As fans know, this week the cast of All My Children and One Life to Live gathered for a fantastic, hot and sexy photo shoot! While many of the returning stars were so excited to reunite with members of the cast they had not seen in awhile,  the “newbies” got their first taste of being part of these iconic shows and the revitalization of a more contemporary version of the soaps in this stylish shoot!

Entertainment Tonight was on the spot offering the first sneak peek into the images, look and feel, and to talk with various members of the casts!

OLTL’s Kassie DePaiva (Blair Cramer) said to ET, of getting back together with her co-stars for the photo shoot.  “It’s an emotional day. The last time we got together for a press junket for One Life to Live we were saying goodbye to it. Today we’re celebrating a rebirth and it’s really amazing.”   Tuc Watkins (David Vickers) related, “We did a soap opera event a couple of months ago and someone said, ‘When’s ‘One Life to Live’ coming back, and I said, ‘Look: It’s never coming back!’  Bu here we are. We’re back together again and we get to move into the future together.”

AMC’s Jill Larson (Opal) went on to say, “I think that Prospect Park is very smart to do this because they understand that these are shows that already have a huge and passionately loyal audience. If anybody’s going to be able to build an audience in a new form, it will be these shows.”

Watch after the jump as Erika Slezak (Viki, OLTL), Rob Scott Wilson (Pete, AMC), and others weigh-in on the shoot, and the relaunch of the series.  Then let us know what you think of the  images from the photo shoot?

This is so cool. Cannot wait to see more of OLTL and to finally be able to watch my soap again. I haven’t watched a soap since OLTL went off the air, and I’ve missed it so much.

I missed it a lot too! I am so excited! HURRAY! We the soap fans WON & got our
favorite soaps back AMC& especially my # 1 favorite soap OLTL! YES!!!!!!!!!

Christina…you were the smart one. I was so desperate to see, them that it did not dawn on me that GH would want to keep them. I know I cn not be the only one.. The thing is I also watch GH. I stopped using channel 10 … not viewing the station unless it was GH. Now .. our top ppl have signed with GH. 🙁 I hate this but I still will be watching OLTL. I can not wait. After all when OLTL began it was wit Dorian , and Meredith coming into town. We have Vicki , too. We will be satisfied with this for now. I just hope the writing is really good. They need to make us want to give up on them(John,Starr) I don’t know if I can ever give Todd up. But I would love to haavae him vindicated of Victor’s death. Will PP be able to get TSJ back, just for this?

Wow really sexy – edgy! Can’t wait for this!

I just hope when they air that it all works out. I was so disappointed the 1st time they were canceled. I fear hearing that again. Hope they are around 4 many generations to come.

I cried while watching this. I’m so freaking excited.

Great making it mir real that it is back!

This looks so awesome! I can’t wait to see my friends, old & new! Woo Hoo!

Thank you for sharing this Mr. Fairman.

I’m thrilled that AMC & OLTL are back!! I hope that they aren’t just all glam, that they continue with real, deep and current story lines. I also hope they won’t be to much geared to teen, young adult viewers. I’m not looking for another Glee I’ve been praying for my shows to continue from where they were. I continue to wait to see and hope I get thrilled. Thanks Prospect Park.

I absolutely agree with you re. quality of content. Neither frivolous “bubble gum” nor simulated porn are needed to ensure loyalty amongst viewers. Compelling stories, impassioned acting, and imaginative plot twists will keep fans hooked forever!

CAN NOT WAIT!!

I wish them all the luck in the world.

I think the last comment said it all. She was talking about all the online media outlets (Hulu, Netflix, iTunes, etc.). THIS is the demographic they are going for.

Sadly the “old” fans who watched via their television sets and do not have internet access will miss out.

Then there are those like me who do not like to watch internet television (at least not Hulu as they do not have the offerings that I like). I prefer Netflix because it has a friendly interface that I can use via my husband’s XBOX (The Tivo interface is not that good). I absolutely HATE watching television on an LCD computer screen and I avoid it unless there was some police chase and my shows did not air, but I am happy for those who can watch it on their computers and their phones … if that is what they like.

If you really liked the program you would find away to watch, old fans included.

You missed my point entirely, Hilary.

Have you looked into the other ways to hook up your computer to your televison besides the Xbox Christine?

Thanks CTWildHeart. 🙂

We have Hulu through Xbox and Netflix. For some reason when Hulu is run on the Tivo (in the bedroom where I watch my soaps after my boys go to bed), it causes Tivo to reboot every time. This is a major annoyance.

For me it is about the comfort of watching. I am a busy stay-at-home mom of two and I enjoy watching my shows in my bedroom after the little ones have gone to sleep. I have very few hours to myself and right now that is reserved to watching Y&R, GH, and B&B unless my husband wants to watch something with me.

Yes, I could go to the living room and watch AMC and OLTL on the Xbox, and on the couch, but I do not want to. That is me, my choice. For the younger viewers and the diehards, they will do whatever they need to to see their shows. I have stated the reasons for my decision and also mentioned that there are many many fans (young and old) who do not have internet access and they should not be forced to get it either. They have most likely come to terms with the fact that their shows are gone. Then there are those who live in the boonies who, no matter what they do, cannot get fast enough streaming to enjoy these shows.

If I ever feel the need that I HAVE to watch these shows or if this is truly the wave of the future and ALL the remaining soaps will be on Hulu, then that is something I will have to decide then. But for now, I have enough on my plate and I am comfortable.

I mean what I said. I wish the shows well because this is groundbreaking and just might be the future home for ALL soaps.

You can get what is called an HDMI cable that connects your computer to your tv. If you have an older tv, I am not sure if this will work. Another tip is to try Amazon.com or Overstock.com because you can save a lot of money on the cable.

I do have Amazon Prime, but I did not hear that they would be offered there.

My husband has had his own computer business since 17 and you can be sure we have “what is called an HDMI cable.” Ha! Ha! I know you are helping, ghfan4evr, but if you saw the stuff my husband has in our house, you would laugh and probably be shaking your head at me. He is at the forefront of every new technology and contraption. But me, I am about comfort at the end of the day. IF my dear husband could get it so I could watch on the TV in the bedroom without going through Hulu or iTunes then I would watch when I had the time.

all i can say is that it looks like amc & oltl is going to be AWESOME!

Omg…I am so excited to see my shows again..I have watched both sine the early 70’s and was so sad when they took them off..And the whole online format is going to be awesome! Can’t wait!!!!

I would rather see the new characters move in gradually and finish off the conclusion of AMC where it ended. Going in 5 years a head makes me wonder if I will even watch the show.

please don’t watch then. The last thing the show needs are viewers determined to pick it apart before it even begins.

Not to mention that your wish is impossible to fulfill since many of the previous cast are not available or do not wish to continue.

Some people can always find something wrong.

Have to say, I agree with you Boes….I’m getting kinda tired of hearing complaints and excuses as to why to not watch. I was so upset when ABC cancelled my shows! And I never gave up hope that somehow they would return…..now that they have, I’m thrilled and can’t wait to watch. I understand that they will have to make some adjustments to make the show work. I mean come on, we’ve watched soaps for years, where a kid is born one year and within a few months he’s a teenager…LOL Timelines in the soap world have never added up correctly, so I can deal with this one. : )

Over the moon and back again!

I like the changes, I really am going to like this 🙂

(also, I have watched via the internet for years , no change for me)

Wow! The emotional chord is pulled…. a tidal wave of emoting… what’s going to happen?”

welling up with emotion and tears…. this is it!

I share your sentiment 100% Patrick! This is just so wonderful and exciting for all of us who love these shows!

Looks great!!!

Can not wait for the first air date!

I hope OLTL & AMC last a VERY, VERY, VERY, long time on line! Can’t wait to hear Erika Slezak as Viki , speak her first word on line !

Ditto

WE ALL DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THE SOAP FANS THAT IS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WE ROARED AND THEY FINALLY HEARD OUR VOICES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It all payed off and it was worth it!
THAT”S WHY WE ARE CALLED LOYAL SOAP FANS!

Totally agree. A big pat on the back for all of us who emailed, called, wrote letters, etc. Still pinching myself that it worked. lol.

You know, I wish them all the best. However, I’ll be curious as to once it starts airing, how many folks on this site are going to be complaining because it’s “different” than what they are used to and how it’s not the same.

I know I won’t be complaining. There are enough veteran characters to keep me involved and it will be great seeing the new ones develop and become part of the family.

I am pretty damn excited for the return of All My Children. The most i have in like 10 yrs. I do not understand all the hate the teens are getting. For one Teen romance was an All My Children staple and two these are all children of legacy characters/families.

What can I say?????YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Infinity.

I loved OLTL & AMC for the show it WAS, I dont know if I can get invested in the new ones, seems way to different. I just hope Todd, Star,& John can come back to GH, but I dont think it will happen.

That’s the thing it’s NOT the same show so those fans who are thinking that it’s going to be the same are in for a rude awakening. This will go the way of the 90210 who brought in some veterans and adults (meaning non-teens) but they were eventually phased out. We are not the demographic they are trying to grow.

How can anyone judge what this will be in the future without seeing the first show? We all worked hard to get this done! I will enjoy this new AMC with all my heart . I am one of the people who have watched this show since almost day 1 and remember how all the soaps were done. I remember Ruth sitting at her kitchen table drinking coffee with Joe and Joes Mom. When they started going to the hospital for a scene it was great, a bit of variety. I know many of these soaps came from beginnings on the radio. That had to have been quite a change for those fans that heard it on the radio, go on to to Black and White TV ! What a thought! Then we saw how flashy our soaps became as the years went on. Location shoots!!!!!! All the time we had new young people come through and become the veterans we see now or they made their exits. We either accepted the changes or stopped watching. Agnes Nixon, the awesome writer that started this show and other soaps is now back to oversee the new changes. I feel if she is with the folks as they start again, it will remain the classy show that had great story lines. Never trashy but tasteful! We may not be the “demographic they are trying to grow” but they have to start somewhere! As always what I write anywhere is always IMHO !!!!

This video is beautiful and everyone looks fantastic. I’d love to see the OLTL shoot too. I am so excited by the return of both shows.

you can’t help but laugh, at seeing the anchors… the originals… mixed in with the newbies…. if they anchor the show and give their all…. w/Agnes…. and Fan support…

laugh at the surreal’ness… of ALL THIS.

I know, Patrick. me too. lol.

I stopped watching OLTL some years back because I was already watching AMC (on video, at night) and it was an hour. Now however that both shows are cut down I will probably tune in to both.
I am very glad to see that they have (On AMC) Dixie, Angie, Jesse, Opal, Adam and Brooke and some other familiar faces – I don’t mind a recast of JR Chandler and others here and there, as long as they introduce them gradually. I wonder about things like the sets, the Opening Sequence, the pace, (since they won’t have to
constantly stop for commercials) that kind of thing – I guess we’re all curious about those things –

This is absolutely awesome and I can’t wait to start watching both shows again, especially One Life To Live !!!

Prospect Park is definitely a visionary company in resurrecting both of these shows and I believe they will be a huge success since an online format is the future. Personally I watch a lot of shows online as I recently cancelled my cable and just watch online the next day anyways. I am curious to see exactly how many people watch the shows since I never believed the current ratings system for TV viewing to be accurrate.

Prospect Park rocks. Amazing video. Amazing actors. And welcome to the new faces! AMC and OLTL…welcome to the future! Can’t wait.

AMC Cast has gone sexier and edgy. Especially The Teens my god! I think OLTL Teens have gone sexier and edgy to. This will get more ratings for all ages. Can’t wait to watch my favorite soaps!

I honestly can’t wait to see both shows. The actors looked amazing at the photo shoot 🙂

I feel sorry for the viewers that can’t get with the program. The ones that can’t embrace change, yet are stuck in mental limbo by criricizing these efforts. Life is too short to focus on anything, other that what will make you happy. The very utterance of this reboot, only proves the shows aren’t out of your systems. So with that, love live the reboot!!

Amen!!

For some of us, it’s not that we can’t get WITH the program. It’s that we just can’t get the program. Hulu and Huluplus are not available in Canada. So much for the WORLD wide web. And since I am already paying for internet, i can’t afford to be paying for itunes to watch AMC no matter how much i want to. But if it comes on to something else and it’s free and actually available to the entire viewing audience, then I will be watching.

Well Larry this understandable, but PP is working on international deals too. It would just be nice, if fans read more..before assuming the worse. Most don’t see their favorite star aboard, and assume they’ll never join. Most never read statements from the actors explaining they may come later. I just always research before I speak, and I hope these deals works out for Canadian viewers too.

Hey Michael, has Prospect Park given you a date or any information as to when their website will be up and running? Would be cool if they could get an actual live website that gave new details, photos and information of what’s to come….just curious if you have heard anything. I’m on the mailing list, but am greedy and impatient and want more…LOL

I would guess around April when the shows are set to premiere. And I’m sure they’re waiting for the final cast photos to design the website.

I don’t know when they will add things, but they do have a you tube channel for extras and behind-the-scenes footage that you can also subscribe to. https://www.youtube.com/feed/UCS3ssL4Ebz67qum1f9vrZkQ

Thanks you two….

Will Joe Martin be playing the role of Hugh Hefner?

I got goosebumps! It won’t be much longer until we see Pine Valley and Llanview again! 🙂

I am so happy for these actors that were treated so badly by ABC/Disney. I love you all and welcome you back with open arms and a full and happy heart!!!!! But, while I’m grateful to Prospect Park for bringing my shows back to me, I have to say they aren’t treating the fans any better than ABC/Disney did. Note to Prospect Park: You are not treating the fans of these shows fairly by being secretive and deliberately evasive. We are not your adversaries – we are just as invested as you to have these shows succeed. Let us in.

IT LOOKS GOOD….

It looks Great… when you look at the original cast members…

that’s where the heart lies…. with….

and i’ll champion the newbies… that they give it their all like the originals… that we love.

forgot to add…: for those who listen to Dan J. Kroll… on his soapcentrallive internet show….

just this past fridays’ show….spoke about 1/2 hour soaps…. how AMC has that much more time… to prep… retake scenes…. reshoot to get that scene just “right” etc…

this can only benefit the show as a whole…. newbies: give the originals’ the respect they command….

Oye! can only imagine what it takes to soap.

So excited! Just bought a new lap top, I’m ready!

A HUGH CONGRATS!! To all AMC & OLTL fans includin myself (GH fan first) for the shows going on. We fought and fought for them we did it!! I am so happy for everyone involved and wish ya’ll very happy decades with your soap family, friends and fans. This is truly amazing dreams can come true! And a very special thank you to all the cast that is coming back to make this happen for their fans. You rock and are amazing talent with hearts of gold.

I want to thank Prospect Park for following through with their plan to revive AMC & OLTL. Granted, it was much later than intended, but at least they (the shows) are almost here. Also, a HUGE thanks to all the fans that pushed PP to keep their promise. We saved our “families”!!!

Ok. For all the tech virgins out there…..Can someone explain:

1. Date of first AMC show?
2. Where do you go to get it?
3. Is there something we can check now?
etc etc.

THanks for the help!
🙂

I am totally blown away with excitement that our soaps AMC and OLTL are back.
And to see some of our fav actors resumming their roll is beyond all dreams.
I wish you all the best and may this be the beginning of many years together ahead for all of us.

I WANT VICTOR/TSJ BACK FOR TEA SAM DANI N JACK! NOT TO VINDICATE TODD WHO SHOT HIM.

when? when? when? I can’t wait! WHOOP WHOOP!

Well, everyone looks great!!!!!! and I can’t wait!

How sad it is to me to look back at this from just a few short years ago and realize that it just didn’t work out as an “on-line” presentation ~ we all had such high hopes and it seemed that it could work – I don’t think the actors were prepared for what was ahead, but of course, in show-business or should I say the Entertainment industry one never knows for sure what will make it, and what will not. I do not think it’s a reflection of the shows (meaning OLTL and AMC) I think that Prospect Park just bit off more than they could chew. Had ABC-TV combined the two shows into one daytime drama, and trimmed it down to a half hour, it’s remotely possible that the shows could have survived in that fashion. But I feel that ABC was unwilling to modify their existing programs and unyielding in their declaration of the shows being cancelled. Their refusal to experiment with another format of the two shows only assisted their ultimate demise.

Pluto TV picked-up the All My Children Channel that the Nixon family has created in partnership with BEONDTV +. The show which aired for 41 years on ABC and ended on the network in 2011, had so many memorable storylines and characters; the least of which is the enduring run of Erica Kane played by soap icon, Susan Lucci.

As previously reported, starting with episodes from the year 1995, which was the 25th anniversary of the soap. Pluto TV Canada viewers will be able to catch 8 episodes on repeat per day. With the success of the venture, the Nixons are hopeful that they will bring viewers many more years of the show to come.

Mark Consuelos Mourns the Loss of His Father

Published

Saul Consuelos, the father of All My Children alum and Live with Kelly and Mark co-host, Mark Consuelos (ex0-Mateo, AMC), has died. During an emotional moment on this mornings, April 6 edition of the syndicated talk show, Mark shared, that his dad, “passed away peacefully” back on March 23 following a long illness.

His wife and co-host, Kelly Ripa (ex-Hayley, AMC) paid tribute to her her father-in-law expressing, he was, “the greatest person I’ve ever known. I can honestly say I will miss him every day for the rest of my life, as I know you will, as our children will. He really is so symbolic of everything you are.”

Kelly and Mark’s children, Joaquin, Michael and Lola Consuelos are said to be taking this extremely hard. Ripa added, “This is the first loss they’ve ever experienced in their lives. And I said, ‘By the time I was 8, I had no grandparents. You got to grow up (with grandparents). You got to have deep, meaningful conversations (with them).”

In another moment, Mark reflected on his dad. “It’s funny, I used to make a joke about my dad … if you asked him what time it was, he would tell you how to build a watch. There were a lot of lectures, a lot of lectures and I learned so much. If he was fixing something in the house, he’d make me watch and do it. And I didn’t know at the time why he was doing that. But now at the house, I’m able to do at least half of the stuff that he did. I learned the most by just watching him.”

Mark added that Saul Consuelos came to the U.S. from Mexico in his early teens and served our county for decades, detailing, he “Ended up at Special Operations Command in Tampa. This young kid from Mexico just got his education from the navy. Was always going to school. Was brilliant. Got his Masters while I was a kid.  He loved his country so much, If you’re going to put a face to an immigrant, he would be the prime example of what this country promises people.”

In a very heart-tugging moment, Consuelos shared that now its important they be there for his mother, Camilla. “We gotta take care of mom. We’re trying to convince my mom to move to New York. She’s such a character, she’s stubborn. What do you think, a cooking segment here on Fridays with Camilla?”

Now below, watch the very touching and emotional moments as Mark Consuelos and Kelly Ripa mourn the loss of Saul Consuelos.

Sarah Michelle Gellar Visits ‘The View’ Where Hosts Sidestep Controversial ‘Buffy’ Reboot Axing, But Talk ‘All My Children’

Published

on

By

On yesterday’s March 17 episode of The View, All My Children alum, Sarah Michelle Gellar (ex-Kendall Hart), was the special guest. Since Monday, Gellar has been the subject of a hot-button issue since about the surprising turn of events that the highly-anticipated Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot, in which she stars, and which was directed in the pilot by Oscar-winning director, Chloé Zhao, was no longer moving forward.

Gellar‘s appearance on the ABC morning talk show was devoid of any mention of Hulu cancelling its planned Buffy: New Sunnydale, in which Sarah was set to appear along with Ryan Kiera Armstrong. However, Gellar did discuss her new movie Ready or Not 2: Here I Come from Searchlight Pictures.

It should be noted that both Hulu and Searchlight Pictures are owned by The Walt Disney Company, while The View is produced by ABC News, which is also owned by The Walt Disney Company.

During the awkward interview, when it became clear the ‘Buffy’ reboot topic was off the table, The View co-host Sunny Hostin, talked about the “intense fight scenes” that have become a staple of her TV and film career starting with Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Scream 2, and I Know What You Did Last Summer.

The ladies of The View also brought up Sarah’s beginnings on All My Children as Kendall Hart (1993-1995), showing a scene with her and her on-screen mother, the iconic Erica Kane, played by Susan Lucci. The discussion sprung out of another All My Children alum, Michael B. Jordan (ex-Reggie Montgomery) winning the Oscar this past Sunday for Best Actor for his role in Sinners. The View’s Joy Behar was quick to point out with Gellar, the All My Children alums that have gone on to great fame.

Photo: ABC

Previously on Monday, Gellar opened up to PEOPLE about being blindsided before while at the SXSW Film & TV Festival premiere for Ready or Not 2: Here I Come. “I got the call as we were stepping onto stage for the premiere of their own movie. And it’s also the weekend of Chloé going to the Oscars as a best director nominee for Hamnet. For them to call us on the Friday of what should have been Chloé’s victory lap for an incredible film, and my world premiere of something that I worked very hard for is… that says something.”

She went to say, “We had an executive on our show who was not only not a fan of the original, but was proud to constantly remind us that he had never seen the entirety of the series and how it wasn’t for him.” Deadline reports that “multiple sources” identified the executive as Disney Television Group President Craig Erwich.

“I loved the duality that we had with this new, younger slayer who was where Buffy was when the show started, and then we would pick up with where Buffy was now,” Gellar told People about the setup.  However, according also to Deadline “After the pilot was completed and delivered, according to multiple sources, Hulu’s main note was that it played too young, with some indicating that the streamer also felt the show was too “small.”’

In the rewrite, sources also told the outlet that the writers did not take big enough swings, so they set out to do a rewrite it again. The last revision was more adult, featuring a lot more of Gellar’s Buffy, and was described as a more of a streaming show than a network one. When all is said and done there is hope that another Buffy IP will be up and running within the next couple of years.

You can check out Sarah Michelle Gellar’s full segment on The View below. Now let us know, bummed there is no Buffy reboot? What do you think about how this high profile Hollywood saga was side-stepped on the morning show? Did you love Sarah as the original Kendall Hart on All My Children?
