Just when you thought you knew the many facets of General Hospital’s Jason Thompson as 2014 comes to close the actor who plays Dr. Patrick Drake on the ABC soap opera has posted his latest song “When The Storm Came”, in which he sings, and has co-written along with Josh Thorpe!
Many were aware that Jason had been working on his music of late and now its your turn to listen to “When The Storm Came” by clicking here!
You can also listen to the tune after the jump! Let us know what your thought of the song? Did you enjoy Jason vocals? Were you surprised even though many GH fans heard him sing during the Nurses Ball episodes a bit in 2013 and 2014?
nice 🙂
A shame that Jason/Patrick never sang at a Nurses Ball..
He has talent and I would like to see perform at the next Nurses ball..
Perhaps he could sing a song to Sam..
but-
poor Patrick as soon and Jason is revealed he will be kicked to the curb by Sam, that is why I do not want him with Sam..
Anyways I’d still luv it if he sang a love song, if not to Sam then to me 😉 ..
He did sing at the nurses ball for the 50th anniversary and again this year all though it was right after the nurses ball with almost everyone else else that attended t to the GH to pray for baby Gabriel..they were all in the NB clothing and all sang….
ayh well,
A group sing is not a featured solo 🙂
I would love Jasson to have a solo song, all by himself 🙂
Agreed that would be a great idea…..Its not like they never had singing doctors before right? Haha
His voice is gorgeous!! Just like him 🙂
Jason, that was Great! keep at it! <3
love this song by Jason Thompson. Very unique vocals and lyrics. Can we buy this? More please! Fantastic!!
Amazing! Very disappointing that GH hasn’t showcased his talent more!
Great voice very talented Jason thompson
love it!!!!!!!!!
Love him great voice . He needs to sing love songs . Keep singing …………………….
He as a sexy voice..
I absolutely love it!
Your voice is a beautiful surprise. No comparison to the nurses ball.
Love his voice and him. Would love to have a copy of the song.
Beautiful voice ! Love it. All the best keep going u got something amazing.
wow He got a Beautiful Voice .. Please sing a Love song to Sam on GH for uns ….
Love it!
I say this with peace and love. To quote the 1987 album release by Jack Wagner, “Don’t give up your day Job!”
Ditto
Well, if he did choose to give up his acting job, he would be fine. He’s as good as any country singer topping the charts right now. I’m sure he could be topping the charts if he wanted to as long as he had the right publicist to get his music out there.
Thats not saying much since country music today is horrible! BTW, I’m basing my opinion on one song. If he releases an album and chooses good songs, maybe I would change my mind. In any event, love him as Patrick!
Timm, glad you said it first. This sounds way too sappy for me.
Yes country pop music today is dreadful.
Gave me chills …..Makes me love him even more !
sounds like a great song to feature on GH. Love it!
Beautiful!!
how do you save a song on soundcloud?
im a big general hospital fan and Patrick is one of my favorite characters. Jason has an awesome voice and I love this song. I would love to hear Jason, Rick Springfield, and Wally Kurth sing at the nurses ball.
I wasn’t expecting the softness of his voice, and it doesn’t even sound like Jason. But this is fantastic. I loved the song. I want whole album from him!!!
Wow! No surprise but WOW! Love the song, love this guy. Love the character and love the heart he shares in this song and with his fans. Love love love!
LOVE THIS SONG HE HAS WONDERFUL VOICE
I am very impressed with is breath control and voice. He really sounds like someone I’d hear on my local country music station; very talented. I’m always glad to support the talented stars of my favorite soaps, but sometimes, they just shouldn’t sing. Jason, on the other hand, definitely has demonstrated he has the chops with this song. The lyrics are a bit weak, but not more so than a ton of other songs on the air. I think he has great potential if he’s hooked up with the right folks. Congratulations to him!!!…And I agree with the person who said they hope he sings at the next Nurses’ Ball. This song made me think of Patrick and Robin; how Patrick might think about her leaving.
I remember when he sang on those GAP commercials, makes him even more appeal able.
Love him wow what a voice. GH must let him sing to Robin when she returns.
I love it. Wish you had the time to sing more in General H.
Wow! Really good!
Great song, did not know how far his talent went. General Hospital best of TV soaps.
Good luck, jason.
LOVED IT, DIDN’T KNOW HE COULD SING SO WELL. NOW IT’S HIS TURN TO SING ON GH. SO HAPPY FOR HIM AND OF COURSE US TOO. THANKS FOR SHARING THIS LOVELY VOICE FROM A FANTASTIC ACTOR.
Sounded country…would be fun to see him do a stint as a country singer on “Nashville.”
Great idea!
This is not my genre of music…long live rock ‘n roll….but, I must admit, JT sounds great….very velvety voice.
He has an amazing voice! The song is really nice! I hope to hear it on country radio stations one day! He is a very talented man! 🙂
WoW Jason! Love the words, love the sound… Love the voice! Great actor, but hope the music gets more.
Great voice! Thinking Jason should guest star on Nashville. Maybe a permanent role.

GENERAL HOSPITAL Preview: Serena Sets Her Sights on Michael; Jason’s Emotional Exit from the Mob

This week on all-new episodes of General Hospital, new and old motivations come into play with dangerous consequences. According to the just released GH video spoilers video for the week of August 3-7, a bailiff calls out, “All rise!”
Now it’s Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson) vs. Curtis (Donnell Turner), as the surgeon is suing the owner of the Savoy for assault that ruined is ability to operate. At the end of the day, which of these men has enough evidence against the other? Portia (Brook Kerr) is by Isaiah’s side, while Jordan (Tanisha Harper) is with Curtis.
Next, Lucy (Lynn Herring) has a plan to get the controlling shares of Deception away from Michael (Rory Gibson). She wants her daughter, Serena (Kelly Kruger) to seduce Michael. She tells her, “Pick out your most seductive suit.” Soon, we see Serena in her bathing suit at the Metro Court face to face with Michael.
Later, there is a small baggie containing three blue pills. Nina (Cynthia Watros) ask Willow (Katelyn MacMullen), “What did you do?” We also see Michael asking the same thing of Jacinda (Paige Herschell). Leading into this week, viewers know that Willow doesn’t want the former escort anywhere near her children, Amelia and Wiley. Is this how she stops her, or is Jacinda up to old tricks and wants to frame Willow? Remember when Jacindsa drugged Drew (Cameron Mathison)? Stay tuned.
Finally, in the pick-up from last Friday’s cliffhanger, an emotional Jason (Steve Burton) continues to tell Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he cannot work for him anymore. Sonny ask, “So that’s it? You’re Out?” We fade to black.
Take a look at the official GH spoilers for the week below.

Vincent Pastore of ‘Sopranos’ Fame and ‘General Hospital’s’ Maximus Giambetti Dies at 80

Vincent Pastore, best known for his memorable role as Salvatore “Big Pussy” Bonpensiero on HBO’s The Sopranos has passed away.
The veteran actor was found dead on August 1st in his home in the Bronx, New York. Pastore was 80-years-old. The cause of death is yet to be determined.
As well as his role on The Sopranos, many soap fans will recall he played multiple smaller roles on the beloved One Life to Live from 1995 and 2004. However, in 2008, he landed the short-term role as Maximus Giambetti on General Hospital.

PASTORE WANTED TO BE ON GENERAL HOSPITAL
Maximus was the mobster father of Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) bodyguards: Max (Derk Cheetwood) and Milo (Drew Cheetwood)
According to Soap Opera Digest, Pastore told Soaps In Depth back in 2009, after appearing in a SOAPnet promotional campaign as a celebrity fan of General Hospital: “‘I’d love to be on the show. So they called up GH’s casting director (Mark Teschner) and Bobby (Robert Guza Jr. ex-head writer, GH) and they wrote me in!”
Pastore was a huge General Hospital fan from way back, who at one point told producers that he would watch the ABC soap opera while working in bars and nightclubs in the 70s and 80s.
Throughout his decades long career, Pastore appeared in films including: Goodfellas, Carlito’s Way and Men of Respect, The Jerky Boys: The Movie and the 1996 HBO TV movie Gotti.
In TV, besides The Sopranos, Pastore’s credits included: Law & Order, The Practice, Son of the Beach, Queens Supreme, Hawaii Five-0, Wu-Tang: An American Saga, plus the miniseries The Last Don II. Most recently, Vincent was a series regular on Gravesend and guest starred on Yellowjackets.
Pastore is survived by his daughter, Renee, son-in-law and granddaughter.
