You cannot do a celebration of The Young and the Restless, and not include the woman who plays the character that ignites the colorful canvas of Genoa City, and that would be none other than Daytime Emmy winner, Michelle Stafford who plays Phyllis.

In this CBS.com video retrospective segment that aired at the beginning of  a recent episode of The Young and the Restless, Stafford discusses that beginnings of  crazy bad girl Phyllis to the evolution of her becoming a leading lady on the show, plus that little jaunt a long the way when Michelle played psycho Sheila Carter!

During the retrospective, Michelle reveals what it has been like to play along side of her co-stars, pays a fitting tribute to legendary Y&R creator, Bill Bell, and talks about the loves of Phyllis’ life from Danny Romalotti (Michael Damian(, to Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow), to Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman).  In addition, Phyllis’ on-screen feud with the character of Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) is discussed.

From the retrospective clip package, to Michelle’s commentary, this makes this special feature one for the record books! Watch it after the jump, and let us know what has been your favorite Phyllis moment on Y&R, as we get ready to celebrate its 40 years on television next Tuesday March 26th!

Sharon is my favorite. I still am upset with Phyllis she busted up Nick and Sharon. But now I do love Adam and Sharon even better so oh well

Phyllis and Jack are great and can’t wait till they find out Summer is jacks not Nicks. Adam and Sharon my other favorite. Now we just need Dru and Neil

I didn’t like Phyllis at all until she was with Jack but then she broke up Schick that was horrific after Cassie died. But then now Phyllis is okay with jack. I never ever liked Phyllis with nick. I do now love Sharon with Adam so all is forgiven now lets find out who the real dad of summer is. Please let it be Jack

I think my favourite pairings for Phyllis have been with Jack and Ronan. She and Nick just never fit together, nor did Nick and Sharon. I miss the feisty Phyllis that we last saw when Maura West graced our screens for a much too short time as Diane Jenkins. I hope they bring some edge back to Phyllis, though. I need some good ass-kicking fun! And I hope she and Jack last for once.

I LOVE this so much; and I LOVE her! The Sheila storyline was amazing and I felt the work from Stafford/Davidson/LeBlanc was lighting in a bottle! I love it when Phyllis goes off the rails, but don’t like her paired with Jack, at all. I loved the chemistry with Ronan and feel that a younger, hotter guy is just what Phyllis needs!

Maurice Benard Confirms Steve Burton is Upcoming Guest on ‘State of Mind’

Over this past weekend, General Hospital’s Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos) revealed that he is finally going to have longtime co-star, Steve Burton (Jason Morgan) on his State of Mind You Tube series for a sit-down interview.

While speaking with Soap Opera Digest at Nancy Lee Grahn’s (Alexis, GH) ALS fundraiser, Maurice confirmed the taping is happening this week and should be posted in about three weeks time.

Benard shared, “I wanted Steve Burton and I’m shooting him Tuesday, my good friend, but he’s been through a lot and I’ve been asking for three years, but he’s finally going to do it.”

In addition, to the episode, it appears Maurice also confirmed he will be doing a You Tube live on Tuesday, May 7th as well at 3 pm PT possibly with Burton.

As GH viewers know, for year Jason was Sonny’s henchman, and his right hand. Now upon Jason’s return, the two are at complete odds, due in part to Sonny’s medication being completely manipulated by Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) and his growing paranoia.

As for what Burton will discuss, as Benard teased Steve has gone through a lot of personal ups and downs as well as professional, over the last three or more years, but has always landed on his feet. It will be interesting to hear this thoughts on those matters and how he soldiered through.

So, excited to see Maurice and Steve have a serious chat on State of Mind? Comment below.

Tom Selleck Continues to Think ‘CBS Will Come to Their Senses’ Following Cancellation of ‘Blue Bloods’

The Young and the Restless alum, Tom Selleck (ex-Jed Andrews), who has starred on CBS’ police procedural Blue Bloods for 14 seasons, is speaking out on the decision by the network to cancel the show.

During an interview with CBS Sunday Morning Selleck expressed his thoughts on if the show might get a last minute reprieve as Shemar Moore’s (ex-Malcolm, Y&R) S.W.A.T. has.

Tom shared,”I will continue to think that CBS will come to their senses. We’re the third-highest scripted show in all of broadcast. We’re winning the night. All the cast wants to come back. And I can tell you this: we aren’t sliding off down a cliff. We’re doing good shows, and still holding our place. So, I don’t know. You tell me!”

Selleck has been with Blue Bloods since its inception and its premiere in 2010, in the role of Commissioner Frank Reagan.

Aware that the cast has asked CBS to reconsider its position, CBS Entertainment President, Amy Reisenbach said, “We love this cast, we love their passion for the show. All shows have to come to an end. It’s important to us to refresh the schedule. We are going to end the show come December.”

Blue Blood also stars Donnie Wahlberg, Bridget Moynahan, Will Estes, and Len Cariou. Selleck is pictured above with former Y&R stars, Deidre Hall (now Marlena, Days of our Lives) and Jaime Lyn Bauer (ex-Lorie).
