If you ever wondered about the thought-process of a head writer of a daytime drama, who also has the task of a creating a limited-streaming series in the same vein, then look no further then Michael Fairman’s latest interview now on You Tube’s Michael Fairman Channel with DAYS head writer, Ron Carlivati.

Coming off his third Daytime Emmy win for Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series, Carlivati not only shares the high points of his Emmy night, but how the win was made extra-special and emotional because of the passing of DAYS writing team member, Elizabeth Snyder, who was key to the writing of one of the winning episodes.

Starting on Monday July 11th, Carlivati and team’s latest creation, Days of our Lives: Beyond Salem Chapter Two will drop on Peacock with a new episode each day through Friday, July 15th.  During this interview, Ron details how Peter Reckell (Bo), Kristian Alfonso (Hope) and Steve Burton (Harris) all signed on to the project, and how he approached the story for each of their characters, and how at its core this second edition of ‘Beyond Salem’ will be a must-see for any longtime Bope fan.

Ron also talks on the on-screen debut of Abigail Klein as the new Stephanie Johnson in ‘Beyond Salem” and how she will land on NBC DAYS, and more. He also addresses the recent on-screen exodus on the mothership at Days of our Lives of Marci Miller (Abigail), Lamon Archey (Eli) and Sal Stowers (Lani) and Victoria Konefal (Ciara) and Rob Scott Wilson (Ben).  Though as has been reported and speculated, Wilson will be returning to the soap opera.

In a DAYS summer preview, Carlivati shares that Abigail’s murder mystery will take many twists and turns, how Sami (Alison Sweeney) and Lucas (Bryan Dattilo) nuptials could all blow up if Sami were to find out the man she is marrying was her kidnapper, plus what will Sami do when she realizes her sister, Belle (Marths Madison) has gotten oh-so-close with her man, EJ (Dan Feuerriegel)?

The head scribe also teases that another major character will die in the coming months .. .but who will it be?

We wrap up the conversation with some rapid-fire questions for Ron on his favorite soap characters, storylines, etc, which if you are One Life to Live or Knots Landing fan, you will want to find out his answers.

I am definitely looking forward to this installment of Beyond Salem. But let’s get back to Salem for a moment. Who attends a funeral with such cleavage?!?! I am a big fan of Ben and Ciara. I know that their romance was clearly “front and center” and that Ciara was often scantily clad. But for a funeral?!?! Am I a prude? I certainly am not a sexist.

Too noticeable. Took away from the episode. Everyone watched her boobs

Andy
Yea, pretty bad, they should have preempted them, huh?

Days is sooo over the top these days?!
Did he mention anything about Nicole and Eric?!

I’m 55yrs old,and I’ve been watching, and I’m a diehard Days fan. I get furious when something else is on in its time slot because I don’t have wifi or internet available where I live. I hate that there are so many shows like Beyond Days, that I’m missing out on all the time. I hate that so many of my favorite cast members are leaving. I must say I’m soooo glad that “Abigail ” is gone!!! I couldn’t stand her because she was just so drab and boring and her wardrobe was horrible!!! Kate Mansi was always dressed very sexy, and you could believe EJ had a hot steamy affair with her. Marci Miller just NEVER could’ve pulled anything like that off!! What was with all those huge dresses, handbags, and coats??? Was she continuously pregnant in real life. You did spice her makeup and hair at the end, but again I’m glad she’s gone. She really had no personality! Is Days coming to an end soon with everyone leaving? I’m already severely depressed and I will hate to see the show come to an end. It really is a daily staple in my life. I would love to see John Anniston more, I know he must be experiencing some health issues, but he’s a very handsome man and I’ve always enjoyed the character he plays. Where’s Zander. Brady and Ben and Ciara, the Gorgeous people going? Are they on “Beyond Days”?

Was there actually an episode with the funeral of Abigail? I didn’t see it, so NBC must have put some Biden crap, or the Trump lied election stuff. I hate when they can’t even announce what other time the episode will be shown so I can be sure to record it. Thanks Days, I really miss Brady…he’s sooo handsome !

There was no actual funeral.. which is admittedly weird after a week or so of mourning.

As far as pre-emptions go… NBC has preempted Days more for golf & tennis tournaments than they have any of the televised hearings. The sports pre-emptions are national, so they simply don’t have an episode that day. If your local TV affiliate preempts Days for the hearings or some other news story, then you would have to ask that affiliate when they would run the episode. It’s usually 3 AM or so…. although in the digital TV age, it’s equally likely that they would run Days in the normal time slot, but on one of their digital subchannels, as opposed to the main NBC channel. (Like if your NBC channel is 5.1, they might flip Days over to 5.2 while the news story runs on the main channel)

Because most people do have internet and thus, access to Peacock, it might encourage the programmers at the local NBC affiliate from putting any extra effort into airing the episode late at night. They wouldn’t want to give up any of that late night infomercial money, right??

Serena Scott Thomas to Days of our Lives, But What Role Will She Play?

Look who’s coming to Salem next? In a tease on their official Instagram account, Days of our Lives has revealed that Serena Scott Thomas has been on set and will debut in an upcoming role, leaving many fans guessing just who might she play.

The English actress and documentary producer has previously starred in Diana, Her Story as Diane Prince of Wales, Dr. Molly Warmflash in the James Bond  film The World Is Not Enough, and played the villainess ‘Watcher” in Buffy, the Vampire Slayer, and Bruce Willis’ wife in the film, Hostages among others.

Serena is the younger sister of Kristen Scott Thomas, best known for her Oscar-nominated role in The English Patient. Several DAYS fans are already weighing in that Serena will play Konstantine’s (John Kaeplos) wife.

However, NannyKat 63 may have it all figured out the best, when she posted, that not only will “Serena play Kostantine’s wife,” but the character “had an affair with Victor Kiriakis and got pregnant.” Thus, making Xander (Paul Telfer) her son. She went on to theorize, “Perhaps, And John and Steve will find her in the nick of time… and she’ll enter in time to stop the wedding of Maggie to him. Xander will find out his true identity then. The baby was given to Victor’s brother to be raised in Scotland.”

Sounds plausible to us! Another guess came from donnamoore_23 who said, “Ya’ll think he could be Bobberette ‘s mom or sister or .. SOMETHING to do with his story .. someone who can back up what trauma he went through to be so sick? 🤷🏼‍♀️ but I think y’all are right could be Katerina.”

Photo: JPI

Two DAYS stars, Tamara Braun (Ava) and Linsey Godfrey (Sarah) also shared comments on Serena Scott Thomas’ upcoming appearance on DAYS. Godfrey simply said, “YES!!!! while Braun add her guess, expressing, “Ava’s mum. Oh wait, her mom was killed by her dad. Or was she? 🤔”

So, what do you think? What role will Serena Scott Thomas play on Days of our Lives? Share your theories in the comment section below.

Arianne Zucker Reveals Her Last Days of our Lives Airdate

Arianne Zucker, who is no longer on contract with Days of our Lives, and involved in a lawsuit against the show, took to her You Tube channel and in her latest episode, and offered up what she believes is her final airdate as Nicole Walker DiMera.

The actress expressed: “I was really appreciative of the amount of support that I have had since leaving Days of our Lives.” She then added,  “My last airdate, I think, it’s July 29th and we’ll see how things go after that.”

Zucker went on to say how she has continued to receive overwhelming support since suing her former employer, Corday Productions, with the allegations that former Co-EP Albert Alarr sexually harassed her and other females at the show, and that the production company entity did not respond sufficiently and adequately.

Photo: JPI

After lodging her complaints, Zucker said her agents received two notices that Corday Productions were reducing her pay before her character was ultimately written off.  Zucker’s contract expired in January and since DAYS tapes over six months ahead it brings her final airdate, which as of now, to the end of July. Zucker is suing for harassment, discrimination, retaliation, negligent hiring and supervision, and wrongful termination among other claims.

Previously, Corday Productions issued this statement on Zucker’s claims: “The allegations in Ms. Zucker’s lawsuit are without merit. Corday Productions, offered to renew Ms. Zucker’s contract including offering her a pay increase. Rejecting Ms. Zucker’s counteroffer does not constitute retaliation. Complaints about Mr. Alarr’s on-set behavior were promptly investigated. Corday Productions fully cooperated with the impartial investigation and subsequently terminated Mr. Alarr.”

On her You Tube channel, Arianne went on to thank everyone who came out to the east coast fan event last weekend that featured several DAYS stars. She expressed, “My whole goal is to really help people stand up for themselves.” Arianne also shared she thinks it’s important for people who have gone through trauma to help each other through it.

On DAYS, Nicole is still in the dark that Sloan (Jessica Serfaty) is raising her child, Jude, with Eric (Greg Vaughan), and Eric also doesn’t know that he is raising his biological son. Will Eric and Nicole reunite and will Nicole find out what Sloan, Melinda and Leo (Greg Rikaart) have been hiding for months, before she exits the show? Stay tuned. There has been on official confirmation from DAYS that July 29th is Zucker’s final airdate.

You can check out Ari’s latest episode from her You Tube Channel below.
