Jensen Buchanan Makes Her Y&R Debut As Elise Moxley & Bombshell The Judge Had An Affair With Victor!

On Monday’s episode of The Young and the Restless, fans of Another World got a very special treat when Jensen Buchanan returned to the world of daytime drama in her new recurring role on the number one soap opera as Judge Elise Moxley,

Buchanan played twins Vicky and Marley Hudson on the now defunct NBC soap opera, plus Sarah Gordon on One Life to Live, and Melissa Bradford on General Hospital.  This is Jensen’s first soap role since 2002, and she is  already playing an integral part in a key plot!

Today, viewers learned that Victor (Eric Braeden) and Adam (Justin Hartley) conspired to keep the appeals Judge (Moxley) from throwing the book at Adam!  Victor was holding something over Elise’s head.  Turns out thanks to Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) outing her secret in Adam’s hospital room, it seems like Elise was having an extra-marital affair while married to her husband, Senator Moxley.

But Nikki is the one who next gets a bombshell from Elise!  Clearly not liking Nikki’s tone, Elise says the affair was with Victor!

Watchthe  scene from Jensen’s first episode of Y&R after the jump!  Then let us know; what you think of Jensen’s not-so-nice character?  And how do you think her relationships with Nikki, Adam, and Victor will play itself out? Is there an Elise and Nikki catfight in the works? Comment below!

Now, that was good stuff!!
I liked that..
Y&R has become very good since J&S were fired, I stay awake now, haven’t nodded out once since Pratt came on ..
Only one I need to FF to avoid using my barf bag is Devon..
He;s gotta go to Siberia.
I wish Jean and Shelly would have given Tucker the Billions, then we would have a great actor still with Y&R and giving Victor a run for his life, or money ..
((the billions was a total waste on Devon))

I’m waiting for the next disaster!!
Adam will be free; let the games begin !!

WOW – you are easily entertained – I bet plastic bags drifting in the wind gives you pause to watch….

This show has become one big pile of regurgitated compost!!

You can lay off the personal insults Bart. su0000 was just expressing an opinion same as you just did. I’ve been watching Y&R for almost 30 years and Chuck Pratt doesn’t hold a candle to the painful to watch Lynn Marie Latham years of Clear Springs, the reliquery, Nikki and Jack’s state Senate runs, and Brad’s out of nowhere past life. Now THAT was some bad Y&R. I’ve come to the realization that with Pratt at the helm, we’re never going to get back the Bill Bell storytelling and character depth we’re used to seeing but at least for me (except for the disaster stuff which I hated and is so not Y&R) a majority of his stories have at minimum been fun to watch and he did a bang up job with the Adam reveal and the fallout that followed. And that’s my opinion.

And I was expressing mine – and that’s MY opinion!!

I’ve seen you post your “opinion” on another Y&R soap site. It has turned into the nothing but whining about how bad you think the soap is now. Which is fine but no need to take it out on other commenters who have a different opinion.

Its HER opinion Bart! Just because you dont agree with her you dont have to attack her!

That’s right – my opinion and my right to express myself – deal with it, “Mr. X”.

Go to China if you want to censor Freedom of Thought or Expression on the internet.

I know su0000, I am happy with Pratt, cannot stand Devon and would have loved Tucker to head up the Chancelor household since Jill couldnt do it!

Does that mean Victor has another illegitimate child in Genoa City???

You can count on it!

Lovely as ever.

[Chloe Mitchell aka Katherine “Kate” Tina Valentine.] Magic was created when Riley, Olivia, and Isabelle Jones were cast to portray Cordelia “Delia” Katherine Valentine Abbott. Jeanne Cooper had many scenes with the actors who played Delia. Yet Delia was killed so that another child would be named Katherine. Based on screen time alone Delia (death, trial, and gala) is shown from Billy’s and Victoria’s perspective. To marginalize the mother, in the death of her child in favor of the father, is incomprehensible when Chloe was the better parent. In the aftermath of Delia’s death, Chloe deserves better representation. A Mitchell/Abbott daughter would have provided more drama in the constant Newman/Abbott conflict. With Johnny and the new Katherine, Miller spent a lot of time trying to recreate the Delia magic.

I recall a Restless Style office scene. Chloe hit Billy over the head with some kind of object and Billy reciprocated in another scene. Could this be the reason Chloe is treated like an “extra” in the death of her daughter? If Y&R places Delia’s death on Bingham, previous owner of a software company, I want expert witnesses on the stand: crime scene investigators, tire tracks expert(s), medical examiner (autopsy report, external, and internal injuries), car paint analysis, etc.

Where Chloe ended up after being placed in Paul’s custody no one knows. Her name did not surface as a possible suspect before Paul was informed that Ian started the fire. Did Chloe even know about the Halloween event that would honor her daughter? Did she surmise that Adam would be released from the hospital to rescue his family and be considered a hero?

Judges settle court matters with lawyers. An emergency hearing and/or conference call, preferably with medical testimony about Adam’s condition, might prevent a prison hospital transfer. An appeal is being heard within hours/days of the fire with Newman interference for the judge to rule in Adam’s favor. Where but Genoa City does a judge meet with a convicted criminal before hearing his appeal? Amazing! [There has been no mention of the estimated cost of the fire, possible rebuilding, and/or liability for any death.] Christine is hitting all the right notes as the prosecutor; but LB is being vilified by Adam’s and Chelsea’s fan base. A criminal trial is about justice for the victim. The memory of Cordelia “Delia” Katherine Valentine Abbott deserves better. Y&R made sure her photograph was not singed or destroyed by the fire.

No rich person is delusional enough to assume that a personal affair with a judge, back in the day or more recent, would equate freedom for Adam. An indiscretion from the bench is better blackmail material. A public outcry could force the judge to resign or be voted out of office at the next election. In bribing a judge, Newman loses personally and professionally with possible jail time. Too many “Dick Tracy’s’” are solving their own crimes.

OMG It’s a novel.

I completely agree with you about the character of Chloe and how Delia was only killed to further the Villy coupling. It was also done to sever the tie between Chloe and Billy b/c there was still a fanbase that wanted Chilly (Chloe & Billy) to get another shot.

I believed Chilly had great chemistry but I always saw the writing on the wall and just rooted for Chloe as a character to get her own s/l and love interest.

There is no indication that Adam was offered a plea deal before trial, for a lighter sentence, that was rejected outright. Adam, believing Delia’s death was an accident, threw himself on the mercy of the court with a jury trial and lost.

Very happy to see Jensen on Y&R. AW was my first story. But how ho hum is this! Victor has something on her? Victor has something on everyone. Nothing at all new here yet. My hope right now is that she and Nikki volley back in forth. And those scenes would be best played out with the two of them dressed to the nines and bumping into each other in front of the mirror in the powder room.

Love Jensen! Love the storyline! Love the reveal!
… but what happened to her face?!?

I havent seen the episode, just the picture on here, but whoa!!! I love Jensen, but her face is seriously distorted!! Her eyes are slanted so far upwards!! It pains me to say this, but she looks like a younger version of that “cat woman ” Jocelyn Wildenstein. She has not been.acting for 13 years!! Whatever would possess her to have THAT much work done?? She is a beautiful woman!!

When did Victor have the affair? Recently?

I wonder the same DAMN thing. When exactly was Victor carrying on with this woman?? We’ve had NO hint that he has been running around on Nikki.

I admire the creativity here but not the inconsistency. Victor has been MANY things over the years —- manipulative, domineering, controlling, etc. However, he has NEVER been a womanizer running around carrying on meaningless affairs with women.

I can only recall one instance where a happily married Victor cheated on Nikki — His affair with Ashley in the mid 80’s that resulted in a 15 year love triangle between Nikki/Victor/Ashley. In every other instance, he has only started a relationship with another woman when he has been separated or divorced from Nikki.

I don’t really believe that, after 35 years of a tough relationship with Nikki and her current battles with alcoholism and multiple schlorosis, Victor suddenly would carry on an illicit affair with another woman —- unless he was madly in love with her like he was with Ashley.

We’ll have to see how this plays out but, so far, I’m viewing this premise as WEAK!!!!

At the beginning he told Nikki they were not together. She was married to Jack Abbott at the time and he & Ashley were divorced.

I like this actress and hope she is put on contract. I dont remember her being on GH but I do remember her on OLTL. She could pass for Sharon’s older sister! Anyway, she is right smack in the dab of everything. They should make the Moxley’s a new power family. They need to recast her husband if they do it. He is a good actor but he doesnt hold up against Jack and Victor and he doesnt have that soapy, powerful look of a senator/rich guy. Sebastian Roché who plays Jerry Jax on and off on GH would be perfect! Him and Victor going toe to toe would be epic!

Timmm, Great insight, It would be SO nice for Sharon to FINALLY have some family of her own in her corner. Then The Newman’s wouldn’t be the only powerful game in town. The writer have water down The Abbotts SO much with adding Phyllis and Billy has been a snore. What about David Mason Daniels (he was on Capital) he would be about the right age? I love Roche but since he has the accent I am not sure he could pull it off.

Thats the nail on the head Vicki, the Abbotts have been watered down!

I love the way Y & R is going lately. I think the only story I pass on or mute is the baby stuff. It is boring . I’m happy to see J. Buchanan back. She was always such a great actress.

oh my god…i can’t believe it’s jensen! i am so happy she’s back on daytime! as i was watching yesterday, i knew she looked & sounded familiar, but i couldn’t place the face and voice … she looks amazing…and knocked it out of the park. i hope to see a lot more of her on y&r… fantastic daytime talent. #AWfanforever

Tedious, plot-driven drek – This show just keeps getting more and more ludicrous and difficult to watch for this 30+ year viewer.

What’s up with her senator husband being in WI? Shouldn’t he be in D.C.?

I don’t watch Y&R anymore but it’s cool seeing Jensen on a soap again. I liked her on AW.

I think having Jensen on is fantastic. I only wish they would get rid of the dead wood characters so characters like this one that could be rounded and interesting and add to plots could be allowed to interact with the characters that fans love and want to watch. This show has TOO many characters that folks don’t want to see.

Long time viewer; have absolutely no insights into most of the information included in these comments. I watch, but had never taken it too seriously until, around February, when the roof fell in. Then, I felt angry with the writers.

A couple of the present storylines are somewhat interesting, however, the Neil thing, the Music Box thing, the Sharon baby thing, the Jack/Kelly thing, the Noah/Lucas thing, and the fact that Adam’s car accident is still being staged as a hit and run without any proper vetting of the incident itself leaves me cold. I fast forward a great deal of the program.

Guess I still watch, but not very much. I find the comments here more interesting and fun than the program.

(INTERVIEW) B&B’s Annika Noelle Reveals Her Lead Actress Emmy-Nominated Scenes, and the Ups and Downs of a Tough Year

When the nominees were announced last week for the 51st annual Daytime Emmy Awards, six women wound up in the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series category and that included The Bold and the Beautiful’s Annika Noelle (Hope Logan) who had quite the heavy on-screen story.

For months, Hope initially tried to hold her marriage to Liam (Scott Clifton) together, gave into her passion for Thomas (Matthew Atkinson), and became a stronger more independent woman in the process. Noelle was previously nominated in 2020 in the Outstanding Supporting Actress category, but this marks her first-time presence in the highly-coveted Lead Actress race.

On Friday, April 26th, The Bold and the Beautiful celebrated their leading 12 nominations, as well as being the show with the most acting nominations going into the 51st annual Daytime Emmy Awards set to air live on Friday, June 7 at 8 p.m. ET on CBS and streaming on Paramount+.

Photo: JPI

During the on set celebration, when B&B’s Emmy-nominated executive producer and head writer, Brad Bell, introduced each of the acting nominees, they took a moment to address their colleagues, and for Annika, her speech was touching and emotional. She expressed, “I’m so grateful to Brad Bell for believing in this dark brunette, and allowing me to be a part of this family. And when we say that we’re a family, it’s not just because we get along. It is really because we are here for the majority of the year with each other. I know for a lot of people, 2023, was a difficult year.  The thing about this beautiful show is that it was my constant, and it’s what I could depend on during a tough year. And there are beautiful days like this when you come in and everything in your life is going amazingly. And then, there are days where your world is falling apart. And the crew, honestly, you guys kept me afloat this year and that’s why this is so meaningful to me.”

Photo: MFTV Inc

Annika added, “I don’t think I could have gotten through this year without the love and support from this family. So, thank you for being there for me on days that I needed the strength and you gave that to me. I’m so grateful to my co-stars and who I get to share these beautiful scenes with. I just wanted to say, I appreciate all of you and thank you so much. You all mean more to me than you will ever know.”

Michael Fairman TV caught up with Annika immediately following the Emmy nominee celebration, to her thoughts on this momentous occasion in her professional life and what it means to her personally, plus what did she choose for her scenes when Hope had such, shall we say, a torrid year of story to choose from. Here’s what she shared below.

Photo: JPI

Dare I say, I called this nomination for you? Back on New Year’s Eve, I revealed My “Best Of” Picks for 2023 and I had you as the Best Overall Performance by an Actress for the year, and alongside your fellow nominee, Cynthia Watros (Nina, GH), to boot!

ANNIKA: Thank you for believing in me that I could do it.

How did you to tackle your Emmy-nominated reel and what you were hoping to showcase?

ANNIKA: I was just so grateful to have the story to be able to pick from, and to really try to show the character growth and the arc of everything that happened to Hope Logan in the past year. For me, I really wanted to take the voters on a journey from her really being heavily influence by everyone’s opinions and everyone else’s voices, to her really coming into her own and going, “I don’t care if it’s the right or wrong choice, it’s my choice.”

Photo: JPI

What scenes did you end up submitting the landed you this Lead Actress Emmy nomination?

ANNIKA: I started with this great scene that our producers, Casey Kaspryzk and Rachel Herman actually remembered, where Hope walks in on her mother in her lingerie flirting with Ridge. And they remembered that scene. So, that really launched us off to Hope being kind of in this deep denial of, “I’m nothing like you. I’m not going to follow in your footsteps. I don’t have feelings for Thomas.” Cut to Liam confronting her about watching her give into her desires in Rome. And him saying, “Where were you Hope? At the Colosseum?” and then kind of in a roundabout full circle way, Brooke finding Thomas and Hope in bed together and then Hope really kind of going toe to toe with her mother. Then, ending with her kind of fully coming into her own as a woman and saying, “You wanted a divorce, Liam, here’s your divorce.” I really wanted to show the journey of her finding her own voice and advocating for her own choices and finding that inner strength, basically.

Photo: JPI

Was choosing the reel difficult given you had so much material within the 2023 calendar year of eligibility to consider?

ANNIKA: It was hard to pick and choose. There were a few I ended up leaving out. There was a really beautiful scene with Thomas where she realizes he overheard her kind of talking ill of him. That one was really hard to let go of.  I was also considering another scene with Liam where they actually signed the divorce papers. I’m just so grateful to even be able to have the material to choose from.

Photo: JPI

How did you find out you were nominated?

ANNIKA: Eva Basler, our VP of Communications & Talent Relations, called me and it meant so much to me to get that call from her. I tend to get nervous and have anxiety, so that day I just had to not think about it. So, I was out on a walk with my love, and my dog. We’re just in the middle of a cul-de-sac and my phone starts ringing. And it was the best surprise ever! Then, when I found out that Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke, B&B) got nominated alongside me, I immediately FaceTimed her. It was the funniest thing because she literally picks up and she is wearing a sun visor and sunglasses wrapped up on top of a horse as she’s in the middle of a mountain and in a valley on this beautiful white horse. It was the most picturesque thing.

Photos: ABC, JPI, NBC

I believe you know some of the women you are nominated with, obviously Katherine, but also Tamara Braun (Ava, Days), Finola Hughes, (Anna, GH), Cynthia Watros (Nina, GH) and Michelle Stafford (Phyllis, Y&R). What are your thoughts on these nominees?

ANNIKA: Well first, I’m just so excited to be in this category with the other women. Tamara Braun, who I was nominated with previously in the Supporting Actress category I’m excited that she’s in this category with me. Michelle Stafford, who I see in the hallway all the time, is great, and Finola Hughes, I’m just like obsessed with from afar. I even watched her on Watch What Happens Live!  Cynthia, I hear her work is tremendous, and with Katherine, I’m just really grateful to get to share this with her. To be honored amongst these legends of daytime is amazing. Just to be seen in that way, that means more to me than anything.

Photo: JPI

You mentioned during B&B’s on-set Emmy celebration that this past year was a difficult one for you, and that everyone at the show really helped you through it. What meaning would winning the Emmy hold for you?

ANNIKA: That would be overwhelming. I wouldn’t even know how to describe it – an honor, a privilege, a blessing? It would mean the world to me, especially after this past year. That’s why it’s so significant, because even on the darkest says, the storms passes. You just have to hold on for that brighter day.

So, what did you think about the scenes Annika submitted for Lead Actress? Were they some of your favorite moments from the Emmy season? Share your thoughts via the comment section below.

Marla Adams, The Young and the Restless’ Dina Mergeron, Dies at 85

Marla Adams, best known for portraying matriarch, Dina Abbott Mergeron on CBS’ The Young and the Restless for 37 years, died on April 25, 2024, in Los Angeles. The news came from Y&R’s Director of Media and Talent, Matt Kane.

Throughout her veteran soap opera career, Marla appeared had appeared on Secret Storm (in her other longest running soap role as Bell Clemens from 1988-1974), The Bold and the Beautiful (ex-Beth Logan), Days of our Lives (ex-Dr. Claire McIntyre), Generations (ex- Helen Mullin), General Hospital (ex-Mildred Deal) and Capitol (ex-Myrna Clegg).

However, it was her role as Y&R’s upper crust Dina, who abandoned her children and her marriage to John Abbott (the late Jerry Douglas) that was her most memorable role. Throughout the years, Dina would have several romantic reunions with John, but in 2017, the character returned to Genoa City to reunite with her estranged family. Dina was the on-screen mother to Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson), Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) and Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman).

Photo: JPI

As for Adams, she joined Y&R in 1982, but left the soap three years later her contract expired. She returned to Genoa City for stints in 1991, 1996 and 2008 before being asked by then Y&R head writer-producer Sally Sussman to return in 2017, which would begin the top-rated daytime drama telling the story of Alzheimer’s disease. Through Dina, the show shed light on a person going through the perils of the illness, and how the family copes and tries to come to terms with its fate.

In fact, Marla took home the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Daytime Drama Series in 2021 for her work in the storyline, She had previously been nominated in 2018.

Speaking with Michael Fairman TV, Marla shared on her final scenes on Y&R when Dina passed away and was reunited with John Abbott, “It was heart-wrenching for me.  In the story, Dina died when she went outside and to the front door of the Abbott home.  They did not tell me before-hand, and that’s why it was so wonderful.  I hope they came in for a closeup of that because I had no makeup on, it was beautiful, and then, Dina said, “Oh, John.”  I’ve done everything from movies, to daytime, to nighttime, to Broadway, but that was the iconic moment for me, to do this gig with wonderful, wonderful actors and friends, and to do this particular storyline.

Born in Ocean City, New Jersey, on August 28, 1938, Adams’ love for the stage was ignited after winning the Miss Ocean City and Miss Cape May pageants and finishing as a runner-up in the Miss New Jersey pageant. She also fondly remembered being the Miss Diamond Jubilee Queen during the 1954 celebration of the 75th anniversary of Ocean City’s founding.  A student at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, Adams appeared on Broadway in the 1958 production of The Visit at the Morosco Theatre with Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne and starred as June in the 1961 feature film, Splendor in the Grass

Over the span of her decades long career, Adams starred in more than 40 productions including television’s: The Golden Girls, Hart to Hart, The Love Boat, The New Dick Van Dyke ShowHarry OAdam-12Starsky and HutchMarcus Welby, M.D.Barnaby Jones, and the feature film, Beneath the Leaves.

In a statement, Y&R’s current head writer and executive producer, Josh Griffith expressed, “On behalf of the entire company of The Young and the Restless, we send our deepest sympathies to Marla’s family. We’re so grateful and in awe of Marla’s incredible performance as Dina Mergeron as both Marla and Dina made an unforgettable mark on Y&R.

Marla is survived by her daughter, Pam Oates, son, Gunnar Garat, grandchildren, Gefjon and Stone, and her great-grandson, Remi.
