On-Air On-Soaps caught up with some of the dazzling stars of Revenge, and the executive behind the scenes, to get some inside scoops of what is to come, how they like working with each other, why the series has become such a runaway hit, their thoughts on daytime soaps, and of course, some dishy and fun tidbits!  So far you have read our chats with Emily VanCamp (Emily), Madeline Stowe (Victoria) and Henry Czerny (Conrad) and how those steamy stars truly know how to show us … The art of revenge!

Today, we have for you two of the steamiest cast members who play the heartthrobs of Revenge, Josh Bowman and Nick Weschler.  These guys on-screen alter-egos, Daniel Grayson and Jack,Porter, are all kinds of mixed up over Emily and her games!  But who is the ultimate man for her?   We chatted with the handsome duo to get their thoughts on the hit ABC primetime soap that is also becoming an international sensation from England to Australia!

Josh, being from England, it’s amazing how the English love soaps!  Do you think that is why Revenge just got picked up there? Why do daytime or primetime soaps do so much better internationally than they do in the U.S.?

JOSH: Yes, the English do love the soaps.  Look at the success of Downton Abbey!  Our show Revenge has similar undercurrents with lots of secrets and stuff going on.  With England being my hometown, if you will, I hope it does well there.  But revenge is a global theme I think everyone can relate to.  I think everyone can relate to a story of going after something they want, or hurting someone, or wanting someone to be hurt and not having the balls to do it.  That is why I think this show is a hit!

Nick, what do you think about the phenomenal success of the show?

NICK: Oh my goodness.  My answer used to be, “I don’t know.  We just lucked out.”  But then I saw episode 15 with an audience on the big screen and watching the fan reaction and feeling their energy.  Having that reaction as they were watching the episode was pretty awesome.  And you know what?  It is, at least in part to the show.  They do a great job.

Are you shocked each week by the scripts you get?  Perhaps, where you would go, “Oh my God … he is doing this?”

JOSH: Always, always!  Everyone in the cast of characters is. We look around and we laugh and we cry, and we pat each other on the back and we get angry.  The room during our read-through each week is fantastic!

Daniel is finally turning into quite the juicy role!

JOSH:  Yes, now it is!  Our creator, Mike Kelley is writing some great stuff for me.  Daniel, as of episode 16 is in jail, and there is some violence that is going to happen and some backstabbing that is going to happen, and more lies and secrets.  It’s drama … high, high drama!  It’s realistic without being unrealistic.  That is what I will say.

Nick, what is the best part about playing Jack Porter?

NICK:  I t is pretty different than anything else I have done.  Usually, I play the bad guy, which is weird; because I am the quiet, most insecure dude you will ever have the pleasure of meeting.

The both of you have a romantic interest in Emily VanCamp’s Emily Thorne on Revenge.  How is it working with her?

JOSH: She is fantastic and extremely talented.  I learn from her everyday.  She is a great actress and without her the show would be nothing!

Courtesy/ABC

NICK: She is one of the nicest people I have ever met.  There is a thing where she tears up instantly when you get her to laugh.  I love that about her.  Sometimes, even more than acting, I like having a captive audience and just horsing around and making my friends laugh.  So it’s always fun working with her and these people that I get along with so well. But just making Emily laugh is so satisfying when she has to wipe tears away!  It feels just so good. (Laughs)  I think you just get her smiling and she does it!

What can you preview that is ahead for good guy Jack?

NICK: Basically, Jack is going to start protecting his brother, Declan, and he is going in search of answers about Amanda.

Do you consider Revenge a soap?

JOSH: I think it’s a hybrid of one and soap-ish.  It’s not too much of a soap, but it is a soap without it being over-the-top.

An all-new episode of Revenge airs Wednesday, April 18th (10PMEST on ABC) called “Doubt”  Here is the lowdown: Daniel’s imprisonment sends Victoria to depths that no one thought possible, as the surprise return of a past love (James Purefoy as Dominik Wright) provides a destructive but welcome distraction from her family’s struggles. Meanwhile, Jack’s search for Amanda grows more desperate as he comes under suspicion for murder, on “Revenge.”

So who do you think Emily should end up with Jack or Daniel? Let us know!

will not watch this show until Erika Slezak is offered a contact. Zero interest in supporting ABC.

And if she is asked I hope she says no to abc/disney, but yes to another network ,I miss Erika Selzak.

Agreed ! It has been far too long since the wonderfully talented Erika Selzak has been seen.

Oh, I miss her so much. But honestly, I would rather remember her as she was than see her on something not worthy of her talent, class & personality. She is truly one of a kind & every single day when I look at my cast photo of OLTL it makes me so sad. I love every face in the photo & just this morning, laying in bed looking at it (it’s across from my bed) I was just thinking how rude, shortsighted, just plain stupid it was to throw all those lovely, talented, wonderful people out of a job, they just tore that show right out of our lives & I still get so angry, nearly one year to the day that we got the news.

I look at my cast photo every day too. I miss it terribly. GH is easing the pain a little, but it is just too upsetting that Blair isn’t staying on. I want Erika Slezak on something….preferable a non ABC cable show……or Dowton Abbey.

Very well said Gloria.I also get the feeling that something is missing at 2 oclock one life to live was there for 43 years and it was replaced by garbage.

There could be a lot worse than having these two guys after you….I just wish they would figure out they were gay and ditch Emily!

She should end up with jack duh!!!

I want Emily with Daniel!!!!!

lucky girl, i wish i had her problem!

Revenge is a horrid soap opera. Bad acting and it jumped the shark after Lydia survived falling onto a taxi cab. Stupid! To make matters worse it’s racist. All the rich Hamptonites are white while every maid of Victoria is Asian american. How racist! Asian americans are affluent and have a higher percentage of getting higher educational degrees than whites. Yet they have to be portrayed as the help for the white people. The only racial minority cast member is named Ashley Madekwe I think. She has to portray a glorified assistant to Victoria. The racism on Revenge and bad acting is why people are turned off by this soap opera.

Lisa Rinna Would Be Down to Reprise Her Role of Taylor McBride in ‘Melrose Place’ Reboot

When Lisa Rinna departed her popular role of Billie Reed on Days of our Lives back in 1995, her next major role would be a jump to primetime and the soapy Melrose Place.

In 1996, Lisa was introduced as new character Taylor McBride and stayed with the Fox young adult sudser for three seasons. Now in 2024, with the recent reveal that a Melrose Place revival is the works with Heather Locklear, Daphne Zuniga and Laura Leighton all on board to reprise their signature roles, would Rinna board the project should it come to fruition?

Speaking with PEOPLE, Rinna expressed, “Well, gosh, I’ve heard about it. I haven’t been approached or anything, but I would love to see what Taylor McBride is up to 25 years later. Wouldn’t that be something?”

Photo: FOX

OG Melrose Place fans know that in story, Taylor moved to the Melrose Place apartment building with her husband Kyle played by Rob Estes. However, Taylor had her eye on Dr. Peter Burns played by former GH star Jack Wagner (ex-Frisco). But, by the time she had moved to the apartment complex, Peter had married tough as nails ad executive, Amanda Woodward, played by Heather Locklear.

Recalling her time on Melrose Place, Rinna added that it, “was one of my greatest and most fun acting experiences, playing Taylor and working with Heather and the whole crew.”  Rinna also noted, “So if they need a Taylor McBride appearance, they know who to call. I’m around.”

The new Melrose Place is in development at CBS Studios. In the premise of the reboot, the Melrose Place residents reunite after the death of one of their friends, “but the pressure cooker of a reunion soon uncovers old traumas, rekindles old romances, reignites old resentments, and reveals new secrets… throwing our characters into chaotic drama that’s reminiscent of the past, but with a much more modern perspective.”

So, would you want to see Lisa Rinna reprise her Melrose Place role as Taylor McBride? Comment below.

Sean Kanan’s Stepdaughter, Juliet Vega, to Appear on The Bold and the Beautiful

Coming up on this Friday’s April 26th episode of The Bold and the Beautiful, Juliet Vega, the stepdaughter to Sean Kanan will make an appearance on the CBS daytime drama series in the role of Michele.

Keeping it “All in the Family”, the character is named after Juliet’s real-life mother, and Kanan’s wife, writer and producer, Michele Kanan.

Back in 2012, Sean married Michele Vega and thus began their blended family which included his daughter, Simone, and Michelle’s children, Peter, Gigi, and her twins, Annie and Juliet.

According to a B&B show spokesperson, Juliet’s B&B character is intentionally named Michele in honor of her mother and Sean’s wife.

While we don’t know how “Michele” shows up in story, it is the same episode that Clint Howard makes an appearance as well seemingly tied to the case of where in the world is Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown)?

Photo: CBS

We can’t imagine that Juliet wouldn’t get the opportunity to mix it up on-screen with her stepdad, Sean Kanan. Previously, the two acted together in Sean’s streaming series Studio City, where she played the role of Delilah and he played soap actor, Sam Stevens. In it, Delilah is the bio-daughter Sam never knew he had.

So, looking forward to seeing Juliet on B&B and how ‘Michele’ turns up in the story? Comment below.
