General Hospital
GENERAL HOSPITAL: Alexis Stabs Julian, Cassadine Curse, Laura Gets A Clue, Josslyn's Kidney Mystery!

Courtesy/ABC
Let’s first give props to the performances of William deVry, who we love when he gets to play the darker shades of Julian Jerome, and Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis) for their riveting Julexis implosion in key scenes on the pier on Friday’s episode of General Hospital.
After realizing she was wearing a wire to frame him to confess to the murders of Carlos Rivera and Duke Lavery, Julian decides its got to be curtains for Alexis, and he kidnaps her and takes her to the pier. A disraught, but unhinged Julian tells his wife that she now has left him no choice, but to kill her. She tries to counter that if he kills her, he will kill their unborn child, too. Julian tells her he knows she is lying and trying to out maneuver him. Then Julian says that she may have made him a better man, but she also destroyed that man. Julian is about to slit Alexis’ throat, just like had happened to her mother! Just then, it was Sonny (Maurice Benard) to the rescue. He brings out his gun and Julian and Sonny start to have their long-awaited showdown, but as they tussle, Alexis grabs the knife from the ground and stabs Julian in the back. Alexis is freaked out, shocked, and horrified that she used this knife to try to kill her husband. Sonny saves the day for Alexis, when he sees that Julian is still breathing, and puts his fingerprints on the knife in Julian’s back, so it won’t be Alexis who will take the fall for the attempted murder.

Julian is taken to General Hospital, where Anna (Finola Hughes), Paul (Richard Burgi) and Jordan (Vinessa Antoine) show up. After Jordan tells Alexis she will see her at the station in the morning to get her statement, Alexis thanks Sonny for saving her life. Alexis wants to go home to her girls who are worried sick about their mom. The doctor comes out and tells Alexis that her husband is going to live. Alone, Julian still with the knife in his back, utters that he’s not done with Alexis. What does he mean? Is he going to try to kill her … or is he going to try to win her back?
Elsewhere on Cassadine Island, Jason (Billy Miller) and Sam (Kelly Monaco) and Nikolas (Nick Stabile) and Ava (Maura West) are playing a game of cat and mouse. Nikolas is tryng to get to his cell phone. Spencer (Nicolas Bechtel) has been calling multiple times. The lights go out and Nikolas reminds Sam of the Cassadine Curse that will destroy her and Jason. He escapes in the dark to the wine cellar, but gets knocked out. Jason finds him and brings him upstairs. Nikolas shows Ava he has a phone now. Sam and Jason are suspicious that they are all not alone, and someone else is in the Cassadine compound. A figure, who will turn out to be James Patrick Stuart debuting in his new role, is looming!

And in even a further mystery, Sonny has news for Carly (Laura Wright) about a development in locating Josslyn’s kidney donor. He brings the woman to the Metro Court, who is the former hospital administrator named Ramona. When alone chatting with Carly, Ramona admits that she received Josslyn’s kidney from a woman she had never seen before, and of course, her description was that of Helena Cassadine. Carly pulls up Helena’s image on her phone and asks Ramona if this is the woman. Ramona confirms it. Then, when Ramona walks away she in the entrance way to the dining room of the hotel talking to someone on her phone saying that Carly bought her story, hook, line, and sinker. Who could she be working for?

Courtesy/ABC
Laura (Genie Francis) and Kevin (Jon Lindstrom) finally got a clue and wised-up and figured out that Spencer was using a second phone, a burner phone, to communicate with someone over and over again, and that someone was also calling Spencer over and over again. It would appear Laura is this close to discovering her son Nikolas is alive. Will she end up on Cassadine Island, too?
It was a solid episode of GH were there were several plot developments for a heading-into-the-weekend cliffhanger on the ABC daytime drama series. So, what did you think of the performances of William deVry and Nancy Lee Grahn? What will Julian do next? What will go down next on Cassadine Island? What do you think of the on-screen chemistry between Maura West and Nick Stabile? Where do you think the Josslyn kidney donor storyline is ultimately heading? Share your thoughs on the episode in the comment section below!
Last weekend;
People over and us girls were aside watching GH on the big screen and commenting etc etc as we do for fun..
Well, others hung out and looked in and it was said;
That looks like a Hardy Boy mystery.. the other said ‘no, Nancy Drew.’. And the last- a Highschool Play .. ahha
think they were just mocking GH for fun, but???
I Was told a weebit as to who the Hardies and Drew were.. next day I googled them and it was books written for children, kid mysteries!!!!!!!
Is GH really that lame! (gotta be, yes) LOL LOL ..
Anyways– I want a dark hard core villain and I hope Valentin Cassidine will be written as he has been billed to be, worse, darker than Helena. The devil himself risin ..
I am luvin the Casidines!!
MORE! CASIDINES.. (I want all of them back!
sidenote;
If Julian was as horribly bad, a treacherous mobster as so many believe him to be he would have slit Alexis throat during the first 10 seconds.. Julian is being written soft.
I hope J&S will do the Cassadines justice, write them as to who they are, Cassadines!
you give good GH

Su0000, I’m just glad they’re not pretending that Julian is “good” anymore. I was one of those who watched the original Julian shoot his own sister. (Olivia. Not the current Olivia. By the way, isn’t it kind of creepy that he has an affair and a child with a woman with the same name of the sister he murdered? Ah well, who remembers history anymore)
That’s what happens when you choose to ignore the awful truth like Donald Trump IS headed to the White House Good hello us all …LOL. .NOT REALLY..HELP ME AUNTIE EM. .I’M FRIGHTENED
GOD help us all. .and GOOD. .LOL
i don’t think having an affair with 2 women of the same.
name is as creepy as having an affair with a mother and daughter or having a affair with your son’s lover or having an affair with your best friend’s much younger sister.
Great point Shari… Sonny is kind of skeevy isn’t he…. Then again Julian fathered Sam when he was 8 years old…. (It’s true, look up the actors’ ages, lol)
GH pumping on all cylinders! Currently best entertainment on TV, say or night……
You keep forgetting that you are MALE, Su. Lol. I have messages saved of yours that confirm this. Whatever floats your boat, bro, but why pretend?
hi Dylan ..
please post them .. I’d like to see my jock side LOL ..
All I can think of is Jack Lemmon pulling off his wig in “Some Like it Hot” and saying,”I’m a man” to which Osgood Fielding responds,”Well, nobody’s perfect.”
Didn’t Genie Francis look lovely in that pink top? And her sparkly personality is coming through more and more. More Genie/Laura and less Julian, OK? 🙂
Nancy, she looked beautiful–love her.
Genie is gorgeous, nancy. Always the beautiful lady.
Suoo, do not knock The Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew until you’ve read them.
They’re great fun and no, not indicative of being old. My sons read The Hardy Boys series when they were about ten and loved it–that was only 5 years ago. My ten year old niece is also an avid reader of the The Nancy Drew series.
You have a habit of knocking anything which is before your time (although I suspect you’re much older than you pretend to be) instead of appreciating their beauty and timeless appeal. Try educating yourself on these matters before you speak of them. Do you even know who The Beatles are?
hey Harry..
I was repeating a comment not making it 🙂
Not knocking them, I had never heard of them..
But after a googling of them I can see how a 10yr old would love them.
When I was that age I would have loved to have read them,
Watch the Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew tv series. They’re on Youtube. Most are not for kids, especially the 2nd season. I would say older teen to adult shows in the beginning. Then the guys grow up and always seem to a different girl in each show in the second season. I really like the shows.
Well, well, well….CeeCee called it correctly…..but of course, old SonnyBoy emerged as “hero of the day,” yet again! How predictable….and dull! ‘Twould have been far, far more fulfilling—not to mention fitting—for Alexis to have taken it right between the cleavage with Helena’s precious dagger, given the “Ice Queen’s” famous penchant for Baroque revenge!” Alas, disappointment abounds once more when it comes to a GH storyline……
It would have been great if Anna had come to the rescue. Then it could have been a woman as rescuer rather than the typical man-saves-woman thing. Plus it would have given Anna the closure she needs so badly by avenging Duke. Now we’re going to have to put up with a lot of nauseating scenes of everyone thanking Sonny for saving Alexis.
@Melissa….Whilst I’m all for restoring Anna’s rightful place on the GH canvas as Port Charles’ ultimate alpha-female/law enforcer—and police commissioner once again to boot, since she really needs her old job back, as Jordan is simply not cutting it!–I’m still roiled at the notion that she was the one who played a part in saving Alexis’ bacon after months of truly inexcusable behavior repeated by Ms, Davis toward the Divine Devane. The only reason Alexis was even in that pickle was due to her own considerable hubris, gullibility and complicity with Julian and his crimes, including murder….she totally skirted the law for him, and the last person on earth who should have rescued her from her well-deserved fate was Anna. I realize in the end that Alexis did offer a feeble apology, but for me it was just too little, too late, and I do credit Ms. Devane for being the bigger person and setting up the sting to finally catch Julian in all of his lies. However, I feel like once again, Alexis and her blind, utter stupidity get to live another day and will be given a pass so that she can go on to yet her umpteenth ill-suited relationship, because that’s just what she does…. she never, ever learns from her mistakes, no matter how huge and ridiculous the transgressions of which her insatiable libido always lands her. As for the ongoing “Sonny saves the day” meme, I’m waiting for him to be presented the key to the city for his “selfless heroics.” Hey, it could happen, remember he already received an unconditional pardon from the governor for being such a brave and swell dude under pressure!
Personally I kept hoping Julian would turn the knife onto himself. I think that would have been the truly tragic and Shakespearean outcome. Telling Alexis she destroyed them and him, and then plunge the dagger right into his heart. But no and now what? At this point Julian is written into a corner he either escapes to cause havoc down the road, or he goes to prison again, or he dies— I think if had taken the knife to himself, and given a great speech in his dying moments that was a great way to end the character. Plus my way, he would have denied both Sonny and Anna of their form of revenge which at this point I would have love because I am getting sick of both of them and their unending need for justice for Duke.
@MarySF….Ooooh, I like that scenario……but it would have been even more poetic and Shakespearean if Julian had taken Alexis with him, using Helena’s “magic dagger,” no less!!! Really, that woman is just too stupid to deserve to live!!!! Both characters were painted into a ludicrous corner months ago….all they did was constantly copulate and commit/cover-up crimes….neither had any redeemable values to speak of….so a murder-suicide at Julian’s hands would have made for a very dramatic, satisfying and long-overdue exit for two GH characters who have run their course. At the same time, it would have also given Anna an “eye for an eye” denouement for her grief over Duke’s loss…..yes, it has been overdone and turned her into an unrecognizable pool of unstable mush, but all in all, Duke wasn’t that bad of a guy….not along the lines of Sonny and Julian….he was more of a dandified mobster-lite wannabee in search of an identity and purpose in Port Charles, which in the end, he never found before his life was tragically cut short.
“Written into a corner” is so right (GH does it best” 🙂
BUT the quesion remains (rhetorical, of course–we all know the answer to THAT one): WILL THE TAKE JULIAN OFF THE CANVAS as they should???
Shay…You seem to have your own revenge curse when it comes to Alexis’s cleavage. Actually slitting Alexis throat is more in line with what Helena did to Alexis mom’s since this is what she did to her in front of A when she was a little girl.
Why, yes, Rose, I suppose I do harbor a not-so-secret death wish for both Alexis and her overexposed embonpoint! LOL….Despite the fact such a scenario would deviate from Helena’s original use of that divinely diabolical dagger, I strongly suspect that even the Cassadine queen wouldn’t have objected if said weapon were to have been used in such a symbolically-suitable manner. In other words, it still would have gotten the job done just the same, simply with a more fitting flourish!
Don’t knock cleavage, Shay! It catches cracker crumbs and wayward popcorn one can save for later.
Yes, Rose. That would have been poetic justice. Good call.
I just seen the episode-i wish Julian had stabbed both Sonny and Alexis then he tripped and fell on the knife-love threesomes-lol
Jimh…Then somehow they roll over the edge and into the water, never to be seen again (maybe).
Oh, Shay, my sweet! This scenario could not have gone any other way. Sonny is on the road to redemption, don’t you know!! What a fallacy.
Does any one of us, who loathes what Sonny represents, feel any differently for Sonny, now that he is the absolute hero? A fiend is a fiend, is a fiend.
Oh, yeah….which reminds me, Shaybelle; there’s an obvious added bonus for him for ‘taking credit’ in stabbing the other fiend.
Had Julian succeeded in using the ‘tainted’ dagger on Alexis, its symbolism would have certainly sent Helena into peals of cackling laughter, projecting ominously and loudly from the netherworld.
You do have a point there, CeeCeeGirl! The “heroic Sonny” meme does seem to be carved in stone! Perhaps MB’s contract stipulates a redemption scenario for his alter ego at least once per fortnight???? LOL….just a thought, not to mention a plausible explanation for the always reliable “Dimples do right” theme. As for your suppositions regarding Helena and her supernatural sniggers of self-satisfaction? You appear to be operating on the notion that the “Ice Queen” is indeed no longer for this world…..I’m remaining optimistic that such is not the case, as I hope that she shall eventually be facing her greatest adversary, Valentin, in the flesh!
@Shay.
Oh, no, no, no, no, ma belle. Never will I resign myself to think that Helena does not walk the earth. Her mystical/supernatural powers allow her to roam at will, anywhere and everywhere. She also walks the River Styx, as I said, many times. That river connects to Pier 54, don’t you know!?
Indeed, I even suggested she is also skulking around at La Maison Cassadine Grecque, unbeknownst to ‘Theo’.
More hens arriving from PC ( as someone already suggested….can’t recall whom)……oh, joy! Feathers flying!!
By the by….just love your appellation: ” Dimples do right”. Got a kick out of that.
Alrighty then, CeeCeeGirl, glad we’re on the same page when it comes to our beloved Helena!….No matter how improbable it may seem that she took the teapot’s last licking—yet kept on ticking, well, I’m all for that outcome….Miss Constance Towers is simply too delicious a diabolical diva to see her suffer such an inglorious final farewell as the one supposedly accorded to the Cassadine matriarch. She still has much mayhem to work here in her earthly surroundings, both on “Iniquity Island” and Port Charles….i.e., vanquish Valentin and torture Alexis far more….especially if the showrunners persist with the ridiculously revolting notion that she is carrying Julian’s progeny! Now wouldn’t “Lady Helena” find that one to be an absolute hoot? What next? “Dimples Do Right” as godfather—that’s with a lower case “g,” by the way……LOL!—for said “miracle baby?” Yep, sounds about right, and thank you, mia amica…..I’m pleased his latest moniker ticked your fancy!
Great episode today.
This show has been exciting and unpredictable as hell the past three weeks…and is firing on all cylinders from the acting to the writing…they are telling new stories without recycling old ones to death…which is all the other three are doing repeatedly.
KEEP NICK STABILE…he has been one of the main keys to why GH is red hot at the moment…what a sexy charming talented actor with incredible chemistry with Maura West…and he has the perfect look of a rich European prince…sorry to all of the Tyler Christopher fans but….KEEP NICK STABILE…don’t bring him back as some newbie but let him continue to play Nikolas Cassadine for good…don’t mess with what is working cause he is working bigtime.
Team Stabile all the way!
As I have said a few days ago, Valentin is in that house on Cassadine Island. Who else would it be? Open and shut. Is Hell-en-a there, as well?
I hope to the gods that bombastic Jason and the cowardly prince ( who ran away from his problems instead of facing them) do not get into more fistcuffs…to put it mildly. Jason and his bear-like approach to life is soooo droll.
Finally, Laura gets a clue? The woman is not that naive….she’s pretty wily……let’s not affix ‘stupid’ on this wonderful actress/character. I think the writers should have made it clear to the viewer that she has been on to her grandson all along……. That something did not jive with him.
TPTB should have allowed Laura to have figured out that Spencer knew more about his father’s disappearance than he was letting on. This is a woman who has ‘feelers’ when something is awry with her loved ones.
Nancy Grahn was spectacular!!!!! I believed that scenario. Her fear was palpable. A million kudos and then some!!!!! I did not see it coming. She was magnificent, albeit William did not wow me…..not impressed.
Are we to pity him now, hopefully, on his death bed? The fact that he drew from his ‘superior manly’ strength (HA) to overpower a woman depicts this miserable excuse for a man in the worst possible way. The picture of a milksop. This is a tough guy? One who preys on women? That does not a man make.
And then, along comes Sonny, ….cool, slick, Sonny to save the day! Of course he would !!!! Just as he magically got hold of Nurse Whatshername ……. This is Sonny’s saving grace? Beelzebub has many faces. He must have borrowed one of Faison’s masks, but forgot his horns at home.
This thing with Carly and her daughter’s kidney transplant is so crass…..Not to sound apathetic ( not real), but, not only is this going to be another unsavory story, but, I do not appreciate this ploy used to appeal to our emotions. It’s one thing if worked, but, so far, I feel nothing. Perhaps if we saw Joss, once in a while; I would have developed some ‘feeling’….but, the girl is a ghost, as it were.
The only bright light for me is having the chance to get to know Jax, since everyone has been ‘gushing’ over him.
I’m with you on the Joss story. Not terribly interested in it, especially since they can’t seem to cast a decent Joss, but I’m sure it’s more about Carly and her constant laughing instead…boring!!
I tell ya Celia, it’s the curse of that knife that did this to Julian. There is hope for Julexis fans everywhere. LOL!
The trouble is that when Ron C as one of his final acts before leaving the show, changed history and had little Jake alive. That change left a gaping hole that had to be filled of how Jake survived, whose kidney did Joss get and how to connect it to Helena and family.
Of course Ron knew he wasn’t going to be around to fill that hole, but J and S have no choice but to do this story and try to make lemonades out of lemons. If they don’t fill this hole, viewers would nag them forever to explain all the details of how Jake survived and whose kidney was used.
So I am all for, getting this story done and over with and we can all move on, and lets hope no future writer decides to undo it all again, and we find out the real Jake is really dead and this Jake was some clone Helena whipped up in her lab.
Leave it to you, Mary, to bring wisdom to an otherwise ‘fantabulistic’ and convoluted story. I hope this story will reach a conclusion and be done with it.
Kudos to you, Mary…little Jake not being the real little Jake? Hmmmm! What a super premise! A clone, created by Helena.
Also, I was so sure Valentin was in that blasted Cassadine abode on the island, but, we got a bird’s eye view of someone’s back of the head. Looked young. Now, I am not so sure. So typical of me to jump the gun, HaHa.
Nearly a year later, poor J and S are still in full on damage control mode! As a writer myself, I do not envy those women!! They took over a steaming pile of dung heap with record low ratings, and had to try to make some sense of it! Thankless job! It is also apparent that certain powers above have given them mandates on which actors they have to keep, and which characters they write for. I am glad that they are finally being given a chance to tell some of their own stories, rather than just tying up Ron’s loose end. I mean ends. There were some really rotten lemons left behind, so making the lemonade is going to take some time, but I think it will be worth it!
Agree with you re Laura.
“William did not wow me” either.
And, yes, why oh why Sonny to the rescue?
I have been hoping for Valentin Cassidine to show up. Any man that was able to terrify her “royal highness” Helena has got to be a great villain. I bet he had Helena killed just for sport. Too bad Luke Spencer is not around for the arrival of this Cassidine psychopath. Maybe Tony Geary could be persuaded to return.
Hey, mary….
Your posts brought to mind an episode of CRIMINAL MINDS where these two ungodly brothers hunted humans (in the woods) for sport.
While I am perfectly aware it’s not, in any way, humorous; you brought Helena’s image to mind; dressed in full regalia fit for ‘The Vampire Huntress’.
If Luke came back (my knowledge of Luke’s and the Cassadines’ relationship is limited), would there be another ‘Clash of the Titans”?
I have to agree that fridays episode was solid, and every story had me watching, although everytime i see jason and sam i want someone to smack the them silly, and temp nikolas well, i hope tyler comes back to the role soon, this storyline is not the same without him, i’m loving ava, she’s been the saving grace in this plot. As for julian always thought he was a weasel, so what else is there to say.
INCREDIBLE performances Wednesday, Thursday and Friday! Kudos all around bc I was sitting on the edge of my seat and watched live all 3 days for the first time in ages… Wow, watched WmDevry twice on Weds. to catch the nuances on both sides with NLG &WE bc I think they were that good. IMHO, nothing sophomoric played out.
Who is the actress that played Ramona? No one seems to know, but she looks familiar.
I was wondering the same thing. She kind of looks like Sarah Paulson but not.
Ces, isn’t she Glynnis O’Connor, who played Dawn Stewart on AS THE WORLD TURNS in the 1970s? I believe she was daughter of Ellen & David Stewart and sister to Carol Ann (Annie). Am I off in my recollection?
Found her! Laura Niemi.
Soaphound — did a little investigating and the actress is Laura Niemi; guess she’s had small roles on Bones, Grey’s Anatomy & Days. I must have seen her on Days since I don’t watch the other shows but still have no idea who she played. Guess no one special? Lol.. just a memorable face!
Glynnis O Connor played Margo Hughes after Ellen Dolan left for a brief time.
She could pass for Genie Francis’s sister!
Who wants to watch more violence please…
Well obviously Sonny won’t be charged in Julian’s stabbing because MOBSTER HOSPITAL couldn’t continue without him.
The entire Julian/Alexis fiasco is a waste of Nancy Lee Grahn and William deVry’s talents. I’d like to think there are writers out there who could craft a story that didn’t rely on the mob angle and Sonny saving the day yet again. Clearly the point of this story was for Alexis to stab Julian as a result of Helena’s curse but I think creative minds could’ve (and would’ve) crafted long term story that culminated in the same result. Remember when AMC’s Erica stabbed Dmitri after Kendall lied that he raped her? Or when KNOTS LANDING’s Val stabbed Danny after he became abusive? Both of those stories rang true because they came out of believable long-term plotting (and generated even more story as both women’s actions affected other characters).
The Cassadine Island “mystery” is meh at best. Maura West is the only thing saving it from being total fast forward material. I get the feeling Jean and Shelly want to play Sam and Jason as a pair of Hart to Hart romantic sleuths but they have zero chemistry and no rooting power. Ron Carlivati was right to position Jason in a triangle with Liz and Sam — the “will he or won’t he regain his memories” played against Liz’s secret provided fodder for years of story, especially since each woman had given him a child (and neither was beneath playing that card to win in the end). Ron was creating a good old-fashioned soap opera love triangle with each couple having equal rooting power; Jean and Shelly have given us a chemistry free couple whose antics bring the show to a screeching halt every time they’re on together.
As for the kidney “plot” I still think it was Dr. Mayes and he was killed because Carly’s bi-monthly sleuthing had the head of the black market organ donor ring worried that she might put the pieces together before 2056 (provided Sonny didn’t father a dozen more babies with other women that Carly needed to fawn over at the expense of her non-Corinthos offspring).
Love everything you just said!
Very interesting thoughts, Alan, although I’m still surmising that the zaftig busybody, Nurse Amy, may be GH’s real “Angel of Death,” motive as yet to be revealed and probably unrelated to Dr. Mayes and whatever other nefarious activities in which he could been involved, per se. The way she just materialized for no apparent reason—other than to be intrusive and annoying—never made much sense to me. Of course, that could be said for so many of the newbie characters that are currently lurking about in Port Charles, but she does seem to be a good, yet not-so-obvious, suspect….or just another red herring!
I’m waiting for NuAmy to break out in song “Its all about the Bass, no Treble!”
I just yawn when Sam and Jason enter the room dressed in their matching mono chromatic black clothes. Do these two call each other up to ask what they are wearing for the day before meeting up? Man, these two are dull. The scenes start to get interesting and in walks the Lenny and Squiggy of dayime uttering, “Hello!” and I answer,”Goodbye” with the fast forward button.
Hmmm…Shay…Nurse Amy is the angel of death. I LIKE it.
@Harry….Try nursing a “Milk and Pepsi” whenever the monochromatic duo strikes…..it worked a treat for Laverne!
@Shay.
Never mind, Shay. I looked it up….from the LAVERNE AND SHIRLEY show. Not familiar with it. I suppose there are no reruns to be found?
@CeeCee….I do believe the show is currently airing on MeTV????
I was riveted by NLG and WdV’s performances on Thursday’s and Friday’s episodes! Nancy really committed to portraying the terror of being in a situation like that. And the subtle changes in William’s face when it finally dawned on Julian that Alexis was wearing a wire and she later talked about the baby were brilliant!
Cassadine Island was okay. I’m kinda liking Ava and Nicolas together but am holding off judgement until I see Christopher with Maura. I’m never totally thrilled with JaSam in any scene, so couldn’t care what they do. Trying to figure out who is lurking about on the island will intrigue me until I see the reveal.
Was glad to see Laura get a clue and bust Spencer. Am disappointed that her story line regarding her past has been postponed. I’d like to see her and Kevin given more air time. Can’t they bust Spencer while investigating whatever Helena’s stupid letter meant?
Just some thoughts.
agree on everything. Looking forward to Tyler’s return!
I’m thinking everyone might wind up on Cassadine Island including Laura and Doc, which is where Helena’s mystery will play out.
Rebecca1…Liking GH right now. Off topic…just saw the finale of ‘Outlander,’ 2nd season. Wow!
I’m enjoyinf GH a lot, Rose. But the writere really need to work on their fantastical momenta, like people being alive when thought dead, masks, ghosts (where a lot of us choose to go on the fantasy ride) a
Rose, hit submit by mistake, for a wishful second minute confusing it with an edit option…anyway I was just saying I’m loving GH but they’ve got to work on their human interest story reactions which seem more outlandish than their supposed-to-be out there stories which I usually enjoy. Ex: Why hasn’t Alexis heard about Nicolas’s supposed death? Why didn’t Sam have a stronger reaction when Lucas was hanging on to life, why didn’t Sabrina just pick up her baby from his playpen when Tracy told het not to, etc,,,these moments have me laughing and frustrated at the same time. The supposed-to-be far fetched stories are fun and I don’t expect logic there. Still, alll-in-all, I think the show’s been really good.
Outlander!!!!! Yes! Fantastic stuff! (I haven’t read the books so I’m loving not knowing and being swept up each week.) Riviting! One of my favorite shows! And, it’s been picked up for two more seasons! If you haven’t seen Poldark (PBS) I recommend it. Waiting for Season two…
Rebecca1…GH has always had the fantastical from Ice Princess, Vampires to Casey for those of us who like sci-fi type/fantasy stories, and (like what’s happening in ‘Outlander’). So I’m not overly concerned with this percentage.
But like you I want to see good old fashioned relationships…that’s one of the reasons I love the possibilities between Laura and Kevin, Nik and Ava and even Hayden and Finn. But “no” to Franco and Liz. Can’t figure the Sam character sometimes…is it the writing, or her acting style? I do like Sabrina. Maybe she didn’t want to rock the boat with Tracey too much…she is legally and personally vulnerable.
Yes, I agree Rose. Perhaps my response was confusing. I LOVE the fantastical stories…all those you mentioned and more….including Caleb the vampire! What I was saying is we go into those stories knowing full well they don’t reflect reality and they’re a great ride, ala Outlander, Game of Thrones, etc. We don’t expect them to be realistic so in that way they’re not absurd. It’s when the stories are addressing real issues and emotions that they sometimes fall flat; that drives me nutz! People come back from the dead and after an initial reaction they’re used to it, people like McBain, Silas, Finn have the exact face, they address it, but with a non chalance. Lucas is near death and Sam visits for a few minutes, has a casual conversation at the elevator then leaves town, without even mentioning her brother again. Laura thinks her son is dead but even her reaction was rather unemotional though somber. I think the writers are too careless with human emotions, human frailty, loss, shick, surprise…yet when Anna mourned Duke, many here were anxious for her to get over it already, whereas I thought it realistic. Same with Nina…people wanted her to behave normal when I thought her psycho journey and breakdown was more realistic than if she’d just awakened from a 20-year coma and emerged unaffected. Granted, she was a tad over-the-top and annoying, but I like how she’s evolved. Point is, I don’t like, “hey, how ya doing I thought you were dead…wanna hang out this weekend?”
I would love to go to Comic-Con in San Diego. Or the StarTrek 50th Anniversary show in Las Vegas. I’ve been seeing a lot of teasers about both shows coming up this year. Oh well…maybe one day.
Yes, I, too, am disappointed that TPTB keep postponing Genie’s–Laura’s–storyline.
Question is WHY since Genie’s legion of fans keep asking for more. (Again, a rhetorical question: WE ALL know the answer to that one, also. 🙂
I really don’t understand why we are not getting more Genie/Laura and only snatches of Kevin and Laura. Two great actors with so much potential!
I absolutely love the work Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis) is doing. That said, the writing on this show needs SERIOUS help. The worst of the worst: Sonny rescuing Alexis. Really? Not Anna, who has SO much more experience at this thing?
And BTW, everyone knows who don’t need an arrest warrant when doing a sting. They could’ve immediately gone in there and saved Alexis. This stuff is SO INSULTING to the audience.
Agreed. Heck for that matter Anna could have knocked on the door pretending to just drop by to see Alexis. And how did they not have every entrance covered by a police officer once they sensed things were turning sour? They have to stop portraying the PCPD as being a bunch of corrupt idiots. Give the mob some real adversaries. Would make for greater dramatic tension.
PCPD=WEAK!
Well. not sure how all those Julexis fans will recover from this. Not sure how **Julexis** will make it out of this, but for me… I thought it was great stuff! Love Nancy Lee Grahn & William DeVry’s work during all this and I know as actors, they must love this challenge. Playing lovey dovey has to get boring …. so, for that, it’s awesome! Now… if GH plans to bring them back together, guess they’ll have to say Helena cursed that damn knife. Like the Shining ….it was @ that time that Julian started acting whacky; when the knife came in the house. Just sayin’
Love Doc & Laura and wish we could see more of them unravel; not just short moments. Little Mr. Nicholas is so damn cute and I usually am not a fan of child actors, but this little kids has chops!!
Eh …. not terribly interested in the whole Joss story. I want to know who’s taking care of Avery while Carly & Sonny are running around town? Great care there – Nannies!
I suppose if one wanted to get out of this plot, it could all turn out to be a day dream of Alexis’, what she imagines what would have happened if she goes through with Anna’s plan of wearing a wire— and it would makes some kind of sense if they didn’t want to totally trash the character Julian— the old daydream device would let them take the character to the extreme, but then take it all back, when it turns out to be all be in Alexis mind— not saying this is going to happen, but if it did, it wouldn’t surprise me–
I’m still thinking a curse. Helena did say she was cursing Sam so maybe she cursed that knife too. That has to be the way the writers are heading with the new introduction of Valentin coming along …
Agree with everything you said, Ces. Will and Nancy have been bringin’ it…the angst written on both their faces, broken love, betrayal, fear, desperation. And the kicker is they really loved each other which is why the tragedy is so compelling. I always love Alexis; Julian for me now is both despicable and yet I kinda feel sorry for him. In his convoluted mind he really thought everything was going to be fine then reacted like a cornered animal. Great soapy drama!
I must admit I’m curious about the mystery kidney and somehow I think Laura, Kevin, Carly, Jax are all going to be joining Nic, Sam, Ava and Jason on the Island!
How to get Alexis out of this one? Free her from Julian–and let her be “Alexis” again–intelligent!
It won’t be Alexis who will take the fall for “attempted murder?”
How would it be attempted murder when Julian kidnapped her?
The police know what the situation is, they put her there…
Right? It obviously would have been self defense.
That’s why I call this writing ‘fantabulistic’. Only on the moon…..
OK, you know what: That scene of Julian laying on that hospital gurney in that operating room…and with that knife STILL STUCK in his back…oh, puh-leez!!!!! Then, that Dr. Griffin dude telling Anna, Paul and Jordan that Julian is in ‘stable condition’…oh, come, come now!!!!! What patient is in ‘stable condition’ with a knife STILL STUCK in his or her back?!?!? REALLY DISGUSTING AND EVEN MORE DUMB!!!!! Get real, GH!!!!! No hospital (in real-life and all) is that incompetent!!!!! PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!
That is so funny, Jay!! Oh, yeah….other than the knife sticking out of my back, I’m doing just fine….HaHaHaHa!!!!!!
I’m really enjoying this back and forth, Celia! I guess that some see the knife as half in and others see it as half out…
I had to add my 2 cents… 🙂
So agree!
Same with Hayden walking into the hospital locker room to break into Finn’s locker to get his drugs! What freakin hospital could you actually do that in!
Tim…as always, you are so RIGHT ON, dude!!!!! A-n-d, to me, it’s further proof that Hayden is ONE DUMB CHICK…LOL!!!!!
Later, Tim.
Hysterical stuff, Jay! Reality pills needed in ICU STAT!
James…thanks for the backup, Brother!!!!! And, thanks for making me LOL!!!!! Much, much appreciated.
Later, Brother.
NEVER NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD SAY THIS …..BECAUSE I AM A HUGE BILLY MILLER FAN…..BUT JASON AND SAM AS WRITTEN ARE SO DULL…A REAL SNOOZE…..FAST FORWARD TIME …….THE SHOWS THIS WEEK WERE EX CELLENT…
I know, I never FF Billy on Y&R!
Oh, don’t feel too guilty about your estimation and re-evaluation of ‘Jason’, JK. He’s always been my guy; since his AMC days. Then, when on Y&R, he cinched it for me.
However, I feel exactly as you do. Billy Miller is being represented as a Neanderthal, who beats his chest for Sam. She does nothing to make this character shine. Never mind her….the Sam character was already lackluster; so Jason is doing Sam no disservice.
Yeahyyyy!!!! What a smashing couple! Well, on the upside, JK, at least, each understands one is mumbling to the other.
…that should read……Understands WHAT one is mumbling to the other.
Once again, the thugs beat out the police and come to the rescue! Sonny and Julians fight scene was super weak! And why is Somny “Covering” for Alexis? She’s Stabbed Julian in self defense! Oh, just like Victor on Y&R, Sonnybucks HAS to be the hero!
The Cassadine Island stuff was a yawn! Bring on Valentin AND we know he has Helena as a prisoner!
Very sad to see the weak material given to Genie and Jon! Grab the little brats phone and be done with it!
The kidney mystery seems more and more like a platform to put Ingo in the center just to say “Look whose back” with no story!
Hey Tim…’Sonnybucks’…GOOD ONE…LOL!!!!! Any-hoo, “Sonny The Superhero” is BEYOND RIDICULOUS!!!!! What’s next…Carly becoming Wonder Woman?!?!? BEYOND Y-U-C-K!!!!!!!!!!
Have a good one, dude.
Well I see I missed nothing, how will they ever explain Knifed in the back ? Sorry Sonny confessed so Julian just got in the way. ?? Have to go deleate the dvr. Now if Julian had split Alexis’s throat I may have watched.I am sooo over this show. Sonny wins again. yuck
I don’t know why it would take the police so long to find Julian, it is Port Charles and everyone gets murder on Pier 54, one would think by now that would just be default location for PCPD to go looking for anyone who has a hostage– LOL
Lol!!!!!!! Mary I love you. What about Piers 1 through 53? Or Piers 55 and up? For a small city, 54 Piers is an awful lot! Especially when Pier 54 gets such big coffee, drugs, and arms shipments all the time. Mary, I am SO glad we are Canadian!
What the heck is that supposed to mean, Dylan? You are in the midst of an overwhelming crowd of Americans on these boards. And, the gentleman who gives you this opportunity is American. I hope I have misunderstood your intent, sir…..otherwise you have just insulted an entire nation.
Guess what. I am SO glad I am AMERICAN….Red, White and Blue forever!!
The things you say….geesh!!
Um , Celia. I did not think that post was hard to understand.
Yeah, I thought the van was just a block from Alexis’ house. Couldn’t they have gotten out and run?!?! Cause, as you know, Julian’s men disabled the van with the police sitting in the van!!!
HaHa, that’s funny, Mary. One thing was different, though. Julian did not end up in those murky, mysterious waters where no one ever dies. The forceful vortex devours people and digests them somewhere else for an extended vacation. ‘Til we meet again.
Overall, a good week for GH–lots of varied storylines to enjoy, except the stupidity of Sonny once again saving the day by coming to the rescue of Alexis—boring and predictable writers on that point.
A lot of people are mad about Sonny the hero crap. Why isn’t Liz or Valerie helping Carly with the kidney storyline. I would have loved to see Anna helping Alexis take down Julian.
I feel some sorrow over the final trashing of Julian as William de Vry is genuinely sexy to me, even with that silly haircut meant for a teenager. And the ENTIRE incident should be enough to FIRE Miss Jordan’s behind. Completely inept. Can’t wait for her to find out Nikolas is alive; no doubt she will still arrest Jason for leaving town. She needs to get her nose out of Jason’s life and start repairing her own.
Not sexy to me–Julian must go!
You’re wrong Anna called Sonny because Molly told Anna that Julian was psycho and would kill Alexis that’s when she had to call Sonny because he controls the eastern sea board. Remember the meeting with the five families when Sonny killed Serge. Sonny’s men found her and Julian is an idiot because as a mob boss of a territory he was trying to re-take, why take Alexis there to kill her. It was a dumb move on his part.
Maybe I am a minority but I am not enamored wit the Sam character, never have been. She is always so sullen. There is so little happiness among the Corinthios clan. It is all so dark and so sad and so empty. And I could do with an end of the overripe Cassadine legacy. Please, more humanity?
Yeah, the funebrial bell is constantly tolling in PC. Same as DOOL.
If Sam would change her wardrobe by adding a bit more color to it; perhaps the brightness would not only energize her persona but also spread to the intonation of her voice.
The Cassadine saga should be on its deathbed, should’t it, Iakovos? However, I am anticipating Valentin….only because I have been hoping for a fiend to be Nathan’s father. If Valentin is said man; then, I can hardly contain my ‘excitations’ in seeing him interact with Liesl.
Plus, it would be devine to see a dormant Cassadine heart and brain awakening in Nathan.
I love Ava and Stabile together , also , Newmanwins . I don’t know how much chemistry she has will have with Tyler. I hate what was done to Julian and Alexis. Plus, I’m sick of Sonny and his friendship with the police and Anna and the Duke issue. Wasn’t the man a mobster?
Oh by the way I’m wondering if all of the JaSam fans are happy they’re reunited? They are the most boring couple on this soap. At least when Jason was with Liz he wore different colored shirts. I’m just sayin.
lol. They’re not the only two who are color coordinated. I’ve noticed a few instances where others are matched rather than mixed! But J&S apparently called dibs on tee shirts and black leather.
I’m mostly liking GH lately, especially Ava and Nik together. Right now prefer Nick Stabile as Nicholas. Don’t mean to be disloyal to Tyler, but he just seemed so flat to me this last year, even though he received a daytime award.
Also liking Hayden with Finn, and of course Laura with Kevin.
Agree with others about Sonny coming to Alexis rescue…should have been Anna. Or even Alexis herself starting off with when she kicked Julian in the balls.
Love anything Cassadine, so am looking forward to the new guy and maybe we’ll get to see Helena again. Hoping the Cassadines put the Corinthos on the back burner for a long while.
Not so interested in the Josslyn donor or Jake stories. Would have been better if Jos had been part of storylines, or that Carly paid some attention to her instead of Michael, Morgan, and AJ. And as for Jake, maybe it was the way he was written, but he just was always a little spooky and not very likable.
Loved Friday’s episode! I thought it was one of the best shows they’ve done in quite a while. It had drama, action, suspense, storylines coming to a boil, others going in a different direction, a good hook to make you want to come back on Monday. Everything you look for in a good soap.
Jean and Shelly sure have given Nancy Lee Grahn some interesting material to play, and she’s risen to the occasion as she usually does. I also love that they’re finally writing Julian as the rotten bastard he is, instead of trying to make him Port Charles Father of the Year like the previous writers did. I only wish Alexis has aimed a little higher with the knife, lol. William deVry played a great villain as Michael Cambias on AMC, and I like that he’s getting a chance to show that side again as Julian.
I’ve seen a number of people say that they like Nick Stabile as the new Nikolas. I have to respectfully disagree. He’s easy on the eyes, I’ll give him that. But as an actor, he doesn’t do it for me, sorry. Tyler Christopher is the best and the only Nikolas in my book. It’s hard for me to invest in any storyline Nikolas is involved in right now, because I can’t buy into this guy in the role.
I find it interesting that a lot of people were on here raving about Tyler a few months ago, particularly when he won the Best Lead Actor Emmy, he takes a break and it’s like out of sight, out of mind, we want the new guy. Well Tyler, you’re not out of my mind, and I hope we see you back on GH in the very near future! I loved the scenes he had with Maura West before he left, and it’s a shame to think of what could have been between those two. Hopefully the possibility will still be there when he returns.
Natasha Cassadine finally emerges. Finally she is Mikkos is daughter.
I haven’t heard anything about William leaving the show. Any theories out there as how he would stay on GH?
Hey, maybe they’ll write another character for him–seems to be the trend–LOL
Dr. Jerome! Paging Dr. Jerome!
How, indeed, Timmmy, love.
I wont be sad if he leaves. He is sexy and can act but he was never my favorite. I would love to see Ric find his way back to Alexis in her time of need. I know, another swarmy character back in her life but Ric never killed anyone and he has been somewhat less vindictive, lately.
@Timmm.
My heart is singing, Timmmy. I will definitely NOT miss Julian.
Julexis is ruined. For good. Good acting by the couple but why did we have to go all the way here?
Sonny saves the day? GIVE ME A BREAK! Just one! I just want one break from Saint Sonny. I would’ve loved to see Alexis save herself or I don’t know… maybe Jordan or Anna. They really made both, no, all 3 women look weak in this story. I’m so tired of the misogyny on this show.
I don’t care for JaSam and think Sam is more needed in PC with her mom, but this story seems to be more interesting than I originally thought it’d be. I hope I don’t regret saying that.
I seriously need more Laura and Kevin on my screen. They are such a breath of fresh vet air on this show and when I see them I remember I’m actually watching General Hospital. They work so easily together. Please play up the romantic angle of their relationship more. They just tied KILLON at #1 for couples fans want to see most on the SID poll. And I know we’re not gonna get KILLON because of Morgan so I hope they at least give us Kevin and Laura.
“Ruined for good”–over and out!:)
And amen to your statement: “I seriously need more Laura and Kevin on the screen.” They ARE a breath of fresh air (boy, is it stale without them;–LOL!) and yes they ARE GH.
I miss Tyler Christopher–too bad he’s gone considering all the current Cassadine storyline. The new (temp?) Nicholas actor is adequate, but I hope to see Christopher back soon.
I just have to say once again that this cat and mouse game with Julexis these past two weeks has been some of the most riveting compelling drama that GH has put forth in many years. We have had unpredictable twists with gripping moments at every turn and you can cut the tension with a knife in every scene. This has been must see and edge of your seat thrilling TV on every level with Nancy and Will delivering incredibly convincing performances.
GH has been on fire these past two months as a whole. I haven’t been this happy with the show in about four years.

GH and OLTL Alum Patrick J. Gibbons Reveals the Story Behind Writing Trina’s Song on ‘General Hospital’ (Exclusive)

At the conclusion of today’s August 21 episode of General Hospital, Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) sings a lullaby to baby Dez, that went into a montage to close out the episode as her father Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) reports to Pentonville and winds up in his jail cell.
However, in a fun fact, the song entitled, “A Lonely Heart To Give” was actually written by none other than former One Life to Live and General Hospital actor, Patrick J. Gibbons.
Daytime fans first met Gibbons as Sam Manning on One Life to Live. At the time, when he started on the soap, he was just 5-years-old. Gibbons played the part from 2010-2013 on ABC and Prospect Park’s editions of the show. Fast-forward to 2018, Gibbons shows up on General Hospital as Wyatt Hoover, the scout who seemed always be injured, but in the thick of the drama. Patrick had appeared on GH multiple times as Wyatt including: 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023.

FROM HIS GRANDMOTHER’S DEATH CAME THE INSPIRATION FOR HIS SONG
Now in 2026, General Hospital fans are getting to learn about another side of Gibbons’ talent as a songwriter and guitar player after “A Lonely Heart to Give” debuted today! Michael Fairman TV caught up with Patrick, who is now a senior at Penn State entering his final year as a finance major, to get the back-story of how his song wound up on GH!
Gibbons explained he wrote the song in honor of his grandmother who passed away a few years ago with whom he was, very, very close with. “Randomly, my grandmother had a downfall and passed away during the second semester of my sophomore year. I was in my dorm a lot and I was just playing with my guitar. And at the time, I was really into finger-style playing. I wrote the lyric and music to it (with a little help from my guitar teacher Lou), and my mom showed the rough demo to Frank Valentini (EP, General Hospital). He’s like an uncle to me. Frank loved it so much he said, “Finish that up. I want to hear the whole thing, and I want it on the show.”
MAKING MUSIC FOR GENERAL HOSPITAL
Gibbons and his parents took the next steps! “So now, all we needed was a female voice, because I thought that would fit the song well,” Patrick shared. “At the golf club we go to my parents were at a dinner. They liked the singer that was performing and spoke to her about the song, and she says she would like to bring it to her ‘boss’ who ended up being Eric Bazilian of the Hooters fame!” (Bazilian also wrote the smash hit song “One of Us” for Joan Osborne).
Next, “We went in the studio and recorded it and the song came together and it was beautiful. We loved it. They loved it at General Hospital and now they’re putting it the show and they are coming in with a piano, instead of a guitar. Paul Glass, the GH musical director, has been keeping us updated over the last six months of how it was coming along, and when it would air, and how GH put their own arrangement to it. I can’t wait to see and hear what they did with it.”

PATRICK’S ONE LIFE TO LIVE FAMILY
Everyone knows that the One Life to Live extended family share a very tight bond, and Patrick said he does stay in touch with a few of his former One Life to Live co-stars, especially those from the Manning family! “I stayed in touch with Kassie DePaiva (ex-Blair) and sent her little videos here and there. She was like my second mom for five years. We keep in contact with Kristen Alderson (ex-Starr) over X the most, and she can’t believe how big I’ve gotten. Like, none of them can! (laughs). I also loved working with Roger Howarth (ex-Todd) and Trevor St. John (ex-Todd and Victor Jr.), and to me since I was so young, they were just my friends, ‘Roger and Trevor,’ not Todd Manning or Victor Jr.”
It was a trip to California and a visit to Port Charles that ultimately led to Gibbons second soap role of Wyatt Hoover. Patrick explains, “In 2016, Frank Valentini invited us out to Los Angeles to visit the set of General Hospital. I think he heard me say, ‘This is so much fun. I miss being on the set.’ He goes, ‘You should come out. I’ll bring you on the show. We can make you a character.'”
A few years later, Patrick’s dream became a reality! “Then, by the summer of 2018, I was playing Wyatt, the scout, and shared scenes with Wes Ramsey (Peter August), and the best was when I shared a scene with Roger Howarth and Michael Easton (ex-John, OLTL and ex-Silas, Finn et al, GH), it was like chemistry from the old days.”

Photo: PGibbons
IT’S ALL IN THE NUMBERS
As to his future aspirations, it’s a career in the finance game that has piqued Gibbons’ real-life interest. But never say never to a return to acting. Patrick explained, “I’ve always enjoyed numbers. And on top of that, one of the biggest parts of finance is being personable and outgoing.”
He continued, “That’s one of the greatest skills I developed growing up. I really love the markets. I’m super interested. I’m never going to close the door to acting. I’m always open to that because I just love it so much. It’s such a great art.”
Take note! If there are any investment bankers or private equity folks among the GH faithful looking for a young analyst next year, Patrick’s DMs are open. You can find him on X at @PatrickJGibbons.”
So, what did you think of the song sung by Trina on today’s GH that was written by Patrick J. Gibbons? Did you enjoy Patrick’s performances as One Life’s Sam and GH’s Wyatt? Would you like to see him back on GH at some point? Let us know via the comment section.

‘General Hospital’ Alum Chad Duell Admits That He Didn’t Expect the Role of Michael Corinthos to be Recast, and Would Consider Working on Another Soap (Exclusive)

Chad Duell, the Daytime Emmy-winning actor, who stepped away from the pivotal role of Michael Corinthos on General Hospital, opened up about: his previous decision to leave the series after nearly 15 years, where’s he’s at now after time away from the demands of a daytime soap opera, and took a stroll down memory lane with some of Michael’s most-acclaimed storyline during his run, during a livestream chat on August 19 on You Tube’s Michael Fairman Channel.
Viewers last saw Duell on-screen as Michael in January of 2025, and with his successor in the role, Rory Gibson making his debut at the GH Nurses’ Ball in episodes that aired later in May. It was clear that during the conversation, Chad was a bit surprised that the GH brass decided to recast him when he thought he was just taking some much needed time off.
Burn-out of the daily grind of being on a soap was definitely a part of Chad’s decision to take a break. Duell explained “People know when you’re doing something for so long or your character is kind of in the same place for so long or doing the same stuff over and over again, you do get a a little burnt out, you get a little stiff, stale, a little stiff at times. I didn’t want that to be any sort of lasting impression. I have 15 years of a body of work of I’ve done on that show, which is fantastic.”

WHILE CHAD WAS AWAY GH RECAST MICHAEL CORINTHOS WITH RORY GIBSON
Chad shared, his mindset when leaving GH was, “I’m taking some time away, we’ll see what happens.” Then he added, “Obviously, they decided to go in a different direction with Michael when I was gone. I didn’t think they were going to bring somebody back in my place. But you know, it’s the business. You never know what can happen.”
Duell also shared he has not watched a single episode of General Hospital since he left the series, but now feels he reenergized following the loss of his father and stepping away from the GH, “I’m in a place now mentally, where I’m ready to sink my teeth into it again.”

Courtesy/ABC
Even though he is no longer Michael on GH, Chad was very happy with his final storyline where Michael was set on fire when a bomb exploded at Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) penthouse. “It was fun to put him in a dangerous situation, because I was wanting Michael to be in something scary instead of trying to be a hero character or just things happening around him, but to be the center point of tragedy happening to him. (I always saw) Michael as the heart of the (Corinthos) family.”
When Michael was badly burned the show chose not burn his face, which normally a soap does when they are recasting role and switching actors. Chad weighed-in, “They didn’t burn my face because I told Frank Valentini (EP, GH) I’m willing to come back. It was just a little bit of a break. So, I assumed that if they would have burned my face, they could have brought somebody back looking different than me… if that’s what their plan was.”

MEMORABLE MICHAEL STORYLINES
One of Chad’s most memorable performances was the in the storyline of Michael’s rape while he was sentenced to prison in 2010 and the confession of it in 2011. “It was so well-written and I was very nervous,” recalled Chad. “When I get really nervous about something, it ends up being really good when I do it, because it just means I care a lot about it”
“I have to put a lot of effort and work into it, and I really want it to be good. I was working with Dominic Zamprogna (Dante) and Steve Burton (Jason) a lot during those scenes, and Laura Wright (Carly). It was great working with Steve and Dominic, especially, during that storyline.
A NEW SOAP ROLE FOR CHAD?
As to a future soap opera role, Chad is open to the idea and would love to jump back in to a juicy role, “I know people over at The Bold and the Beautiful, and The Young and the Restless. They know that if they’re interested, I would love to come in for a screen test or something, and they can see what I’m doing.”
Meanwhile, Chad has been busy putting out new music under the moniker Duelly and during the interview he explains how he creates his EDM tracks and much more. You can stream his latest single, Static in the Quiet Room on Spotify, Apple Music and You Tube Music.
You can check out the full conversation with Chad Duell below.
Now let us know: what show would you like to see Chad cast on down the line? BTG, DAYS, B&B, Y&R, or a new role on GH? What did you think of his thoughts on the casting switch while he was away in the role of Michael? What was your favorite Michael storyline during Chad’s 15-year run on the ABC soap opera? Let us know via the comment section.
General Hospital
GENERAL HOSPITAL: Ric’s History of Jealousy Where Elizabeth is Concerned Has Come Back Around

On General Hospital, Ric Lansing (Rick Heart) is about to fall back into dangerous old patterns by the foreshadowing during the Wednesday, August 19 episode. After first coming to see his brother, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and telling him of his plan to propose to Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) his longtime love tonight, Sonny has concerned.
Next, Sonny reminds his brother of what has happened in the past, when things have gone south with Elizabeth and wonders if it’s too soon for him to propose to her. What Ric did not tell Sonny is that he has seen the developing closeness between Sonny’s son, Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) and Elizabeth, which is propelling his urgent need to propose.
Meanwhile, Dante ran into Elizabeth at the park during a break from their mutual team softball games. She needs help with a bookcase after the game at her house. Dante wants to put it together for her. Later, Dante arrived at Elizabeth’s house, limping after injuring his knee during the game. Head nurse Liz wanted to check out the injury as much as Dante protested, which required him to take off his pants.

RIC BEGINS TO UNRAVEL
Outside Elizabeth’s widow, Ric arrives with a bouquet of roses and the engagement ring. When he leers through the widow he is shocked to see Elizabeth rubbing Dante’s leg while Dante is in his boxer/shorts. He storm troops into the house, demanding to know what is going on here? Both Elizabeth and Dante look surprised by his reaction. In the pick-up of today’s Thursday, August 20 episode (see GH video teaser below), viewers will learn the upshot for all three characters.
A VENGEFUL PAST
As longtime GH fans know, Ric has done some horrible, vengeful things in regards to Elizabeth starting back in 2003 after she lost her baby after Ric’s ex, Faith Rosco pushed her down a flight of stairs. Ric accused Sonny for the accident and to get revenge, Ric kidnapped Carly (who was married to Sonny at the time), and stashed her in a panic room below the house where he was living with Liz.
On top of that, Ric fed his wife Elizabeth birth control pills to keep her from getting pregnant so that they could raise Carly’s baby together after it was born. Eventually, Elizabeth found Carly in the panic room but ended up having a pulmonary embolism. When she woke up in the hospital, Elizabeth was all confused by what happened, and Ric convinced her that her vision of Carly was just a bad dream. Eventually, Elizabeth learned the horrifying truth and divorced Ric.
Years later, Ric noticed the connection between Elizabeth and “Jake Doe” who eventually turned out to be Drew (Billy Miller) A jealous Ric hired Hayden Barnes to show up and claim to be “Jake’s” wife. Elizabeth stepped aside, and when Ric planned to propose to Elizabeth at the 2015 Nurses Ball, Carly exposed his manipulations, and Elizabeth dumped him yet again. And those are just two examples of the lengths Ric will go to for Elizabeth!
So, we ask you, given the history of Elizabeth and Ric, how do you see this playing out with Dante in the picture? How will Ric derail their growing bond? Share your thoughts via the comment section below.
