GH’s Cameron Mathison Teases Explosive Willow/Drew Affair Reveal, “I Know Many People Out There That Aren’t Happy with Drew”
On the Friday, December 13th episode of General Hospital look for the video bombshell of the year! That’s when the Quartermaine family will all learn that Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) and Drew (Cameron Mathison) had sex, and Willow cheated on her husband, Michael (Chad Duell) in a major way. By the way, Michael also cheated on Willow with Sasha (Sofia Mattsson), who is now pregnant, but we’ll save that plot point for another day.
Drew’s portrayer, Cameron Mathison weighed-in on his soap opera alter ego’s recent actions when talking with TV Insider. Mathison shared, “I had no idea that Drew’s character would almost do a 180 as far as what he’s willing to do and the sacrifices he’s willing to make for this love for this woman (Willow). So, it’s way bigger and wilder and more disruptive than I ever could have imagined, which I say in an exciting way.”
The seemingly turn to a conniving, selfish, manipulative and arrogant Drew, has left many longtime viewers of the soap scratching their heads at how deceitful the character has become. Mathison elaborated, “I know many people out there that aren’t happy with Drew, and initially that was hard for me. But I’m just going to say that these things happen in real life, and I think it’s really good story and giving a lot of other people really good story. But even more than that, I think it’s the making of, potentially, a really beautiful love story. I really do.”

Courtesy/ABC
On the affair with Willow, having sex with her mother, Nina (Cynthia Watros), and duping his nephew, Michael and more, Mathison feels Drew’s actions stem from feeling betrayed and being outcast. Cameron teased, “You’ll see as the story develops, there’s more of that, and I think he’s just really latching on to Willow, who’s also a little bit of an outsider in a sense. But I feel like it’s making sense to him, and even though what he’s doing isn’t right – sleeping with his nephew’s wife – sometimes love can make you do some crazy things.”
So, are you looking forward to Drew and Willow’s affair being exposed? Do you hope Drew gets what’s coming to him? Are you hoping that Drew and Willow end up together? Share your thoughts via the comment section. But first, take a look at the official GH video teaser for today’s episode below.
The absolute last thing I want to see is a prolonged love story between Drew and Willow. There are so many layers to this story that are icky. The character of Drew has become insufferable, and they’ve also destroyed Willow’s character at this point. If the writers want to pair these two together, they should have Willow leave Port Charles with Drew and ship them both off to D.C.
It’s too bad that we know Michael is leaving, because I would LOVE for Nelle to come back right about now and cause some chaos for everyone involved in this awful storyline.
Ugh who cares. If they are starting a serial killer storyline, can these 2 characters be moved up to the top of the list?
Drew and Willow is an instant fast forward for me. I literally cringe anytime either one of them is on screen together, either separately or together. They have what is called in pro wrestling “go away heat.” And it seems like that opinion is shared by the vast majority of the comments I see on social media and elsewhere, which is usually a pretty solid barometer of which stories and characters are working and which are not working. Yet they keep insisting on shoving them down everyone’s throat.
Since he got elected to Congress, Drew should take a one way ticket to Washington DC, and take Willow with him. They make me sick at this point. Drew was an interesting, complex character when Billy Miller played the role, now due largely to the writing, the character has been ruined.
Write both Drew and Willow off. So tired of this storyline.
Usually I have zero opinion of Carly good or bad. Today she grated on my nerves. I couldn’t stand her. I wanted someone to snatch Carly and tell her to stay out of it. Since Tracy was already riled up, I was hoping she would tell Carly to shut the hell up just for the thrill of it.
What was the purpose of showing Carly go upstairs at the Qs? She doesn’t live there and her grandkids were at the gatehouse. Unless she went to see if Jason was upstairs or went to try to talk Monica into kicking Drew out – it was a weird stage decision.
Great seeing the Wyndemere living room set again. Thought that might’ve been gone for good.
She was on my nerves at the Q’s and when she went into the Gatehouse I’d had enough. Stay out of it. Nina was on my nerves too by that point. It’s sick anyway…all 3 women in the Gatehouse have slept with Drew. What’s become of this show saddens me.
Curious thing about the Wyndemere scenes…
Last few times we saw the castle, there were drop cloths over all the furniture and cobwebs everywhere. But this time the castle looked like it was very much “lived in”. So who exactly is living there?
And did anybody else notice the pillow on the couch with the giant “H” monogram on it? What does that stand for?
It’s not Helena. I just checked, and she’s still down here!
Carly is seen more in the Q mansion than she is seen at her own house. She stomps around it like she owns the joint. She probably matched upstairs, put on a pair of tap shoes and performed a loud tap dance to “ Tea for Two” just to dominate the house’s atmosphere.
Back in the day, Edward would refer to all the non-Q mansion inhabitants as interlopers and hangers-on. He couldn’t stand most of them, while Lila found joy in almost everyone.
With all those interlopers living (and frequently visiting) there, the Q living room/foyer and kitchen sets are near permanent fixtures. We’ve come a long way from the days when only Monica, Edward and Tracy would occasionally pop up in the den.
Oh how I wanted Tracy to verbally lay into Carly and Nina. If Willow smacks the crap out of either of them while they’re in her face dictating her next moves, I would understand. I ain’t condoning it, but I understand.
Yes your viewers are upset about killing out your top actors. Is your head writer plaining to close up the GH series. Alot of us are upset with the story line. Please think who really needs to be removed.
Watching GH is almost a chore lately.
The “porn clip” of two family members with many family members watching it longer than necessary? Tracy seemingly enjoy it?
This is not the GH I once loved.
Something feels like these are its end days, unless the reboot of all thr Spencer’s can save it 2025.
Tptb should be well aware by now the new writing team is very much disliked. Yet they keep shoveling out this uncreative trash.
TPTB don’t give a crap, and it has shown the past ten years.
Closer to 13 years now, at least as of February.
Tracy seemingly enjoy it?
If that’s how you read the scene, then I suggest re-watching it.
Does “schadenfreude” work better? That is how I saw it. You may have seen it differently.. and that’s ok too, Scott.
Traci enjoyed rubbing Nina’s face in it for sure. She gets real close to Nina and says,” with a grin, “Willow’s affair with Drew must really hurt seeing you and he have gotten so close.” Great scene especially knowing that Jane and Cynthia adore each other in real life.
I understand what you mean but the football game switching to those two idiots having sex in the nursery made me laugh as hard as Ned was. The only thing that could have been funnier is if the sound of the football game merging with the visual of the sex scene. You’d hear the sports announcer say,” And he makes a pass, he fumbles and makes a field goal!”
Oh the stench of the ick factor isn’t just coming from the writing, it’s coming from the actor himself. Drew, Michael’s uncle, is way too old to be pursuing Willow. This is not romantic love, he’s exhibiting predatory behavior. And Willow has never received the therapy she needed after being drugged, raped and impregnated by a cult leader. Writers need to examine why Willow is drawn to Drew while drawing parallels between Shiloh and Drew.
Would also be interesting to see if there was something to cause Drew’s turn from generally well liked personality to a total heel.
Exactly. If they don’t offer a viable explanation for both Drew and Willow’s behavior, what you have is plot driven writing, not character driven writing.
It’s so unfortunate. Episodic television used to be the mecca for character driven writing. Save the plot driven writing for comic book movies and scripted reality shows.
If Michael dies, I hope it’s at Drew’s hand, then they can get rid of him too, as his killer.
So happy for the fast forward. Hate Willow and Drew !! Let them both go to Washington , permanently !! They would fit right in !!
And get them some orange outfits too, huh?
I didn’t like him and his scroungy look with Carly and he’s disgusting with Willow, at least Nina is more his age and have a lot in common, two of a kind! Wish they’d sic Cyrus on him.
I think what Willow and drew did was a big mistake and that they deserve the fallout for it. Especially if they’re going to act like they did nothing wrong. She is a horrible person and so is he

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).
Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.
Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON
Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”
Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).
Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.
“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?
During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.
Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.
You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.
Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.
Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.
As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY
Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.
Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.
Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.

WSB WAR SCARS
Then, in one of the best parts for longtime fans of the series, Elizabeth talks about her legendary grandparents, Audrey and Steve Hardy and she tells Tracy they would have wanted Sonny to have a seat on the board for all the good that he has done for the hospital. After Elizabeth states Sonny’s case, things took a turn and Tracy and Sonny wound up shaking hands as Sonny is board member #16.
In the how great was it to see Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) together scenes department, the pick-up of last Friday’s cliffhanger is played out as the two former lovers fill each other in on what has gone down in their lives in the last several months including Valentin admitting he had been living in Carly’s attic, and Anna realizing she was kidnapped by Cullum, Sidwell and Cassius Faison. During their conversation, Anna sees the hallucination of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) right while Valentin is standing there.

Courtesy/ABC
Later Anna was on her way to saying goodbye to Valentin, when the two share an emotional hug. After Valentin made his exit, Peter reappeared and warned Anna to not let Valentin distract her because she has important work to do. Anna answers, “I know.”
So, what did you think of General Hospital’s 16,000 episode? What do you think is wrong with Jason? What is the important “work” that Anna has to do? Were you glad to see Sonny get a seat on the hospital board, or not so much. Weigh-in via the comment section. But first, check out the scenes on Jason and Tristan’s long flight to Port Charles.
