General Hospital
THIS WEEK on GENERAL HOSPITAL: Sonny Tells Carly, ‘I Don’t Owe Jason Nothing’; While Sam and Jason Come Face to Face
General Hospital previews for the week of March 25-29 pits friends and family against each other over the recent return of Jason Morgan (Steve Burton), and how he is implicated as the shooter that put Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) in the hospital still in dire straits.
Last week, with the walls closing in on Jason, he turned himself in to the PCPD while lawyering up with Diane (Carolyn Hennesy). Meanwhile, Willow (Katelyn MacMullen), Michael (Chad Duell), Spinelli (Bradford Anderson), Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), and Carly (Laura Wright) all could be culpable for aiding and abetting a suspect in the shooting of a cop, and for hiding Jason.
In the latest promo for the ABC soap opera, we get a glimpse of Sam (Kelly Monaco) finally seeing Jason for the same time since his recent return, and asking him at the PCPD if he indeed shot Dante.

When everyone gathers at Jason’s arraignment, Carly is seen yelling at Sonny, “You owe Jason!” However, in a key moment, Sonny responds, “I don’t owe Jason nothing!” Will we finally see Sonny bring up the fact of how Jason and Carly were married when they believed he had ‘died’? Does Sonny truly believe Jason shot his son, Dante? Stay tuned.

Now, weigh-in. Should Sonny forgive Jason for whatever feelings he has about his former hit man? Are you looking forward to the scenes between Jason and Sam? Share your thoughts in the comment section.
A third week in a row with a Jason-centric promo? Blagh. Spare me. Please. This is not the Jason Morgan Show and this is NOT what General Hospital is. Bring us hospital-centric storylines, please! Enough with the mob and the violence. It isn’t cute nor entertaining. Elizabeth Korte & Patrick Mulcahey have other stories they could be focusing on; shame this got slammed into their laps.
I don’t like the character of Jason Morgan, but I have been pleasantly surprised how balanced the show has been since his return. Other characters and stories are getting plenty of screen time. And though I wish General Hospital didn’t keep the mob front and center, I have to reluctantly say that unfortunately for the past decades that IS, in fact, what General Hospital is. Let’s hope change is coming…
Sonny and his crew have been a huge part of GH for 30 yrs. and I can’t figure how long it’s taken a lot of people to get sick of the mob scene. Personally, I love it and him , I’ll watch Greys Anatomy to see the medical stuff. I also watch just about every “Cop” show on nighttime TV. Glutton for punishment as they say, huh?
Don’t know how long you’ve been watching but ever since Sonny and his family and ” friends” have been in PC, it has revolved around them. I’d advise you to watch Chicago Med.or Greys Anatomy maybe , if you want” hospital-centric stories”
Not a fan of Carly and Jason as a couple. Not a fan of Sam and Jason as a couple. I loved him with Brit but she is dead…. Maybe someone new please!!!!!
Jason is the best. His long silent stares bring so much to every scene he is in.
Praying they implode and they will
Today’s episode was good. Jason didn’t know John Cates is Stone’s brother, Jagger (maybe because he looks very different). Of course he doesn’t remember his past before the accident so no he would’ve remembered Jagger. Jason told Anna that he’s been working with Jagger for over two years to infiltrate Pikeman. He gave her a lot of info. But we still don’t know who is Pikeman? Did Pikeman kill Austin?
Original Jagger left town several years before drunken AJ scrambled Jason’s brain, so it’s plausible that Jason wouldn’t recognize him . But the name “Cates” should have raised a red flag for him. He’s certainly heard about Stone from Sonny & Robin over the years, even if he can’t remember that they all went to high school together..I thought that Jagger & Jason were both on the second season of “Night Shift”, but maybe they never ran into each other, despite both of them having scenes with Robin. Fuzzy Devil Memory is forgetting the details there.
Seems that NuJagger is driven by nothing more than a 30 year old misplaced grudge against Sonny and is hiding behind a badge to get away with his cartoonish revenge plot, and thought he would turn Sonny’s best friend against him as part of that plot. Which makes him an even worse cartoon villain than Whiny Heiny Fasion or Teddy Balkan.
As for Pikeman… I’m sticking to my theory that Lorenzo Alcazar is behind that whole thing. Their entire “business plan” of weapons trafficking via black ops with rogue intelligence operatives is exactly the thing that the Alcazar brothers used to do… or at least TRIED to do in Port Charles. Sonny always stopped them before. But that was before the Tricky Dick Nixon Falls episode melted down half of his brain.
And I still say that the “leverage” this Cabal has over Jason has something to do with Morgan Corinthos, who survived the Jerome Family Project car bomb a few years back, but may have had his brain wiped (just like Jason did in 1996) and was “reformatted” into an accomplice of Alcazar & Pikeman for the last several years. Jason told Michael that he “couldn’t live” with the consequences of what would happen if he didn’t comply with the cabal’s orders, so obviously they’re hanging something over his head far more serious than a bunch of dragonshit criminal charges that Diane could easily get him out of, with one hand tied behind her back.
At least you’re consistent.
Do you just cut & paste this stuff retype it every time?
I’m just not seeing any other theory that makes sense for “Pikeman” that doesn’t involve Alcazar running it, nor any “leverage” they could have over Jason that doesn’t involve him protecting somebody who is believed to be “dead”, and Morgan would be the obvious choice there.
It doesn’t make sense that Jason would agree to work for the FBI, just to get out of federal charges, because he has the best lawyer in Port Charles on permanent retainer. Diane hasn’t failed him yet.
I’m not sure who’s behind it, but still can’t see them bringing Morgan back (unless they kill off Dante -which they shouldn’t).
There’s speculation online that Ava is Pikeman. Can’t see her behind the Puerto Rico shooting since Avery was in the near vicinity.
If structured right, Valentin could be feasible, but that would undo the character growth he’s had over the past few years.
Selina would a cop out, but it could change the intended target from the MC pool shooting to actually be Curtis.
Regardless, the pace since the new writers took over has definitely pepped up.
Kind of surprised that Jason confided all this stuff to Anna instead of Diane whose job is to help him out of this crap.Sonny disappoints me in not trusting and having more faith in Jason and Ava is only instigating his bad feelings toward his friend, what are her motives anyway , she is really bugging me and she better watch out for Nina who will tear her a new one if she finds out she’s after Sonny. she may feel she’d rather run an Art Gallery than a magazine.
Ava seems to be regressing back to her 2013 self and that’s n
Ugh… the board seems to have eaten my previous reply and would not let me edit it.
Anyway… as I was saying… Ava seems to be regressing back to her 2013 self and that’s not a good thing. She seemed to have made some progress since she had her face reconstructed, and survived Ryan’s reign of terror (though Kiki wasn’t so lucky).
Recently though, she seems to be encouraging Sonny to turn against both Jason and Michael, and it’s hard to interpret any good motivation for doing that. It’s starting to look like Ava misses the old “family business” and is plotting a takeover of Corinthos Coffee, LLC for herself.
Well, I knew it was too good to be true. The ” cat and it’s colors, etc” looks like she’s reverting back to her old self. She even made telling Sonny about his son waking up, like it was her calling GH , and not telling him about his phone call.
What are your thoughts on Valentine? Not that I would say I was shocked , I wouldn’t put anything past him, but I was surprised in the moment. Since Anna, he’s been laying low, should have known he was up to no good, and I also thought that guard would shoot Brennan when he took him out of the transport truck.
Valentin also seems to be regressing back into his former character… the guy I called “Val the Bastard”, and not just because he didn’t know who his father was at the time.
I do think it’s a sloppy rewrite if we’re supposed to believe he’s running Pikeman now, and did Anna somehow not know that Val is the one who dragged Sonny into business with Pikeman in the first place. Not even going to ask if NuJagger knew about that, because I doubt he would care, as long as it made Sonny look bad.
I don’t know how Val would be messing with Sonny’s meds, unless he had an accomplice inside. And though Val is close with Nina, she got booted out of Sonny’s life a couple weeks back, so it would probably have to be Ava. Not sure why she would want to work with Val, but we do know she doesn’t have a problem with playing with medication.
The way Valentin talked about Sonny’s meds, I had the impression that they would be “adjusted” at the Pharmacutical point of origin, before Sonny gets them, which is probably worse than Ava messing with them no?
I will enjoy this new dynamic with Jason and Sonny as whatever seems to be pending their friendship must be huge!
Glad that this aspect of Jason’s return is interesting as it will definitely make or break their friendship.
Yes, Sonny has been very disappointing. The old Sonny would give Jason the benefit of the doubt and having more faith in his loyalty. He always said they were “brothers” now all of a sudden, he’s talking about he and Carly when he was in Nixon Falls.
The way Sonny’s been acting towards Jason and Carly, I’d think someone’s already messing with his meds. I say this kiddingly but seriously this isn’t like him and hopefully it’s not Ava up to her old tricks as she did with Morgan. We should hardly notice when Valentine’s plan to sabatoge Sonnys meds, comes to fruition.

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).
Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.
Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON
Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”
Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).
Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.
“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?
During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.
Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.
You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.
Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.
Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.
As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY
Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.
Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.
Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.

WSB WAR SCARS
Then, in one of the best parts for longtime fans of the series, Elizabeth talks about her legendary grandparents, Audrey and Steve Hardy and she tells Tracy they would have wanted Sonny to have a seat on the board for all the good that he has done for the hospital. After Elizabeth states Sonny’s case, things took a turn and Tracy and Sonny wound up shaking hands as Sonny is board member #16.
In the how great was it to see Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) together scenes department, the pick-up of last Friday’s cliffhanger is played out as the two former lovers fill each other in on what has gone down in their lives in the last several months including Valentin admitting he had been living in Carly’s attic, and Anna realizing she was kidnapped by Cullum, Sidwell and Cassius Faison. During their conversation, Anna sees the hallucination of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) right while Valentin is standing there.

Courtesy/ABC
Later Anna was on her way to saying goodbye to Valentin, when the two share an emotional hug. After Valentin made his exit, Peter reappeared and warned Anna to not let Valentin distract her because she has important work to do. Anna answers, “I know.”
So, what did you think of General Hospital’s 16,000 episode? What do you think is wrong with Jason? What is the important “work” that Anna has to do? Were you glad to see Sonny get a seat on the hospital board, or not so much. Weigh-in via the comment section. But first, check out the scenes on Jason and Tristan’s long flight to Port Charles.
