It’s no secret that from all appearances, and from this new blog entry by Devin DeVasquez, (the wife of Ronn Moss) that the former star of The Bold and the Beautiful, where he played Ridge Forrester, will be in the town of Port Charles on Monday’s episode of ABC’s General Hospital!

In the entry from Devron’s blog, DeVasquez shared:  “By now everyone knows that Ronn will be appearing on General Hospital.  We thought his debut would be Friday, but didn’t realize the Nurse’s Ball, which is General Hospital’s biggest show extends into next week. So Ronn will debut on Monday May 12th and it’s something I hope you don’t miss because it truly is special. As a soap fan myself, I thought the concept and the storyline of this particular part of the Nurses Ball was very heartfelt, not to mention entertaining. I know many of you are speculating on what exactly Ronn is doing? Many are wondering what character he’s playing or if he’s singing and I for one am amazed at all the response. It seems alot of B&B fans have missed simply seeing Ronn and many GH fans are tired of new characters and want to see more of their favorites, which is understandable.”

She goes on to say later in the piece:  “So I think General Hospital’s marketing campaign was ingenious and they made Ronn an offer he couldn’t refuse, because it was a win/win.  Fans around the world that don’t get GH will get to see this on the web after we do next week and the impact I believe could be massive. GH has already tied Y&R in ratings of women 18-49 and they have been number one in that spot for years. So I think GH could knock them down a peg after this airs.”

So, what do you think of Devin’s comments?  Do you think having Ronn on GH will bring some of CBS Daytime fans to the ABC soap opera?  And with much speculation that Ronn could be Blackie, or be someone else, who is Ronn going to be when he shows up in Port Charles? Or, could he be playing himself as a the lead singer of his band, Player?  Share your thoughts below!

I still think Ronn will be performing at the Nurse’s Ball but that could be as himself or as a character that he’s playing.I have no problem with Ronn Moss been on GH because his fans might tune in to see him and that helps the show.

Ron…like me and K said…will sing ‘Baby Come Back’ for little Spenser to Emma even if he is playing Blackie(unless John Stamos appears) or himself…no matter to me i find the Nurses Ball entertaining and it reminds me of how much i miss primetime variety shows…GH has done a fine job with this one…i went on youtube to watch Dr.O perform again…sometimes she reminds me of Greta Garba mixed with the characters at the castle in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Gloris Leachman in Young Frankestein but in a good way!!!

I am pretty sure that is what is going on! How much fun would it be however if after the song Ronn Moss says and on behalf of Ridge Forrester and Forrester Creations we would like to make a sizeable donation to the Nurse’s ball. I would pay money to see that but I know RC can’t do that but it would be funny I know he gets a lot of grief over his acting but he is still Ridge to me.

Maybe they could call him Forrest and say Ridge Creations making a donation…lol

Stunt casting, short term, good to see him again but wont last long.

i’m all for guest stars, and special appearances ect, i just feel that with GH, under FV and RC, everything is overkill, so its a double edge sword, surely under JFP and RG, GH was in need of some love, but theres a difference between love and smothering, and right now RC and FV are smothering us with to many stunt casting and overpopulated cast, and the proof of that was so apparent when Milo was finally seen on fridays episode. where the heck has he been? he was always one of those reoccurring characters you could count on seeing here and there but now, you never know when a character will all of a sudden air one day and the next could take weeks an or month. and thats what most of us don’t like and complain about. I love the guest stars, and new characters ect but when done RC and FV style then it fell epically. In my opinion the Donna Mills appearance and hype over her characters identity was prove of that. Slow the train down on the overpopulation, it feels like RC had a d d, because to me it makes no sense why he seems to lose interest in characters so quickly before he’s off creating the next “big” thing. if FV can reign him in then these problems will never be fixed. if they really want to deliver, then bring back Genie Francis and truly give her a story for her to sink her teeth into and for us fans to salivate. bottom line, here is what i’m hoping, smarter storytelling, I feel like the one character that FV in ruining is Anna, his only saving grace is that Finola always manages to give us something for us not to loose all hope. Her character should be more cunning and threatening especially to the Jeromes and Dr. O, they’ve personally have done her family wrong. and they should be afraid of her or threaten by her wanting justice/ or better yet REVENGE! She’s being to passive considering what has been don’t to her family, Robin was away for two years, Robert in a coma for 1 year, and Duke was in prison for years, then held agaist his will by Dr. O. Anna was a WSB agent, i’m sure the agency did things that were on the border of not being legal or right, so why is she so law abiding now? makes no sense. does she have to have a major loss again or a breakdown? what will give to make Anna more formidable.. its insulting to have Carly and Franco pulling one on her. hopefully theres hope??? for all i know, RC could pull of a great switch and show Anna was ahead on more things then we thought, and here’s what i’m hoping, maybe Jordan is an undercover cop and had to create this cover of a drug dealer to be more convincing, we could use another kick ass women on the right side of the law and Jordan would make a great candidate. So how bout it RC? can you give us our kick ass Anna Devane back, and have her put the fear back with these criminals? I have high hopes for you, theres just things you could do better. and listening to viewer is not the worst you could do, i know we as fans are all over the place and that if you actually listen to all of us then the show would be a bigger mess, so what i’m saying is listen to the stuff that makes sense, edit edit edit, trim it down and give us a smart show to root for.

i would love to know if RC scours the NET and reads any of these types of responses and/or ideas. The only sad thing is .. they have already taped episodes weeks out, and storylines months out. It would interesting to see if he’s bringing in Ronn as an original, because it would be certain to say that if this person is coming in as a replacement, he would be doing an extreme disservice to the fan and audience base.

Ronn Moss was on for about 10 minutes. He sang, he played guitar, he spoke to Spencer and then he left GH. He played Ronn Moss.

I also wish the show would make Anna smarter and maybe she is using Jordan as an undercover agent. That way she can get evidence on the Jeromes from the inside and then bust them. However as police commissioner Anna can’t let her personal feelings for the Jeromes influence her decisions because she may not want it used against her later. As for Carly and Franco Anna knows they have AJ’s phone and may know they wouldn’t have lied unless there was something incriminating about it.So she’ll wait till they come back to Port Charles and confront them.Plus we still don’t know for sure what Robert and Anna did to Faison.Maybe they put him in a coma like Robert was.

Luke and Laura are dead! Genie should get a great story but she is weak. Not as an actress but as the character ‘Laura”. She would come back and she would have scenes with all her kids, flirt with Scott, reminisce with Luke and then thats it! Luke and Tracy work well because they two of them have many layers in which to act on. Genie needs to come back with Stephan and declare war on Port Charles and be a bitch or stay away and be remembered for her work on GH in the 80’s.

Maybe someone should tell her that speculating is not the same as missing. I for one haven’t missed over the top one note Ridge at all and am glad they brought in someone with real acting chops to replace plastic ken doll.

I really hope this appearance is just a one day thing on GH.

Thank you! I totally agree, Thorsten Kaye is a much better Ridge than Ronn Moss was. 25 years and nothing ever changed with RM’s terrible acting. Hopefully you’re right and high GH stint is very short-lived because the show doesn’t need another new character or a horrible actor.

Ronn Moss was great on the bold and the beautiful. We will take him back and send that animal (Thorsten Kaye ) back on whichever show he is coming from. He is not a good actor. Ronn Moss was smooth, suave , classy, sophisticated and had chemistry with Kathrine Kelly Lang. It is a shame that Ronn Moss had to leave the Bold and the beautiful.

Maybe she should get a life of her own so she doesn’t have to be so bitter about his! He left of his own choice so no need for all of her hostility. I’m guessing they both thought he was more indispensable to the show, and the fans, then he actually is.

Ouch! You have any aloe vera for that burn?!

I do agree with you btw, but that one will definitely leave a mark!

Agree CLH. She’s doing triple duty. Promoting her husband, taking a shot at the Bells, and shilling for GH.

Her entire blog entry could have been written by the ABC PR department; touting how great GH is, when we all know it has major flaws, and comparing it to “Breaking Bad” and “Game of Thrones” which is a reality that we know only lives inside of Carlivati’s head. What an insult to the talent of those productions. If either of those shows were written like GH, I can assure you and Ms. DeVasquez that no one would have ever heard of them.

She thinks the story is brilliant and a win/win for GH fans? The only way it’s a win is if he’s just on for a day and gone. If not, he’s just another newbie no matter who he plays. If he is a recast, who cares? If he IS a recast of Blackie Parrish, even for a day. fans will be pissed. Anyone who cares about Blackie Parrish, cares about John Stamos.

If Stamos agreed to come back (and I doubt that) and Moss is just in his band, who cares about him? This is going to either be a super non-event or a total disaster for a regime that is continually tone deaf and puts their personal agendas and petty vendettas ahead of the good of the show.

I agree!!

This could be interesting. After reading the entire blog it is entirely possible that Ronn could just be playing himself and Player could be performing at the Nurse’s Ball. I like to keep my mind open to accepting new ideas. Great marketing strategy either way.

Michael
The secrecy leading up to his appearance in “The Nurses Ball” storyline is amazing……..The waiting and the knowing that Ronn is going to be on General Hospital is something that everyone is sitting at the edge of their seat now………Whoever Ronn is playing, either a new character or himself will be be something very awesome to see and to see Ronn as a different character than his alter ego from the past 25yrs as “Ridge Forrester” but now people know Ronn as “Ridge Forrrester” from “The Bold And The Beautiful” and “District Attorney John Blackwell” who can be seen on the web-series “The Bay” and he is known as the front runner bassist for the band PLAYER as Ronn Moss himself. And now the mystery appearance on “General Hospital”…….So is it 2pm on Monday yet?

Brian
Boston,MA

I just watched the episodes he was in on The Bay I thought he did fine I do not know what all the fuss is about I can name you a lot of soap actors that play over the top I always thought his style was low key. I just got tired of the scenes with he and KKL where he was constantly stroking her hair I thought on B&B he had better chemistry with Hunter Tylo . Strictly my opinion however.

Ron Moss….NOOOOOO!!! Make it stop!!!!! EWWWWW!!!!!!

This cannot be good.

Apparently the head writer has been tweeting that Monday’s episode will have BOTH Ronn Moss AND Blackie Parrish. Because John Stamos is probably not returning — after all he is the spokesman for Dannon, not Yoplait — will Ronn be playing a one-day re-cast of Blackie Parrish? I hope, not. I hope Ronn is resurrecting Player and will sing “Baby Come Back.” How cool would that be??? But if Ronn is a one-day re-cast of Blackie Parrish (JS’s beloved character), that will not only be NOT cool, but a direct middle finger to John Stamos, with whom the head writer had a Twitter feud. I am holding my breath in the hopes that GH isn’t THAT petty.

However, if Ronn is himself, with or without Player, I heartily support his appearance and think it will be a kick!!!

I love Stamos and it would be great to see him and Geary burn scenes again BUT I wouldnt mind if Moss did play the new Blackie. Remember, we havent seen Blackie in thirty years? This could be possible. I hear that Ronn is only signed for a couple episodes and if Blackie reappears, it should be for a long period of time.

Like him or not, Ronn Moss is soap opera royalty and I for one am impressed that GH got him, even if it is just for a day. Call it stunt casting but people will be watching and that’s what matters during the Nurses Ball.

I don’t know about “royalty” but he’s definitely a familiar face to the genre. However, he was terrible on B&B, idk why they kept him on the show for 25 years but his acting never improved and he was labeled the dress-making scarf-wearer. GH doesn’t need him, the show is doing well already. Ronn can’t act and he is not needed. Hopefully this is a short-term gig.

Maybe RC wants to twist the knife in John Stamos’s back. Blackie Parrish is schedule to attend, but flakes out at the last minutes and Ronn and Player play in his place. Speculating because I enjoy speculating, not necessarily because I am excited. :p

Just like they wrote a few more cheap shots at Frisco delivered by Mr. Marbles. Aimed at Jack Wagner because of his rant against his appearance last year???

I’d like Ronn to stay on!!
I am so sick and tired of the cry babies and their whining over new characters..

New characters bring new stories…. I like new stories
New characters give the vets new stories to be in to keep them active/
the new support the old….

I like new characters.. They keep me awake 🙂

Not to mention; the old ones love their time off and most request it…
without the new peoples our screen would be near empty..

The few old vets can not carry GH on their own ..

I enjoy new characters too. I’m really looking forward to Nina coming to Port Charles and mixing it up with Silas, Sam, Ava, Madeline and Nathan. Michelle Stafford is a phenomenal actress and will knock her performances out of the park, especially with Donna Mills and Maura West – I’m really looking forward to that.

But Ronn Moss should not stay on GH for long. It’d be nice if this wasn’t happening at all, but a one-day appearance is all Ronn should get, he is not needed.

Yes!!
New characters start the fires!!
I am looking forward to the ‘new’ Nina/Michelle Stafford too!!

and am happy the ‘new’ Madeline/Donna Mills came to Port Charles, too ..

they will mix it up, a making for great new stories!!

Ronn is just a guest appearance.. It will be fun to have him ..

I agree.New characters help old characters by giving them new stories to play and so it’s not the same scenes or stories over and over again.Plus once upon a time all the current characters on GH were new.

Love new characters and stories. Just don’t want new characters like Ronn that can’t act!

Soooo wish John Stamos would come back, but there are so few characters left that were there when Blackie was that I don’t know how they could fit him long term into the mix.

Wifey is going to ruin this for him if she doesn’t put a sock in it. Not sure who he’s playing, but maybe he’s a Noah recast.

Life long (all 40 years) Y&R Fan who returned to GH in Feb 2014 … I left back when the Cassidine Ice Proncess (liz Taylor) fiasco storyline went way too far into the unbeleivable! Supporting all 4 soaps now daily!

She is so right. The Bold & The Beautiful is a world-wide sensation. This can only increase GH’s exposure and broaden its audience. People should relax about Ronn being recast as Blackie. So what? Blackie hasn’t been seen in like 30 years. John Stamos had his chance last year to reprise the role he originated, but for whatever reason it didn’t work out. I’m all for nostalgia, but sometimes that gets in the way of moving on and giving the current cast a chance.

I’m not a fan of RC. What he did to my favorite characters as head writer on OLTL still makes me bitter. People shouldn’t be surprised at what he’s done and what he and his staff continue to do. But there’s only so much story to go around for the vets and new characters bring new life to the show (i.e. Ava, Julian, even Jordan is smokin’ hot!).

One thing I’m not happy about is the demise of the Qs. Hopefully someday Jason comes back and reclaims them. And I’m glad Sonny is losing control. It’s about time he answer for his crimes.

I agree.Plus maybe the show knew if they approached John Stamos again with the same offer they gave him last year he would have said no again.Plus as you point out and i have said in other posts the character of Blackie hasn’t been on for 30 years.Plus maybe John Stamos hasn’t performed musically for awhile and Ronn Moss has

I want Blackie to be released from prison and it be John Stamos. This is the first character ever to be sentence for 30 years and actually serve 30 years! I would hope Lucy announces that Blackie has been released from prison, was suppose to appear, cancelled, Ronn Moss and Player appear in his place and perform. Where is Blackie? He is impostor Luke!

I am not sure why a return of Blackie Parrish is important or necessary. I love john Stamos as much as the next guy, but some stories as well as some characters should just remain dead. I love GH and its sense of history, but am not thrilled with speed-plotting, lack of comeuppance and redemption for some characters, and the PASSIONS-like atmosphere in Port Charles.

Was watching some of my AS THE WORLD TURNS DVDs this weekend. It may be passé now, but I miss that style of daytime drama.

It would be great to see Ron Moss sing. I have Player’s “Baby Come Back” on my I-Tunes list!

I want 1500 milligrams of whatever this woman is on!! Seriously….her husband singing in a band from the 70’s in a 5 minute appearance on GH is going to have worldwide impact and send GH soaring into the ratings stratosphere??? I truly don’t know what to say and I always know what to say!

I actually don’t understand what’s going on here I saw this character in soap opera digest I know he was on bold and beautiful but I don’t understand what the impact is on why he’s in on General Hospital NY or why GH fans care? is it because he’s singing a song? I’m 44 years old and have been watching General Hospital since I’m nine and I do not understand why this guy is making such an impact? This was/is weird to me

I am dying to see Ronn Moss again. As a B&B fan since inception, I adored the romance & ups & downs
Of Brooke & Ridge. I am so tired of the current B & B story with Hope & Liam. No one can ever be
RIDGE for me. I am a fan not only of the character, but the real people. I hated that RONN decided
To depart acting, and so happy you are bringing him back. WHY BB would allow him to depart, while
writing for. BROOKE to fall for every man that winks at her, what crappy story line. They are two main
Characters and BB is boring to me although it remains a popular show. I see Brooke as ” ditsy” and
BB as stupid to let him go. TWO MAJOR CHARACTERS TRASHED, DISAPPOINTING.

I wish they would get rid of that Thorston Kaye, who plays Ridge on Bold and Beautiful. I would love to see Ronn Moss come back, to play Ridge. Since he was recast with Thorston, that show has just been miserable to watch. I was an avid B&B fan, for 25 years or more, mostly because of Ronn. I feel sorry for those actresses who have to kiss Kaye. Makes my stomach churn and that greasy hair!! UGH!!!!

A horrible replacement. Bring Ronn Moss back, please!!!

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

Published

By

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).

Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.

Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

Photo: JPI

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON

Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”

Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).

Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.

“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?

During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.

Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.

You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.

Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16

Published

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.

Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.

As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY

Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.

Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.

Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do?
