant between her and Joss.
Jax? Iffy to me; and not in a good way. He reeks of, “I’m buried in this muck up to my neck”.
No worse name on canvas than KIKI!
You’re right, CeeCee…I thought that name blew out of favor with The Dust Bowl! About the only person I’ve heard of to be named that in modern history is one of Paul Newman’s daughters with Joanne Woodward!
Well, there was also that abysmal movie called, “Nell” which starred Jodie Foster.
Celia…I also find no big spark between Michael and Sabrina like I do with him and Nelle…and I’m a supporter of Sabrina. My instinct says the real story, whether he’s a good or bad “Joe,” is going to be between her and Joe/Carlos. You do wonder where they pull these names for characters from. Never liked the name Kiki.
I’ve always liked Michael…he had great scenes with Steve Burton, Sean Kanan…all of them. I thought he was great with the prostitute with the heart of gold he fell in love withvafter he got out of jail…can’t remember the name of the character or actress but they were great together.
Abby!
I like Michael, as well, Rebecca, albeit he turned Benedict Arnold on his bio Dad. I wish he were not so bland. Perhaps it’s because I see no spark between him and Sabrina. I think TPTB are trying too hard ( second time around) pushing these two together.
I saw more connection between Sabrina and Carlos. If Joe sticks around, time will tell if he and she mesh.
However, If a relationship between Joe and Sabrina comes to pass, I will find it somewhat goss….you know; two brothers with the same woman? I know, I know, it’s fiction. LOL.
CeeCee, I replied to you up above under the Jax comment.
Yes for Michael and Nelle! Enough of trying to make something for Sabrina and Michael. There is nothing there – NO chemistry whatsoever! Chad Duell is being wasted in his role – I never thought that would happen as he came on like a gangbuster when he first began. Give him something to work with.
couldn’t agree more!
Maybe Nell is Jerry Jacks daughter! Then Josslyn and her would be cousins. Jerry Jacks was always helping Helena doing bad stuff. Remember when they made Robin help them.
I think you are right! Or at least Jerry without her permission had it removed for Joss.
Hate new characters, but I’ll take this refreshing “natural” actress over 2 handfuls of the stupid ones forced down our throats: SABRINA, NINA, Claudette, Nathan, Griffin, Aaron, JORDAN, Andre, Curtis and Carlos the 2nd!
Also, she looks like Diane Lane 😉
I hear what you’re saying…but different characters different temperament.
Oh, my gosh, Ces. She DOES look like Diane Lane. I took a closer look. They could be mother and daughter….so uncanny!!
Yes, I agree…she does look like Diane Lane! And Tamara Braun as Mika pointed out.
All those characters are ffwd worthy.
Celia, I was trying to fugure out who she looked like. Such a natural unpretentious look. Hope Mikey gets her as a love interest!
You put it so well, Ces!!!! Love your “Carlos the 2nd!” Hah! The only place we part company is on Griffin….he is a keeper! Good looking, able to act and has a logical place on the canvas as Duke’s son and a supportive character for Anna! Sort of the male equivalent of Chloe’s Nelle. (Although I could do without his part in the Claudette caper…..that had reduced his “good guy” credibility in my mind.)
Well, we can’t agree on everything. Haha!! Of course with the over bloated cast, it might be another 2 years before they actually tell Griffin’s whole story.
What you said and more, Shay. I think Claudette will prove to be another nut-case. TPTB are doing to Bree what they did to Michelle.
Claudette will have a split-personality ( her other personality’s name is Laurette…LOL), in love with both Nathan and Griffin.
But, Ces does have a point…..dragging both Nathan’s and Griffin’s story indefinitely.
Who ate they, really. I still don’t believe Griffin is Duke’s son. But, I do believe Nathan’s is Valentin’s. I had also said that the cop and the doctor could be brothers. My mind does have a tendency to gallop. LOL.
Furthermore, Shay, you had mentioned that Nathan’s conception was the result of a violent act by Valentin on Liesl. That could prove to be such a powerful storyline, if only TPTB would pick it up. Later, carina.
@CeeCee….True….and just what GH needs, another nutcase!!!! We’re doing so well with the last one….she’s still wandering around Port Charles in desperate search for her own niche and persona! I hope you’re wrong on the dual-identity notion for Claudette….we’ve been there, done that with Connie-Kate, and quite frankly, no one could surpass Kelly Sullivan’s excellent efforts in that respect, so why even go there again? As for desiring both Nathan and Griff??? Talk about wanting one’s cake and eating it, too!!!! There are already too few attractive, eligible types on the GH canvas….only one per customer, please! (While supplies last….) In terms of Nathan’s paternity, who else could his daddy be but Valentin? (Unless it’s Raymond Berlin, who apparently is NOT the father of Rachel Berlin….) It’s the only explanation that makes sense at this point, and why I’ve maintained that Liesl was raped by this vile creature….her terrified reaction to the mere mention of him is so wholly uncharacteristic for her. This is a woman who did the dance with all sorts of evil freaks like Faison and assorted Cassadines….she was in her glory whilst dealing with the criminal likes of Jerry Jacks and Helena….for her to be so spooked by a man, there is only one viable reason, and it would seem to be that she did not willingly participate in her son’s conception….or was at the very least tricked into the situation, albeit that sounds highly doubtful given that Dr. O. is quite canny!!! Oh, and how about this…what if Griff and Nathan are really twins, perhaps unbeknownst to the good doctor/priest himself who honestly does believe he’s Duke’s progeny???? I just don’t think that he’s lying about his parentage as far as he is aware….hmmm.
I agree, Shay. Griffin is not lying about his parentage. He does believe he is Duke’s son. I just think there’s more to it than that.
And, speaking of ‘doing the dance’, one of my favorite expressions of lovemaking ( better than doing ‘the nasty’ expression), after a time, everyone in PC will be related, in some way.
My point about Bree is that; she is one of my favorite soap stars….loved her as Jessica/Tess ( alternate personality). Again, I was trying to apply satirical irony. I guess it didn’t work. HA!!
Hmmm, is right!!
Well, two years…or the twelfth of never! Same difference on GH, Ces! When Griffin first appeared, I thought he was conning Anna with his claim to being Duke’s son, now I’m not so sure. With all the details currently coming out about his past, I don’t now what he’d have to gain…there’s no fortune to be had and Anna is out of the picture whilst Griff’s previous activities come to the fore. Once again, the ball has been dropped to move on to another plot before a real resolution or explanation has been fully provided for an existing storyline….a very annoying and regular habit on this particular soap. Are the other three this bad???? I don’t watch them, so I cannot say.
She reminded me a lot of Carly in many ways. Probably because I saw a slight resemblance to Carly #2 Tamara Braun.
I see it too. Always loved Tamara Braun’s look.
Yeah, she looks like Tamara. Bring her back as Carly
Tamara Braun can come back as a new character, like Sarah brown did as Claudia Zachara heck bring back Sarah brown back too.
Exactly what i tought! Image if Tanara was still playing Carly ….
omg, here we go again, with the cast is to big, over bloated ect, seem like people love to complain about the same thing over and over again . i’m loving the new addition, i think the young actress is talented, i’ve heard people mention she should’ve been a spencer, but when the only young guys on the show are already spencers it leaves very limited option for love interest. The other one of her being Jax daughter doesn’t quite fly either, mainly because why would jax favor one child over the other, and put one in danger to save the other? doesn’t add up is all i’m saying.
as long as they ( GH ) don’t mess with the character of Jax…. at the expense of propping Sonny and Carly… I can let this go
outside of that : I think this gal is a natural…
AND … I actually saw some chemistry with Michael , right out of the gate. SO… and that’s a big sigh of… discontent… Michael character is not one of my faves…
2 ps’
1. I am LOVING Dr. Joe… if it’s with Sabrina… GH goes with… so be it… all the actors on GH are better for his REEL
2. I think this gal has that fresh faced ingénue heroine in the making… ala : Christie Clark… ex-Carrie DAYS of OUR Lives
you deserve this opportunity
I hope you end up in Aaron orbit…
I think she’s Carly’s daughter and she gave her up before coming to PC 😉
That would be a familiar twist to what happened between Bobbie and Carly.
That’s an interesting theory, but why would Jax be so eager to hide the identity of Carly’s long lost daughter???? Everyone in Port Charles knows that his ex-wife was always a huge hussy, so having an illegitimate child would come as absolutely no surprise to anyone. And if Carly allowed Joss’s health to suffer all the while knowing she had another offspring out there that could have saved her– yet did nothing in order to to cover up her past as an unwed mother—what does that say about her????
Chloe Lanier…what a find! She has brought a whole new game to the canvas of GH. She shows intense emotion and an instant, wonderful chemistry with the current cast. I hope that GH has a wonderful story for her to remain a part of because this young lady will be an acting icon very soon.
Lol Shay!! Yes!! She needs to go and take new-Carlos with her!
New Carlos/Old Carlos….same difference! Yep, they need to go, Ces!!!!
I like the actress. I think she is a cute and talented young lady.
I could care less about the Joslyn transplant storyline, as I think it is ridiculous how TPTB did a complete 180 of the original storyline. Also, nu-Joslyn needs to be recast. The actress is way too over the top and in your face. Her acting is a little forced and it seems as though she is trying out for Broadway with her facial expressions and tone.
I think we are about to see something special with Ms. lanier. There is some Tamara Bruan-ish about her, with a hint of Sarah Brown. She’s just uniquely different and it works!
Yes Ck, a few of us have mentioned (above) that as well. Seems like we’re getting lookalikes these past few weeks. Many of us us thought Nick Stabile looked like Sean Kanan.
Not her looks, it’s her stage presence that mimics Tamara. I’m impressed that she can play and hang with the veterans too. You can see that Maurice and Laura enjoy their scenes with her. She is a hidden treasure waiting to be explored!
Ah…Interesting; I think most of us were referring to her looks. Tamara played a “tough” chick in a very unique way. She just exuded femme fatale…her model- thin body, the way she crossed her arms, smirked, raised an eyebrow, laughed. I don’t see that in Chloe…yet. Never know…. But I think we all agree, she’s very good.
A missed opportunity though for a KIki recast!
I love the current Kiki!
Oooh, hadnt thought @ that. They need to change KiKi’s name. So grating!
I don’t know. I agree that Jax is typically not someone to abandon his child, but he was suddenly so relieved and positively genial once he knew there would be no kidney biopsy. He actually smiled and was nice to Eden! Somehow his stress level dropped greatly. The biopsy would presumably give them DNA information. Yes, it may have also led to proof of his role in the organ procurement. I’m just not certain that’s the full extent of his involvement. I was ready to believe the secret was that he had moved heaven and hell to find a suitable kidney at any price and by any means. Of course, as was said, Jerry Jax would have the black market connections. I also love the idea of it being Nina’s child! Yes, I like the current Kiki too. I was never a big fan of the Alderson girl from OLTL. Morgan is seriously annoying me, particularly his assumptions about his relationship with Kiki. I like the idea of Kiki and Dylan.
I noticed the decreased stress level too, Patricia. But I still don’t think Jax would abandon his child, subject her to harm and certainly she’d be taken care of financially even by a secret benefactor. No, I think this has something to do with Jax and how he came by the kidney. (on a real stretch but less so maybe she’s Jerry’s and Jax found out about her…but still…same loyalty would apply to his niece). Not sure which is what makes it interesting…even though I’m leaning toward my previous comments throughout this page. Regardless, I’m just so happy to have Jax back!
I agree, Rebecca, he would take care of his child regardless. It just seems like he is hiding something else as well. Of course, there is no level to which Jerry would not sink. It is interesting regardless. Yes, I am thrilled he is back! I love Ingo and the character. I hope he stays longer, but I’d rather have him for a while than not at all.
I agree with all who like Chloe Lanier. She can act and is interesting to watch. I hope she stays around.
Why is it lately that Sam and Jason mumble so much, Ive rewind itand lis t en several times and cantfigure what their saying
On a separate note, it seems a few don’t like the name Nell. I kinda like it BECAUSE it’s not common today. I looked it up and one of its meaning’s is “bright, shining star” which actually describes the actress and perhaps the character too. But Nell has a romanticism about it to me, something away far removed from today’s craziness…
Nelly Furtado does okay! Nell…short for Penelope. Never liked that name until Penelope Cruz. And then there’s Chloe, the actress’s real name. Always loved that one!
I don’t mind her, but the cast of this show is just too large, they need less not more. We go weeks, months without seeing some of our favourites and then we see constant newbies on screen.
If she continues to play the part so blandly and then paired with bland Michael then I’m afraid it’s a no
I liked her immediately. I keep thinking she looked familiar but I had no idea she has played “young Patricia”. I remember now how good she was then. I’m so glad to see she joined GH and I do hope that she and Michael get together. I love Sabrina but never cared for her with Michael. Really I wish she and Patrick had stayed together but sadly his character is gone now. So glad Vincent Parise is back again. Hopefully he will be a good match for Sabrina.
I would really like to know when Mayor Lomax is going to be found out about and the fact that the ballot box was tampered with so that Felicia can become Mayor and get a star role again and Robert Scorpio helping in making that happen. I would also like to know when they will be showing more of the kids on the show since they are a huge part of the show. They use to show kids playing at the house while the grown ups were having conversations. Monica has been on the show the longest, when are they going to really show her Grandma side, she learned from the best Lila Quartermaine! Family in every sense of the word was the foundation of General Hospital. There was the Hardys, Webbers, Kellys, Quartermaines, Cassadines, Spencers, Baldwins, Scorpios, Wards, Corinthos’, the list could go on…..
I think this girl is going to do to Carly what Carly did to her Mom years ago I think she is Carlly’s daughter but not Sonny’s just a wild guess !
I think it is a child she gave up before she came to Port Charles to destroy her mothers life. Since we are rewriting history and Jax somehow found out could be wrong but that would be the story I would write.
The actress that plays Nelle bares a striking resemblance to Carly #2 (Tamara Braun)
The resemblance is eerie. She also delivers a scene similar to how Tamara Braun did during her
GH run.
I thinks is something she’s not telling everyone.
I’m wondering if she’s Bobbie’s and Jerry’s…they were together about that long ago and Bobbie would have been 40ish…

‘General Hospital’s’ Dominic Zamprogna Shares He Was ‘Happy to Hear’ of The Triangle Storyline Developing Between Dante/Elizabeth/Ric

General Hospital’s Dominic Zamprogna (Dante Falconeri) opened up about the burgeoning love triangle forming between his Port Charles alter-go, Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) and Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) after recently aired scenes, plus his hopes for the future of a Dante and Liz pairing, during his appearance on the Sunday, April 23 edition of the That’s Awesome podcast with Steve Burton (Jason Morgan) and Bradford Anderson (Spinelli).
On last week’s episodes of GH, Ric has made the decision that he wanted to propose to his ex-wife, only when he showed up at Elizabeth’s front door, he misread the scenario he walked in with Liz tending to Dante’s injured leg from the softball game. From there, the legal eagle’s jealous streak is reemerging which may cause him to act out and do something unforgivable, or will he take the high road? Stay tuned.
Speaking with Steve Burton and Bradford Anderson about where Elizabeth stands in the annals of the long-running soap, Zamprogna said, “She’s up there with Steve and Maurice (Maurice Benard) as one of the most legacy-filled people on the show.”

HOW DANTE AND ELIZABETH CAME ABOUT
Dominic jokes it’s a far cry for where Dante and Elizabeth previously, recalling, “We had some scenes together years ago and we were both laughing. Becky’s like, ‘Well, I guess we’re not going be paired up anytime soon.’ I remember we laughed immediately after they yelled ‘cut,”‘and said to each other, ‘Well, so much for that!'”
Fast-forward to early 2025 and as Zamprogna remembered it, “Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) came up to me at the General Hospital Christmas party, and I think it was a year and a half ago and she said, ‘We’re going to have you in scenes with Elizabeth,’ My internal monologue is going, ‘I’m not with Lulu (Alexa Havins) anymore and Sam’s (Kelly Monaco) gone, so maybe they want to see if this works.’ I didn’t want to get scenes with Becky and try to find the chemistry. I just wanted to play whatever honestly was written and came across for both of us and hope it was what people liked, and I don’t know if it is … or not.”
Knowing how beloved Elizabeth is to the GH faithfuls, Zamprogna added, “She got a big fan base with Ric … and a big fan base with with Jason … and you know, you’re going to piss somebody off. But, didn’t Ric drug Elizabeth and put Carly in a panic room?”

DANTE AND ELIZABETH PAIRING COULD STIR UP STORY FOR OTHERS IN PORT CHARLES
In closing, Dominic felt that the wide-reaching tentacles of a Dante and Elizabeth relationship is something he is 100% down for. “The triangle thing; I was happy to hear it was with Ric and her, because I felt it’s important to have her the top of it as opposed to Dante, Lulu and Elizabeth.”
Zamprogna added, “When you get into relationships on a soap, things seem to fizzle out a little bit, The buildup is what’s the fun part, and the getting to know each other, and the people who are affected by this coming together. When with this case it’s going to affect: Ric, Sonny, Lulu. There’s so much more story here. To me, it’s going to be a fun story to play.”

GH and OLTL Alum Patrick J. Gibbons Reveals the Story Behind Writing Trina’s Song on ‘General Hospital’ (Exclusive)

At the conclusion of today’s August 21 episode of General Hospital, Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) sings a lullaby to baby Dez, that went into a montage to close out the episode as her father Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) reports to Pentonville and winds up in his jail cell.
However, in a fun fact, the song entitled, “A Lonely Heart To Give” was actually written by none other than former One Life to Live and General Hospital actor, Patrick J. Gibbons.
Daytime fans first met Gibbons as Sam Manning on One Life to Live. At the time, when he started on the soap, he was just 5-years-old. Gibbons played the part from 2010-2013 on ABC and Prospect Park’s editions of the show. Fast-forward to 2018, Gibbons shows up on General Hospital as Wyatt Hoover, the scout who seemed always be injured, but in the thick of the drama. Patrick had appeared on GH multiple times as Wyatt including: 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023.

FROM HIS GRANDMOTHER’S DEATH CAME THE INSPIRATION FOR HIS SONG
Now in 2026, General Hospital fans are getting to learn about another side of Gibbons’ talent as a songwriter and guitar player after “A Lonely Heart to Give” debuted today! Michael Fairman TV caught up with Patrick, who is now a senior at Penn State entering his final year as a finance major, to get the back-story of how his song wound up on GH!
Gibbons explained he wrote the song in honor of his grandmother who passed away a few years ago with whom he was, very, very close with. “Randomly, my grandmother had a downfall and passed away during the second semester of my sophomore year. I was in my dorm a lot and I was just playing with my guitar. And at the time, I was really into finger-style playing. I wrote the lyric and music to it (with a little help from my guitar teacher Lou), and my mom showed the rough demo to Frank Valentini (EP, General Hospital). He’s like an uncle to me. Frank loved it so much he said, “Finish that up. I want to hear the whole thing, and I want it on the show.”
MAKING MUSIC FOR GENERAL HOSPITAL
Gibbons and his parents took the next steps! “So now, all we needed was a female voice, because I thought that would fit the song well,” Patrick shared. “At the golf club we go to my parents were at a dinner. They liked the singer that was performing and spoke to her about the song, and she says she would like to bring it to her ‘boss’ who ended up being Eric Bazilian of the Hooters fame!” (Bazilian also wrote the smash hit song “One of Us” for Joan Osborne).
Next, “We went in the studio and recorded it and the song came together and it was beautiful. We loved it. They loved it at General Hospital and now they’re putting it the show and they are coming in with a piano, instead of a guitar. Paul Glass, the GH musical director, has been keeping us updated over the last six months of how it was coming along, and when it would air, and how GH put their own arrangement to it. I can’t wait to see and hear what they did with it.”

PATRICK’S ONE LIFE TO LIVE FAMILY
Everyone knows that the One Life to Live extended family share a very tight bond, and Patrick said he does stay in touch with a few of his former One Life to Live co-stars, especially those from the Manning family! “I stayed in touch with Kassie DePaiva (ex-Blair) and sent her little videos here and there. She was like my second mom for five years. We keep in contact with Kristen Alderson (ex-Starr) over X the most, and she can’t believe how big I’ve gotten. Like, none of them can! (laughs). I also loved working with Roger Howarth (ex-Todd) and Trevor St. John (ex-Todd and Victor Jr.), and to me since I was so young, they were just my friends, ‘Roger and Trevor,’ not Todd Manning or Victor Jr.”
It was a trip to California and a visit to Port Charles that ultimately led to Gibbons second soap role of Wyatt Hoover. Patrick explains, “In 2016, Frank Valentini invited us out to Los Angeles to visit the set of General Hospital. I think he heard me say, ‘This is so much fun. I miss being on the set.’ He goes, ‘You should come out. I’ll bring you on the show. We can make you a character.'”
A few years later, Patrick’s dream became a reality! “Then, by the summer of 2018, I was playing Wyatt, the scout, and shared scenes with Wes Ramsey (Peter August), and the best was when I shared a scene with Roger Howarth and Michael Easton (ex-John, OLTL and ex-Silas, Finn et al, GH), it was like chemistry from the old days.”

IT’S ALL IN THE NUMBERS
As to his future aspirations, it’s a career in the finance game that has piqued Gibbons’ real-life interest. But never say never to a return to acting. Patrick explained, “I’ve always enjoyed numbers. And on top of that, one of the biggest parts of finance is being personable and outgoing.”
He continued, “That’s one of the greatest skills I developed growing up. I really love the markets. I’m super interested. I’m never going to close the door to acting. I’m always open to that because I just love it so much. It’s such a great art.”
Take note! If there are any investment bankers or private equity folks among the GH faithful looking for a young analyst next year, Patrick’s DMs are open. You can find him on X at @PatrickJGibbons.”
So, what did you think of the song sung by Trina on today’s GH that was written by Patrick J. Gibbons? Did you enjoy Patrick’s performances as One Life’s Sam and GH’s Wyatt? Would you like to see him back on GH at some point? Let us know via the comment section.

‘General Hospital’ Alum Chad Duell Admits That He Didn’t Expect the Role of Michael Corinthos to be Recast, and Would Consider Working on Another Soap (Exclusive)

Chad Duell, the Daytime Emmy-winning actor, who stepped away from the pivotal role of Michael Corinthos on General Hospital, opened up about: his previous decision to leave the series after nearly 15 years, where’s he’s at now after time away from the demands of a daytime soap opera, and took a stroll down memory lane with some of Michael’s most-acclaimed storyline during his run, during a livestream chat on August 19 on You Tube’s Michael Fairman Channel.
Viewers last saw Duell on-screen as Michael in January of 2025, and with his successor in the role, Rory Gibson making his debut at the GH Nurses’ Ball in episodes that aired later in May. It was clear that during the conversation, Chad was a bit surprised that the GH brass decided to recast him when he thought he was just taking some much needed time off.
Burn-out of the daily grind of being on a soap was definitely a part of Chad’s decision to take a break. Duell explained “People know when you’re doing something for so long or your character is kind of in the same place for so long or doing the same stuff over and over again, you do get a a little burnt out, you get a little stiff, stale, a little stiff at times. I didn’t want that to be any sort of lasting impression. I have 15 years of a body of work of I’ve done on that show, which is fantastic.”

WHILE CHAD WAS AWAY GH RECAST MICHAEL CORINTHOS WITH RORY GIBSON
Chad shared, his mindset when leaving GH was, “I’m taking some time away, we’ll see what happens.” Then he added, “Obviously, they decided to go in a different direction with Michael when I was gone. I didn’t think they were going to bring somebody back in my place. But you know, it’s the business. You never know what can happen.”
Duell also shared he has not watched a single episode of General Hospital since he left the series, but now feels he reenergized following the loss of his father and stepping away from the GH, “I’m in a place now mentally, where I’m ready to sink my teeth into it again.”

Courtesy/ABC
Even though he is no longer Michael on GH, Chad was very happy with his final storyline where Michael was set on fire when a bomb exploded at Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) penthouse. “It was fun to put him in a dangerous situation, because I was wanting Michael to be in something scary instead of trying to be a hero character or just things happening around him, but to be the center point of tragedy happening to him. (I always saw) Michael as the heart of the (Corinthos) family.”
When Michael was badly burned the show chose not burn his face, which normally a soap does when they are recasting role and switching actors. Chad weighed-in, “They didn’t burn my face because I told Frank Valentini (EP, GH) I’m willing to come back. It was just a little bit of a break. So, I assumed that if they would have burned my face, they could have brought somebody back looking different than me… if that’s what their plan was.”

MEMORABLE MICHAEL STORYLINES
One of Chad’s most memorable performances was the in the storyline of Michael’s rape while he was sentenced to prison in 2010 and the confession of it in 2011. “It was so well-written and I was very nervous,” recalled Chad. “When I get really nervous about something, it ends up being really good when I do it, because it just means I care a lot about it”
“I have to put a lot of effort and work into it, and I really want it to be good. I was working with Dominic Zamprogna (Dante) and Steve Burton (Jason) a lot during those scenes, and Laura Wright (Carly). It was great working with Steve and Dominic, especially, during that storyline.
A NEW SOAP ROLE FOR CHAD?
As to a future soap opera role, Chad is open to the idea and would love to jump back in to a juicy role, “I know people over at The Bold and the Beautiful, and The Young and the Restless. They know that if they’re interested, I would love to come in for a screen test or something, and they can see what I’m doing.”
Meanwhile, Chad has been busy putting out new music under the moniker Duelly and during the interview he explains how he creates his EDM tracks and much more. You can stream his latest single, Static in the Quiet Room on Spotify, Apple Music and You Tube Music.
You can check out the full conversation with Chad Duell below.
Now let us know: what show would you like to see Chad cast on down the line? BTG, DAYS, B&B, Y&R, or a new role on GH? What did you think of his thoughts on the casting switch while he was away in the role of Michael? What was your favorite Michael storyline during Chad’s 15-year run on the ABC soap opera?
