Days Of Our Lives
Hankies! Peter Reckell To Tape His Last Episode Today At DAYS!

Courtesy/NBC
Hard to fathom, but true! Days of our Lives superstar, Peter Reckell (Bo Brady) is heading into NBC and to the set of DAYS for the last time today.
The beloved actor tweeted the news this morning via his Twitter account stating, “Heading into Salem for the last time. Going to miss that place, but not the traffic. Always The two edged sword. ”
Yesterday the actor also revealed he cleaned up his dressing room, tweeting also, “Going to pack up the dressing room today. Not looking forward to it. Wonder what surprises I will find hidden in the dusty corners.”
We are waiting to hear if there will be an on-set farewell for Peter today, and will keep you posted. But for now, soapers, what would you like to say to Peter as he leaves Salem today for what could very well be the last time in his career? Let us know!
If you cant get to an agreement with them, ur better off leaving! They are showing you no respect!
tHEY ARE MAKING A GRAVE MISTAKE. THEY TRIED ONCE TO REPLACE YOU AND I WAS A DISASTER. THEY BETTER WISE UP AND REALIZE WHO MAKES THE SHOW.
I can’t imagine Days without Bo! I’m afraid to hear how they plan to write him off. I hope they aren’t killing him off! Good luck Peter and hope to see you on my screen again soon.
Can’t believe he is really leaving. The character of Bo is so much a part of DOOL’S and it’s history. Why couldn’t there have been a common ground between what he wanted and what the POTB could live with. I am having trouble imagining this show with out Bo Brady. He will be missed as I have watched him playing Bo since his first scene. Good luck to you Peter Reckell, I hope great things will come your way.
God Michael. That last line about maybe being for the last time in his career got me in the gut!!!
I hold out hope that we’ll see Peter as Bo again, I am so disappointed that he is going, and that Christie’s last airdate is today, and Matthew will be gone soon as well.
I have been watching Days since the 80’s and have seen my favorites leave and come back (Deidre and Drake), as long as some of the “old guard” are on the show, I’ll stick with it. I’m not much of a fan of the current younger set. They did much better with integrating them in to the fabric of the show in the past. Glad we still have Deidre, Drake, Melissa, Kristian, James R., Mary Beth, Suzanne, and John A.
Wish Peter well, and hope that he returns to Salem!
I love Bo and hope he will come back, but he is on Days till Oct: so by then he may come home again,I sure will miss him.good luck Peter and hurry back soon. 🙂
We will miss Peter very much but, we wish him lot’s of good luck in whatever he decides to do.
SO SORRY TO SEE YOU GO!
Goodbye Bo Brady. Im not sure if you will ever no what a big part of my life you have been. From the ages of 12 and now I am 43 I have watched this show and always hated when you would leave but I always new you would be back but now I know this will be your last trip to Salem. Farewell take care and enjoy the new Chapter in your life. You will forever be a part of me.
I love and will miss Bo Brady! Good Luck Peter!
I will miss Reckell, but I’m not exactly sure why he is leaving. In truth, he hasn’t really been “the old Bo” for quite a long time. His work has been grounded, emotionally compelling when needed, and deftly believable. He has been an integral presence on the show for many, many years. Lately, while he has not held a central storyline, he has had many scenes and played quite well with Alfonso. However, as Reckell has aged, so has his character. He is no longer the hot stud on a motorcycle, and nor do we want to see him in that role. If he is leaving because of a lack of front burner storyline, or money, or “guaranteed” episodes, then his departure is pretty annoying. During this current anti-soap climate, Days could use his talent and familiar presence. If the ratings decline and crappy writing continue, there may not be a Salem for him to return to.
I have probably posted so much on this latley and made a few people upset but every body is entitled to their own feelings. I am mad, hurt and lost all the same. I have watched days since I was three.I watched Peter from his beginning now his ending.I think i t is a very bad move on his part, days part or I have even heard it was his spouse part but it don’t matter who just a bad move.I don’t think days will last much longer with the changes that has come into it and not just reckell even though that is my main complaint.I disagree with some of the other comments. Yes we all get older and or looks do change but the ratings would be alot better to see some older action cause he is sexier than any of the younger guys.a fine wine I would say with his age and nothing to compare.I think I’d days would dust off the covering they would find the ratings.I feel they are to worried about young and times and can’t see the forest for the trees. We have watched it generation after generation but I am afraid it will not make it on. Soaps have always caught heat from lots of people who are not soap fans but it had alwaysbeen strong enough to hold out. Alot of people hold on to this cause it said a good not one your grandma could not watch but now it’s just getting out of control and I just hope it gets recovered in time. People know Wat goes on in this world today and don’t need to be reminded we just need to be able to get lost for an hour out of the day even if it is to get in some old sexy leather and hop on a bike and pretend to fall in love. This may never be read or go no higher than the ceiling but it feels good to express. I wish him well but I don’t see his new show doing it for him. Good luck Peter and days you both need it!
I read it and agree with your sentiments. Age brings a richness and complexity that is interesting and attractive. People who can’t see this are too young to understand.
@Laura. Per your post – “this may never be read or go no higher than the ceiling but it feels good to express.”
I post to support the 4 remaining shows… and I have to press for DAYS. and, i like reminiscing…. on the shows that have met their demise…..i watched, ATWT, AW, AMC, Santa Barbara, GL.
Mr. Peter Reckell…. it’s kinda like a numbing feeling…. A void… that’s coming… and i’m not acknowledging it.
yeh, he’s not the superhero…. but, i’ve certainly, noticed now much more loving he is, with Hope…. and I marvel at his natural fatherhood… with Ciara… and when he and Hope would reminisce about Zach. This may be too little too late.. but, as a send off… it would have been nice to see Shawn D. and Chelsea come home for a visit. Bo’s, children, Salems future Brady’s.
.
Days is stupid to let him go as Bo, and to get rid of Christie as Carrie and Matthew as jack!
BAD DECISIONS ALL AROUND. THE OLD CHARACTERS CAN NEVER BE REPLACED. THEY HAVE EARNED THEIR PLACE. I SUGGEST THAT THE WRITERS CUT THEIR SALARIES TO PAY FOR THIS ACTORS AND KEEP THE SHOW RATINGS
Days is just not the same without the original characters. I hate to see Bo (Peter Reckell) depart. With Bo gone, what happens to Hope? It just does not look right to see Hope still on the show without Bo. 🙁
I can’t imagine Days without Bo. Please change your mind and stay!
I HAVE NEVER! Bo leaving. Not good. He is a cornerstone of days along with Hope and Stefano and Sami. They all have their place in our hearts. Bo is still a sexy man even if he has aged as all of us have and we still love him and maybe more. We need young and mature alike. If Bo is dissatisfied with his role the writers need to dream up a new plot line which will be satisfactory. For goodness sake, it will be a cold Salem indeed without Bo not to mention Stefano, Lexi, Carrie. Bring Lexi back and let her join the family business which would be very different. Bring tony back as we have missed him and his sophistication for years now. Being Anna back as she is fun and beautiful. Bring Carrie back as she is such a lady. And for everyone’s sake bring back our beloved Stefano. Raise a glass of Strega ,put on some opera and reunite the fans , Kate and EJ with our beloved villain Stefano. In a time of such uncertainty we need our familiar things. Just add some zest and a twist but keep our staples stable. PS we need our soap to at least give us fans an hour of escape. Don’t let our stars escape!
Why have the writers removed Shawn and belle? They were lovely. Jason and Kristin are on GH now which I don’t watch but I miss them on days. They had good chemistry. It united Bo/hope and marlena/John and we were all happy. Soaps are great stress relievers for us fans and since they seem to be disappearing we need to do everything to stop days from going down the drain also. Bring back our familiars and give them some exciting storylines and of course bring in some new people also but not at the expense of losing our long time favorites. Tony, Anna, Lexi, Bo, Stefano, Renee, Carrie, Shawn, belle — we are calling and shouting for you to come home to Salem.
What can I say? I’m Heartsick. The demise. OK… if RKK was brought back…. this would lessen the anxiety. This would create story and tensions for Billie and Hope. The stance of “supercouple”… pigeonholes… stifles… leaves few choices? to react to every one else’s play? This would be cutting to the quick… the role of supercouples…
Aside, from the obvious bope. I’ll miss his scenes with his Mother… and his sisters…Kayla and Kimberly. He was so good with Carly Manning.
wow… now that i’m thinking of it…. Bo’s had opportunities… with carly and billie… I can’t even think of who Hope… ??? John, as Gina…. remember Larry? so, this could be tough… to link her romantically with someone new. or… beg to differ… and make easing out of the supercouple mode… an easier transition. it’s wait and see mode.
my hat’s off to Peter Reckell…. Thank you.
taking another pay cut… is his personal decision. I can’t champion DAYS enough.
His impact of DAYS legacy… is stellar.
Repost. He still has that IT factor.
Bo goes, I quit watching. As far as I am concerned, Hope and Bo were the next “Grandpa & Grandma Horton”.
Thank you Peter Reckell for all the years of entertainment. I shall miss you terribly. God bless you.
HOPE AND BO ARE SALEM – What are you thinking
Good Luck Bo Brady, you will be missed!!!
I think Bo and Hope are the Key roll in Days my mom got me into days back when i was little she would rec it for me when i was in school . It was the love Bo had for Hope how they always found there ways back togeather again .
What will happen to Days? Bo is such a big part of Days!!!! Please bring back Bo what are you guys thinking? Huge mistake!!! I am so disappointed !!!!
please do NOT leave – every job has its ups & downs – if you’re burned out take five but come back. YOU are part of the show!
I feel plum awful that Peter is leaving the show what happened I’ve been watching you for 13 year’s its awful having the faggetts on there taking over everything its not fair and it even states in the bible god doesn’t like that kind of behavior. The new writer’s of the show suck my mom and I have been watching it faithfully for decades now and are really disappointed in it I change the channel when they start kissing its just plain gross!!! I know they are going to be losing lot’s of viewers over this matter Plz come back Bo we love you
I always said if Bo or Hope ever split up or one leave im not watching show no more! I’ve been watching Bo since day one…….I cant beleive your not going to be on no mire. Whats Hope to do? Im just heart sick im not going to see you wirh fancy face!!!!!! From a loyal watcher!!! 🙁
Peter – I have been watching DOOL from the day it went on the air till the present time. Mostly, I loved watching you ‘grow up’ on the show, from your motorcycle days, to capturing ‘Hope’ almost from the alter, all the ups and downs of your lives and now, you are gone. That came as such a surprise to me and I understand why. No one of your stature should be asked to take a drastic pay cut in these days of need. You are so talented and I would like to know what you’re going to do now. Are you going to be starring in a new show and if so, please supply the name and time it will be on. I live in Staten Island and would love to hear from you. The Best of Good Luck and hope to see you on TV again real soon.
bring peter reckell back or i stop watching days
you got to have bo and hope he deserves the xtra cash
I have watched DOOL ‘s from the first episode and I am very sad that Bo is leaving !! I probably won’t watch it any more . Bo and Hope are supposed to be the next Tom and Alice!!! So long Bo and good luck !! So long Days I will miss you too.
I have been watching Days since the first show, and I am never surprised as to the leaving of the characters. But I feel sure Bo will return, because of the way he has been written off. Still searching for Stephano. I just hope Peter is the one to return, he is the original. When they put on actors, such as Roman(who was Chris that ran Shenanigans), or when Wayne North came back as WHOEVER, and then left. Like the audience doesn’t remember the actors or the story plots. And Sonnys mom, who has played so many parts with other names, give me a break, like we don’t know she has been on so many times before. Good Luck Peter and and hopefully now you can have “The Days of Your Life”.
I was shocked peter left the show i missed the parts then
Its not going to be easy. Without peter at days.
I m going to.missed all.of you when days are ending.
Won’t you come back Bo Brady…….won’t you come home? Please!!
Big mistake letting him go. Give him a juicy part and you will be surprised what he can do. Without John and Bo this soap is going downhill.

Now, five leading ladies of the soaps are vying for the gold for Lead Actress and the category marked the first-ever nominations for CBS daytime’s Beyond the Gates when two actresses made the final cut. Only General Hospital is not represented among the actresses this year after Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis Davis) took home the trophy last year.
