On Wednesday, in heartbreaking news, 2011 Daytime Emmy Lifetime Achievement Award winner, Alex Trebek announced  he has been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.

The Jeopardy! host chose to go public with his diagnosis so he could accurately deliver his health situation to millions of viewers who have watched him host the game show for years.

“Now, just like 50,000 other people in the United States each year, this week I was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer,” Trebek said in his video message.

Alex remained optimistic in his battle ahead, even though most do not survive this disease, expressing: “And with the love and support of my family and friends, and with the help of your prayers also, I plan to beat the low survival rate statistics for this disease.”

Because Trebek has three more years on his contract with the game show through the 2021-22 season, he remarked how he has to live and beat cancer: “Truth told, I have to because under the terms of my contract, I have to host Jeopardy! for three more years! So help me!”

The renowned Jeopardy! host has appeared in over 7,000 episodes of the series, and won five Daytime Emmys as Outstanding Game Show Host along the way.  In its 35th season, Jeopardy remains one of the most popular shows in syndication, averaging  more than 10 million daily viewers.

Very shocking news. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Stay strong, Alex!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You will beat this.

What a shame. Alex, such a wonderful, kind man! Unlike the scum that preys on children like R. Kelly and the “King of Puke!” Prayers Mr. Trebek!

The sad thing is most of the time they have no symptoms until it is to late! A complete body scan every year would have caught it we have them . Timm i think i know who you are talking about on the king yes i think it happened but shame on the parents they sold their soul . When are they held accoutable also???

I agree Kay. You see this a lot with theses dance shows and these beauty pageants, usually mothers, live through their young daughters to get what they wanted and never had or had and want to relive!

Absolutely,Timmm….Mr. Trebek is a true gentleman, consummate professional and last, but not least, a great American…even though he was actually born in Canada! Best wishes to him during this difficult time.

Tears came to my eyes immediately when I heard this! I had just seen a biography of him & thought how young & healthy he looked. I am just sick about this. Pray, pray that he can overcome the odds & have at least a few more years. He is an American institution!

Blessings, Alex–breaks my heart! Hang in there. The Lord does work in mysterious ways…..Prayers–……In excelsis Deo❤️

REPORT: Nicholas Chavez Not Returning to General Hospital

For those who were holding out hope that Daytime Emmy winner and fan favorite, Nicholas Chavez would be returning to General Hospital after filming his leading role in Ryan Murphy’s Monsters anthology, it looks like those hopes have been dashed.

According to a report from TV Line, although unconfirmed from General Hospital or a representative for Chavez, the actor will not reprise his role as Spencer Cassadine on the long-running ABC soap opera and continue the love story of Sprina opposite Tabyana Ali (Trina, GH).

Chavez was cast as Lyle Menendez over the the summer of 2023 for the second season of Murphy’s limited Monsters series on Netflix. In the upcoming season, the series will focus on the the case of Lyle and Erik Menendez, the two well-to-do Beverly Hills brothers accused of murdering their parents in 1989.

After word from Chavez casting was revealed, GH fans were concerned over the fate of the Sprina story, a spokesperson for GH shared,  “We support Nicholas’ endeavors and look forward to having him return to General Hospital once this project is wrapped.”

In story, the series “killed off” Spencer when he went overboard with Esme to the steely waters below after being injected with a drug, thanks to Esme and falling into the Seine River in France. However, his body was never recovered, and believed to have drowned or washed away. Thus, leaving an opening for Spencer to return in the form of Chavez or be recast down the line.

TV Line shared that ‘multiple sources’ are confirming that Chavez is not returning to the ABC soap opera, which is what many had suspected might be the case once he left for this major starring role in a Ryan Murphy project. Chavez has been relatively quiet on social media for months.
