THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS: Dire Consequences & Decisions Leave Adam and Nick in No-Win Situations
In a riveting episode of The Young and the Restless, two major stories played out with dire consequences for those involved. On Friday’s Y&R, it was showdown time for Sharon (Sharon Case) and Nick (Joshua Morrow) vs. Cameron Kirsten (Linden Ashby). Could they save their kidnapped daughter from the clutches of the ex-convict, and delusional Cameron?
Meanwhile, Sally (Courtney Hope) has gone into medical distress and with Nick unreachable as he is trying to save the life of his daughter and Sharon, it leaves Adam (Mark Grossman) to make a heartbreaking decision. Elena (Brytni Sarpy) lets him know that he has to decide and fast or Sally, or the baby she is carrying, will die! If you haven’t seen today’s Y&R and want to watch the episode don’t read any further.
Under the tunnel and in the sewage system of Genoa City, Cameron is making a bomb, while he reveals a bound and gagged Faith (Reylynn Caster) to a fire hydrant. He fills Faith in on his feelings for her mom, and then goes on to say that Sharon is a bitch when all he’s done is love her for all of these years. Cameron continues saying that he made his way back to Sharon, only to have the love of his life lead him on, and dismiss him like a piece of garbage.

Nick and Sharon figure out where Cameron is, with the help of Chance (Conner Floyd). All of a sudden, Cameron is gone once Sharon shows up. It is then that Sharon comes upon her tied-up daughter and sets her free. Nick appears and Sharon hands Faith to him, only to have Cameron grab Sharon from behind with a knife to her throat. Nick fumes at Cameron to let Faith and Sharon go, but Cameron tells him, he has to choose which one to save … his daughter or Sharon? And… if he can’t choose they will both die, then he will kill them both.

Sharon is able to get to the knife strapped to her leg while Cameron is expounding his vitriol at Nick, and slices him in the arm, and then Chance arrives with a gun pointed at Kirsten. Not wanting to live in fear any longer, Sharon stabs Cameron in the heart as he falls to the ground. Problem is … Kirsten strapped a bomb around Faith’s waist and he landed very close to the detonator. Is Cameron still alive to blow up Faith? Stay tuned on Monday.

Back to the hospital room and an unconscious Sally, Adam tells Elena he doesn’t know how he can make this decision. He sits by Sally as Adam agonizes over this impossible decision, in tears, he tells Elena what decision he made, but we don’t see that on camera. Later, following surgery, Adam learns that Sally lost the baby. When Sally begins to come too, she asks Adam about the baby. Meanwhile, Adam is emotionally shook. How he is going to break the news to her? The episode featured excellent and raw performances from bothLinden Ashby and Mark Grossman.

So, what did you think about Sally losing the baby? Sharon stabbing Cameron? Let us know in the comments section below, but first check out the final moments of today’s Y&R, and the preview for Monday’s episode.
Great performance from Mark Grossman these days. The actor brings a lot to the soap. I now hope that Adam will find solace in another woman: Elena? Audrey? Sally has been abusing him for months.
I agree on all counts, David. I’d like to see Adam with Elena as well. I like Sally but it’s hard to see these two ever recovering from this tragedy. Adam will always harbor great guilt over Delia so it’s got to cut him to his core when Sally tells him next week that he’s the reason why her daughter is dead. Nick would have made the same decision Adam did.
Harry,
Nick almost had to make that decision in the sewer when that pig said, Sharon or Faith?
I agree with you Harry.
She shouldn’t blame Adam because the baby was to young to stave and Adam did the right thing and it wasn’t his fault it was all on nick because Sally was worried about nick so why Adam is going threw that’s wrong let nick take his blame
David,
No, sorry not Elena. I’d rather see him and Chelsea back together with their son.
Yes, she has…
As if the original Sharon/Cameron story wasn’t bad enough for daytime soaps, writers did a followup which was just as horrific.. Then if that wasn’t enough, Sally had to lose the baby. Both stories at the same time. If anything I think the writers and ptb should go into therapy. As a relatively new viewer to Y&R I’m going to find better things to do with my time. Y&R isn’t young and restless anymore, if it ever was.
Favorite Soap, have watched it from the beginning !
rose,
I know you won’t like or agree with my view, but this “dark” stuff is what’s kept Y&R the good show it is today. If you read way down below the credits it says NOT FOR WIMPS. Just trying to inject a little levity here. Seriously though, it can be on the dark side with sensitive issues and just not for everyone I guess. Maybe you can just watch the SLs that aren’t so bothersome.
Violet…Thanks for your reply. But it seems there are other commenters who also don’t like this type of storyline, or as one put it “drama.” Add on other stories with “drama” like Phyllissssssss forever, and other less so….Diane/Jack, Victoria/Nate, another sad baby story all bunched together, I will probably take the summer off. And GH and B&B aren’t much better right now for more boring plus baby reasons. I’m in the mood for more happy , romantic and adventure.
That’s why I’m enjoying Diane and Jack’s do over romance. Without Ashley/Trevor foolishness tossed in whenever the four are in the same room. I wish the writers would let Diane and Jack have a mature, evolved romance without the extra. Victor and Nickie are no longer cheating on each other and have evolved as a loving older couple. If Diane is written as trying to fool Jack, I will finally get over my afternoon habit since college in 1983 and start exercising earlier.
I think it’s terrible for Adam. Don’t think it should have been written this way.
Rhonda,
I think it’s terrible and heartbreaking for both men. Adam feels so guilty and sad for having to make his decision and Nick will be devastated because he’ll feel he failed and let Sally down by not being there. I feel so bad for them but maybe it will bring them together as nothing has
I agree give Adam a break he’s my most favorite character and nothing ever goes right for him
I believe Adam will be given a lady later on but his heart is too broken now and he truly loves Sally. I believe the writers are going to change up and concentrate on the brothers coming together to run something that will give Newmsn a fight. Pit Vicky and Nste in their place. But hey they will always being brothers. Have difficulties. I believe Sally will leave fir a while.
Y&R seems to be harkening to their earlier greater days. Yes, this was dark but it was also an intensely written, character driven storylines. I loved that Sharon took charge and it was she, not Nicholas, and not Chance, who rescued Faith and herself. Sharon was her own hero. Adam having to choose the life of Sally over the baby’s was emotionally gut wrenching. There are spoiler scenes of Nicholas embracing his little brother which is good to see.Converesely, I’m sure that viper, Vicky, will use Adam’s vulnerability to strike while the iron’s hot. Anyway, it was good to get a break from the endless Phyllis-pretending-to-be-dead storyline. Again, these stories were evocative of Y&R’s glory days. Now they need to bring back the classical Y&R musical score to underscore and punctuate the drama. I’m not sure why they ever got rid of it in the first place.
If that plays out (Victoria kicking Adam while he’s down), that might be the last straw for Victor and his deranged princess. He’s already suspicious of Nate and Audra’s whisperings. I REALLY want Miss Vicky (wasn’t that Tiny Tim’s wife’s name?) to be brought down a few pegs. I’m half-expecting Nate to bring sexual harassment charges against her.
Soaphound,
Or Elena could sue her for alienation of affections, used to work years ago.
I also think it’s time for Miss Vicky to be brought down a notch!
Hi Harry…But do we want this kind of “dark” in our soap stories…knives, scissors, fists, women and children being abducted, threatened and attacked? And even guns on GH…Ava carries one in her purse, Dex? I don’t care how good the acting is. How many times have commenters mentioned they started watching soaps with their mothers and/or grandmothers. Is this what you want them to be exposed to? The real world news every day is beyond bad enough. Can’t see Adam with anyone but Sally. Who I like. They will have a long way back from the loss of the baby and Adam’s choice. And Certainly not another viper, Audrey. :))
A soap opera is about love, family and drama. This last month has had all of that and I’m glad they went a little dark. Keeps it interesting. Like back when I was first watching with my grandma’s. They try to make it as close to real life as possible. So, yes, there’s weapons and abducted characters. I’ve loved my stories for 45 years. I’m not stopping anytime soon because of some drama.
Tina,
I’m with you, I’ve been watching for over 60 years, with my kids, grandkids and great-grandkids. They weren’t traumatized that I saw but I did send them out of the room a lot. One of the worst was a GL episode of Roger trying to rape Holly. My granddaughter spent just about all day in another room. You just did what you had to do, God forbid you should turn the darn TV off.
rose,
That woman is one world class bitch! Can’t see a man wanting her but for only one thing, she’s worse than Vicki.
Rose, you mention watching soaps with our grandmothers. I know it’s become a cliche but I actually watched AMC with my grandmother while my mother worked. This was in the 70s when Rey( Tad Martin’s father) raped Ruth Martin(Tad’s adopted mother). There was also Billy Clyde Tuggell, who was his battered wife’s pimp. Soaps, especially the ones written by Agnes Nixon, have a tradition of zeroing in on a character’s Shakespearean tragic flaw. The soap genre was really dark but we viewers have acclimated to the temperate climate that has taken over. Y&R had a story from the 80s in which Ashley had an abortion because the father, Victor, was going back to his wife Nikki. Victor was enraged when he found out and Ashley was so guilt ridden and grief stricken she ended up in a mental asylum. I don’t think that storyline would play out in these divisive times we live in. Y&R has become Y&R lite and the recent stories mentioned in the article above seem to be evocative of the stories of yesterday. It’s not often we get to see well written character driven storylines anymore so it was nice to see.
Harry…I guess I got into soap opera “lite” when I started watching. I didn’t have a family member who got me started. But I was in my freshman year at Ohio State U, caught mono the kissing disease, had a very strict doctor when they still made house calls who put me on bed rest for at least a month. There was nothing to do except watch tv and that’s when I became a fan of GH. I must have just missed Luke, who I’ve never been a fan of, raping Laura or I may have changed the channel. And had many more fun years with Felicia/Frisco, Lucy, Anna/Robert, Q shenanigans, out-of-studio locations, etc. Like I said, a bigger diet of fun, romance, mysteries, adventures, combined with not so nice behaviour are more my cup of tea. Not what ran on Y&R recently. Like I said, too much of this kind of mindless, vicious stuff on real news which I think you also follow. Anyway, thank you for your background info. Keep well.
Harry
About what you said about the music. I’m old enough to remember when they played organ music, especially the introduction to each show. I remember the first time I heard Lara’s Theme but my very favorite was the start of ATWT, can still hear it, the original one. They did a second version years later but not the same up and down your spine sensation. I know, I’m crazy!
I’m so pissed off at the writers of this show they killed off Sally’s baby.
Why did the kill her baby im not watching the show for a little while
I totally agree, I was so upset the baby didn’t make it.poor Adam…..
Cameron revenge story really moved quickly. I would have liked some suspense over another month or so. It was tough to really remember and to care. I never cared for this baby story, another baby of dubious parentage between brothers?, but it and revenge story were well acted.
I can thankfully say that I’ve never known this to happen to anyone in real life but with all the movies and TV, I’ve also never seen a husband, etc. tell the Drs. to save the child and let the mother die. When Sally recovers a little, she should be grateful for Adam’s choice and we know Nick or anyone else would do the same.
I didn’t hear Adam make The decIs ion. Elena told him if he could not then the doctors in the OR would. That’s what I thought happened
I was surprised that Sally’s situation was so dire. I thought she would just have a miscarriage. I felt that the story line could not ring true for her to have the baby. Yvonne
I knew that Sally would not have that baby because Sally was nearing the final trimester of her pregnancy and she was still holed up in that cramped hotel
Room. The fact that they couldn’t be bothered to build a home set with a nursery for Sally told me that the there would be no baby for Sally.
I’m heart broken that Sally lost the baby. I really wanted her and the baby to live. Saron stabbing Cameron I think I would have done the same to save myself but not to lose my daughter so I feel that was a decision that she had to think fast on. Hope faith will survive.
I wanted Sally to have the baby and Adam to get back together and get married! Nick will always put Sharon first! Do a story right for once!!
I’m broken Hearted that Sally lost the baby… but know Sharon did what she needed to do. Cameron was an animal who needs to die. He has no good in him.
I’m furious that Sally lost the baby! When is she going to get a break? I’m also very upset that you have broken up Summer and Kyle, and even more furious that you’re hinting about a relationship with Kyle and Audra. This would be the worst pairing ever.
I don’t want Sally to leave but I want her and Adam to get back together and have another baby together
I was thinking this is Adam dream ( not real) I so wanted Adam to have a baby girl name Hope. I agree Adam need I new boo. I can see him with gold digger Audrey and building a company together. Also helping his son out he needs his father.
Adam is dreaming I hope
I am glad Sharon stabbed Cameron. I never thought they where going to let Sally have a baby so know surprise.
I think Sharon and nick are guilty of over acting. However Adam and sally both were excellent. But it’s rarely that choice has to be made. They always try to save not. Plus her baby was so premature it would have had not much chance of to Servive.
Days Of Our Lives
DAYS OF OUR LIVES: Marlena Looks Back at 50 Years in Salem

The June 22 episode of Days of Our Lives reminded us all of why Deidre Hall is iconic in the role of Dr. Marlena Evans. Here we are 50 years later, and Marlena is still the heroine of the long-running soap opera, and Deidre remains one of the most most recognizable names in the history of soaps.
To pay tribute, and to look back at the life and times of Marlena, the story starts with Marlena flipping through a photo album of her with John (the late Drake Hogestyn) over the years. As she misses him dearly, she gets a knock on the door and its none other than John’s son, Paul Narita (Christopher Sean).
With Andrew (Colton Little) in Salem working on a case, he sits down with Marlena, who says she can’t believe its been fifty years since she first arrived in Salem! Cue: Deidre’s first scenes on DAYS when she finds Mickey Horton (the late John Clarke) playing chess against himself inside the mental institution she worked.

THE FLASHBACKS OF MARLENA’S LIFE
From there, viewers definitely got the cliff notes version of the history of Marlena and entrenched within them, some of the biggest moments in Deidre’s enduring run.
Paul thinks he is looking at 70s, and early 80s Marlena while going through her scrapbook, but he is actually looking at her twin, Samantha (Andrea Hall). Cue: when Marlena confronted Samantha about impersonating her, and then later getting a call on her radio show from the Salem Strangler (Jack Coleman as Jake Kostichek) who killed Samantha thinking it was Marlena.
In the present, Belle (Martha Madison) has arrived at this time to meet up with Paul, unaware of this trip down memory lane. She wants to go over the findings in the chess board mystery Stefano willed to Marlena and John, in private with him, since Marlena previously said she wanted nothing to do with it.
Back to the history lesson, Marlena speaks highly of Don Craig and even though their marriage didn’t work out, she could find a path forward with the new love her life, Roman Brady. (Wayne Northrop however is never shown, possibly to keep the story focused on John as Roman for confusion sakes?)
Paul sees a photo of a young Carrie (Christie Clark) in the album and Marlena says she was such a godsend after losing her baby. In fact, Marlena says caring for Carrie prepared her for her having and raising her own twins, Eric and Sami. Cue: The twin visiting Marlena in the hospital.
JOHN AND MARLENA’S LOVE CONQUERED ALL
Then, in a way to get through and incorporate the wild storylines only Marlena could have been in, she tells Belle and Paul, she has been through so much in her life, how lucky she was to find John, and some of the most unbelievable experiences no one could imagine. Cue: Marlena possessed by the devil and levitating from the bed. Next, John confronting Marlena being the Salem Stalker, where she admits she killed Alice Horton, pretends she needs help, then pulls a gun on her beloved John!
The comment is made by Paul and Marlena, that she literally has been to hell and back and she could not have survived were it not for her beloved John. Cue the big emotional highpoint clips; The Pier Scene! Marlena steps out of the fog when John sees her from a distance. After believing she was dead for four years, here she was before him in one of the greatest reunions in a soap opera love story in history. What followed were other times of the life of times of Jarlena.

Courtesy/Peacock
MARLENA’S ‘GIFT’ FROM STEFANO HAS A NEW CLUE
When Marlena makes a brief exit to the other room, Belle fills in Paul on the chess set Stefano left her mother and the photo of the Lire. Paul said he will investigate. Marlena comes back into the room and overhears, and says to promise her if things get dangerous he will back off, she does not want anyone hurt by Stefano’s games.
As the episode comes to a conclusion, it’s just Belle and Marlena going through the photo album giggling about 70s hairstyles and all the memories. Belle speaks on the impact Marlena has had in everyone’s lives, and that she is both the heart of their family and the heart of Salem.
An end card comes up acknowledging Deidre Hall’s 50th anniversary as Marlena, and we fade to black.
So, what did you think of Marlena’s walk down memory lane? Were you happy to see the flashback clips utilized throughout? Were you touched by the scenes and the performance of Deidre Hall? Let us know what you thought of Deidre’s 50th anniversary episode via the comment section below.
General Hospital
GENERAL HOSPITAL: Sidwell Surfaces; A Twist in Britt’s Condition

On the Thursday, June 18 episode of General Hospital, Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) makes his shocking return right in Port Charles, after fleeing (thanks to Cassius) to supposedly parts unknown to escape capture for trying to kill Dr. Lucas Jones (Van Hansis).
How does he show up in town? First, Ezra (Daniel Cosgrove) gets a text from Jacinda (Paige Herschell) to meet in his hotel room. Ezra thinks the two are going to have a sexcapade so he puts champagne on ice for his favorite escort.
Suddenly, there is a knock at the door. Ezra’s excitement turns towards fear as instead of Jacinda, Sidwell is standing in front of him. Next, Sidwell blackmails Boyle telling him he has plenty of leverage he can use against him. Sidwell wants to use Ezra to help him takedown, Sonny (Maurice Benard), Lucas, Laura (Genie Francis) and Cullum.

ARE SIDWELL’S DAYS NUMBERED?
Meanwhile, Sonny confides in his brother, Ric (Rick Hearst). He says he knows who killed Marco an he is going to use that intel to lure Sidwell out of hiding. Sonny also shares he is going to kill Sidwell, and handle this by himself. He gave the PCPD a chance, but they failed to nab Sidwell for good and lock him up.
Sonny also has been tracking the whereabouts of Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) and Rocco (Finn Carr) through Brick, and learned they took a flight to San Juan, Puerto Rico, and then boarded a fairy to take them somewhere off the island.

Courtesy/ABC
BRITT’S ‘SYMPTOMS’ RETURN
Turns out, Britt and Rocco are hiding out in the British Virgin Islands. Britt set up Rocco with a burner phone and a VPN on her tablet, that is not traceable. Rocco reads on the tablet about Lucas’ shooting. Britt starts to have the shakes and passes out. When she comes to, Britt won’t let Rocco call a doctor, but he uses his phone to step on the balcony and call Charlotte (Bluesy Burke) and ask for help. Charlotte looks shocked to hear from her brother as Danny (Asher Antonyzyn) looks on!

Courtesy/ABC
However, Joe (Jonathan Bennett) could be the one to put two and two together! While at General Hospital and after questioning Lucas about a syringe he found that was in someone’s possession. the toxicology report showed traces of saline solution, not actual medication. He asks Dr. Jones, why someone would inject themselves with saline? Lucas responds saline is harmless and would have no effect on someone.
So, does this mean that this entire time, Britt has been led to believe that the medication she was taking to treat her Huntington’s disease was placebo? Has Britt been lied to into believing she is dying? Is something else wrong with her instead?
Share your thoughts and theories via the comment section below, and if you are ready for Sidwell to finally get his comeuppance from Sonny! But first, watch the scenes where Sidwell comes out of hiding and blackmails Ezra Boyle.
General Hospital
GENERAL HOSPITAL: Dante and ‘Nathan’ Have It Out, Valentin and Carly Share Passionate Moments Which May Be Their Last
On the June 16 episode of General Hospital, the PCPD under acting police commissioner Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) is in a bit of mess and does not go unnoticed by ADA Turner (Nazneen Contractor).
First, there is the whole Chase (Josh Swickard) defending Willow Cain (Katelyn MacMullen) over Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot), who he arrested for allegedly tossing Willow in the waters next to the Quartermaine boathouse. Turner has had it with Chase’s good guy act and how he tampered with evidence in her case against Willow for shooting Drew.
Later, Dante and Justine question “Nathan” (Ryan Paevey) about Sidwell’s escape while in his custody. Turner is not buying his cover story that he was ambushed by Sidwell and his men. Once “Nathan” left the interrogation room, Turner went in on Dante about having “Nathan” on the force after seven years away, and Chase she views as a “dirty cop.”
However, Dante defends both of his officers, but Justine warned that “Nathan” and Chase’s behavior would reflect poorly on Dante as commissioner and she should really think about that. Later, Dante has a terse confrontation with “Nathan” on how he botched a prison transport and that he better watch his back as Justine is one step away from turning this over to Internal Affairs.
COP MADNESS
Next, “Nathan” apologizes for the way he handled the situation with Rocco and says he feels badly. But then in the twist, Dante said that he was grateful that “Nathan” had been there for his son in his time of need (referencing after Rocco shot Cullum and covered it up).
Then, there’s the newest police officer in the precinct, Joe Fitzpatrick (Jonathan Bennett). He may actually be on to “Nathan’s” double life when he questions him about a syringe found in Britt’s room at Bobbie’s. “Nathan” made up a story to counter Joe’s, that he was not aware that his sister was taking anything for her Huntington’s disease diagnosis. Joe called the forensic department lab wanting to know what drug was exactly in the syringe.

BEFORE YOU GO
At Carly’s (Laura Wright), Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) tells her that he must travel to Geneva to speak to the head of the WSB, named Z. Valentin feels it’s the only way to save Josslyn if he informs Z about Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) being a double agent. Valentin shares with Carly that he has to stop Cullum from bringing his dangerous cold fusion device online. Carly is beside herself. She doesn’t want Valentin to sacrifice himself by turning himself into the organization who has made him a fugitive in the first place. Valentin stands firm that he must meet Z in person.
Knowing that revealing himself to the WSB meant he was likely going back to prison, Valentin asked Carly if she’d get in touch with his daughter, Charlotte so he could say good-bye to her. Next, Carly and Valentin make their way to the bedroom to make love, which may be for the very last time, if Valentin is caught and put back in Steinmauer Maximum Security Prison.

Courtesy/ABC
CAUGHT BY CULLUM
At the same time while at Wydemere, Cullum is talking with one of his WSB operatives. Now, he is pondering if Valentin and Sidwell were working together all along. Next, Cullum entertains the idea of involving the FBI to locate Britt and Rocco. He says he plans to kill them both once he knows of their whereabouts. Cullum sees the only other threat to the completion of the cold fusion project to be Anna Devane.
Cullum wants to track the location of the unidentified person who called the private clinic in France trying to get in touch with Anna, while pretending to be Kevin Collins. When the agent came back with a report, he says it emanated from a cell tower near Shoreline Road. It’s in the that moment that a light bulb goes on for Cullum! Valentin is in Port Charles and hiding at Carly’s!
So, what do you think of the PCPD cops, Chase, Joe and “Nathan?” Who should Dante fire? Do you think Valentin will go the run?Are you digging Carly and Valentin’s relationship and want it to continue, especially with Finola Hughes on her way back as Anna next month on-screen? Weigh-in via the comment section, and in case you missed it, you can check out our latest interview with Dominic Zamprogna below from his appearance on the Michael Fairman Channel, where he talks the PCPD cops, Rocco on the run, and more.
