“Halloween is a special time around Port Charles! It is always filled with surprises, twists, tricks, and even treats! And this year is no different.  In honor of Halloween, we put together some of the funniest and scariest moments for you, the fans, to enjoy!  We hope you have a fun, and safe Halloween!”

That is what GH’s real life lovebirds and on-screen duo, Kristen Alderson (Kiki) and Chad Duell (Michael) say as the introduction to this video ditty produced by the folks at General Hospital to get you in the mood for fright night!

With clips edited to the tune, “We Hope You have a Haunted Halloween”, many of your favorite characters are seen in costume, whether it was from a past Halloween episode or story arc, or part of a story, as in the case of Obrecht (Kathleen Gati)  in the “Anna” (Finola Hughes) mask!

The 2014 Halloween in Port Charles is looking to be pretty scary too …. as many stories are heating up … and many crazies are on the loose!  How it all plays out remains to be seen, but for now watch the “Happy Halloween From General Hospital” video after the jump!  Then share what was your favorite clip from it below!

General Hospital has the most vivid sensational characters, of all the soaps!!
It is a spellbinding on the edge soap yet has fun humorous stuff injected in for balance!!
I know General Hospital will take it all the way for our Halloween good time!!

Can hardly wait for Roger Howarth/Franco’s Halloween wedding!!
It’s gonna rock!!!

(when the soaps are not taken overly serious as if they are real and personal, they can be fun, really fun!! …
Especially General Hospital, always a good time on the cliffs edge dangling suspense!! !!!

I completely agree! Will never understand the criticism that GH is not “realistic” enough. Hello? It’s a tv show! Not even “reality” shows are realistic. They are scripted. Pro wrestling – scripted. And, when have soaps ever been “realistic?” I guess those critics only want dour, depressing sagas where everyone is drinking, having affairs & popping prescription drugs to deal with it all. I’d MUCH rather watch GH’s twisted, black humor any day! When you have a mobster like Sonny who has ruled the town, it makes sense to do GET SHORTY eventually.

Much appreciate your comment, Kansas. Well said.

agree KansasGuest!

Lately, we are seeing the real Roger Howarth; playing Franco far more delicious than he has since GH changed his character over from Todd. Looking forward to his Halloween surprise for Carly who deserves everything that is coming to her!

Actually, ces…I’ve been saying this for a while not..but we’re seeing the reall “Todd.” His personality is really emerging very close to Todd’s and I’m thinking this is the way Ron gets away with keeping Roger in his beloved role while staying within the legal boundaries. Either way I agree. Roger is baaaaaaaack!

should read a while “now”…and real (not reall)

You’re right Rebecca. I saw “Todd” in those scenes with Heather on Friday, not Franco. GH knows that turning Roger into Franco was dumb but their hands were tied if they wanted to keep Roger on the show. It sucks, because Todd & Carly used to have chemistry and then poof, PP came in and they lost it along the way. I’m really hoping Franco & Nina hook up together after all this is said & done. Love the stuff Roger is doing now 😉
Super tired of Carly needing to protect Michael all the time — it’s like “Cut the apron strings already!”

su0000, I think something is going on with Franco off-screen. 1st I thought there were 2 of him (hear me out..lol), but now I wonder if he has a split personality..

Thursday when Franco & Michael were in the conferences room at GH his hair was combed down straight and dry (no product). He said he had an appointment & left. A bit later he shows up at Ferncliff to see mom. He had the same clothes on, added a jacket and some kind of hair oil. His hair was slicked back like John Travolta in Grease. Heather said “What did you do to your hair? I don’t like it” & he replied it was a new look. After he left there he went to Metro Court to see Carly. It’s still the same day, same clothes. He walks in with yet ANOTHER hairstyle. He had the same clothes on. but now his hair looks shorter, and it was dry, but shiny like it has product on it. The bangs looked different & it even looked like he had highlights.

So either GH has the worst editors ever (I forgot what the actual people who are in charge of the editing and continuity) or something else is going on with that greased back hair. Hmm??

hahhahahah…Franco!

Cant wait for ‘THE BRIDE OF FRANCOSTEIN’ episode…lol…this episode wouldve been a great time for Helene to pay a spooky visit to Jason in the hospital…Nina asking Silas to ‘Play Misty For Me'(with Donna Mills in that scene: she played in the movie with that title about a crazy woman-Jessica Walter- obsessed with Clint Eastwoods character and went all Ninalike crazy, though the much of the storyline is a different)…Faison suprising Liesal only its Victor in a mask…Lulu having a Rosemarys Baby nightmare as she is carrying Stravos’s child and all the Cassidines are there worhshiping the Devil(Stravos) as Lulu gives birth…Carlys Psycho encounter with Franco ‘Bates’ crazy mother Heather and the return of Patrick and Sabrina as a couple…now thats SCARY!…BOO!!…HAPPY HALLOOWEEN…lmao!!!

LAUGH OUT LOUD, jimh…enjoyed your read…one thing…All possible scenarios…only on GH.

As a tribute to the Godfather…i want Sonny to find a horse’s head in his bed…or Carlys…or Carly finds Sonnys in hers…works both ways for me…lol

To honor Michelles big performance: Attack Of The 50ft Nina on the Halloween episode! Nina is touched by an alien on a long dark deserted road…within days she grows into a giant and goes on a rampage searching for Silas and Sam who briefly reunited and are having drinks at Ryans Bar in New York…Nina pulls off the roof and a beam falls on Sam crushing her to death! Nina reaches down and picks up Silas and carries him off only both are electricuited to death when giant Nina attempts to cross electrical lines…of course its just a fantasy episode and part of a dream Silas is having…lol

I like the a Sonny’s head part, jimh…LOL

I remember “Play Misty for Me-” a great movie! It used to be shown on television a lot when I was younger! I am really enjoying Nina Clay. Love Nina’s interactions with her mother and Rosalie. She’s hurt, sensitive, and vulnerable mixed with crazy, deceitful, and diabolical. With all of the talk about how close she was to her father-I am wondering if she was abused by him-which caused her to go crazy. It sounds like Franco will be showing quite the video at his wedding to Carly-much like what happened on Days at Brady and Kristen’s wedding. I just hope that Michael gets a new couch! HA!

Did you have to remind me about the couch…lol…i bet if they took it out to burn it, the Sonny/Carly fumes would spread all over PC causing instant death to whom ever inhales it…lol…PMFM is one of my favorite thrillers of all time!!!

I know jimh-the couch-haha! Perhaps this storyline will make Michael a tad bit interesting. I have always been a fan of Sonny’s, but not lately-and Shawn as his “enforcer” is ridiculous. Waste of air-time-Shawn trying to pin Franco’s near-death on Maxie, etc.-when you know that was never going to happen. Sonny repeating the same lines about how Carly is making a mistake, how she doesn’t love Franco, how she belongs with Sonny, etc., etc.-just plain dumb and boring. I’ve lost count at how many women Sonny has said belonged with him. Anyhoo, I do like Franco-just not in this storyline. I enjoy his friendship with Nina and I think his scenes with Heather are funny. Roger Howarth is very talented and I think his talents could be put to better use-rather than rehashing the brain tumor “made him do it,” the video that “proved” that the brain tumor made him do it, etc. Anyhoo, I’m getting off track! Halloween should be fun in PC!

I agree with everything youve said about Sonny, Shawn, Franco, Nina, Heather, and Micheal…and i look forward to the Halloween episode…sounds like its going to be good!!!

The last scene with Franco and Heather is an absolutely lip-smacking, delicious and frightening satirical feast. I’m sure they both had a lot of fun C U T T I N G it !!!!

Franco with Heather or Franco with Nina…Franco works best with these two characters and vice versa…imo…GH still has some flaws but lately the cast seems somewhat better balanced in recent weeks and the storylines are improving lately that now if my overgrown toenails need a trim they’ll just have to wait for the weekend…lol

I agree; Franco’s best scenes and most enjoyable scenes are with his mother, Heather and his friend, Nina.

Holloween is going to be deviously WICKED on all fronts.
So many top notch performances, keep them coming!!

You know that was actually cute and enjoyable. To bad the actual show isn’t ! Go Heather Cut Sonny’s throat ,make carley watch and then! do her.

I JUST LOVED IT, CAN’T WAIT TO SEE IT ALL ON GH. I’LL COMMENT MORE AFTER I SEE IT, AND THAT I CAN KEEP MY EYES OPEN AND MY SCREAMS NOT SO LOUD. BE BACK THAN, AND MAY EVERYONE THAT IS A FAN OF THE BEST GH, A HAPPY HALLOWEEN.

Faison dressing up as Beetlejuice last year was the best. The great Anders Hove took the ball and ran with it. I always love seeing what costumes they come up with for the various characters. Looking forward to seeing what they have in store for us this year.

Dan, you just brought those images to life…still laughing…Faison as Beetlejuice was so a propos…so a la Faison…LOL.

That was very funny-when he opened the door and Lesley Webber fainted. I love Faison and Dr. O’s scenes together, too.

And “Dr. O.” trussed-up in that dirndl as a frisky fraulein really completed the picture!

I was glad to see Heather; I want Franco and Heather to confront Sonny and Shawn. I hope Franco becomes more combatant with Sonny. Just because he ‘s a mobster, the writers like to make other characters afraid of him. That’s how they wrote A. J.’s character.

Well, it’s quite obvious Franco’s from today’s episode. wedding gift to his bride will be a video of herself and a Sonny in bed…brought to us in technicolor …Boo, surprise, y’ll.

Sounds a little like Days when they did the Kristen/Eric video at Kristen and Bradys wedding…

You’re right…crossed my mind too. I think the preview ,today, tried to throw us off, though. Didn’t Franco say to Carly that he knew what was going on between her and Sonny? Of course, it’ll be something completely different from what we’re thinking.

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

Published

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).

Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.

Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON

Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”

Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).

Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.

“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?

During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.

Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.

You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.

Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16

Published

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.

Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.

As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY

Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.

Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.

Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.

WSB WAR SCARS

Then, in one of the best parts for longtime fans of the series, Elizabeth talks about her legendary grandparents, Audrey and Steve Hardy and she tells Tracy they would have wanted Sonny to have a seat on the board for all the good that he has done for the hospital. After Elizabeth states Sonny’s case, things took a turn and Tracy and Sonny wound up shaking hands as Sonny is board member #16.

In the how great was it to see Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) together scenes department, the pick-up of last Friday’s cliffhanger is played out as the two former lovers fill each other in on what has gone down in their lives in the last several months including Valentin admitting he had been living in Carly’s attic, and Anna realizing she was kidnapped by Cullum, Sidwell and Cassius Faison. During their conversation, Anna sees the hallucination of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) right while Valentin is standing there.

Courtesy/ABC

Later Anna was on her way to saying goodbye to Valentin, when the two share an emotional hug. After Valentin made his exit, Peter reappeared and warned Anna to not let Valentin distract her because she has important work to do. Anna answers, “I know.”

So, what did you think of General Hospital’s 16,000 episode? What do you think is wrong with Jason? What is the important “work” that Anna has to do? Were you glad to see Sonny get a seat on the hospital board, or not so much. Weigh-in via the comment section. But first, check out the scenes on Jason and Tristan’s long flight to Port Charles.
