Tamron Hall Daytime Talk Show To Launch Fall 2019 On ABC Owned Stations

Looks like the daytime talk show market is going to get more than just the new Kelly Clarkson Show in the fall of 2019.

Tamron Hall, the former Today co-host will definitely launch her new talker, as well.

Disney ABC has cleared the new syndicated daytime talk show hosted by Hall on the ABC Owned Television Stations Group for fall 2019.

According to Deadline:  The project had been in development at Walt Disney Direct-to-Consumer & International for the past couple of months.

They report that it is unclear where the Tamron Hall show will go on the ABC stations line-ups. Depending on the market, it could replace Rachel Ray, which currently airs on three of the eight ABC stations, or Right This Minute.

The ABC Owned Television Stations Group include the following markets: WABC-TV in New York; KABC-TV in Los Angeles; WLS-TV in Chicago; WPVI-TV in Philadelphia; KGO-TV in San Francisco; KTRK-TV in Houston; WTVD-TV in Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina; and KFSN-TV in Fresno, California. The eight stations represent 23% of the country’s television households and will serve as the show’s launch group.

“We’re excited to bring Tamron Hall to our ABC Owned Stations next fall and are confident she’ll be a unique and welcome voice in daytime,” said Wendy McMahon, president, ABC Owned Television Stations Group. “Tamron is refreshingly authentic and approachable. She genuinely cares about people, their struggles and their triumphs. We know she’ll connect with our audiences in a personal and positive way.”

So, what do you think about a Tamron Hall talker and more gabfest’s entering the once soap opera filled day-part? Comment below.  But first watch this teaser video with Tamron of what she says her show will feel like.

Good for her; appears she got a raw deal at NBC.

Yee-gads! Another yawn-fest! Another hour of free-time.

Seriously? Who is going to watch this? I dont get how Hollywood dumps money on stuff like this. Sure, I’m a soap fan and want ALL 4 to survive but daytime, no matter what you put on these days is on its last leg! I would put more money into products that are tried and true and promote them more. I dont know how many times I’ve told someone I watch GH and their comment is always, “Oh, is that still on?”

This BETTER NOT meant that GH is cancelled. ABC should know better!!!!

Just what I was thinking! I like Tamron, and I’m glad she’s getting her own show because she was screwed royally by NBC! But, I hope this is not some plot to get GH’s timeslot! I still have not forgiven ABC Daytime for cancelling AMC & OLTL and replacing it with The Chew and another equally cheap, horrid show! When that was cancelled, I wasn’t sorry — until I remembered that a whole bunch of people lost their jobs — AGAIN!

Ugh, WHY oh WHY oh WHY do these (mostly) women believe they can host a successful talk show? I can’t stand Katie Couric or Meredith Veira, but if they couldn’t do it then Tamron Living-Brain-Donor Hall certainly isn’t going to do it.

GOD, were those two awful or what (Couric and Vieira)?

I think with each new talk show on a soap opera network we’re getting closer and closer to the end of the soap era. Terrible…

No more Talk Show!

Good grief! How many talk shows do we need? I don’t even watch one.

No thanks ABC !!! Hear your soap fans and listen up…. ONE LIFE TO LIVE is the only thing that will bring my eyes to ABC during the day !!!

It’s not happening.

oh i know…. but hey, isn’t a soap site a place to lament ?

LOL; yes indeed. Well, lament, praise, love, dislike and all that jazz. But, sometimes, it seem some posters think that canceled soaps will be revived. Until/if there’s a way to produce them more cost effectively it’s not happening. All we can do is hope the remaining ones aren’t ripped from our screens too suddenly/quickly. It’s not a matter of if, but when.

Hi rebecca1…We’re probably lucky there are still four soaps. It seems everything that has made a civil, progressive, entertaining society for our era has been disappearing. I’m not trying to say that all things have been positive, still a lot to work on, and a lot has regressed. But at least the soaps have tried to explore some of the more social topics in their ongoing stories. I must say, for me, though, some of the “news” has been riveting lately. Talk about drama. I have been glued to what’s happening re: the supreme court nomination. Don’t want to get into politics (which I really dislike), but good for the women at the elevator, or one who had the courage to testify with nothing to gain. No matter how it turns out it shows how just a few passionate, well spoken words, at the right place and time can make some pause/difference. At least for now.

No thanks.

This show will last about two minutes. No thanks.

Charday…two minutes or less…if we’re lucky…lol.

Nothing against Tamara but another talk show? How boring & if politics are discussed I think I will scream. I hope she does not replace Rachael Ray at least she cooks. If her time is 10am that is Rachaels slot.

I don’t think I can stand yet another talk show, no matter who the host is. It just better not interfere with Rachael Ray. I really miss The Chew, a show where I learned a lot. I absolutely HATE The View, a bunch of cackling women. I don’t want to know about anyone else’s politics. I’ll form my own political views, thank you. Please leave Rachael Ray’s show alone. I love to watch Kelly and Ryan, and I enjoy Right This Minute. Where else can they put this new show? We don’t want it or need it.

We don’t need another talk show. The Tamron Hall Show is being advertised for ABC’s 10 AM slot in Philadelphia. No word on what is happening to the Rachel Ray Show which has been in this time slot for years. 1st ABC cancels the Chew which has always had higher ratings than Stratham & Sarah & now you’re messing with Rachel Ray? Time to stop watching ABC.

REPORT: Nicholas Chavez Not Returning to General Hospital

For those who were holding out hope that Daytime Emmy winner and fan favorite, Nicholas Chavez would be returning to General Hospital after filming his leading role in Ryan Murphy’s Monsters anthology, it looks like those hopes have been dashed.

According to a report from TV Line, although unconfirmed from General Hospital or a representative for Chavez, the actor will not reprise his role as Spencer Cassadine on the long-running ABC soap opera and continue the love story of Sprina opposite Tabyana Ali (Trina, GH).

Chavez was cast as Lyle Menendez over the the summer of 2023 for the second season of Murphy’s limited Monsters series on Netflix. In the upcoming season, the series will focus on the the case of Lyle and Erik Menendez, the two well-to-do Beverly Hills brothers accused of murdering their parents in 1989.

After word from Chavez casting was revealed, GH fans were concerned over the fate of the Sprina story, a spokesperson for GH shared,  “We support Nicholas’ endeavors and look forward to having him return to General Hospital once this project is wrapped.”

In story, the series “killed off” Spencer when he went overboard with Esme to the steely waters below after being injected with a drug, thanks to Esme and falling into the Seine River in France. However, his body was never recovered, and believed to have drowned or washed away. Thus, leaving an opening for Spencer to return in the form of Chavez or be recast down the line.

TV Line shared that ‘multiple sources’ are confirming that Chavez is not returning to the ABC soap opera, which is what many had suspected might be the case once he left for this major starring role in a Ryan Murphy project. Chavez has been relatively quiet on social media for months.

The Michael Fairman Channel spoke with Nicholas Chavez for a virtual interview when he first joined the show in 2021, and spoke to him right after when he won the Daytime Emmy in 2022 – you can see those below.

No word yet on when Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menéndez Story will debut on Netflix, but it is assumed later this year.
