We hardly knew ye! That is what many fans of the CBS Daytime drama, The Young and the Restless are saying Thursday morning after a post over the last 24 hours from actor Michael Roark who popped up on to the scene in Genoa City as Travis, and fell for Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle).

In a post on Twitter, Roark with a photo of himself waving goodbye shared: “Travis says goodbye & sails out of town. Will he come back for his girl?TY fans, cast & crew. #Tricky #YR

But is Roark going out of town and never coming back, or will he return down the line? That is the question.  With Travis, out of the equation this could lead to a possible reconcilation down the line between Billy (Jason Thompson) and Victoria, who already this week shared a heartfelt moment with their kids in an episode on Wednesday.

So, sad to hear Michael is gone as Travis? Do you hope he returns? Do you want Billy and Victoria back together?  Share your thoughts in the comment section below!

well mal young (exec producer) tweeted ” End of a chapter, Not end of a story” so maybe travis will come back in the future…………………..

I hope he returns , I liked him very much! Amelia and Michael have a great chemistry together ! He is Hot Hot Hot!

CYA!

Who was he-lol

A ‘possible reconciliation’ for Billy and Victoria??? No Thank You. N-e-x-t……….

No thank you, is right, Jay. With a nuBilly, maybe. But, Jason T is proving to be worse than Burgess for me.
If not Billy Miller, many have suggested John-Paul Lavoisier. I think he would carry the character well. John-Paul does have a sort of the Billy Abbott personality.

Yes, and he is available. Due to bad writing, DAYS has squandered another big name soap talent. Same thing has happened with Jason. It’s a shame, because Jason started out as Billy to immediate accolades, and well deserved ones. but the writing has turned Billy into a dark, sullen, self-entitled jerk. Even when Billy Miller’s Billy screwed up and made mistakes, it was never because he wished to hurt someone. He always had the best of intentions, but they just went awry. You could root for his Billy because he was a human, and the writing for his character always seemed somewhat inspired and true to character. As well, Jason appears a little bit old to be playing a whiny self-centered man child after playing a respected surgeon on GH for so long. It is jarring. Even he seems uncomfortable in the role, which is also hard to watc because he was always comfortable in Patrick’s skin and in command of the character’s actions and emotions. John Paul has that ability to both play an adult but with a youthful twinkle, which is why Billy Miller succeeded. I was ALL for Jason Thompson’s hiring, but as usual with the timing on soaps, it was a little too late. Justin Hartley should have been Billy, and Jason should have been Adam. Jason is similar to Michael Muhney’s portrayal, more somber and morose, whereas Jason has a more dynamic, go-getter personality that was like Billy. i now that Jason was not available at the time Adam was recast, and justin was, so its just wishful thinking.

I certainly don’t want to see Jason out of a job. He took this role with the best of intentions, and it was an initial success. But it has fizzled fast, and watching him pant after Phyllis is just disgusting and definite FF material. As usual, bad writing has compromised yet another A-List talent. Again, wishful thinking, and no offense to Jason, because he is a phenomenal actor, but I think JPL would mae a very good, more age appropriate, more true to character Billy.

Oh lord please not him. He has no charisma. He puts me to sleep on DOOL. Jason is a great Billy much better than Burgess. Jason has the personality of the historical Billy. Maybe if you quit seeing Billy Miller as the right Billy you would see the great job Justin is doing. JPL is clearly not even close to being Billy Abbott.

@GramS.
You are entitled to your opinion. It does not make it right.
I am to mine. It does not mean I am right. It is the reason we OPINE.
I have no clue if you ever watched OLT! But, John-Paul’s character was very Billy Abbot-like.
Word to the wise: we try not to attack each other on these sites. But, try to respect each others’s opinions.
Enjoy your night.

Can you believe we are thinking Burgess Jenkins???

@Timmm.
I know, Timmmy. Burgess!! Who would have “thunk” it?

I’m with you, Jay! Besides, it’s not really a reconciliation, given that it’s a different actor playing the role of Billy…

Thank You, Brother. Oh…and I hate to say it…but, since I know how I am (lol), I’ll say it, anyway: Ever since Billy Miller ‘jumped ship’ (or whatever) from Y&R to GH, I feel like Victoria (character-wise and all) has ‘lost her way’. Sad. Oh…and BTW, the ‘current Billy’ is starting to BORE ME…and…is behaving like an unlikable, shallow, selfish, self-centered and love ’em-and-leave ’em wanna-be playboy. BEYOND LAME!!!!!!!!!!

Have a good one, Brother.

Hmmmm. True that, James. Hadn’t thought of it that way. But, now I see the light…LOL.
However, I never felt the connection between Amelia and Jason.
And, Jaybird is on the same wave as mine, as far as nuBilly is concerned.
I just cannot give him more than a glance; especially his runs with Phyllis.
As I said, not Jason’s fault. Historically ( as was suggested Jason’s portrayal of Billy is), this is not Billy Abbott. Billy was a free spirit who captivated the viewers…stole our collective hearts and held on to them in his palm.
I honestly expected an adult Billy to emerge through Thompson…..yes, for him to hold on to that boyish kind of charisma; but, be a man.
I find it disappointing how Jason’s Billy has been written thus far. Poor Billy has been regressing.
Billy needs to get his sight and ‘something’ else back, James, my friend.

Balls of fire—I don’t want to see a Billy and Victoria redux—that ship sailed a long time ago as far as I’m concerned.

I hope! I hated him with Victoria and he was an average, at best, actor in my opinion! To me, JFP hired him because he looked like Billy Miller! When Miller’s sleepy time at GH is over, quit freaking around and hire him back. Thompson can move back to GH and bring Robin and Emma back where they belong, to Port Charles!

Totally agree with everything you’ve said. These two actors were much better in their original roles. Can’t put my finger on exactly what the problems are but it’s too much of a coincidence that both were so good before switching shows.

I agree. I was so certain Jason Thompson would make a good, different Billy Abbott but I feel it is a bust! Billy Miller on GH just seems bored!

And you want an actor to lose his job because … ? Billy Miller DOES NOT WANT to return.

No one said that Billy Miller wants to return to Y& R. I think, those of us who pine for him, have resigned ourselves to the fact he is NOT coming back.
As Dylan said, and I actually said something similar days ago, Billy Miller had that “Je e ne sais quoi”, inexplicable factor, which compelled us to forgive him everything.
I want to smack some sense into this Billy…..not his fault….but, the writers’.
Jason T has turned Billy Abbott into an annoying, and recalcitrant little pest.
I was never a fan of Jason T, but I remember voicing my best wishes to him. Everyone deserves that when starting a new role. I did give him tabula rasa….but, ummm…..He didn’t even reach those far recesses of my mind….

AMEN!!!!!!

First of all I dont want ANYONE to loose their job! Secondly Jeanne, you are Billy Miller’s agent?

100% agree

What makes you think Billy Miller wants to go back to Y&R, or that Jason Thompson would be interested in playing Dr. Dull again? Easy for us fans to want the actors to stay in the same roles forever, but at the end of the day it’s up to the actors themselves!

I agree. I am a poster here with wishes. They dont make my career decisions and I wont criticize what they do for them and their families. I post here to hope as a fan. Either way, I tune in and get through what I dont like.

no real interest in travis/ vicki….
she was supposed to ‘ let her hair down’ … but it was tame at best… wld ve been funner to see vic really hit rock bottom, join her dad in misery … end of her career, her marriage and really go for broke…. instead we got her falling for a bartender at a hillbilly boozecan
after watching lauralee and michelle staffords interview as old cricket / phyllis classic days i really think y n r s exhausted the newmans and abbotts… yes they re quintessentail y n r but a lil break would be nice… i would nt mind a cricket/ nina/ paul/ lauren/ michael mystery or a winters lily/ cane/ jill chancellor story!!!
y n r needs some storyline refreshing with neglected characters
most of all vic newman genoa city enemy # 1 tales needs a rest… keep him in jail for a bit for real

I agree with you Damin. I still say that Jill needs to come back on a permanent basis. She is connected to so many people. They could finally have Lauren do more than have dinner at the club with her husband and be his sounding board about his cases. They could bring Colin back with Jill as well. This way Cane and Lily could focus on things other than how much Hilary is ruining their lives. I always thought Stitdh was useless. Let him stay wherever he is now with his son and nurse him back to health. I am hoping that since the other day they were having the house redone to Jill’s liking that means she is making a comeback. There are so many newbies they need to get rid of. Maybe now that the chain of command is different long time fans will get their wish.

The whole story line s*cked…NEW writers please

0ohh geez, hmmm well-
I won’t miss him, hardly knew he was there.
Travis didn’t do anything he was just there like a chair, just there …

Feel bad that Michael Roark lost a job/income. That’s nasty .

Hey, su.
Perhaps Roark was hired as a transient actor to see if a new relationship for Victoria would pan out. He served his purpose. We now are aware that Victoria is a responsible person, mother and professional….that she would not just up and leave.
I never caught on to Roark…too fast, too soon.

I HOPE HIS TEASING AT THE END OF HIS SENTENCE WILL MEAN HE WILL BE BACK ,DON’T WANT VIKI AND BILLY TOGETHER ,THAT WOULD BE ESPECIALLY IF MILLER RETURNED ,JASON IS THE FIRST BILLY I’VE LIKED AND I SURE LIKE TRAVIS.WITH TORI .

After yesterday’s ep, I figured Travis was gone. It seemed like Victoria and Billy were going to reconnect.

Another lame-duck Chuck Pratt-created character goes away – ADIOS!!!

Now if only someone will show Pratt the EXIT door….!!!!

I really enjoyed him I’m so bored with Billy & Victoria. He’s a great actor.
Hope he comes back. For now I’ll get to watch him on Beauty & The Beast

STUPID! They get someone we like & let them go! I guess too many complaining about Billy & Phyllis! So they will put them back together! Boring!
I was loving Tricky!!

LOVED him. Sad to see him go.

MIchael Roark reminded me of Amelia Heinle’s real life husband. They have a similar look. I started to warm up to him as Travis and Victoria needs a good man. I love Victoria and Billy but Billy ALWAYS treats Victoria horribly. They are great as friends, excellent as parents and better off away from each other. I don’t think Billy and Phyllis are a good couple. They feed each other’s worst character traits. I think Jason Thompson is the best replacement for Billy Abbott yet. Billy Miller is the cream of the crop in every way but after David Tom and Burgess Jenkins who just gave a bad smell to the character I am grateful that at least Jason Thompson has actually acting ability. Y&R has been solid and I think with Mal Young running the show it can go far but can I please just ask the PTB to let Pratt go? Give Mal Young the chance to make this show shine again. I heard a recent podcast about about how the Pratt regime has destroyed strong characters such as Nikki Newman and I have to agree. Nikki would never just accept Dr. Gates as a friendly competitor and leave it unsaid. She would corner that cow and milk her for everything she is worth. I want strong Nikki back. Anyway back to Mr Roark. He was a good addition with some redeeming traits as a character. I hope that he does come back in the future. But if he doesn’t I was glad he showed up. I have enjoyed him more than Luca or Meredith or even Ian. Kudos for some strong shows Y&R…Let’s go.

He is the perfect match for her. Bring him back.

He was one of the few bright spots on what has become a dismal show.

I agree Mike and all everyone can talk about is Billy Miller & Jason. WOW! Travis had great chemistry with Victoria. Please unless you bring back Billy Miller don’t put Victoria back with this Billy. Jason T. is a great actor but just not with Victoria. While your at it please let that crazy Chloe get normal and let her get over this damn story of Delia. Enough already!

Why is it every time we get someone we like, we lose them. He had great chemistry with Victoria and he wasn’t hard on the eyes either. Dam we like someone there gone, we hate someone we get the twit every day.

Billy Miller and J0ason Thompson are both outstanding actors. Give it time people.

I agree with Jason but Billy Miller has been on GH for almost TWO years and he has had not ONE memorable scene! I know, the writers, the writers BUT he looks bored!

Then what was the purpose of Travis other than for Victoria to get laid?

Oh, Linda you crack me up. Can’t be more specific than that. LOL.
I agree. I said the same thing, in a different way, above.
It was all about both Victoria and Billy having their fling, but always returning to the roost.
Hope the story does not go that way: 1) Billy is reliving his teen years–is too far gone building sand castles with “I-can-explain-with-a-good-lie” Phyllis. And, 2) Jason and Amelia are as good as oil and water: they do not mix.
But, they will be thrown together, anyway.

I don’t care one way or the other my complaint is the lousy treatment of Tracey Bregman and Christian LeBlanc (Lauren/Michael Baldwin) barely on together and one of the most stable lovimng exciting couples in YR but Pratt has virtually desimated Michaels family and left them without a story for over a year and the story that was started that would have been a blockbuster with their acting abilities was Michael’s Cancer story but this fool writer had no idea how to write a real story so he screwed it up so badly and it really could have been a beautiful story The ladies who started it were let go and we got this person writing now who has ruined every character and his stories are pure BS

I really liked him! Sorry to see him go.

Nothing to miss, their story line was lame. The Victoria character made to look frivolous and vapid.

I think when Victoria finds out about Billy’s fling with his sister-in-law it will be awhile before she takes him back because the Billy she knew would not have done this to his brother.

The only thing that could make this character remotely interesting is if we found he was hired by Victor to distract Vicky from Billy Boy, otherwise he is right up there with those characters that were there, but really can’t remember then– does Sam the vet ring any bells?

MY/Travis & AH/Victoria never clicked. He’s 10 years younger than her and it was painfully obvious!
In fact, AH hasn’t ever clicked with anyone but Billy Miller as long as I’ve been watching the show. Seems to me she’s the problem!

Michael Roarke was the best thing to happen to the Y&R in a very long time. Best looking character & there could have been so much fun with his character. Much like Paul when he was younger. So boring now with same old story lines like Chloe back, Chelsea moaning about Adam. Never any closures & new beginnings. That’s what you gave us with the Travis story.Even my favourite Victor has become a bore. Hope you shake things up soon. So many of your die hard fans losing interest in the show!!

‘General Hospital’s’ Dominic Zamprogna Shares He Was ‘Happy to Hear’ of The Triangle Storyline Developing Between Dante/Elizabeth/Ric

Published

By

Dominic Zamprogna

General Hospital’s Dominic Zamprogna (Dante Falconeri) opened up about the burgeoning love triangle forming between his Port Charles alter-go, Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) and Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) after recently aired scenes, plus his hopes for the future of a Dante and Liz pairing, during his appearance on the Sunday, April 23 edition of the That’s Awesome podcast with Steve Burton (Jason Morgan) and Bradford Anderson (Spinelli).

On last week’s episodes of GH, Ric has made the decision that he wanted to propose to his ex-wife, only when he showed up at Elizabeth’s front door, he misread the scenario he walked in with Liz tending to Dante’s injured leg from the softball game. From there, the legal eagle’s jealous streak is reemerging which may cause him to act out and do something unforgivable, or will he take the high road? Stay tuned.

Speaking with Steve Burton and Bradford Anderson about where Elizabeth stands in the annals of the long-running soap, Zamprogna said, “She’s up there with Steve and Maurice (Maurice Benard) as one of the most legacy-filled people on the show.”

HOW DANTE AND ELIZABETH CAME ABOUT

Dominic jokes it’s a far cry for where Dante and Elizabeth previously, recalling, “We had some scenes together years ago and we were both laughing. Becky’s like, ‘Well, I guess we’re not going be paired up anytime soon.’ I remember we laughed immediately after they yelled ‘cut,”‘and said to each other, ‘Well, so much for that!'”

Fast-forward to early 2025 and as Zamprogna remembered it, “Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) came up to me at the General Hospital Christmas party, and I think it was a year and a half ago and she said, ‘We’re going to have you in scenes with Elizabeth,’ My internal monologue is going, ‘I’m not with Lulu (Alexa Havins) anymore and Sam’s (Kelly Monaco) gone, so maybe they want to see if this works.’ I didn’t want to get scenes with Becky and try to find the chemistry. I just wanted to play whatever honestly was written and came across for both of us and hope it was what people liked, and I don’t know if it is … or not.”

Knowing how beloved Elizabeth is to the GH faithfuls, Zamprogna added, “She got a big fan base with Ric … and a big fan base with with Jason … and you know, you’re going to piss somebody off. But, didn’t Ric drug Elizabeth and put Carly in a panic room?”

DANTE AND ELIZABETH PAIRING COULD STIR UP STORY FOR OTHERS IN PORT CHARLES

In closing, Dominic felt that the wide-reaching tentacles of a Dante and Elizabeth relationship is something he is 100% down for. “The triangle thing; I was happy to hear it was with Ric and her, because I felt it’s important to have her the top of it as opposed to Dante, Lulu and Elizabeth.”

Zamprogna added, “When you get into relationships on a soap, things seem to fizzle out a little bit, The buildup is what’s the fun part, and the getting to know each other, and the people who are affected by this coming together. When with this case it’s going to affect: Ric, Sonny, Lulu. There’s so much more story here. To me, it’s going to be a fun story to play.”

You can check out Dominic’s visit to That’s Awesome with Steve and Bradford below.

Now weigh-in: Are you rooting for Dante and Liz, or Dante and Ric at this juncture of the story, or neither guy  for Elizabeth? Let us know your thoughts and picks via the comment section.

GH and OLTL Alum Patrick J. Gibbons Reveals the Story Behind Writing Trina’s Song on ‘General Hospital’ (Exclusive)

Published

on

By

Patrick J. Gibbons

At the conclusion of today’s August 21 episode of General Hospital, Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) sings a lullaby to baby Dez, that went into a montage to close out the episode as her father Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) reports to Pentonville and winds up in his jail cell.

However, in a fun fact, the song entitled, “A Lonely Heart To Give” was actually written by none other than former One Life to Live and General Hospital actor, Patrick J. Gibbons.

Daytime fans first met Gibbons as Sam Manning on One Life to Live. At the time, when he started on the soap, he was just 5-years-old. Gibbons played the part from 2010-2013 on ABC and Prospect Park’s editions of the show. Fast-forward to 2018, Gibbons shows up on General Hospital as Wyatt Hoover, the scout who seemed always be injured, but in the thick of the drama. Patrick had appeared on GH multiple times as Wyatt including: 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023.

FROM HIS GRANDMOTHER’S DEATH CAME THE INSPIRATION FOR HIS SONG

Now in 2026, General Hospital fans are getting to learn about another side of Gibbons’ talent as a songwriter and guitar player after “A Lonely Heart to Give” debuted today! Michael Fairman TV caught up with Patrick, who is now a senior at Penn State entering his final year as a finance major, to get the back-story of how his song wound up on GH!

Gibbons explained he wrote the song in honor of his grandmother who passed away a few years ago with whom he was, very, very close with. “Randomly, my grandmother had a downfall and passed away during the second semester of my sophomore year. I was in my dorm a lot and I was just playing with my guitar. And at the time, I was really into finger-style playing. I wrote the lyric and music to it (with a little help from my guitar teacher Lou), and my mom showed the rough demo to Frank Valentini (EP, General Hospital). He’s like an uncle to me. Frank loved it so much he said, “Finish that up. I want to hear the whole thing, and I want it on the show.”

MAKING MUSIC FOR GENERAL HOSPITAL

Gibbons and his parents took the next steps! “So now, all we needed was a female voice, because I thought that would fit the song well,” Patrick shared. “At the golf club we go to my parents were at a dinner. They liked the singer that was performing and spoke to her about the song, and she says she would like to bring it to her ‘boss’ who ended up being Eric Bazilian of the Hooters fame!” (Bazilian also wrote the smash hit song “One of Us” for Joan Osborne).

Next, “We went in the studio and recorded it and the song came together and it was beautiful. We loved it. They loved it at General Hospital and now they’re putting it the show and they are coming in with a piano, instead of a guitar. Paul Glass, the GH musical director, has been keeping us updated over the last six months of how it was coming along, and when it would air, and how GH put their own arrangement to it. I can’t wait to see and hear what they did with it.”

PATRICK’S ONE LIFE TO LIVE FAMILY

Everyone knows that the One Life to Live extended family share a very tight bond, and Patrick said he does stay in touch with a few of his former One Life to Live co-stars, especially those from the Manning family! “I stayed in touch with Kassie DePaiva (ex-Blair) and sent her little videos here and there. She was like my second mom for five years. We keep in contact with Kristen Alderson (ex-Starr) over X the most, and she can’t believe how big I’ve gotten. Like, none of them can! (laughs). I also loved working with Roger Howarth (ex-Todd) and Trevor St. John (ex-Todd and Victor Jr.), and to me since I was so young, they were just my friends, ‘Roger and Trevor,’ not Todd Manning or Victor Jr.”

It was a trip to California and a visit to Port Charles that ultimately led to Gibbons second soap role of Wyatt Hoover. Patrick explains, “In 2016, Frank Valentini invited us out to Los Angeles to visit the set of General Hospital. I think he heard me say, ‘This is so much fun. I miss being on the set.’ He goes, ‘You should come out. I’ll bring you on the show. We can make you a character.'”

A few years later, Patrick’s dream became a reality! “Then, by the summer of 2018, I was playing Wyatt, the scout, and shared scenes with Wes Ramsey (Peter August), and the best was when I shared a scene with Roger Howarth and Michael Easton (ex-John, OLTL and ex-Silas, Finn et al, GH), it was like chemistry from the old days.”

IT’S ALL IN THE NUMBERS

As to his future aspirations, it’s a career in the finance game that has piqued Gibbons’ real-life interest. But never say never to a return to acting. Patrick explained, “I’ve always enjoyed numbers. And on top of that, one of the biggest parts of finance is being personable and outgoing.”

He continued, “That’s one of the greatest skills I developed growing up. I really love the markets. I’m super interested. I’m never going to close the door to acting. I’m always open to that because I just love it so much. It’s such a great art.”

Take note! If there are any investment bankers or private equity folks among the GH faithful looking for a young analyst next year, Patrick’s DMs are open. You can find him on X at @PatrickJGibbons.

So, what did you think of the song sung by Trina on today’s GH that was written by Patrick J. Gibbons? Did you enjoy Patrick’s performances as One Life’s Sam and GH’s Wyatt? Would you like to see him back on GH at some point? Let us know via the comment section.
