On Friday’s special episode of The Talk, the afternoon series hosted the Soap Hub Awards for the first time as voted on by the fans.

During the Best Actor section, where General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason) was the winner from General Hospital and John McCook (Eric) was the winner from The Bold and the Beautiful, co-host Sheryl Underwood asked Steve about the passing of Stuart Damon (Ex- Alan Quartermaine), who played his on-screen father.

Burton became very emotional and with tears in his eyes expressed:  “Stuart was just our rock, like for everybody in the studio. And you can always judge a man by his actions, and he was kind to everybody, all the time. He made sacrifices for us, and his family, and I want people to know that not only was he an amazing actor, he was just an amazing man and an amazing father that I look up to.”

Watch the moment below featuring John McCook, Steve Burton, and the hosts of The Talk.

Then, let us know what you thought of Steve’s remembrances of the one and only Stuart Damon, via the comment section.

He will always be my Prince Charming. RIP, my prince…X

I loved & miss Stuart he is my Prince Charming. Hated when he left GH

Steve Burton my heart is so broken I don’t want you to leave general hospital God bless be safe come back anytime

I think Steve & Stuart actually had a psuedo father/son relationship. Always thought it was fairly lame that Jason never got to resolve his estranged relationship with Alan before Alan died as a result of Jerry Jack’s terrorist takeover of the Metro Court.

I love Jason Quartermaine always will. He is the love of my life. I wish that he was a real person. I hate that he will be leaving GH once again. But he will always be in my heart when I watch the show. Love you Steve Burton.

Yes. I felt there was no closure.

I will certainly miss both Jason and Jax two very talented actors. I feel that the internet has damaged many people’s lives.

Jason (Steve Burton) is missed already on general hospital. Vaccines should be a matter of personal choice. Stuart Daman played Alan years ago! I’ve watched since GH started.

They could still bring Jason back. After all it is a soap!

Oh, you are so right!

He died in real life…

GH did not do right by Stuart Damon. It was a big mistake killing Dr. Q off. Nice tribute to him by SB

I agree, but wondered if Stuart had some health issues.

Yes. Kidney problems which eventually killed him on June 29th of this year. RIP Stuart Damon

Stuart Damon passed away in REAL LIFE on June 29th 2021. He wasn’t just killed off the show..

Steve Burton has and will always be my favorite soap actor! He seem down to earth, kind and, caring! His word about his co workers passing was what I would expect from Steve sorry he is leaving GH!

There’s no confirmation he’s gone for good. Latest rumors are he’ll be back in a few months. “Sources” say he contracted Covid shortly after his first shot. There’s apparently a waiting time to resume vaccination after getting the virus.

If all this is true, I hand it to Burton, Frank and ABC to not responding to internet chatter and making for a true November sweeps moment.

In the words of Emily Littella – “never mind”

Please leave the man alone the constant gossip it is absolutely none of anybody’s business if he has a vaccine you know nothing of his medical history!!! And it is none of you business

Sad that Steve Burton won’t get his vaccine

Very sad that someone w 30 plus years w a show won’t abide by abc Disney s vaccine mandate! If he actually cares about the fans and his cast mates he’d have gotten vaccinated … sad

Ok..tired of repeating myself.. For everyone who thinks that Alan Quartermaine was killed off the show for no reason, listen up…THE MAN DIED IN REAL LIFE ON JUNE 29TH 2021.
Glad he was killed off. No one could replace Stuart Damon in that role…RIP STUART

This week on all-new episodes of General Hospital, new and old motivations come into play with dangerous consequences. According to the just released GH video spoilers video for the week of August 3-7, a bailiff calls out, “All rise!”

Now it’s Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson) vs. Curtis (Donnell Turner), as the surgeon is suing the owner of the Savoy for assault that ruined is ability to operate. At the end of the day, which of these men has enough evidence against the other? Portia (Brook Kerr) is by Isaiah’s side, while Jordan (Tanisha Harper) is with Curtis.

Next, Lucy (Lynn Herring) has a plan to get the controlling shares of Deception away from Michael (Rory Gibson). She wants her daughter, Serena (Kelly Kruger) to seduce Michael. Later, there is a small baggie containing three blue pills. Nina (Cynthia Watros) ask Willow (Katelyn MacMullen), “What did you do?” We also see Michael asking the same thing of Jacinda (Paige Herschell). Leading into this week, viewers know that Willow doesn’t want the former escort anywhere near her children, Amelia and Wiley. Is this how she stops her, or is Jacinda up to old tricks and wants to frame Willow? Remember when Jacindsa drugged Drew (Cameron Mathison)? Stay tuned.

Finally, in the pick-up from last Friday’s cliffhanger, an emotional Jason (Steve Burton) continues to tell Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he cannot work for him anymore. Sonny ask, “So that’s it? You’re Out?” We fade to black.

Vincent Pastore, best known for his memorable role as Salvatore “Big Pussy” Bonpensiero on HBO’s The Sopranos has passed away.

The veteran actor was found dead on August 1st in his home in the Bronx, New York. Pastore was 80-years-old. The cause of death is yet to be determined.

As well as his role on The Sopranos, many soap fans will recall he played multiple smaller roles on the beloved One Life to Live from 1995 and 2004. However, in 2008, he landed the short-term role as Maximus Giambetti on General Hospital.

PASTORE WANTED TO BE ON GENERAL HOSPITAL

Maximus was the mobster father of Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) bodyguards: Max (Derk Cheetwood) and Milo (Drew Cheetwood)

According to Soap Opera Digest, Pastore told Soaps In Depth back in 2009, after appearing in a SOAPnet promotional campaign as a celebrity fan of General Hospital: “‘I’d love to be on the show. So they called up GH’s casting director (Mark Teschner) and Bobby (Robert Guza Jr. ex-head writer, GH) and they wrote me in!”

Pastore was a huge General Hospital fan from way back, who at one point told producers that he would watch the ABC soap opera while working in bars and nightclubs in the 70s and 80s.

Throughout his decades long career, Pastore appeared in films including: Goodfellas, Carlito’s Way and Men of Respect, The Jerky Boys: The Movie and the 1996 HBO TV movie Gotti.

In TV, besides The Sopranos, Pastore’s credits included: Law & Order, The Practice, Son of the Beach, Queens Supreme, Hawaii Five-0, Wu-Tang: An American Saga, plus the miniseries The Last Don II. Most recently, Vincent was a series regular on Gravesend and guest starred on Yellowjackets.

Pastore is survived by his daughter, Renee, son-in-law and granddaughter.
