Days of our Lives Blockbuster Flash-Forward Promo: Where Are Your Favorites One-Year Later?

Courtesy/NBC

Every year at the annual NBC Day of Days event at Universal City, California’s CityWalk, fans in attendance are treated to the premiere of the extended and exciting promo of what’s to come in story in the weeks ahead.

But this year, the promo was even more exciting because it revealed pieces and teases of what’s happened in Salem and to your favorite characters within the one-year time jump that began on last Friday’s episode when Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) woke up out of her coma and learned from Jack (Matt Ashford) that she had been asleep for a year! And … thus begins a daytime first for a drama series.

In the DAYS November sweeps promo, viewers see that Brady (Eric Martsolf) and Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) have their baby and so does apparently, Eric (Greg Vaughan) and Sarah (Linsey Godfrey).  Then. Jack says to Abigail (Kate Mansi) that she is her number one reporter, while Victor (John Aniston) tells Ciara (Victoria Konefal) she is the future of the family.  Elsewhere, it looks like Kate (Lauren Koslow) is waiting tables?

Meanwhile, Sonny (Freddie Smith) says “I miss him, I miss him a lot.” Who is he referring to? Clyde (James Read) is back and looks to be in an adjoining cell with his son, Ben Weston (Rob Scott Wilson)!  Also in prison are the ladies, Hattie Adams (Deidre Hall) and none other than Eve (Kassie DePaiva)

Then, Gabi (Camila Banus) and Eli (Lamon Archey) are making out and apparently things have heated up between them, once again, and Princess Gina (Kristian Alfonso) is still looming.  Will she come between John (Drake Hogestyn) and Marlena (Deidre Hall), and will Jennifer remember that Gina pushed her of the balcony a year ago?

Watch the promo for the time-jump below.  Then, let us know what story you are looking forward to most, and finding out how it plays out via the comment section below.

The promo—in comparison to the past few yeas—feels understated, and one note, and while I get that might be their intention, there is a lot missing for me from it. I’m excited, though, because out of the four daytime soaps, Days of Our Lives is doing something worth watching. I’m just hoping post-production values [finally] change!

Michael – do you know why Suzanne Rogers was not there? I was relieved to see her in the promo.

I don’t know if this means anything but in the 1980’s Suzanne was diagnosed with Myasthenia Gravis. It can affect her neck, eyes, mouth and voice. Perhaps, Suzanne is dealing with Myasthenia Gravis again.

Awesome promo, and I can’t wait to go on this ride with DAYS.

Now, cue the haters in 3.. 2..

Not hating the idea of DOOL suddenly fast forwarding a year as of yet. I want to see how it all starts to play out first.

They will not disappoint. One day in and they are complaining already.

Why are they messing up Sonny and Will. Will was just brought back from the dead they would have had their first anniversary and we miss their Valentine’s day 2020 why is the need to always mess with these two characters.
Can’t there be one stable true love on any soap.
These two actors said at day of days that they did not like the storyline themselves. So days if you’re smart leave them alone.

Who depicts nor pretense forward what will happen for isn’t that what this escape is all about eh?

ok…i will see…

I dont like the time jump. The story lines are stupid. I didnt like the time jump the last they did it. I tried of you breaking people up. John and marlena needs to be left alone. Sonny and will should be together. Brady and christine shouldnt be together. Glad to see that they some people are back on the show. I know,You need drama but we need to see that people stay. Together and work out problems. Doug and julie needs to be left alone. Gina part is stupid, they done that one before and people didnt like it. Things dont get better soon, i will be done with show. It is the only soap that i watch. We need better stories.

I totally agree! I watched the show today and thought it was stupid!! None of it made sense! This is the only soap I watch too and I’m not sure if I will continue!!

What in the world are you saying?

The time jump storylines just started. It began the last minute of FriDAYS episode. I liked toDAYS episode very much. It was filled with mystery, as if watched with fresh eyes. A perfect time for new viewers. And this is the first time DAYS did a time jump (flash forward). Excided to to see all the answers to all the questions involving the missed time. I love it!

For your information they never have done a time jump EVER. No soap has EVER done a time jump before only Days Of Our Lives. Be done watching who cares. Only true days of out lives fans don’t give up. Carry on.

Preach Pat. Loving DAYS.

Tired of all the haters about days. Threatening 2 stop watching. So stop, nobody cares. Just don’t ruin it 4 every1 else. Just leave it 4 the real fan lovers of days of our lives. But I’m sure they’ll be baackkk.⏳ child petty threats i swear there worse than 3rd graders in school.

I agree with Ruth, and I hate what they have done to JJ.

I’m not liking this

can your writers not come up with any other better story lines it seems that these our lives are the only show that people dying come back to life this does not happen in the real world yes maybe they come back as someone’s twin which is a little different than being dead and then all the sudden they’re live again get your act together writers are all stop watching the show also

What about trying to do a story about transgender people

They did that on B&B, it didn’t go over very well.

I’m loving the time jump! The twists in the stories are incredible! This is the most intriguingly addictive Days has been since Marlena put on the hockey mask! Perfect drama!

Cool something different for once. I’m not surprised anymore when a wedding is planned for months then something happens in the middle of the wedding to stop it. Or how many lives do these people really have. You can normally miss Several episodes of a show and it wouldn’t matter. The next episode you see their still talking about the same thing.ive been able to predict what’s gonna happen next for years.but never predicted a time jump into the future.

You have totally destroyed my favorite soap! As a matter of fact I quit watching General Hospital and One life to live when they had new writers who wrote the storyline as if they never saw or read about the characters. The new writers changed things up way too much. I feel like you really don’t care how invested us viewers are!!! I guess that will free up one hour every afternoon for me. I doubt that I am the only disappointed fan and I have watched DOOL from the first episode.

Very unhappy they let Judi Evans go. Still willing to give the time jump a chance otherwise.

I agree… I can’t believe they let her go when she was with the show for soooo long. I’m hoping they find a way to incorporate Judi… hope it’s not true that Adrienne died, I hope that just a rumor.

They let Judi Evans go or did she want to go? Judi was languishing on DOOL.

I think the time jump is FABULOUS! Keep the audience guessing and tuning in to find out what happens next – that is what a great soap opera is all about. Who wants all their favorite couples to live happily ever after? Sure, weddings are fun to watch, but happy couples = BORING in my opinion. If you don’t enjoy endless drama, dark secrets, illicit affairs and whodunnit murders, you’re no true fan of the soap opera genre.

Two thumbs up!

Yes to all that, deepdish73, but we’re also tuning in to see what happened, as well as what’s happening. I love my DAYS!

Do not like.

STUPID!!

Maybe I just FF too fast, but did they ever say what Sarah’s baby’s name is? So many possibilities, such as Erica, Victoria, Margaret, Rexanne, etc.

I loved Days at first, now I’m finished with it. Soaps aren’t as good as they once was. You can tell there time is up once this happens. So sad.

I don’t know about this time jump because I don’t like the Princess Gina role and Gabi and Eli getting back together also why is Ben blamed for his sister’s death and what’s Will doing in jail,Also Kate should not be waiting tables

It’s amazing how people complain so much, how days drag out their storylines. Well now people are complaining of The time jump. Personally I think it is awesome and mysterious. Now we don’t have months of why Lani didn’t marry, we all know why, or months of Abigail arriving in Salem, months of Jack at Jennifer bedside. We got exactly what it is like when someone wakes up from a coma, from their perspective. A lot can change in a year. You should always count your blessing for the moment have, you never know what your future will bring.
DAYS you can’t please everyone. It’s your story tell it how you want. You will read “ I will never watch this again” so not true, a true soap fan is addicted to characters and the show, and will continue watching regardless what you present to us. We may hate, love, complain, be angry, be happy….that is called feelings…..you give that to us. So people enjoy the changes, give it a chance! You just may love it. I know, I do!!!!
Thank you DAYS OF OUR LIVES. For not giving up, as so many other soap has in the past. You are amazing!

I agree with you 100%, Connie!

I just want to know how Adrian and Hayley died. What the hell guys!!!

i think it is brilliant everyone complains that the soaps are no longer creative wrong!!good for ron c this is fantastic edge of your seat go days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’m not liking this “time jump”at all. Way too bizarre in a strange way.

I’m thinking of “time jumping” my beloved Dool until the regular storylines come back.

‘Tis a bust for me. Can’t get into it…..dumb and dumber. And Hope—-please, you guys…..yes, you–the writers—-get rid of both Principessa Gina and Hope. Hope seems to have reached the end of the road. Therefore, Pricess Gina was resuscitated for the single purpose of making her relevant. Sacrebleu!!

I do not like the jump of 1 year

I would prefer the storyline we were watching in real time, I think this year ahead is more like watching someone having a dream.

I love the Days of Our Lives Year later in the lives lost, loves found, hatred of warriors and clowns., Hey back in the first days of Days was good old fashioned escape for house Mothers and Fathers. Time tells of baby switching, clone catching and the life in todays league of soap dollars. With this current 2019 writing in a jolly jump forward captured my fancy to just how my life would be. Makes someone think if life had that apparent leap for all of Us. Life is not sound of judgement calls, time erosion nor friends lost. Love finds a way. So for all of us with our opinions. Can we not just keep our own for once. Mine is I happen to love as always My Favorite daytime escape “Day’s of Our Lives” ,,,,,,,,,,So for old fashioned values, who’s baby is who’s life really never changes just death and taxed. No that is not right either. Faces and bodies change too eh!!! So onward and upward “DOOL” I would join the writers of Days anytime and place. Be in 1967 or 2019

“Daytime television invites viewers into the private lives of characters, often bringing important issues like cancer screenings into living rooms and around water coolers. Soaps debuted the first cancer storyline in 1962 – years before the topic was discussed in the mainstream, and it left an indelible impact: a whole generation of women who scheduled a potentially life-saving Pap smear for the first time,” said Daytime Stands Up host Alan Locher. “For so many viewers, this brought the issue front and center,” added co-host Michael Fairman. “Today, it’s become almost impossible to avoid; but there is hope with cancer research, thanks to organizations like Stand Up To Cancer.”

SU2C Co-Founder Sue Schwartz, SU2C President and CEO Julian Adams, Ph.D., and SU2C Health Equity Committee Member Elizabeth Jaffee, M.D., will also participate to speak to the importance of early detection, exciting scientific breakthroughs, and the ongoing work yet to be done to make screenings and treatment equitable for all.

“This year, an estimated 2 million people in the U.S. will be diagnosed with cancer, presenting an opportunity for the public to stand with us and rise to the occasion,” said Adams. “We’re thankful to Alan Locher, Michael Fairman and our friends from the daytime television community, who will raise critical funding to honor those we’ve lost – and to propel new scientific breakthroughs for current and future patients. Everyone has a story, and we’re grateful to all of you for sharing yours.”

For over 15 years, SU2C has leveraged its relationship with the entertainment community – which includes more than 1,100 celebrity ambassadors – to generate public donations, increase awareness and fund cutting-edge cancer research. SU2C research has contributed to the development of more than 10 scientific breakthroughs that have significantly impacted the field and provided new treatment options for breast, colorectal, lung, melanoma, pancreatic, pediatric and prostate cancers.
