Courtesy/Harper Collins

This Tuesday, July 31st, The Young and the Restless Jeanne Cooper (Katherine Chancellor) will be taping a video interview with Michael Fairman at 3 PM EST/12: 00PMPST to chat about her new book, Not Young. Still Restless, which will be released that day nationwide!  While On-Air On-Soaps has plenty to talk about with Jeanne,  this is also an opportunity for you to ask Jeanne your own questions about her life, career, her new book, and of course, Y&R and Katherine Chancellor!

Here is what is going to go down:  Michael will be asking the top selected questions during the interview taping, and we will mention your name and city and state during our chat.  Later in the day, you can come back to On-Air On-Soaps and look for the video interview post and see if your question were picked and what Jeanne had to say in answering it!

There are several ways to submit your questions:  1) You can submit them in the comment field below, with just your first name and city and state and the question.   2) You can go to the Michael Fairman On-Air On-Soaps Facebook page, “Like” it, if you have not done so already,  and leave a question there for Jeanne, or  3) You can send them to our email address at info@michaelfairmansoaps.com.  Remember, we need your first name and city and state,  and make your questions a “goodie” so it gets picked!

Deadline to submit questions is Monday night July 30th 11PMPST!    We look forward to hearing from you and sharing our video interview with Jeanne with you on Tuesday!

Dame jeanne Cooper what moisterizing cream do you use to stay so beautiful.

Which actor or actress was the most disrespectful person ever to work with? john from brooklyn new york

I have several. Hopefully, at least one of them will merit being asked:

1. As a long-time viewer, I was really surprised with the storyline revealing that Kay and Jill were related. The subsequent scenes where the two worked to establish a mother/daughter relationship seemed inane to me given their bitter history. Even though the writers have “undone” their biological connection, the characters do not seem to have recovered. Jill and Kay were always at their best when they were scheming against each another, a situation that logically grew from their early years on the show. The interaction between the characters since the mother/daughter storyline is odd and the writers don’t seem to really know what to do with them. While I religiously followed this duo for decades, I have not understood the dynamics between Kay and Jill for the past few years.
A couple of years ago, I saw a group interview with several cast members, including you and Jess Walton. Walton remarked that she really liked the idea of the mother/daughter storyline when she learned about it. You indicated that you were not in favor of it.
Now that this plot has ended and the characters have evolved, I was wondering if your thoughts about this storyline have changed? What is your impression of the current relationship between Jill and Kay?

2. For the first two decades of the show, we always saw Kay Chancellor sitting at her home and dealing with the troubles in her life. We rarely saw a Chancellor Industries executive and months (in some cases, years) would pass before the company even remotely was involved in a storyline. It was pretty clear to me that Kay’s second husband, Phillip Chancellor, built the business and that Kay was the unstable socialite wife who never showed any serious interest in the company (other than as a source of income). In the past decade, we have suddenly seen Kay take an active role in running Chancellor Industries. She appears to be an astute, experienced businesswoman, making serious financial decisions about the company. This often has puzzled me. Where exactly did Kay get all of newly found business knowledge? The show has never addressed her sudden insight and interest into the workings of Chancellor Industries when Kay spent 20 years barely mentioning it. As far as I can tell, we didn’t even get a minor storyline where Victor coached Kay on how to be a CEO of a large operation. I’ve waited for several years for a plot where Chancellor Industries is on the verge of bankruptcy due to unwise decisions by the inexperienced Kay. I was wondering if Miss Cooper had any thoughts on this?

3. Who was your favorite romantic partner for Kay? Who was your least favorite romantic partner for her?

4. What was your favorite storyline from the show and why? What was your least favorite storyline and why?

I would like to know what Jeanne has to say about the recent ousting of Maria Bell, and what she thinks about the changing of the guard at Y&R behind the scenes.

Also, does she get a say in what Mrs. Chancellor wears, or is that what the costumers decide? She is always so perfectly put together!! 🙂

One more…. how much fun was it doing that cake fight with Jess Walton a few years ago? That was awesome television….. really all of the fights she’s been in with Jess are so memorable. Was it difficult doing all of that rolling around? 🙂

The reason you are losing your ratings it’s because young and restless is no good it’s everybody married to everybody and the stories are so stupid change and you will see people come back to see it please can’t stand the stories give us something good????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!

REPORT: Nicholas Chavez Not Returning to General Hospital

For those who were holding out hope that Daytime Emmy winner and fan favorite, Nicholas Chavez would be returning to General Hospital after filming his leading role in Ryan Murphy’s Monsters anthology, it looks like those hopes have been dashed.

According to a report from TV Line, although unconfirmed from General Hospital or a representative for Chavez, the actor will not reprise his role as Spencer Cassadine on the long-running ABC soap opera and continue the love story of Sprina opposite Tabyana Ali (Trina, GH).

Chavez was cast as Lyle Menendez over the the summer of 2023 for the second season of Murphy’s limited Monsters series on Netflix. In the upcoming season, the series will focus on the the case of Lyle and Erik Menendez, the two well-to-do Beverly Hills brothers accused of murdering their parents in 1989.

After word from Chavez casting was revealed, GH fans were concerned over the fate of the Sprina story, a spokesperson for GH shared,  “We support Nicholas’ endeavors and look forward to having him return to General Hospital once this project is wrapped.”

In story, the series “killed off” Spencer when he went overboard with Esme to the steely waters below after being injected with a drug, thanks to Esme and falling into the Seine River in France. However, his body was never recovered, and believed to have drowned or washed away. Thus, leaving an opening for Spencer to return in the form of Chavez or be recast down the line.

TV Line shared that ‘multiple sources’ are confirming that Chavez is not returning to the ABC soap opera, which is what many had suspected might be the case once he left for this major starring role in a Ryan Murphy project. Chavez has been relatively quiet on social media for months.

The Michael Fairman Channel spoke with Nicholas Chavez for a virtual interview when he first joined the show in 2021, and spoke to him right after when he won the Daytime Emmy in 2022 – you can see those below.

No word yet on when Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menéndez Story will debut on Netflix, but it is assumed later this year.

Currently, CBS Studios is developing a reboot starring Heather Locklear, Daphne Zuniga and Laura Leighton. But what is Dr. Peter Burns were to show up alive?

As those who saw the end of the original MP know, Peter and Amanda (Locklear) faked their deaths and then tied the knot with Peter on a beach, supposedly in a “happily ever after” scenario.

Speaking with PEOPLE, Wagner expressed, what we all know who watch the soaps, that no one is never, ever really gone for good. Jack expressed, “You never really die on a soap, right? How they unfold those two characters (Peter and Amanda), it’d be fantastic how they sort of tell that story.”

Wagner added, “That was a great finale to be included in, especially with Heather. If I’m asked to come back, I’d absolutely entertain that.”

The original Melrose Place aired for seven seasons from 1992 to 1999. The story featured the residents of an apartment complex, whose lives were intertwined. Eventually Wagner and Heather Locklear dated fro 2007-2011.

As previously reported, the new Melrose Place share that some of original neighbors and friends reunite after a death. The loglines add, “The pressure cooker of a reunion soon uncovers old traumas, rekindles old romances, reignites old resentments, and reveals new secrets… throwing our characters into chaotic drama that’s reminiscent of the past, but with a much more modern perspective.”

So, would you like to see Jack Wagner return as Dr. Peter Burns on Melrose Place, or Frisco Jones on GH, or both? Comment below.
