In the final moments of Monday’s episode of General Hospital, viewers got their first glimpse of Michael Easton in his new role on the ABC soap as Dr. Hamilton Finn.

How did it all come about? Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson)!  Thanks to Monica’s concerns for Tracy’s (Jane Elliot) worsening medical condition she picks up her cell phone and dials up a medical expert she feels could really help figure out what on earth is going on with her sister-in-law.

When Monica launches into the phone exchange about how she met Hamilton and why she is calling him, fans of GH and Easton see him petting a very specific reptile, a bearded dragon!  Looks Like Dr. Finn has an intriguing taste in pets.

Watch the introduction of Easton’s new character after the jump.  Then let us know from the little you witnessed, how you surmise Hamilton to be?  The story continues with more with Easton on Today’s episode.  Share your thoughts below!

Lame! Hoping he turns out to have Cassidine connections after all.

Maybe he will be the male figure in the painting of Helena’s teapot

Perhaps he was the one who added a specific deleterious “ingredient” to Helena’s teapot, being the renowned “infectious disease specialist” that he is????” I certainly hope not, especially since I want to see the “Dragon Lady” alive and kicking for another of her cunning capers. And speaking of “dragons,” I wonder if Reptile Roxy secretes any poisonous substances????? (Would that qualify as a “service?”)

@Mary SF/ Shay.
We may joke about it, LOL…. But, I think you are both on the right track. I think there is an association between Finn snd Helena. The lizard is smack in the middle of it.
What if Helena took Silas’ body ( dead or otherwise) and created a monster?
Oh, Shay, as usual, you drew a chuckle from me. As yourself, I did liken Roxy, the Dragon to Helena, the Dragon. Are they sisters? Love your symbolism.
Then, there’s Griffin….a mind teaser….getting even weirder. Does Griffin know Claudette? Is he here for revenge? Is Griffin Nathan’s brother?

@Shay/ Mary.
I just wanted to say that I was watching ‘old’ movies on TCM, where Constance Towers was interviewed ( during the intermission) on her role in the movie SHOCK CORRIDOR (1963)…it will be shown tomorrow, if you have that network. I will DVR it….
She has such impeccable manners; is so intelligent and just beautiful inside and out ….WOW!!
Anyway, I wanted to let you know, since we share a common admiration for her.
HAPPY EASTER.

Sooooo thrilled Michael is back! I think he & his gal pal Roxy make a great couple so far. I’m just happy he’s on. Marie

I felt pretty confident that I had figured out the reason for Roxy, and the reason for Finn to keep her with him. That is until I read this thread. I began to doubt my concept due to some of the reasons posted here. Now, however I am holding to my original thoughts, and wondering only why I seem to be the only one who is thinking it. Currently I am holding back because if I post it, I may be the spoiler for those enjoying the question more than attempting a discovery of the answer, which now I believe to be correct. No hints. I will reply if I think someone is correct. We shall see.

I love it that Monica was in the center of this introduction. More Monica time!

The bearded dragon is disgusting! I thought if it were a chameleon it would symbol him not being who we thought he was and changing personalities or his identity!

Rumor has it the bearded dragon’s name is R.C.!

Below you i put Frank…lol

Great minds Jimmy!

More Monica time, indeed. Loving all of the Monica w/Tracy scenes. I loved the look of delight on Tracy’s face when Dr. Finn made the remark about his bedside manner.

Is his pet named Frank…lol

Shay mentioned Hamilton Finns possible link to David Hamilton who Laura killed hundred years ago…maybe he will have a story with Laura…wanting revenge for Davids death…David might have been his father or whatever…

About 99% of today’s viewers have no clue who David Hamilton was…the sleeze bag who used Laura to get to Leslie before Laura cracked his head open on the fireplace. And the first man Laura dumped Scotty for! But I do like that idea! Hope he isn’t Laura’s long lost son.

@Joe…That storyline long preceded my viewing of GH, too….I just recalled the mention of it in later years, as when Laura told Luke of the incident, so the name, David Hamilton, stuck in my mind. (I had to look it up online for the details…..) As you have explained, he was the first of Laura’s many ill-fated mishaps with unsavory men through the years…..talk about setting the template for future failures!

I hope he isnt her son too…

I am in the 1 %! That was the storyline that got me watching the “stories” after school with my mama, Tias and Abulas! It must have been 1975?

I remember the love letter written by Laura it was ripped up but the letter “L” was torn up thrown in the air and found in the chandelier. That was the proof they used to throw Leslie in the clink and she took the wrap! Laura had forgortten it!

This again was long befor Luke or Scotty !

Fabulous soap days- thanks for remembering!

I remember it well. I was home from school sick. David told Laura that he never loved her and some other nasty things. Laura cracked his head open–with a bookend? Leslie discovered her, and David’s dead body. Leslie took the blame and was in jail until the guilt caused Laura to almost break. I loved that storyline! I’ve loved Laura, Leslie and Rick ever since.

How could Michael Easton playe Genie Frances’s son when he is about her age, give or take a couple of years? It’s bad enough she is playing the mother of Nikolas when Tyler Christopher is only ten years younger than Genie (but looks her age at least).
I was thinking he could play a love interest for Laura–Good Lord, her son?
That would be ridiculous.

It’s most likely too much to ask that he would have some connection to the show’s history, but I love the idea.

Correction. David tore up her love letters and threw them into the air and laughed at her. She pushed him and he fell into the fireplace head first and died.

The old days, the late 70s and early 80s, were my favorite times. Love Rick and Leslie, Alan and Monica, Scotty and Laura. Of course, I loved Luke and Laura, too. When Laura killed David, she took off and Scotty went and saved her. Seems like he keeps saving her.

Those were the days. Monica Q deciding to have Leslie’s hubby Rick, Amy Vining and nurse Lucille. Aunt Ruby. Good times.

Monica, Tracy, and Dillon had some great scenes in this episode. Tracy asking Monica to be healthcare directive cause she won’t make sentimental decision like Ned/Dillon and Monica responded by saying if she thinks she doesn’t care about her she couldn’t be more wrong was such a powerful moment. Monica leaving the room and fighting back tears was another heartfelt moment and her talk with Dillon in the hallway was just great with him telling her that he knows his mom loves her. The hug that Monica and Dillon shared was touching. I also like Dillon on the phone with Ned and could feel the emotion. Excellent stuff in this storyline all day.

Finn appeared to be more stylish and a little dark based on a short first impression so nothing like Silas. I don’t know what to think about the reptile but it certainly intrigued me. I am sticking to my guns that he is going to end up being a Cassadine with the never seen but once discussed Valentin being the likely option. I just keep going back to last month when Nikolas told Hayden that Wyndemere would always be his cause he’s the oldest living Cassadine heir. This was major foreshadowing to me and around the time ME starting taping again so something has gotta come from that line. It would also give ME a new group to interact with (Nikolas, Hayden, Laura) cause Silas didn’t cross paths with those three characters. He may go by Finn for the time being but Stavros went by the name Lucien when he was introduced so he could be using an alias as well.

I am so glad that Griffin seems to be on the right track when it comes to Tracy and Mayes had egg on his face for being showed up by the younger doctor. I am pleased that Tracy doesn’t have cancer but Mayes was so rude to Griffin and so disrespectful to Dillon with him being certain it was cancer.

Go Nina! I loved the moment when our GH women (I wish Sexy Sam was there) took their shirts off in the courtroom to make a statement and finally I got some enjoyment out of this breastfeeding storyline. Diane admitting to Alexis she let her win was funny and glad she’s headed back to Team Corinthos.

Go Nina again! She hired Curtis to be her PI and find out who is sabotaging Crimson. He got the results for Hayden pretty quick so he should be able to nail Julian in due time.

Jay….Feel much the same about this episode for a change. Actually laughed when Carly opened the courtroom door, starting the nursing moms and the supportive black, lacy reveals.

Good post. But Diane didn’t really let Alexis win…just teased Alexis while saving face. Love their friendship which used to be so fun when Diane was on the show regularly. That’s another thing GH needs more of…friendships!

Seriously, a fifty second clip of him sitting at a desk and what did we think? The attention being paid to this return, starting with the ridiculous promo that the rest of the cast was duped into doing is just ridiculous.

But what did I think, I think he has the same low, unexpressive voice and they have to give him a pet lizard to try and give him a personality which says a lot.

No matter how much anyone pretends that Michael Easton is a big deal, it’s not going to happen. This return also came at the end of an episode that is so telling of how GH is right back to the ridiculous camp and nonsense that had so many tune out. The courtroom scenes were an embarrassment.

We should all know by now that RC wasn’t solely responsible for the cartoonish and ridiculous tone the show took on. The women taking off their shirts, especially Nina with that awkward display, (which btw, why is Stafford playing Nina as mentally and physically challenged, it’s offensive) was just so embarrassing, I can’t imagine the mentality that it appeals to or that writes it. Then we top off the episode with try number five for the OLTL actor stroking a lizard. Yeah, those ratings are just going to go through the roof.

Obviously it appeals to your mentality since you watch and complain about it more than most people.

I’m right there with her. GH was marvelous for decades. And now it might have a couple of good scenes a week. It’s easy to critique and complain about. And Michelle Stafford IS playing Nina in a really weird way.

I think the breast feeding story rivals the worst of RC’s terrible writing.
And I will KEEP complaining, as I imagine AJQ will. So get used to it.

So then there is a simple solution. If you go to a restaurant and you dont like the food, do you keep going there? You may post an online review saying how bad it was, then in most likelihood not go there again. Or you may at some point give it another try but if you still dont like it you stop going. You don’t post a daily review complaining about how bad it is do you?

But some people will watch a soap every day, then come here and complain. I’d ask why they watch every day but I think I just answered my questions, they want to be able to come on the internet and complain.

Well Sean, you’ve obviously given this a lot of thought and taken the time to express your thoughts so I’ll help you out.

First, your analogy of a restaurant is flawed. As opposed to a TV show, to go to a restaurant means exactly that, you physically go. So you take time, you travel and then you eat a meal and on top of that you pay money for it.

A soap on the other hand magically appears for free on your TV, you don’t have to move from your chair, you don’t have to physically consume anything, and you don’t pay for it.

That brings us to your point of watching every day and how people actually watch it. There always seems to be this idea from people, like you, that putting on a soap takes some massive commitment and demands a full hour of undivided attention.

I have a TV on in my office during the day. I like to have background noise while I’m working and distractions every now and then so that I can take short breaksfrom my work. During the day I’ll have on anything from MSNBC, CNN, Kelly & Michael, The local noon news, The View, The Michael Kay show on YES, and at 3pm, I’ll often flip to GH. Not every day, sometimes because I just don’t feel like watching it, sometimes I’m not in my office at that time or I have work I need to concentrate on, or a meeting etc.

The days I do have GH on, sometimes it is on for the hour, it’s in the background, Franco & Nina aren’t on that day stinking it up so might not be so offensive that I have to get it off my screen. A lot of times it isn’t on for the hour, I’ll tune out after a couple of segments because it’s pretty bad, sometimes I flip back and forth to news or sports and catch bits and pieces over the course of the hour. So it varies.

But your idea that everyone puts GH on every day, at the beginning and gives it their undivided attention for a full hour isn’t correct in my case and I would assume a lot of other people and your analogy to GOING to a restaurant and PAYING for a bad meal that you PHYSICALLY INGEST is not a logical one.

In that case if you don’t give it your full attention then you shouldn’t be complaing about it every day.

A soap does not “magically” appear on your screen. You have to chose to put that program on

I just don’t get it, for over years now you have been on various sites complaining about GH. If I dislike a show that much I do the simple thing turn the channel.

The show seems to make you so miserable, yet you still take the time to write about it every day which tells me that is your sole purpose of watching teh show.

My restaurant analogy is not flawed. It is the same of buying anything from a store, etc. If you dont like it you don’t buy it. If you dont like a tv program most people will not bother with it.

You say you dont pay attention but yet you point out every flaw in the show, so either you are making things up to complain about or you are paying attention to allow you to come here and complain every day

then if you dont give it your full attention then you cant give a critique that means anything because you yourself say yo don’t pay attention. But you obviously do since you point every little flaw the show us and have done so for 4 years now. there are plenty of other programs that you might enjoy that you could put on “in the background”but you chose GH for the specific point of come here to complain about the show that “magically”comes on for free. Umm yea last i checked you have to chose to put it on that channel

I’m with you Sean…and your restaurant analogy was appropro.

AJQ…Nina is not “physically” or “mentally” challenged. Physically she’s able-bodied and stunning. Mentally she is coming off a 20-year coma. Caused by her mother. Lost two decades of her life. She’s since evolved into a strong woman with a creative mind, and has become an adept problem solver all while still dealing with the traumatic events of her life. Considering how disgruntled and angry some get over the fictitious world of GH, I thiink Nina is doing remarkably well comparativelly!

Sean and Rebecca, you’re both way off the mark here.
Listen up–those of us who complain about GH have been watching for years, and therefore, we have invested not only time into this show, we’ve invested our emotions. Yes, we get to complain and I do not abide by this love it or leave it mentality which some of you attempt to thrust down our throats.
It actually really pisses me off when you attempt to censor those who do not jump up and down with utter adulation for a show that we’ve watched for many many years. AJQ is spot on right here in my opinion and she/he does not deserve to be shut down for expressing his/her opinion.
And Rebecca, while I usually respect your opinion the simple truth is that Stafford has made some really puzzling acting choices in her portrayal of Nina. When she is not chewing up the scenery with her over acting, she is cowering in the corner like a scared child. In my opinion, Stafford is a colossal flop as Nina.

The breast feeding in public controversy seems very antiquated and totally ridiculous. They think they’re making the women look self actualized and strong but in reality they’re making them look just plain silly. Put a blanket over the baby’s face and the nursing breast when breastfeeding in public and there is no controversy. Yes, it’s that simple and yes, it’s a matter of social etiquette to adhere to the cultural climate.
If they really want this group of hens to address the sky which is falling, then address real issues which are equal pay for equal work and how women are shut out of the tech industry. The breast feeding issue is a non issue and makes me feel it is 1976, not 2016 and not in a good way.

Likewise Harry, I usually respect your opinion…or at least the inoffensive way you express it. However, in this case, not so much. I don’t need to be reprimanded…I didn’t tell AJQ not to express her opinion or to turn GH off. But AJQ is extremely sarcastic on most of her replys to anyone who disagrees with her. Ironically, unbeknownst to her it seems, I defended her on another post weeks ago when she seemed under attack. However, I have since been on the receiving end of her snark on the thread about Eastman’s promo.

Sean IS right. He neither told AJQ to stop watching GH or to stop posting, but he did question why someone would continue to do both when every post is a complaint…and I thought his restaurant analogy fitting. If I had mixed feelins about something I might continue on with whatever it was; if I felt repeatedlty negative I’d let it go. Makes sense to me.

As for you, this may be our first spat but let me be clear…don’t insinuate something about me or put words in my mouth. A: I’ve been watching GH for years too. LOL…not that it matters in the scope of life and what’a really important, but for the purpose of this discussion don’t throw that in my direction. You don’t own the corner on being a GH fan. B: No one in the post, particularly me, tried to cram anything down anyone’s throat with a love it or leave it mentality. Actuually, it
s the other way around. If someone dares likes a character who isn’t a GH legacy character or comes from OLTL, we’re accuserd of not being true GH fans. It’s petty and juvenile. It’s a freaking show and anyone is entitled to like any actor, regardless of his/her roots…and doesn’t need to be condescended to. So…don’t. And AJQ isn’t “right” as youo say. You agree with her…and that’s fine. As I agreed with Sean.

As for Nina…I like her. She’s evolving and I’m curious to see where her character goes. Would I be upset if the character was booted from the show? Not so much. But I think there is a vast improvement in character growth and while she’s far from my favorite…I think Michelle is doing a fine job for the role of a woman lost…finding herself.

As for the breastfeeding story it is relevant today…not just 1976 as you say. It still makes the news…was a big thing recently between Adele and Jamie Oliver..and an issue for Trump too. May not make scintillating soap…but the GH bit was light, relevant and gave the women of GH a little moment of sisterly solidarity. It also set the stage for Alexis and perhaps future problems with Mayor Lomax…should that ever come to fruition.

In closing…we’ll always have AJ… :/

Handsome! Interesting!! I can’t wait to learn more!!! So grateful he is back!!!

IT IS GOOD TO SEE HIM BACK….HOPE HE BRINGS AN INTERESTING STORY LINE BECAUSE GH NOW AS SO MANY SOO NOT INTERESTING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT IS BEST TO RECORD AND FAST FORWARD…

Hi Laura-

Do you think he has had any “help” getting a bit more handsome?

No judgement – he just didn’t need it!

I don’t think Michael has had any “work”done. He doesn’t look like he did…and doesn’t seem like the kind of person who would do anything even if he did. He’s busted his nose three times and never fixed it…and if you look at him before so much damage you’ll see that even though he’s still very good-looking he was even more so. I think he just looks rested, cut his hair (I think it’s darker) and gained some weight. He looks great…has that sensual look as always.

I’m happy to see ME return but not as a quirky doctor. He had played a doctor previously so I would have preferred him in any other type role instead.

First of all, Hamilton Finn is a terrible name. I thought Silas Clay was bad, and I’m not sure who came up with this one, but it’s definitely worse.

Second, I’m not super impressed that Michael Easton is back in a totally new role. I would have preferred if he joined the cast as an already established character, like Thomas Hardy or Valentin Cassadine or heck, even a recast Steve Webber.

And third, what’s up with his pet lizard? I’m not sure where they’re going with this character but I really hope he doesn’t end up being a wash like Silas, and hopefully there will be a connection to the canvas that comes up, like how they tied Griffin to Duke as his son.

You are hilarious! The names are ridiculous!

They are as fake as that facelift!

see what I wrote to you above…don’t think there’s any lift…other than what many of us feel when seeing him! lol…

Its Michael Easton. Pretty much guaranteed to put me in a coma unless he’s playing crazy. Has to be a better use of $.

So happy to see ME back.

I’m looking forward to having ME back on screen..
I can only hope he will be written well and not stupidly (a whole lot of stupid scripts are being played out) and that this time around he will get some meaty drama the kind that makes me go WOW! .. Easton is at his best when he is a bit on the darkside ..
I can only wish his character as doctor Finn will be mysterious. exciting, intelligent and gripping..
bottom line; GH doesn’t need another boring saint..

Su…just a thought. Whose to say you can’t be a doctor and long lost Cassidine with an agenda?

Really, Rose!….I’m expecting the mysterious Dr. Finn to be a multi-layered character…..and not just a wonderfully weird and eccentric infectious disease specialist with a penchant for reptilian pets! There is definitely much more to him than meets the eye! (And speaking of that, what’s up with the Naomi Dreyfus-Berlin thing? Please tell me that Hayden, Rachel, whatever….is not related to that great GH legacy grifter galore, Holly Sutton Scorpio! Bilking people was her specialty. I realize that may be out-of-the-box thinking, but I’m racking my brain trying to decide who else from Port Charles past could have elicited such a shocked response from LIz when their identity was revealed online….are there any other formidable femmes from former days who could be a suitable suspect??? I was so focused upon whom was Hayden’s Daddy-O that I never considered her maternal origins.)

My initial gut reaction is it’s kind of disappointing that Michael is playing another doctor. I was hoping for something different. Like I know a lot of people were hoping he might be the often spoken about, but still yet unseen Valentin Cassadine, which would have been really fun.

But who knows, maybe he still could be. Hamilton Finn is such an over the top, almost fake sounding name, that I’m hoping it’s an alias, and over time we’re gonna find out he’s really someone else.

I know a lot of people will pass their judgment already after one scene, but like all new characters on the show, I’m gonna give it some time and see what develops. I don’t think Michael would have agreed to come back to play another boring doctor, so I have to think they have something good in mind. I like Michael, so I hope they actually write some interesting stories for him this time.

So far I’m liking GH right now. I’ll suspend reality about Silas Clay…just love Michael being back, and the Q’s, Griffin, and Brad in Drs. Mayes and O’s faces. Wonder what O’s problem is? Is it more that usurping her authority, or something else? I really had some comic relief with the breast feeding court case, and the Crimson comeback. Love to see Alexis and Diane in court. Have wanted Maxie and Crimson to help add a little glamor to Port Charles. And it gives something for Nina to do. And now with Val and the PI, Julian will get outed. All of these giving a lift to the otherwise serious Morgan/Kiki story. And Helena is still causing her havoc, maybe from the crypt, or not. Ahh…hopefully spring has come with some good, new stories that tie things together better. 🙂

Well said.

GH has been really good since the start of 2016.

I’m enjoying GH more these days too Rose. I love Matt Cohen and am wondering if he’ll play the good doctor to balance out the good from the “evil” or not-so-upstanding characters…which is part of the role Patrick played. And the good guys ARE needed! Or, will he be involve in a total y different direction…

As you already know I’m completely happy Michael’s back and I feel from the little I’ve seen I’m going to love his character…

It’s been great having Monica back and her presence should be required!

The mystery oh Helena and Laura’s invovement ala the key has potential and plays into Cassadine craziness from days of yore. I hope they don’t screw it up.

I like how Nina’s evolving. Giving her Crimson was a great idea and it’s interesting to see how a woman deprived of so much of her life is taking it back. She’s on her way to becoming a strong character…

All in all…they’re on the right track if they can keep the momentum going before fan apathy causes GH to derail….

I’m going to wait n see, I’m not sure they should of made him another doctor but let’s see what happens. Maybe most of us are stuck thinking he’s better suited playing a cop but it’s not fair after only one episode .

quirks, oddity, flamboyant, delves in to his own inner sanctum

defines himself as creature of habit…

snap out of it… if Ava and Hayden are in your realm of manning up

Is he supposed to be a Bond villain?

Classic Michael Easton. I like the pet! I loved the way, Finn said “Go on”, so pleased Michael is back!!!

btw- I’m hoping Finn will interact with Nina. I always found Michael Easton had this great ability to balance out Michelle Stafford’s random quirky side. Looking forward to what I hope, is a “reunion” of sorts for Michael & Michelle.

So far, I have been enjoying this new Dr. Finn character too.

I liked the way Hamilton Finn carried himself. He appeared arrogant, but it was subtle.

Totally agree

I really enjoyed Hamilton Finn’s introduction in this episode. Welcome back Michael Easton.

There are still a lot of “conspiracy therys” floating around out there about who Hamilton Finn “really” is.
I hope he’s jus Hamilton Finn and NO ONE ELSE!
I don’t want another evil Cassadine who’s Nathan’s daddy or some other far-fetched character. Let him just be a doctor!

I know. I do not want him tied to Helena or Ashton or whoever. I hope he had nothing to do with Tracy’s illness in the first place. I’m hoping the lizard isn’t his own personal laboratory for evil serums. Please (writers) just let him be a cookie, quirky doctor and build new stories from that.

I need to see more before I can comment on his character.

I agree!

I’m happy to see Michael back on the show. I was not happy with the reptile gimmick because I don’t like “wacky” on the soaps. I was disappointed that the characters all referenced Finn’s resemblance to Silas. It would have been a cleaner entry to just let it go unremarked upon. If the other characters treat him like a brand new character with no baggage it’s easier for the audience to accept him – unless the resemblance comes into story play later. This quibbling aside, I think Easton is a valuable asset to the show and look forward to seeing what he’ll do with this role. Long live GH!

@ Mister Media, I too had hoped that the resemblance to Silas would have not been addressed by select characters, thus far. Like you said, perfectly, “it would have a cleaner entry to just let it go unremarked upon.” Oh well, what’s done is done. Happy ME is back, too!

I just can’t shake the feeling that the ridiculous name and the eccentric choice of pet was the sum total of the thought put into this character…

He is a Cassadine and love love love it!

Aside from the fact how silly it is when the other characters casually mention how identical he looks to Silas, who was told how identical he looked to McBain…, I just have to believe they’re breaking the wall to let us in on the joke. But!!! I absolutely LOVED seeing Michael and I totally believed him as this mysterious, dark-seeming doctor. I didnt get a sense of Silas. Michael looked great, seemed like he’d gained some weight (he seemed thinner than his usual thin self as Silas). He had swag…attitude…. love the new role and Easton. Soooo glad he’s back! He had me at hello!

Rebecca…If this is what it takes to get MIchael back on GH, I just decided to have fun with this, too. And when you look back at some of the other storylines and characters GH has given us over the years, the new Finn/Silas/vampire look-alike (with no explanation so far), fits right in with Casey the alien. I’m still holding out some hope he is a Cassidine who went to med school.

Lol…I’m open to all possibilities Rose. I really felt a rush when he appeared. Just something about this actor that evokes joy…even when he’s sullen, somber and dark! Go figure!

I can’t take this show seriously anymore.

In a word Stupid !

Well intriguing. .jean passanante has a strange knack of writing a well rounded doctor with a strange name. .i.e. reid Oliver who came between luke and noah on atwt..a smug smart-ass know it all. .and that will be Hamilton Finn this go round on gh so don’t be shocked when you like him/hate him. .lol

OK-
some are believing that Finn is a Cassidine..
I wish it were true but do not see how that could be now.

Finn’s backstory has been established by Monica.
Her knowing of him and meeting him. Finn is now established as an renowned expert on infectious diseases..
It is a long road in the medical field specializing to become a Doctor of his high stature..

That being, then his being a Cassidine is extremely farfetched.. lol
(( I mean–psssst what kinda Cassidine is that, anyways!

Is he from Shriner’s Childrens Hospital?

Amazing how he looks like the dead Doctor who looked like the vampire who looked like the detective from Llanview. I find it a bit amusing they would name that iguana Roxy (as in Foxy Roxy), and diagnose Tracy with brain worms on his first episode. Let’s blame the worms on Mexico! I’m already looking forward to Easton’s fifth character.

hey Joe..
wouldn’t it be 3 characters??

Easton; GH–
John McBain (short lived Prospect Park lawsuit..
then–
Caleb alter ego of Michael Morley (alternate identity)
Stephen Clay (alternate identity)
All ^^^^ the same 3 guys
Then Silas ..
LOL 🙂

He also started days of our lives in the 90s he was on it for about a year . I think he was twins? Tanner and Janner? Don’t really remember details?

Lol…agree Joe. I noted “Roxie” too…a nod to Foxy Roxy. Funny!

Hamilton Renee Goldsberry (Evangeline) who stars in the Broadway production of Hamilton.

Hi Olivia…you might be right as to why they chose Hamilton. From what I recall Michael and Renee became good friends on OLTL. I mentioned this on another post but I met her in an organic marjet in Manhattan…she’s very nice.

For su0000: Easton played: 1) Caleb/Stephen Clay. 2) John McBain. 3) Silas Clay. 4) Hamilton Finn. When they kill off Ham Finn, he’ll probably come back for character #5. That’s what I was referring to. I think Easton may have a soap record for the most characters played on one soap opera.

Joe is right

I thought the first scene with the dragon was a it odd, but I liked his interactions with Tracy. He was confident, clear on his knowledge, and had sense of humor, unlike Silas. I’m just so glad that ME is back on screen… I will wait until his character is fleshed out before worrying too much.

Wouldn’t it have been cool if he was Dr. Rick Webber, Jr. That would’ve made more sense for Monica to call him. Or, he could have been a Hardy. Maybe he’s a Cassadine? I just want some tie to history. We have too many characters now that have no ties to the show (Nina, Liesel, Franco, Jordan, Curtis). History matters. It’s a great way for the audience to connect with the character even more.

I agree – history does matter! These are all great ideas; hopefully one is in the works.

Not watching, but my twitter feed was all about the lizard, not him. “Roxy” is the most-buzzed-about new character GH has had in years, lol

Now both GH and Y&R each have their eccentric, not-typical new doctors…and they are both Michael’s. Love Y&R’s Dr. Neville , especially with Ashley. And so far I’m liking Doc Finn. Hope GH and Y&R can keep up writing good stories for both of these talented actors.

I honestly cannot believe that I’m watching a show about a f*****g lizard. Such poor judgement; such a waste of time and talent. Long live….ahhh, screw it.

Oh Roxy is a service animal. That’s great. Of course we all want to know what service Roxy serves!

Well if you are going to have a Doctor with a lizard, love the fact they honored OLTL by naming her Roxy. Finn is definitely creepy so he just may last especially, if he’s really Valentin.

Sorry, but every time that I see Michael, all I can think of is John and how much I still miss JOLIE and OLTL. ABC, it’s ridiculous that you can’t get those rights back and resurrect the best soap ever. Still so disappointed. So missing JOLIE, Vicky, Bo & Nora, Blair and Todd, Roxy, Jessica and the list goes on. These are true characters that I loved and can root for.

My goodness Gentry, you are pulling at my heartstrings! Loved , loved Jolie on OLTL? Can we have Melissa Archer join Michael Easton on GH? I would be thrilled..

Heck yes those two are magic and need to be reunited again!

Has there ever beeen a lesbian kiss in a soap? (Christina and Parker)

OLTL should be resurrected, it was the best soap on daytime. Somewhere along the line the writers and producers lost their way and forgot about the show’s ground breaking history.

Awesome to see the great Bearded Dragon pet lizard on TV! They make great pets and until you meet one it’s hard to understand. So easy to care for and so portable!
Roxy needs a Beardie Bag! Don’t be dragg’in that dragon…carry Roxy in style!!

‘General Hospital’s’ Dominic Zamprogna Shares He Was ‘Happy to Hear’ of The Triangle Storyline Developing Between Dante/Elizabeth/Ric

Dominic Zamprogna

General Hospital’s Dominic Zamprogna (Dante Falconeri) opened up about the burgeoning love triangle forming between his Port Charles alter-go, Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) and Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) after recently aired scenes, plus his hopes for the future of a Dante and Liz pairing, during his appearance on the Sunday, April 23 edition of the That’s Awesome podcast with Steve Burton (Jason Morgan) and Bradford Anderson (Spinelli).

On last week’s episodes of GH, Ric has made the decision that he wanted to propose to his ex-wife, only when he showed up at Elizabeth’s front door, he misread the scenario he walked in with Liz tending to Dante’s injured leg from the softball game. From there, the legal eagle’s jealous streak is reemerging which may cause him to act out and do something unforgivable, or will he take the high road? Stay tuned.

Speaking with Steve Burton and Bradford Anderson about where Elizabeth stands in the annals of the long-running soap, Zamprogna said, “She’s up there with Steve and Maurice (Maurice Benard) as one of the most legacy-filled people on the show.”

HOW DANTE AND ELIZABETH CAME ABOUT

Dominic jokes it’s a far cry for where Dante and Elizabeth previously, recalling, “We had some scenes together years ago and we were both laughing. Becky’s like, ‘Well, I guess we’re not going be paired up anytime soon.’ I remember we laughed immediately after they yelled ‘cut,”‘and said to each other, ‘Well, so much for that!'”

Fast-forward to early 2025 and as Zamprogna remembered it, “Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) came up to me at the General Hospital Christmas party, and I think it was a year and a half ago and she said, ‘We’re going to have you in scenes with Elizabeth,’ My internal monologue is going, ‘I’m not with Lulu (Alexa Havins) anymore and Sam’s (Kelly Monaco) gone, so maybe they want to see if this works.’ I didn’t want to get scenes with Becky and try to find the chemistry. I just wanted to play whatever honestly was written and came across for both of us and hope it was what people liked, and I don’t know if it is … or not.”

Knowing how beloved Elizabeth is to the GH faithfuls, Zamprogna added, “She got a big fan base with Ric … and a big fan base with with Jason … and you know, you’re going to piss somebody off. But, didn’t Ric drug Elizabeth and put Carly in a panic room?”

DANTE AND ELIZABETH PAIRING COULD STIR UP STORY FOR OTHERS IN PORT CHARLES

In closing, Dominic felt that the wide-reaching tentacles of a Dante and Elizabeth relationship is something he is 100% down for. “The triangle thing; I was happy to hear it was with Ric and her, because I felt it’s important to have her the top of it as opposed to Dante, Lulu and Elizabeth.”

Zamprogna added, “When you get into relationships on a soap, things seem to fizzle out a little bit, The buildup is what’s the fun part, and the getting to know each other, and the people who are affected by this coming together. When with this case it’s going to affect: Ric, Sonny, Lulu. There’s so much more story here. To me, it’s going to be a fun story to play.”

You can check out Dominic’s visit to That’s Awesome with Steve and Bradford below.

Now weigh-in: Are you rooting for Dante and Liz, or Dante and Ric at this juncture of the story, or neither guy  for Elizabeth? Let us know your thoughts and picks via the comment section.

GH and OLTL Alum Patrick J. Gibbons Reveals the Story Behind Writing Trina’s Song on ‘General Hospital’ (Exclusive)

Patrick J. Gibbons

At the conclusion of today’s August 21 episode of General Hospital, Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) sings a lullaby to baby Dez, that went into a montage to close out the episode as her father Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) reports to Pentonville and winds up in his jail cell.

However, in a fun fact, the song entitled, “A Lonely Heart To Give” was actually written by none other than former One Life to Live and General Hospital actor, Patrick J. Gibbons.

Daytime fans first met Gibbons as Sam Manning on One Life to Live. At the time, when he started on the soap, he was just 5-years-old. Gibbons played the part from 2010-2013 on ABC and Prospect Park’s editions of the show. Fast-forward to 2018, Gibbons shows up on General Hospital as Wyatt Hoover, the scout who seemed always be injured, but in the thick of the drama. Patrick had appeared on GH multiple times as Wyatt including: 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023.

FROM HIS GRANDMOTHER’S DEATH CAME THE INSPIRATION FOR HIS SONG

Now in 2026, General Hospital fans are getting to learn about another side of Gibbons’ talent as a songwriter and guitar player after “A Lonely Heart to Give” debuted today! Michael Fairman TV caught up with Patrick, who is now a senior at Penn State entering his final year as a finance major, to get the back-story of how his song wound up on GH!

Gibbons explained he wrote the song in honor of his grandmother who passed away a few years ago with whom he was, very, very close with. “Randomly, my grandmother had a downfall and passed away during the second semester of my sophomore year. I was in my dorm a lot and I was just playing with my guitar. And at the time, I was really into finger-style playing. I wrote the lyric and music to it (with a little help from my guitar teacher Lou), and my mom showed the rough demo to Frank Valentini (EP, General Hospital). He’s like an uncle to me. Frank loved it so much he said, “Finish that up. I want to hear the whole thing, and I want it on the show.”

MAKING MUSIC FOR GENERAL HOSPITAL

Gibbons and his parents took the next steps! “So now, all we needed was a female voice, because I thought that would fit the song well,” Patrick shared. “At the golf club we go to my parents were at a dinner. They liked the singer that was performing and spoke to her about the song, and she says she would like to bring it to her ‘boss’ who ended up being Eric Bazilian of the Hooters fame!” (Bazilian also wrote the smash hit song “One of Us” for Joan Osborne).

Next, “We went in the studio and recorded it and the song came together and it was beautiful. We loved it. They loved it at General Hospital and now they’re putting it the show and they are coming in with a piano, instead of a guitar. Paul Glass, the GH musical director, has been keeping us updated over the last six months of how it was coming along, and when it would air, and how GH put their own arrangement to it. I can’t wait to see and hear what they did with it.”

PATRICK’S ONE LIFE TO LIVE FAMILY

Everyone knows that the One Life to Live extended family share a very tight bond, and Patrick said he does stay in touch with a few of his former One Life to Live co-stars, especially those from the Manning family! “I stayed in touch with Kassie DePaiva (ex-Blair) and sent her little videos here and there. She was like my second mom for five years. We keep in contact with Kristen Alderson (ex-Starr) over X the most, and she can’t believe how big I’ve gotten. Like, none of them can! (laughs). I also loved working with Roger Howarth (ex-Todd) and Trevor St. John (ex-Todd and Victor Jr.), and to me since I was so young, they were just my friends, ‘Roger and Trevor,’ not Todd Manning or Victor Jr.”

It was a trip to California and a visit to Port Charles that ultimately led to Gibbons second soap role of Wyatt Hoover. Patrick explains, “In 2016, Frank Valentini invited us out to Los Angeles to visit the set of General Hospital. I think he heard me say, ‘This is so much fun. I miss being on the set.’ He goes, ‘You should come out. I’ll bring you on the show. We can make you a character.'”

A few years later, Patrick’s dream became a reality! “Then, by the summer of 2018, I was playing Wyatt, the scout, and shared scenes with Wes Ramsey (Peter August), and the best was when I shared a scene with Roger Howarth and Michael Easton (ex-John, OLTL and ex-Silas, Finn et al, GH), it was like chemistry from the old days.”

IT’S ALL IN THE NUMBERS

As to his future aspirations, it’s a career in the finance game that has piqued Gibbons’ real-life interest. But never say never to a return to acting. Patrick explained, “I’ve always enjoyed numbers. And on top of that, one of the biggest parts of finance is being personable and outgoing.”

He continued, “That’s one of the greatest skills I developed growing up. I really love the markets. I’m super interested. I’m never going to close the door to acting. I’m always open to that because I just love it so much. It’s such a great art.”

Take note! If there are any investment bankers or private equity folks among the GH faithful looking for a young analyst next year, Patrick’s DMs are open. You can find him on X at @PatrickJGibbons.

So, what did you think of the song sung by Trina on today’s GH that was written by Patrick J. Gibbons? Did you enjoy Patrick’s performances as One Life’s Sam and GH’s Wyatt? Would you like to see him back on GH at some point? Let us know via the comment section.

‘General Hospital’ Alum Chad Duell Admits That He Didn’t Expect the Role of Michael Corinthos to be Recast, and Would Consider Working on Another Soap (Exclusive)

Published

By

Chad Duell, the Daytime Emmy-winning actor, who stepped away from the pivotal role of Michael Corinthos on General Hospital, opened up about: his previous decision to leave the series after nearly 15 years, where’s he’s at now after time away from the demands of a daytime soap opera, and took a stroll down memory lane with some of Michael’s most-acclaimed storyline during his run, during a livestream chat on August 19 on You Tube’s Michael Fairman Channel.

Viewers last saw Duell on-screen as Michael in January of 2025, and with his successor in the role, Rory Gibson making his debut at the GH Nurses’ Ball in episodes that aired later in May. It was clear that during the conversation, Chad was a bit surprised that the GH brass decided to recast him when he thought he was just taking some much needed time off.

Burn-out of the daily grind of being on a soap was definitely a part of Chad’s decision to take a break. Duell explained “People know when you’re doing something for so long or your character is kind of in the same place for so long or doing the same stuff over and over again, you do get a a little burnt out, you get a little stiff, stale, a little stiff at times. I didn’t want that to be any sort of lasting impression. I have 15 years of a body of work of I’ve done on that show, which is fantastic.”

WHILE CHAD WAS AWAY GH RECAST MICHAEL CORINTHOS WITH RORY GIBSON

Chad shared, his mindset when leaving GH was, “I’m taking some time away, we’ll see what happens.” Then he added, “Obviously, they decided to go in a different direction with Michael when I was gone. I didn’t think they were going to bring somebody back in my place. But you know, it’s the business. You never know what can happen.”

Duell also shared he has not watched a single episode of General Hospital since he left the series, but now feels he reenergized following the loss of his father and stepping away from the GH, “I’m in a place now mentally, where I’m ready to sink my teeth into it again.”

Even though he is no longer Michael on GH, Chad was very happy with his final storyline where Michael was set on fire when a bomb exploded at Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) penthouse. “It was fun to put him in a dangerous situation, because I was wanting Michael to be in something scary instead of trying to be a hero character or just things happening around him, but to be the center point of tragedy happening to him. (I always saw) Michael as the heart of the (Corinthos) family.”

When Michael was badly burned the show chose not burn his face, which normally a soap does when they are recasting role and switching actors. Chad weighed-in, “They didn’t burn my face because I told Frank Valentini (EP, GH) I’m willing to come back. It was just a little bit of a break. So, I assumed that if they would have burned my face, they could have brought somebody back looking different than me… if that’s what their plan was.”

MEMORABLE MICHAEL STORYLINES

One of Chad’s most memorable performances was the in the storyline of Michael’s rape while he was sentenced to prison in 2010 and the confession of it in 2011. “It was so well-written and I was very nervous,” recalled Chad. “When I get really nervous about something, it ends up being really good when I do it, because it just means I care a lot about it”

“I have to put a lot of effort and work into it, and I really want it to be good.  I was working with Dominic  Zamprogna (Dante) and Steve Burton (Jason) a lot during those scenes, and Laura Wright (Carly). It was great working with Steve and Dominic, especially, during that storyline.

A NEW SOAP ROLE FOR CHAD?

As to a future soap opera role, Chad is open to the idea and would love to jump back in to a juicy role, “I know people over at The Bold and the Beautiful, and The Young and the Restless. They know that if they’re interested, I would love to come in for a screen test or something, and they can see what I’m doing.”

Meanwhile, Chad has been busy putting out new music under the moniker Duelly and during the interview he explains how he creates his EDM tracks and much more. You can stream his latest single, Static in the Quiet Room on Spotify, Apple Music and You Tube Music.

You can check out the full conversation with Chad Duell below.

Now let us know: what show would you like to see Chad cast on down the line? BTG, DAYS, B&B, Y&R, or a new role on GH?
