The Jake Silbermann Interview – As the World Turns
60
Thank you for the interview with Jake. He’s very kind towards fans of his character and the Nuke storyline. Wish him the best in all of his future opportunities.
Jake is always a great interview and a classy guy. I can’t wait to see where his career takes him. He and Van have bright futures.
And as for this – “I am saying, I think fans will be able to see what they are looking for in it” – in my heart Noah and Luke are together forever. Living loving and rewarding lives.
Oh and one thing Jake – I never found the Reid character more interesting than Noah – never ever.
I don’t think Reid is more interesting than Noah either. But as an actor, I can see why Jake would think that. Because Reid got all the snarky lines and he got to be a “bad boy”. And we all knew Jake wanted Noah to have a darker side. And nice guys on soap operas always finish last, and people think they’re so uninteresting. But I disagree with that statement as well. Noah is far more interesting with all his untapped potential and backstory the show never decided to explore. We knew how it went when he came out of… Read more »
Reid bores me .
Me too! Never got into him.
Oh, I just love Noah & Jake!!! They are both awesome and I always found Noah interesting to watch in any degree. To say that Reid is more interesting does not seem very valid given that we have seen the characters at very different points of their lives. We have seen Noah go through so much & to think that Reid was interesting because of the so-called transformation he’s gone through w/Luke over the past few months would be ridiculous to even try to compare. Noah will always be more interesting because we have seen the memories of his past… Read more »
Are you kidding?luke and noah became so boring!Luke and Reid were exciting to watch. The screen sizzled when they were on….they could show more love and caring for each other just by looking into each others eyes without uttering one word.I will always love Luke and Reid together…theirs was a grown up love and I think the writers left us in tears by their sad ending!!!!
Theres a reason they just looked into each others eyes, not utter a single word; everything they said sounded cold an insincere. There was more emotion, spoken and unspoken between Noah and Luke!
Michael, this is one of the best interviews, ever. It’s also sad, because this story on ATWT meant so much to all of us fans. We were very invested in it. Jake is so real and so meaningful in his remarks, that you just want to talk with him up close and personal. How he is so supportive of LGBT causes and the fact that he would play another gay role if it presented itself. It hurts me to know that we won’t see another story like this with such wonderful actors probably again. Too bad that the people from the… Read more »
Doe..that would be great if Jake could write what happens next and him and Van star in it! x
I would love to see what would happen to nUKE if the show did not cancel
Class act, Mr. Silbermann. You are totally, without a doubt, a class act. I’m going to be sad to see Noah- and by extension Luke, Reid, etc- go in September, but I can’t wait to see what you do next; I’ll definitely be watching!
I think I pressed send too fast.
Anyway, what a nice interview. It’s great to have heard from all three guys in the story and get their different viewpoints. Having met and interviewed Jake myself, I always found Jake to be a smart and intelligent guy. I wish him well in the future.
And hey, even Jake knows that Reid was more interesting than Noah. LOL!
Well I’m sure you feel quit vindicated Mr. Langford. You can run with that tag line now.
Personally, I think Jake was being SARCASTIC. Ha!
**Anna makes a whooshing sound and goes to wipe her forehead** Man, I’m relieved to know that you’ve “always found him to be a smart and intelligent guy”. I bet that was keeping Jake up at night wondering what a “puesdo-reporter” like you thought about him. At least Micheal strove to hide any bias or non-bias while conducting the interview. I thought it was good and he asked some obviously uncomfortable questions and both he and Jake handled it well. It’s good to know that there’s at least one “professional” reporter out there in the soap press that doesn’t want… Read more »
You don’t know class when your read it do you? Jake is Mr. Class, he would never admit that he knows his character was more interesting than Eric’s. That not the way you want to be remembered in print. But let’s face it Reid was as snarky talking bore. He was totally predictable and self-absorbed!
What can I say about Jake Silbermann? He is a class act and a true gem. Though Noah has always been a more reserved and quiet character, I have always found him compelling and worth rooting for. Though Luke may be louder and more impetuous, and Reid may be sarcastic and funny, it’s Noah by way of Jakes understated and nuanced performance that really connected to me on a more personal level. I will miss Luke and Noah terribly, but I am glad that I do have three years of a story to look back on, that has changed my… Read more »
Jake is an amazingly talented actor. It has been a pleasure watching him bring life to Noah over the past three years. I will never forget the impact his coming out storyline had on me and fans around the world. The fact that he puts so much thought into his answers and is able to empathize with his fans and genuinely care about them and how they feel is a real testament to the type of person he is, I will him all the best in his future endeavors.
Jake is such a class act. It’s that simple. And the way he cares about the fans, it’s more than I’ve seen from any other actor. What a truly, amazing, talented and an all around incredibly generous and beautiful man. I am very proud to be a fan of his. Thank you for this interview.
Jake is a class act. I always enjoy his interviews immensely because he totally gets his fanbase and wants us to be happy in the end. That speaks for how much he appreciates his fans and all the support he has received from us in the last three years.
Having met Jake myself, I can only say that he is one of the kindest, smartest and most talented guys out there. I cannot wait to see what the future holds for him. I for sure will follow him wherever his career will take him.
Great interview with Jake. Wonder if you are going to interview ESS again? Totally agree that Reid is a very interesting character.
Thank you Michael for the interview with Jake.
He has and always have MY HEART!
Thanks for the interview. I might not be a fan of Noah’s but I have mad respect for Jake. He did the best that he could with a character that was never fleshed out or integrated into the canvas. TPTB love to take credit for creating gay characters but they seem to forget that they stifled them and decided to focus on plot instead of character grown. While I’m a Lure fan I had hoped that Jake would get more time on the canvas fleshing out and demonstrating Noah’s growth until the end. I wish Jake all the very best… Read more »
Jake I love you with all my heart.
My adorable Noah.
Nuke Forever .
Luke has always been my favorite character and I often disliked Noah’s judgemental attitude towards him, but I wish jake a great career.
I agree.I too wish Jake the best but there’s no denying that they were children when he and luke were together.i don’t think anyone ever realized the chemistry and the love luke and reid would have. The writers really messed up the ending….so sad.Reid and Luke should have their happily ever after, and Noah could go to l.A. and make brilliant movies.
What an inciteful interview! It also helps bring some much needed closure on this show’s upcoming demise. As always Jake goes above and beyond the call of duty in describing spiritual connection with fans, views of his character, and even projecting Noah’s impact 5 years into the future! I have watched other ‘gay’ soaps filmed here and abroad and have never encountered the special on screen chemistry of Nuke. I wish there was a chat room or Nuke’s Anonymous so after the show folds, fans would have a place to go to affirm their love of these characters and their… Read more »
You should join Facebook…we have a great Nuke community on there.
Jake Silbermann is as beautiful of a person on the inside as he is the out. While he may have been shafted by the show at the end, I will never forget the significance his character’s addition brought to the show. It was his portrayal of a closeted gay teen that helped so many people in the same situation come to terms with themselves. He truly helped change and save lives. This is an amazing accomplishment as an actor and not one too many can claim. The best part about all of it is that he truly has no idea… Read more »
Even three years later, I SO agree with every single word you wrote about the character of Noah and the way Jake developed him with all these extreme limitations the head-writers and the producer imposed on him and the terrible disrespect they were showing during the last year – to Jake and his wonderful yearslong contribution and to hundreds of thousands of fans that were so in love with Luke AND Noah and had been supporting the show for years. During the last year, it was clearly the personal agenda of the new co-head writer that only wanted to pimp… Read more »
Love Noah. Noah was a much more interesting character, IMO. I’m sure we will see Jake move on to more bigger and better things in the future.
Thank you for this great interview with Jake. I appreciate his attitude towards the fans so much. Even though I am so incredibly frustrated with ATWT and their handling of Noah, and his relationship with Luke and other characters on the show, I will never regret watching to see Jake and Van play Noah and Luke. What they brought to me as a viewer is indescribable.
I wish Jake all the best in his future endeavors…I think he will see a great deal of success. I know I will watch him in anything he does.
I have been sitting here for a while now typing and erasing thoughts…I wanna just go on and on and on about how wonderful Jake and Noah are….which is so very true by the way…but then I get so frustrated with everything that has happened on the show the past 6, 7, or 8 months or whatever and I just wanna scream and bitch and throw a hissy fit…so yeah…I’m struggling here!!!!!!!!!! Ya know what…I think I’ll save the screaming and bitching and hissy fits for my friends…THEY FEEL MY PAIN…instead I’ll gush about Jake….YEAH….THAT’S IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😀 JAKE SILBERMANN YOU.ARE.GORGEOUS…YUP…YOU… Read more »
I think I’m done!!!!!!!!! LOL
Ooooooh look at that…I’ve got smiley faces on my post!!!!!!!!!! 😀
Stupid internet lost my comment! Let’s try this again. While I never have been and never will be a fan of Noah or Nuke, I think Jake seems to be professional and appreciative of his fans. I wish him good luck in the future. I agree with him that Reid is a more interesting character and many of us want to see Luke end up with him, even if that means we have to search desperately for a sliver of happiness in the ending. I’m happy that Jake recognizes this fanbase without taking it personally. Liking Eric, Reid and LuRe… Read more »
You too, don’t you realize Jake only said that because it’s the classy thing to do. Reid was self absored and predictable and that made him boring.
OMG! What a wonderful perspective on his years as Noah. I teared up – yes, I admit it. Why they never developed Noah on ATWT I can not understand. So much gold there. Anyway, please casting Gods, grant Jake’s wish to be on True Blood. I can just picture him with Sam or Jason.
Great interview. It shows why the 3 gay characters on the show were really interesting; just a pity ATWT didn’t do more for them before the end.
Thanks for the interview with Jake. He is one class act. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for him.
All I want to say that Jake is professional talented, and very intelligent guy. Just one thing
Noah is a character that didn’t talk so much, Noah talk more with his eyes, his face, his body, than the words, and Jake is capable to do this in a very incredible way
I love how Jake is so humble and classy towards his fans. I’ll never forget him as Noah and I can’t wait to see him in other roles .
Jake’s one of those actors who tries to show his best and real face through the character. I love the fact he wanted to spend more time with Eric and have more scenes together ( LOL he realised Reid has better views than noah and is less boring ). he’s such a caring man wheathe he’s a celebrity or not, he always tries his best to get online on facebook as much as he can and replies to fans ! He’s just so humble and always relaxed during his interviews ! nice one lloved it !!
Thank you for this interview. I was lucky enough to meet Jake in Paris in July and it was an honour. He is such a lovely guy and he lite up when talking about Stuffer. I can’t wait to see it. I know the ending is left to what we want it to be….sad really. I think the Nuke fans deserved more. x
Fabulous interview! Jake – you are simply the best! Your wonderful character of Noah and Van’s terrific character of Luke have assured that Luke and Noah will always be in my heart!
Nice Interview Mr.Fairman, I liked the way Jake cares about his fans! Curious about the Stuffer as well. I think every character has something to bring to the audience in its specific way. REid was lucky to be written just more conspicuously :))) LOL Anthony 🙂
Jake my dear ,you`re my favorite.
You are in our hearts.
Hope you much success in your life you deserve.
Noah will always my favorite character.
Nuke will always be the most loved couple of ATWT.
I love you Jake forever.
Thanks for the lovely interview of Jake. While I’ve lost faith with the character of Noah, I was deeply moved by his coming out story, and I always thought Jake portrayed him consistently and well. He always made him very human; as someone who saw things in black and white, but really tried hard to be fair and responsible. I enjoyed seeing Luke and Noah become grown men together, and the scenes lately where they have spoken like friends with a deep, rich history have really resonated. Thanks, Michael, for the interview, & thanks, Jake, for keeping it classy!
Thank you for the nice interview.
I love Nuke but I wanted to see Noah & Reid. Their battle or funny morments.
They would be much more interesting than Luke & Reid.
I’m not a fan of Jake’s acting: he unerplays a lot, does nothing exceptional with his lines. It makes noah very dull and I always found myself looking more at what happened in the background when he was on screen. I am a huger fan of Van Hansis’ acting! But jake is classy, except when he says that noah was always there to clean Luke’s mess: That’s not true. Noah was creating 99% of Luke’s problems, always rejecting and neglecting him for nothing and leaving Luke dealing with the problems that were creating within the couple. And Luke is more… Read more »
Jake, you are a class act all the way. You named everything that is wrong with the show without being snarky about it. Most of all, the shortened storylines. Honestly, so much angsty potential wasted. 😉 The show deserved to die, but I feel bad for the actors. At least you all had some time to get used to the idea. And for TPTB planting the notion that you were unavailable and that’s why Noah gets so little screen time in the end – we all knew that was a lie before you refuted it. But I’m so glad you… Read more »
Jake, thank you for your kindness to your fans. I will always love you.
Have a good time in Boston, and whenever you want to visit China, just leave a message and you’ll get a warm-welcome from your Chinese fans. (I’ll gethering all the Chinese-Nukies I swear lol )
What a nice interview. Thank you!!
Jake is a classy guy, but he was always more believable with the ladies on the show. LuRe is the love story of the century and fans are heartbroken over the planned killing of our beloved Dr. O….The internet is in a frenzy and the cbs website is burning up with disgruntled fans. The scene between Noah and Luke at Java back in June when they talked how their relationship was beautiful but over, felt right. Fans want to see Luke HAPPY and certainly believe, after all we have gone through watching Dr. O become a “real human” he DESERVES… Read more »
“Many Americans are extremely jealous that they could not be there, especially this final visit to France.”
Lol. They can see them whenever they want, I mean, there are many fan events in USA. What should think European fans? They’re fans also. Us American fans can be so immature…
love Noah, love Jake, and love Nuke!!! Cann’t wait to see his film
I’m a grown athletic guy who followed Noah’s coming out story. He personally helped me & I could see myself in him. I was hooked! I now even have a huge crush on JS. Will miss him already. Hope to support him in his upcoming film projects. Definitely would follow him to True Blood! He’s high class, ATWT couldn’t tap his hidden talent. Subtlty, mystery, masculine sexyness, he reinvented the “gay” cliche role. Refreshing!
I can’t believe it’s over Nuke was great and so was luRE but Nuke inspiered me more to accept myself for who I am and now I’m more comfortable with myself not having to hide from the truth but it’s really sad that this is over because i was hoping that this was going to go on a little more because I would have loved to see Luke and Noah (Van and Jake) in L.A that would have been really cool but they still have the show on youtube so I can still watch it when ever I want. I… Read more »
These terrible head writers that threw Nuke under the bus killed the show and drove so many fans away. Dr. Pri** was only pimped because he was obviously the new co-head writer’s best buddy. That whole story was so predictable with all those forced “funny” lines they laid into his mouth, while painting Noah as the annoying guy, totally distorting the devastating situation he was going through after losing sight. People who lose sight usually fall into a deep depression, some of them never return to “normal” and many of them try to commit suicide. It was totally perverse how… Read more »
After so many years, I still came back to read this interview. Jake and Noah were and still are very special to me. Jake did a wondeful job portraying a lovely confused gay man, and seeing his development during those years made me love him more and more with each episode. No other character has resonated with me in the way Noah did.
Jake, I love you and i will always continue supporting your career no matter what. Thank you for your hard work and passion. All the best to you.
