Two reports have surfaced this morning on the status of One Life’s evil Mitch Laurence, Roscoe Born.  First in today’s Soapgeist column from TV Guide Canada’s Nelson Branco.  Soapgeist reports that insiders say that Born was fired, and Soap Opera Digest is reporting that Born only returned only for a limited run and there is plenty more story for Mitch in the new year.  An ABC spokesperson told On-Air On-Soaps that  “Born is a heavy part of February sweeps and is involved in major story that will affect the lives of  many of the citizens of Llanview coming up in the New Year.”

I would like to see Roscoe Born return to Days Of Our Lives as Trent Robbins. Melanie would be shocked to see her evil father was still alive.

Ok, so Roscoe Born just returned to “One Life to Live” in November of 2009! I read the soap magazine and internet board spoilers for the latest scoop on the show! It said nothing of the sort of him leaving “One Life to Live” anytime soon! They said that if anything, he would be around for the February Sweeps Period so the storyline could help boost up the ratings, and I truly hope that the end is not near! Roscoe is a terrific actor, and yet no one wants to sign him to a long term contract! No one else… Read more »

I would love to see Roscoe back on Days too. I was very upset when they let him go after only having him there for a couple or three months. With Carly now being revealed as Melanie’s mother, it would be a perfect time to resurrect Trent and have them face off with each other plus it would certainly open up an interesting S/L for Mel as she thinks she’s beginning a new life with Philip I hate the way Days AND OLTL use Roscoe. They use him to boost their sagging ratings and then dump him after he brings… Read more »

I would like to see Roscoe Born carry on with One Life To Live as he brings a breath of fresh of air into the show. He plays the character very richly and brings in great humor and wit and seems to have great chemistry with whomever he is paired with. This doesn’t happen very often with most actors. I hope the producers of One Life To Live realise what a valuable asset Roscoe Born is to the show and signs him for beyond summer. If not, I’ll love to see him in prime time tv and try his luck… Read more »

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Sonny Remembers Carly Just as She Is Marrying Jason

After nine months of being “Mike”, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) had a major breakthrough as his memory is all coming back to him now (as the Celine Dion song says), and in the process the Tan-O has burned to the ground, signaling the the probable end to the Nixon Falls arc of the story.

As the story picked-up on Thursday, Nina’s (Cynthia Watros) plot to keep Sonny for herself and away from Carly majorly backfired on her.  Not only does Phyllis (Joyce Guy) now know that Nina lied about “Mike’s” identify the entire time, but Peter August (Wes Ramsey) is running wild and free heading back to Port Charles to claim his baby and Maxie (Kirsten Storms), after setting fire to the building.

Since “Mike” ran in to save Nina and got hit by a beam in the process, he is alone in the burning Tan-O enveloped by flames, but that triggers the beginning of his memory coming back.

Meanwhile, back in Port Charles, Jason (Steve Burton) and Carly (Laura Wright) are at their wedding, with the five family mob bosses present with a plot of their own and everyone wondering if Jarly will say “I do'”.    The two light a candle together for those loved ones no longer with them … ah, Sonny!

Back the burning Tan-O, Sonny is visited by the vision of the real Mike (Max Gail) who tells him it’s time for him to go home now.  A conflicted Sonny tells Mike he is very happy in Nixon Falls with Nina, but Mike tells him he needs to know his past in order to move forward.  When Sonny has flashes of his violent past it frightens him, and he says whatever family he has is better off without him in their lives.

Jax (Ingo Rademacher) tries to text Maxie while still in Nixon Falls with Nina to watch out for Peter, but she is attending and managing Carly and Sonny’s wedding, so she doesn’t pick up the phone!

Inside the Tan-O, Sonny sees a vision of woman, who when she turns and faces him is Carly. While Sonny is lying on the floor and is engulfed in flames and trapped, Mike tells Sonny he can die as “Mike” or live on as the man he truly is, Sonny.  It is then Sonny calls out “Carly!”

So, what did you think of the episode? Do you think Carly and Jason will get married? Will Sonny tells Nina he remembers? What will Nina’s next move be? Are you glad Sonny seems to have his memory back? The episode featured another strong performance by Maurice Benard.  Share your thoughts below.

REPORT: Clayton Echard Cast as the Next ‘Bachelor’ for its Upcoming 26th Season

After all the turmoil of the previous ‘Bachelor’ seasons, it looks like the ABC reality-dating competition may have found their man.

Multiple sources are reporting that Clayton Echard, who no one has seen yet, and who appears as a suitor in Michelle Young’s season of The Bachelorette, has actually been given the nod to be the lead in the new upcoming 26th season of the series.

On Wednesday, leaked photos appeared online of Echard with a camera crew by E! News  questioning if he would be the new “Bachelor.”

Variety is saying that their sources are saying Echard is ABC’s choice for the lead, but that no official announcement will be forthcoming especially since Young’s season of The Bachelorette which bows October 19th had not even begun.

What we can glean on Echard from his Instagram page is that he is 28-years-old and from Missouri and played college football at U of Missouri and was signed as pro to play with tight end with the Seattle Seahawks, but he is now an orthopaedic saleman.
