I hope GH submitted a dramatic episode as the other show they were able to submit for consideration, to balance things out. Like the show when Oscar died. I absolutely loved the Christmas Carol show, but I seem to recall them not doing too well in the past when they submitted gimmicky episodes, like the years when they submitted shows from the Nurses Ball. The years they won for Best Drama, I think it was for more dramatic, emotional material. I don’t know that the “variety show” type stuff plays that well with the Emmy voters.

I am really disappointed that GH submitted the Christmas carol episode as one of it’s two episodes; the other episode, Oscar’s death, was the very best episode on daytime last year. I am hoping GH can win despite such a poor second episode selection.

I get depressed at how many people are predicting Y&R, which submitted two episodes from Neil’s death. The show was mostly awful in 2019 – a mess – and I resent it went shows get rewarded for choosing a strong reel despite having had a poor year overall. I hope it doesn’t win and would be very disappointed it if it did win.

Days has submitted well and honestly there are only two shows that I am rooting for and Days is my 2nd choice. The time jump was brilliant. It may have been over the top but the unmasking of Kristen would have made for an excellent contrast. Still, the first time jump episode was great and competitive for the win.

I am not a B&B fan. I was surprised they chose to begin their reel with Hope giving birth. The baby reveal episodes were excellent. While I would be disappointed if it were to win it would be a better choice than Y&R imo.

GH deserves to win but I worry that the 2nd episode will kill it’s chances…

I don’t see anyone beating Y&R for Best Drama! Kristoff St. John’s death is STILL rocking the daytime world PLUS Y&R did a great job writing out his character.

If it were solely based on the clip released, Young & Restless by a landslide. Peter Bergman and Eileen Davidson shine in those scenes. So natural, so moving, such emotion — what daytime drama does best.

blech ! on GH ; for submitting ; the dumbass lame Michael Easton “rendition” of , what? no fuss no muss on his hair, and that oh so lame , smirk !!!! Thank God I missed that ep. @GH certainly has made B&B and DAYS look that much better. which isn’t much

who ever for gods sake would watch a whole hour of ???? “PUSH !!! ” and then see her COMA’d.

which is certainly what would have happened sooner w/watching Jenny Bear… come to .. after a year long lapse…. and/or sleep… who wanted more COMA’d for Jenny Bear… certainly Jack could have been that much more occupied with Eve. hell yeah

SMART – MOVE – get it – tactical made for EMMY PUSH the envelope. watching Jackie plus Ashley emote on the passing of Neil Winter. GOD I hope.. this isn’t a PUSH for his son and daughter to reign in a WIN. GOD they suck… Lilly and Devon… POOR.

sigh ! here’s hoping… WITHOUT any FAN getting full REEL to cast “OUR” thank the fan(s) OWN VOTE. Salem for the WIN.

Y&R will win,,,,

Who should win? DAYS. The time jump breathed fresh air into the show and into the genre. The payoffs continue.
Who will win? Y&R because the Neil episodes they submitted were gold, but they were the only bright spot in a year when the writing on this show hit a devastating rock bottom from which it has not risen.

REPORT: Nicholas Chavez Not Returning to General Hospital

For those who were holding out hope that Daytime Emmy winner and fan favorite, Nicholas Chavez would be returning to General Hospital after filming his leading role in Ryan Murphy’s Monsters anthology, it looks like those hopes have been dashed.

According to a report from TV Line, although unconfirmed from General Hospital or a representative for Chavez, the actor will not reprise his role as Spencer Cassadine on the long-running ABC soap opera and continue the love story of Sprina opposite Tabyana Ali (Trina, GH).

Chavez was cast as Lyle Menendez over the the summer of 2023 for the second season of Murphy’s limited Monsters series on Netflix. In the upcoming season, the series will focus on the the case of Lyle and Erik Menendez, the two well-to-do Beverly Hills brothers accused of murdering their parents in 1989.

After word from Chavez casting was revealed, GH fans were concerned over the fate of the Sprina story, a spokesperson for GH shared,  “We support Nicholas’ endeavors and look forward to having him return to General Hospital once this project is wrapped.”

In story, the series “killed off” Spencer when he went overboard with Esme to the steely waters below after being injected with a drug, thanks to Esme and falling into the Seine River in France. However, his body was never recovered, and believed to have drowned or washed away. Thus, leaving an opening for Spencer to return in the form of Chavez or be recast down the line.

TV Line shared that ‘multiple sources’ are confirming that Chavez is not returning to the ABC soap opera, which is what many had suspected might be the case once he left for this major starring role in a Ryan Murphy project. Chavez has been relatively quiet on social media for months.

The Michael Fairman Channel spoke with Nicholas Chavez for a virtual interview when he first joined the show in 2021, and spoke to him right after when he won the Daytime Emmy in 2022 – you can see those below.

No word yet on when Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menéndez Story will debut on Netflix, but it is assumed later this year.
