Need to Know

  • On General Hospital’s March 5 episode, Josslyn Jacks confesses how she wound up in the WSB to her mother Carly Spencer.
  • Josslyn reveals she wants to bring down Sonny Corinthos and anyone else like him.
  • After finding Valentin hidden in the attic of Carly’s house, Josslyn gives her mother 24 hours to get rid of him, or she will turn her into the authorities.

All that Josslyn has been keeping secret from her mother, Carly Spencer came spilling out in a major confrontation on the Thursday, March 5 episode of Genera Hospital which also served up emotional performances from Eden McCoy (Josslyn) and Laura Wright (Carly), and in a separate story, Kelly Thiebaud (Britt).

Here’s how it all went down: Josslyn is shocked to see Valentin  (James Patrick Stuart) in her mother’s attic. With her gun pointed and him getting flippant with her, she kicks him with a low blow, punches him right in the face and ties him up, all in short order, Suddenly Carly walks in on the scene and without thinking Josslyn pulls a gun on her own mother.

Josslyn goes off on Carly that she cannot believe that she harboring a fugitive in her house! Carly tells her Valentin is the only way to get Josslyn out of the WSB! That strikes a nerve with Josslyn as she knows her mother knows the truth about her. However, she tells Carly that she could go to prison for twenty years, if she is found out. Next, Josslyn forces Carly downstairs, leaving Valentin tied up.

WSB FOR ME

Now in Carly’s kitchen she admits she’s known for months that Josslyn was in the WSB, but was waiting to confess to her. Josslyn keeps repeating that she’s an adult and wasn’t allowed to tell Carly. Then, Carly blurts out that Jason (Steve Burton) respected her enough to tell her the truth and not lie to her, like her own daughter did!

Josslyn says she was recruited by Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna), but it was her all he own choice to join the WSB Port Charles bureau. Carly is so upset with Jack for using her daughter, but Josslyn continues to swear she was a willing participant and she had to lie to everyone, especially her mother.

Viewers finally, after over a year, get the answer to the question, why Josslyn would allow Jack recruit her into this awful life? Josslyn claims she’s trying to make the world a better place, but Carly brings up what has happened to Anna Devane who has suffered a mental breakdown because of working for the WSB. Carly blames Jack for all of this and for pushing Josslyn.

Then, Josslyn explains that she wanted justice for her late boyfriend Dex Heller’s death and she knew Cyrus Renault killed him, She reveals how Jack led her to Cyrus and she killed him. So, after she got justice for Dex, why is she still with the WSB, asks Carly. “I want to take down Sonny (Maurice Benard) and everyone else like him, mercifully and finally,” responds Josslyn,

CARLY GETS AN ULTIMATUM

Josslyn continues that  as she grew up  she saw the real Sonny, the one who gets away with murder. Joss says the WSB has the resources to bring him to justice and she wants to make sure it happens. As Carly is stunned, Josslyn goes in on her for her choices and always forgiving Sonny when he has gotten almost everyone in his family killed: Morgan, Kristina, Michael, Dex and wonders if Avery and Donna are next. Josslyn cannot comprehend why her mother is so obsessed with Sonny.

Carly tells Josslyn not to throw away her life because of Sonny. Josslyn can’t believe Carly is continuing to refuse to see who Sonny really is. She will not watch her do the same with Valentin. She tells her mother to try and save herself and that she’s got 24 hours to get rid of Valentin, before she turns them both in. Josslyn storms out. Valentin is there for Carly in her time of need. What will happen next?

BRITT IS DEEPLY-AFFECTED BY DELILAH’S DEATH

In other key moments: An emotional Britt met up with Jason overwhelmed about losing Delilah after she gave birth, and this being the first patient who has died under her care since she’s been reinstated. Felicia (Kristina Wagner) confronts Lulu (Alexa Havins) about what she saw. What she saw was Lulu and Nathan (Ryan Paevey) kissing. While Lulu promises she is going to tell Maxie, Felicia fears it will cost her most likely her friendship with Maxie and more. Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) and Chase (Josh Swickard) visit Delilah’s baby in the NICU, and decide they will watch over her, since thus far there is no next of kin or family of Delilah’s identified.

Now below, watch the Josslyn/Carly confrontation where all is revealed.

Then weigh-in; did you like Josslyn’s stance with her mother? Do you think she has taken this WSB agent thing way too far? Will anyone be able to get her out of this life before it’s too late? What did you think of the performances of Eden McCoy and Laura Wright? Share your thoughts and theories via the comment section.

I really didn’t like an armed Joss beating the crap out of an unarmed Valentin. That wasn’t fun to watch. Maybe this is supposed to be a demonstration of female empowerment but all I could think is Joss is a mentally unwell a— hole with Daddy issues. But sure, Eden and Laura are talented actors, and they really brought their A game. I just hate the storyline.

We’re all adults here so you can say asshole.

Joss is far from being mentally unwell, nor does she have “Daddy issues” Jax is her dad. Joss is sick about losing loved ones and almost losing other loved ones because of retribution directed toward Sonny. She lost her brother Morgan,Almost lost Michael,Almost lost Kristina and lost her BF. She is not just the younger sibling anymore, she has 2 younger siblings, plus has a much younger nephew and niece. It has very little to do with Sonny, the family man, but everything to do with Sonny and the enemies that have retaliated against the family. Sonny has been a well respected member of PC for a long time. Joss , because of her fear of losing more loved ones at the hands of his enemies cannot see the good side of him, including protecting her since she was a little girl from Sonny The Crime Boss.

I can see you’re a devoted fan of Joss’s. I am not but Eden is terrific.

The best episodes often happen when you least expect them. Carly and Joss laid all the cards on the table. And boy, did those scenes (and actresses) deliver!

It’s so impressive to see what a powerful performer McCoy has grown into. She held her own with the force that Wright has always been.

Kudos to the writers for making Joss’s reasoning for joining the WSB make sense. She clearly never got over Morgan’s death which was eventually compounded with Dex’s demise.

Simply riveting.

I am so shocked that Josslyn told Carly the entire story of how she came into the WSB. Joss should have never told Carly about killing Cyrus Renault. Joss is right. She’s a grown woman who does not need her mother’s permission or approval of her career choice. Eden McCoy and Laura Wright were terrific.

I was not happy with Felicia confronting Lulu. I’m no Lulu fan but what she and back from the dead Nathan do is none of Felicia’s business. Maxie made her choice and that choice is Spinelli.

Thank You

Eden was amazing….such a great reveal

Josslyn is out of control. If it wasn’t for Sonny and everyone like him (Jason), she would be dead!

Just how did Sonny prevent Joss from being dead?

I don’t know about the last part of your statement, but I agree with you about Jason being like Sonny. I mean, Joss stated she wanted to take down “Sonny and those like him”. Well, by her own definition, this would include Jason since Jason is Sonny’s enforcer. Her reasoning has too many holes. Although the scenes were riveting and well acted, I think the writers tossing in this Sonny angle is weak.

Don’t get me wrong she’s a great actress, but didn’t like her tone with her mother because Carly has been putting herself in harms way to get her out the situation she’s in.

Joss still acts like a petulant brat and watching her “play” WSB agent feels ridiculous. For me, she will always be Nellie Olsen dressed up as an ear of corn in the school play.

Indeed.

So sick of this revisionist history dragonshit from these writers. We all know Sonny is no saint. That’s why we like him down here in Hell. But he had NOTHING to do with Morgan’s alleged “death”.

That was a Jerome “family project”. Ava messed with Morgan’s medication. Julian was stupid enough to leave his keys in the car, which his psycho sister Olivia planted a bomb in.

Sonny also had nothing to do with Mikey getting BBQ’d last year. The guilty person there would seem to be the one who signs Joss’s WSB paychecks, WSB director and double agent Cullum.

Joss really should blame herself, honestly. If she had called Jason, rather than Jack Brennan, to clean up the mess after she sent Cyrus the Virus down here to Hell, she could have avoided this entire WSB clusterphuck.

There’s actual guilt and guilt by association. While Sonny might not have been directly responsible for Morgan’s death or Michael’s multiple mishaps, if he was not recognized as their father, those incidents would not have happened.

Mikey got BBQ’d at Sonny’s penthouse. So you might be able to make the argument that Sonny was the intended target there. But there’s no link at all between Sonny and Olivia Jerome’s psychopathic hatred of her own brother. Or Ava messing with Morgan’s medication because she was jealous of her own daughter having sex with him. (a pattern she repeated with Duke’s son Griffin, which ultimately resulted in her wishing Kiki was dead, and Ryan was happy to make that wish come true. I’m surprised the revisionist writers don’t have Joss blame Sonny for that one)

Red headed adolescent Michael took a bullet in the head and woke up a blond teenager with a literal axe to grind.

Going even further back, there’s the clink-boom catastrophe.

The bullet in Mikey’s head came from Claudia Zucchini. She got her payback from that when Mikey woke up a year later (yet somehow 5 years older) and he took matters (and an axe handle) into his own hands when she was threatening Carly and baby Joss.

The clink boom thing…. that was another case of a rival mobster going nuts and killing his own kid in the process. Sonny would have been well within his rights to kill Daddy Rivera after that, instead he left that decision up to the man himself. Who apparently couldn’t live with the guilt of blowing up Lily and his unborn grandchild.

I know all those details. Still doesn’t make Sonny any more safe as a father. With all their faults, the Qs would’ve been a better choice to raise Michael (even an alcoholic AJ).

Some of us are sick of this tired schtick too.

They were both fantastic in these scenes! Eden should submit them for best supporting actress in her Emmy reel next year.

Ick! The sex scene between Valentin and Carly was gross. Carly’s expression was cringe.

You speak the truth! Anyway, it was nonsense for them to end up in bed given how their day went. Or I guess typical soap nonsense. Maybe part of the reason for the rush was JPS’s schedule. I don’t know. I agree with you though. I fast forwarded through that scene.

At least Carly stopped smirking for a second.

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).

Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.

Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON

Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”

Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).

Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.

“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?

During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.

Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.

You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.

Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.

Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.

As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY

Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.

Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.

Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.

WSB WAR SCARS

Then, in one of the best parts for longtime fans of the series, Elizabeth talks about her legendary grandparents, Audrey and Steve Hardy and she tells Tracy they would have wanted Sonny to have a seat on the board for all the good that he has done for the hospital. After Elizabeth states Sonny’s case, things took a turn and Tracy and Sonny wound up shaking hands as Sonny is board member #16.

In the how great was it to see Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) together scenes department, the pick-up of last Friday’s cliffhanger is played out as the two former lovers fill each other in on what has gone down in their lives in the last several months including Valentin admitting he had been living in Carly’s attic, and Anna realizing she was kidnapped by Cullum, Sidwell and Cassius Faison. During their conversation, Anna sees the hallucination of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) right while Valentin is standing there.

Later Anna was on her way to saying goodbye to Valentin, when the two share an emotional hug. After Valentin made his exit, Peter reappeared and warned Anna to not let Valentin distract her because she has important work to do. Anna answers, “I know.”

So, what did you think of General Hospital’s 16,000 episode? What do you think is wrong with Jason? What is the important “work” that Anna has to do? Were you glad to see Sonny get a seat on the hospital board, or not so much. Weigh-in via the comment section. But first, check out the scenes on Jason and Tristan’s long flight to Port Charles.
