GENERAL HOSPITAL: The Connection Between Austin and Cyrus Revealed; Sasha’s Condition Worsens as Gladys is Blackmailed
On Wednesday’s recap of General Hospital, a few significant plotline developments were moved forward. The episode picked up where Austin (Roger Howarth) comes to Pentonville to “examine” Cyrus (Jeff Kober).
However, Austin is really there to deliver the flashdrive to Cyrus and he does in a prescription bottle. At that point, Austin says he’s done everything Cyrus has asked and has finished cleaning up everyone’s messes. He is done and wants out, but does Cyrus have other plans for him?
Next, viewers learn the story twist. Austin talks about Cyrus’ relationship with him, and how it goes back way back to when he was a kid. He thanks Cyrus for making his mother happy, and thanks him for paying for his education, and helping him have the life he has today.

Then, Austin tells Cyrus, that along with Mason, they roped him into this criminal underworld where he doesn’t belong. He says they’ve made him do things he thought he wasn’t capable of doing in his life, including, lying to (the woman he is clearly falling in love) Ava (Maura West) about Nikolas being dead … when he was the one who saved Nikolas’ life.
At Ferncliff, Sasha (Sofia Mattson) is completely going through withdrawals after Dr. Damon Montague (Darin Toonder) or “Monty” the scumbag doctor, keeps drugging her. Gladys (Bonnie Burroughs) stops by and is shocked by her condition. Nurse Janice (Lauren Swickard) explains the situation and says she must have gotten drugs from a staffer, because you know how addicts are? This is so frustrating to watch!

Courtesy.ABC
When “Monty” shows up in Sasha’s room, Gladys begs him to stop torturing Sasha. He says he will if she gives him $50,000. When Gladys explains her plight and that she owes Selina (Lydia Look), he comes back with that Sasha isn’t being discharged until he gets paid. Later, Gladys talks with Selina at the Metro Court pool and she learns Selina shutting down the game, and that she needs her to clear up the books and Gladys needs to pay her back in full. This leaves Gladys more desperate and Sasha continuing to be drugged out of her mind.
So, what do you think of the revelations of the connection between Cyrus and Austin, and Austin’s part in the Nikolas back-story? Are you over watching how Sasha is being drugged? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
Could Cyrus be Austin’s father was my thought seeing RH and JK in the prison scenes. The substitute writers changed things that the original writers would have done. Is Cyrus Mason’s boss?
There was sone connection.
I thought the same. Is Austin between a rock and a hard place? And, is Mason ( weird name) Martin’s son?
How about Sasha’s psycho doctor as Pikeman? No?
Yeah right… that guy’s too incompetent to do anything other than drug poor helpless mortals. No way he’s smart enough to run a mercenary weapons trafficking group.
The mystery remains who Mason met with outside the hospital.
Was Charity really that miserable with Jimmy Lee or was Austin’s DNA-origin story just a lie? Would the writers make Austin Roger’s 2nd character that was thought to be a Q, but actually be related to another PC resident?
There’s been a fair amount of retconning in this drawn-out storyline. Just grateful the fill-in writers are picking up the pace.
Gladys’ conscious finally returned. Looks like there’s two ways out – murder or Cousin Sonny and exile to Bridgeport.
I think Mason may have met Marty. Who might be his father. Definitely was his stepfather at least. It would be a total reversal of character if Marty was suddenly involved in the crimes of the “Pawtuck Mafia”, but maybe Mason was just asking him for some “legal advice”.
Wouldn’t Marty’s Pawtucket connection come up in Felicia’s investigation of him? Then again, she’s never been the sharpest PI…
She ok. Not as good as sam
Hey—that’s what I said. Mason could be Martin’s son. Ergo, the “cousins” connection. Who is the boss? Cyrus or Marty? Do they also answer to Pikeman? Maybe it’s Marty’s last wife? She’s the real, very rich boss!!??!!
Speaking of Martin.where is he when hell is breaking out with Lucy and her cohorts at Deception and Walt helping Tracy get it away from them? He’s been very noticeably and conveniently missing these days.
For months, FrAustin & Mason talked about their boss using female pronouns (she/her) and said that it was a “family” crime business.
As far as I know, Cyrus never identified as female, even when he had long hair and a ponytail. So what happened to their actual boss?
I still say Faith Roscoe is the yet unseen actual boss of the “Pawtuck mafia” . FrAustin’s mother was named Charity Gatlin. We know that Mason is his cousin, and if the Gatlin grandparents would name one of their daughters “Charity”, odds are pretty good that they would have another daughter named “Faith”.
So Faith Roscoe is Mason’s mother and FrAustin’s aunt. How exactly does Cyrus fit in here? Well… remember all the recent mystery about Marty’s ex-wives and how the last one was still paying him “alimony”? What if that “alimony” is really more like hush money to keep Marty quiet about his ex wife’s identity, the fact that she escaped from Hell (sorry about that) and her involvement in the “Pawtuck mafia”, criminal collaborations with her former brother in law Cyrus, and whatever else she might be involved in. Like maybe working with her old friend Lorenzo Alcazar and his “Pikeman” group??
The one thing that IS explained by Cyrus’s involvement with the “Pawtuck Mafia” is why they would bother keeping Nikolas on life support. Nikolas means nothing to Faith Roscoe, but to Cyrus, he’s family. And always a card he could play later if he wants to get his sister :Laura’s attention.
All I know is this is going to be one hell of a reveal when it all comes out, can’t wait!
Helena Casedine ?
Definitely not Helena! She’s right here in Hell where she belongs!
Helena also crossed my mind—or a Helena-mystery-offspring. Satan is always “en pointe”, albeit some of the people he mentions have no meaning for me. Started watching in 2014—convalescing from a C-section.
The actress, Constance Towers, who plays Helena, is in her 90s. With the exception of maybe another cameo or two the era of Helena is done. Loved her; great villainous.
Because I believe the boss is not faith Rosco it Olivia Jerome that would be the only reason he be keep alive to get ava to join her crazy sister. Or it another cassidine
Totally over Sasha get a raw deal all the time. Gladys needs to go. Why is Cyrus still on the show, ? Yuck
Got to have villains to make the show interesting. Who would watch if everything was good all the time.?
A lot of boring people. That’s why the good stuff doesn’t interest them. Bet they never get their hands dirty either or played in the mud as a kid.
Right, Violet—This Pikeman thing is driving me crazy by trying to figure out who it could be. Helena or a Helena-relative—Ms Wu, Cyrus, the psycho doc.—-how about Tracy? LOL
Lorenzo Alcazar is Pikeman.
Pikeman is doing exactly the same things Alcazar always did. Smuggling weapons and collaborating in “black ops” with rogue intelligence agencies.
Of course Alcazar is supposed to be “dead” (though he was never actually here in Hell) so he had to invent a corporate name to hide behind.
This also provides a logical reason for Blair to return, since she was last seen in 2012 beginning an investigation as to whether Alcazar and Ted King’s OLTL character (Tomas or whatever his name was) were in fact, the same person. That story was left hanging in mid air due to the Prospect Park legal clusterphuck, and it was never spoken of since then.
But now with Alcazar being the only logical person to be behind “Pikeman”, it makes sense to finally answer the question of his identity.
Well, it hit the fan today. Good thing Carly warned Dex but they got Sonny. Should be very interesting when Diane gets involved
I guess we know who the ” she” is now, the Warden? Very boring to me, hoped it would be someone of interest to say the least.
Celia, I think Ms. WU will ultimately kill Gladys, thus killing two birds with one stone. I also think Tracy is working with Valentin to steal Deception, just a feeling. I really don’t like Brook Lyns reason for getting Tracy the info she wanted.
No. We get the peaks and valleys of the basic story arc. What folks are finding impalpable is that Sasha has been dwelling in the dark valley for over 2 years now. This is what is called,” misery porn,” and it’s not remotely entertaining. It’s also reflective of really horrible script writing.
I totally agree
He a major player in this story he a dam good actor
I agree 1000000%!! Jeff Over is great!
Love Cyrus—a combination of good and evil—yet we can never truly “get” him. It creates suspense and mystery, which are the two ingredients to make any show go ‘round.
Hate Austin’s involvement in this storyline. Glad they made it so it’s apparent he had no choice in these matters. However, if Cyrus is the “Kingpin” in this whole mess, that would be disappointing. As was pointed out by many, Mason and Austin referred to their boss as “She”. So, is Cyrus just a middleman in prison or have the writers disregarded everything that’s been set up to date to make him the be-all-and-end-all?
Was there another villain on GH that was female and “found God” at some point? Could she be the real mastermind? Hope it’s someone that is worthy of all this fear Mason and Austin profess for her. Cyrus just seems to have been “de-fanged”.
Also wonder how there can be another mafia family operating so close to PC? It’s been stated MANY times that Sonny controls a huge swath of the NY mafia and Selina Wu is only allowed a toe hold in his territory. I highly doubt he’d allow or not know about another “family” operating so close to Port Charles. What gives?
Whatever the outcome, I just hope Austin can be redeemed from this mess.
As for Sasha and Dr. M and Gladys…I hope Sasha turns the tables on him and sticks him with his own needle, escapes and then lets Gladys have it both barrels. The Perils of Pauline are the only thing I can think to compare this to. How can anyone continue to approve this storyline? It’s time to bring it to a close and make Dr. M and Gladys pay. Love Bonnie, but the only way I can see her having a tiny bit of redemption is to confess to Sonny or (God forbid) Cody and working with them to help Sasha.
I believe it is Olivia Jerome myself it would be perfect for it to be avas sister who is masons boss that kills two birds with one stone and Sirius being the middle and Olivia getting even with her sister
I said the same thing I believe it Olivia an she was in love with Anna husband Duke lavery that revenge on Anna too!!! I have said that sence this story started.. an Olivia is sicko enough to kill Mason Austin an whoever else gets in her way,!!!! She been trying to get ava back on the Jerome mob
i feel bad for Sasha and hope all of them get caught
I think Cyrus is Austin’s father. The Nicholas storyline is very tiresome . Bring him back before his son falls for Esme. I love GH, however the storylines seems to drag out way too long. Also can Nina be any nosier! She knew about Sonny’s world and now she wants to know everything. I wouldn’t trust her across the stage! Carly and Drew have chemistry, however they are not for each other. GH don’t let Sonny go off the canvass! He is Gh!!
Yes he is an so is Carly!!!! But with out MB an Jason there really ain’t no GH
Laura Wright’s Carly has never had any experience with anyone. Certainly not with Drew.
Exactly! Nina is so damn nosey. I can’t wait until she’s alone with no friends and certainly no family. Willow will never forgive her for hurting Drew and Carly. He risked his life to save hers. Nina didn’t give a rat’s ass so long as Carly got hurt. She wanted her to do jail time away from her family. Especially away from Willow. Eventually I hopeSonny and Carly reunite. She knows more about Sonny’s business and she’s not afraid of getting involved.
I think it’s Ava’s older sister, remember she tried to kill Anna,
I already said this when the story started
Maybe it Anna’s sister. No body recovered!!
I’ve been done with the way Sasha is being drugged can’t wait for Gladys and Dr. Montague to be exposed.
I hope someone turns the needle on both of them.
I’m wondering the same thing. Is that his dad?? Or is he Mason dad? An they used the jimmy lee holt as a cover story.. it makes u wonder if Cyrus is pikeman or working for pikeman leader… or if he is Austin an Mason father lol how funny what that be
It’s Tracy. She is the ‘she’ referenced ‘boss’.
We could only hope but but she’s up to her neck and big nose trying to get Deception, even to blackmailing her own granddaughter.
I’m so over watching Gladys get away with basically being a drug pusher, it’s just getting out of hand! Give poor Sasha a break and leave her alone, let Sonny find out what Gladys has been doing to Sasha , he’ll take care of it once and for all! Give him a decent story line, that’s got nothing to do with the lying Nina! Sonny was happy with Carly and it got messed up. I totally believe that if Jason Morgan was still on the show, that things would be different for everyone!!!
I agree
Gladys need to be lockup. I want Cody or Sam stop her, but I want Sonny to put her in her place. I’m chopping at the bits for Sonny to destroy Gladys. Austin is a whimp and needs to grow a pair.
I’m so tired of Gladys and the Sasha storyline!
Don’t worry her end is near. Gladys will be murdered by that Quack doctor. He’ll probably give her an overdose of Sasha’s drugs. She will probably threaten to expose him. Not a good idea Gladys! Ms Wu want harm her because she’s Sonny’s family. Of course poor Cody will be framed and convicted. Sam will have to use her detective skills to get him out. Dante will have no choice but to tell Mac Scorpio Cody is his son.
Your theory is pretty good. I’d also like to see someone give the rotten Dr. a big injection full of his own drugs right where it”l work the best.
Some plausible and interesting plotline possibilities.
I can tell you exactly how this plays out…..
Gladys will die, Cody will be blamed. He will go on the run, with or without Sasha. Eventually the cops will catch up with hiim. Mac will be leading the pack and for whatever reason, feel like he has to shoot Cody.
Which will cause Dante to ironically say the same line his mama said back in 2010….
“You just shot your own son”!!
Sounds plausible but I really hope it doesn’t end that way. I think Ms. WU will kill Gladys, killing two birds with one stone. Maybe Sasha will have recovered enough to help Cody and I really want Mac to find out Cody’s his son without shooting him.
AMEN
Over Sasha drama, amnesia in Ned is a repeat of esma.
Mason plays Austin’s cousin. He first portrayed as Nathaniel Grey. That’s Martin’s last name. Cyrus and Martin have the same mother and father. So Cyrus is probably using his mob name Renault. I still think Olivia Jerome is involved. Maybe Cyrus is married to her. I remember hearing Mason always saying she wants to see you. Maybe Cyrus married Austin’s mother and he became Austin’s step-dad. Mason is his cousin because his mother is his aunt. I know it’s confusing. Cyrus could be Austin’s father. Austin probably thought he was an uncle.
Could the “she” mentioned actually be Austin’s mother and Mason’s mother or father related by marriage, making them cousins. Austin kept referring to his father being Holt, where does he fit in to this mess?
Austin’s father was Jimmy Lee Holt who was an illegitmate son of Edward Quartermaine. When Austin first arrived in Port Charles, he was asking for a piece of the Q money, so they did a DNA test to make sure he was who he claimed to be, and the results proved he was Jimmy Lee’s kid.
Obviously DNA results at GH have been faked before, but given the amount of influence the Quartermaines have at the hospital (Monica was probably Chief of Staff at the time) and with big money on the line, you can bet your soul they kept a close watch on that particular DNA test.
As I have said here before, I believe that Austin’s mother, whose name was “Charity” had a sister named “Faith”… as in Faith Roscoe. Where Cyrus would fit in here is that Faith was probably Martin’s infamous 3rd wife who is paying him alimony payments – which are more likely “hush money” to keep him quiet about her escape from Hell (sorry about that) and all of the criminal activities she’s been involved in ever since, including some with her brother in law Cyrus, apparently. So Faith would be the female family member that Austin & Mason have been referring to as their “boss” all this time.
FYI, Nathaniel Grey is Mason’s real name. Martin’s stage name is Grey, has nothing to do with Mason.
Yes sasha has been through enough already.this could be a way for nina to redeem herself by saving the girl she truly loves like a daughter she can stand up to Gladys and certainly go to sonny because killing Gladys won’t necessarily get sasha away from that doctor
It certainly could be Olivia Jerome but with all the Pikeman stuff and the WSB tied t[ Anna, Sunny, Valentine and others, could it be Alex, Anna’s sister?
I did wonder about Tracy but I can’t see them making her that bad! However, if it impacted something about Luke or the Ice Princess? Just can’t remotely see a connection with Deception.
Also wonder a little bit about Holly since she was desperate for money last time we saw her. They retrospectively made her a WSB agent (by storyline history ) in the last year and was involved with Victor Cassadine albeit by force. She was despicable during the 2006 virus storyline. I haven’t totally ruled out Selina Wu as she could definitely be trying to get Sonny to go down and out of her way! I guess my top contenders are Olivia, Alex, or Selina.
Of course, isn’t it time for another Cassadine, Faison , or Quartermain to show up?
I keep hoping Cyrus really has changed.
Oh, yeah and Marty also had some connection with Alex!
I hope “Cyrus” has genuinely changed too.
You people are as crazy as you are making Sasha to be. You need to be put in her place.
This is ridiculous let Sasha go home someone needs to get that crooked doctor like Sonny
It is time for Gladys to come clean before they kill that girl and I pray that she can punish just like Sasha did that greedy heifer needs to be punished.
I am tired of Sasha being tortured! She needs to be happy again!
Love to see this story line to move on let Nicolas come back and get Sasha out of Ferncliff.
Is it possible that Nicholas is the “Pikeman ” connection?
I hope that Cyrus is Austin’s real dad. Jeff and Roger were so good together this week. Both handsome, talented Emmy-winners! I want to see more scenes of them together.
Yes they draw story lines out to long
Cyrus May have a new look but he’s still a crook, lyre and thief, drug lord, leader of his own mob. Very BAD, BAD, BAD MAN!!!
How many more trials are they going to put Sasha through? She was OD’d by Cyrus, lost her child, hit Harmony while driving away from an annoying reporter, lost her husband, had a nervous breakdown, was put under a conservatorship and drugged BY A DOCTOR appointed by the court! She must be GH’s Job (of the Bible)!! Anyone else would have killed themselves by now. Would be really nice to see Sasha have a little bit of good fortune for a change. Come on!! Give her (and us fans!) a break!
I can promise you that there were no bets between myself and my Former Employer concerning Sasha!
Learned my lesson on that with the whole “Job” thing…. the Old Man Upstairs will do anything to win a bet, and then hold a grudge for thousands of years after that. Who needs more of that?
Yes, I’m tired of them dragging out the Sasha situation.
I think that Cyrus is Austin real father for sure. There is definitely more to the story between Cyrus and Austin, not to mention Cyrus turning out to be the big boss that Austin & Mason work for!
Is Cyrus starting an uprising? Is this what his ‘religious’ classes with his inmates all about?? He is schooling them—getting them all riled up and then—BOOM!!
Ok—well now—Cyrus orchestrated Sonny’s arrest. Is the warden a good guy? I still think she’s part of this entire plot. Revenge? How and where does Nikolas fit into this imbroglio? I don’t know if I can withstand looking at this guy—turns be completely off and flat!!

‘General Hospital’s’ Dominic Zamprogna Shares He Was ‘Happy to Hear’ of The Triangle Storyline Developing Between Dante/Elizabeth/Ric

General Hospital’s Dominic Zamprogna (Dante Falconeri) opened up about the burgeoning love triangle forming between his Port Charles alter-go, Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) and Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) after recently aired scenes, plus his hopes for the future of a Dante and Liz pairing, during his appearance on the Sunday, April 23 edition of the That’s Awesome podcast with Steve Burton (Jason Morgan) and Bradford Anderson (Spinelli).
On last week’s episodes of GH, Ric has made the decision that he wanted to propose to his ex-wife, only when he showed up at Elizabeth’s front door, he misread the scenario he walked in with Liz tending to Dante’s injured leg from the softball game. From there, the legal eagle’s jealous streak is reemerging which may cause him to act out and do something unforgivable, or will he take the high road? Stay tuned.
Speaking with Steve Burton and Bradford Anderson about where Elizabeth stands in the annals of the long-running soap, Zamprogna said, “She’s up there with Steve and Maurice (Maurice Benard) as one of the most legacy-filled people on the show.”

HOW DANTE AND ELIZABETH CAME ABOUT
Dominic jokes it’s a far cry for where Dante and Elizabeth previously, recalling, “We had some scenes together years ago and we were both laughing. Becky’s like, ‘Well, I guess we’re not going be paired up anytime soon.’ I remember we laughed immediately after they yelled ‘cut,”‘and said to each other, ‘Well, so much for that!'”
Fast-forward to early 2025 and as Zamprogna remembered it, “Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) came up to me at the General Hospital Christmas party, and I think it was a year and a half ago and she said, ‘We’re going to have you in scenes with Elizabeth,’ My internal monologue is going, ‘I’m not with Lulu (Alexa Havins) anymore and Sam’s (Kelly Monaco) gone, so maybe they want to see if this works.’ I didn’t want to get scenes with Becky and try to find the chemistry. I just wanted to play whatever honestly was written and came across for both of us and hope it was what people liked, and I don’t know if it is … or not.”
Knowing how beloved Elizabeth is to the GH faithfuls, Zamprogna added, “She got a big fan base with Ric … and a big fan base with with Jason … and you know, you’re going to piss somebody off. But, didn’t Ric drug Elizabeth and put Carly in a panic room?”

Photo: ABC
DANTE AND ELIZABETH PAIRING COULD STIR UP STORY FOR OTHERS IN PORT CHARLES
In closing, Dominic felt that the wide-reaching tentacles of a Dante and Elizabeth relationship is something he is 100% down for. “The triangle thing; I was happy to hear it was with Ric and her, because I felt it’s important to have her the top of it as opposed to Dante, Lulu and Elizabeth.”
Zamprogna added, “When you get into relationships on a soap, things seem to fizzle out a little bit, The buildup is what’s the fun part, and the getting to know each other, and the people who are affected by this coming together. When with this case it’s going to affect: Ric, Sonny, Lulu. There’s so much more story here. To me, it’s going to be a fun story to play.”
You can check out Dominic’s visit to That’s Awesome with Steve and Bradford below.
Now weigh-in: Are you rooting for Dante and Liz, or Dante and Ric at this juncture of the story, or neither guy for Elizabeth? Let us know your thoughts and picks via the comment section.

GH and OLTL Alum Patrick J. Gibbons Reveals the Story Behind Writing Trina’s Song on ‘General Hospital’ (Exclusive)

At the conclusion of today’s August 21 episode of General Hospital, Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) sings a lullaby to baby Dez, that went into a montage to close out the episode as her father Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) reports to Pentonville and winds up in his jail cell.
However, in a fun fact, the song entitled, “A Lonely Heart To Give” was actually written by none other than former One Life to Live and General Hospital actor, Patrick J. Gibbons.
Daytime fans first met Gibbons as Sam Manning on One Life to Live. At the time, when he started on the soap, he was just 5-years-old. Gibbons played the part from 2010-2013 on ABC and Prospect Park’s editions of the show. Fast-forward to 2018, Gibbons shows up on General Hospital as Wyatt Hoover, the scout who seemed always be injured, but in the thick of the drama. Patrick had appeared on GH multiple times as Wyatt including: 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023.

FROM HIS GRANDMOTHER’S DEATH CAME THE INSPIRATION FOR HIS SONG
Now in 2026, General Hospital fans are getting to learn about another side of Gibbons’ talent as a songwriter and guitar player after “A Lonely Heart to Give” debuted today! Michael Fairman TV caught up with Patrick, who is now a senior at Penn State entering his final year as a finance major, to get the back-story of how his song wound up on GH!
Gibbons explained he wrote the song in honor of his grandmother who passed away a few years ago with whom he was, very, very close with. “Randomly, my grandmother had a downfall and passed away during the second semester of my sophomore year. I was in my dorm a lot and I was just playing with my guitar. And at the time, I was really into finger-style playing. I wrote the lyric and music to it (with a little help from my guitar teacher Lou), and my mom showed the rough demo to Frank Valentini (EP, General Hospital). He’s like an uncle to me. Frank loved it so much he said, “Finish that up. I want to hear the whole thing, and I want it on the show.”
MAKING MUSIC FOR GENERAL HOSPITAL
Gibbons and his parents took the next steps! “So now, all we needed was a female voice, because I thought that would fit the song well,” Patrick shared. “At the golf club we go to my parents were at a dinner. They liked the singer that was performing and spoke to her about the song, and she says she would like to bring it to her ‘boss’ who ended up being Eric Bazilian of the Hooters fame!” (Bazilian also wrote the smash hit song “One of Us” for Joan Osborne).
Next, “We went in the studio and recorded it and the song came together and it was beautiful. We loved it. They loved it at General Hospital and now they’re putting it the show and they are coming in with a piano, instead of a guitar. Paul Glass, the GH musical director, has been keeping us updated over the last six months of how it was coming along, and when it would air, and how GH put their own arrangement to it. I can’t wait to see and hear what they did with it.”

PATRICK’S ONE LIFE TO LIVE FAMILY
Everyone knows that the One Life to Live extended family share a very tight bond, and Patrick said he does stay in touch with a few of his former One Life to Live co-stars, especially those from the Manning family! “I stayed in touch with Kassie DePaiva (ex-Blair) and sent her little videos here and there. She was like my second mom for five years. We keep in contact with Kristen Alderson (ex-Starr) over X the most, and she can’t believe how big I’ve gotten. Like, none of them can! (laughs). I also loved working with Roger Howarth (ex-Todd) and Trevor St. John (ex-Todd and Victor Jr.), and to me since I was so young, they were just my friends, ‘Roger and Trevor,’ not Todd Manning or Victor Jr.”
It was a trip to California and a visit to Port Charles that ultimately led to Gibbons second soap role of Wyatt Hoover. Patrick explains, “In 2016, Frank Valentini invited us out to Los Angeles to visit the set of General Hospital. I think he heard me say, ‘This is so much fun. I miss being on the set.’ He goes, ‘You should come out. I’ll bring you on the show. We can make you a character.'”
A few years later, Patrick’s dream became a reality! “Then, by the summer of 2018, I was playing Wyatt, the scout, and shared scenes with Wes Ramsey (Peter August), and the best was when I shared a scene with Roger Howarth and Michael Easton (ex-John, OLTL and ex-Silas, Finn et al, GH), it was like chemistry from the old days.”

IT’S ALL IN THE NUMBERS
As to his future aspirations, it’s a career in the finance game that has piqued Gibbons’ real-life interest. But never say never to a return to acting. Patrick explained, “I’ve always enjoyed numbers. And on top of that, one of the biggest parts of finance is being personable and outgoing.”
He continued, “That’s one of the greatest skills I developed growing up. I really love the markets. I’m super interested. I’m never going to close the door to acting. I’m always open to that because I just love it so much. It’s such a great art.”
Take note! If there are any investment bankers or private equity folks among the GH faithful looking for a young analyst next year, Patrick’s DMs are open. You can find him on X at @PatrickJGibbons.”
So, what did you think of the song sung by Trina on today’s GH that was written by Patrick J. Gibbons? Did you enjoy Patrick’s performances as One Life’s Sam and GH’s Wyatt? Would you like to see him back on GH at some point? Let us know via the comment section.

‘General Hospital’ Alum Chad Duell Admits That He Didn’t Expect the Role of Michael Corinthos to be Recast, and Would Consider Working on Another Soap (Exclusive)

Chad Duell, the Daytime Emmy-winning actor, who stepped away from the pivotal role of Michael Corinthos on General Hospital, opened up about: his previous decision to leave the series after nearly 15 years, where’s he’s at now after time away from the demands of a daytime soap opera, and took a stroll down memory lane with some of Michael’s most-acclaimed storyline during his run, during a livestream chat on August 19 on You Tube’s Michael Fairman Channel.
Viewers last saw Duell on-screen as Michael in January of 2025, and with his successor in the role, Rory Gibson making his debut at the GH Nurses’ Ball in episodes that aired later in May. It was clear that during the conversation, Chad was a bit surprised that the GH brass decided to recast him when he thought he was just taking some much needed time off.
Burn-out of the daily grind of being on a soap was definitely a part of Chad’s decision to take a break. Duell explained “People know when you’re doing something for so long or your character is kind of in the same place for so long or doing the same stuff over and over again, you do get a a little burnt out, you get a little stiff, stale, a little stiff at times. I didn’t want that to be any sort of lasting impression. I have 15 years of a body of work of I’ve done on that show, which is fantastic.”

WHILE CHAD WAS AWAY GH RECAST MICHAEL CORINTHOS WITH RORY GIBSON
Chad shared, his mindset when leaving GH was, “I’m taking some time away, we’ll see what happens.” Then he added, “Obviously, they decided to go in a different direction with Michael when I was gone. I didn’t think they were going to bring somebody back in my place. But you know, it’s the business. You never know what can happen.”
Duell also shared he has not watched a single episode of General Hospital since he left the series, but now feels he reenergized following the loss of his father and stepping away from the GH, “I’m in a place now mentally, where I’m ready to sink my teeth into it again.”

Courtesy/ABC
Even though he is no longer Michael on GH, Chad was very happy with his final storyline where Michael was set on fire when a bomb exploded at Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) penthouse. “It was fun to put him in a dangerous situation, because I was wanting Michael to be in something scary instead of trying to be a hero character or just things happening around him, but to be the center point of tragedy happening to him. (I always saw) Michael as the heart of the (Corinthos) family.”
When Michael was badly burned the show chose not burn his face, which normally a soap does when they are recasting role and switching actors. Chad weighed-in, “They didn’t burn my face because I told Frank Valentini (EP, GH) I’m willing to come back. It was just a little bit of a break. So, I assumed that if they would have burned my face, they could have brought somebody back looking different than me… if that’s what their plan was.”

One of Chad’s most memorable performances was the in the storyline of Michael’s rape while he was sentenced to prison in 2010 and the confession of it in 2011. “It was so well-written and I was very nervous,” recalled Chad. “When I get really nervous about something, it ends up being really good when I do it, because it just means I care a lot about it”
“I have to put a lot of effort and work into it, and I really want it to be good. I was working with Dominic Zamprogna (Dante) and Steve Burton (Jason) a lot during those scenes, and Laura Wright (Carly). It was great working with Steve and Dominic, especially, during that storyline.
A NEW SOAP ROLE FOR CHAD?
As to a future soap opera role, Chad is open to the idea and would love to jump back in to a juicy role, “I know people over at The Bold and the Beautiful, and The Young and the Restless. They know that if they’re interested, I would love to come in for a screen test or something, and they can see what I’m doing.”
Meanwhile, Chad has been busy putting out new music under the moniker Duelly and during the interview he explains how he creates his EDM tracks and much more. You can stream his latest single, Static in the Quiet Room on Spotify, Apple Music and You Tube Music.
